- Join me for this full body Pilates workout. All exercise are performed in a seated position and are perfect for seniors and beginners. You will feel great after working on our muscles to improve posture, core strengthening, and stretching.
If you enjoy my chair yoga workouts, you will LOVE chair Pilates!
Please make sure you are seated in a sturdy chair that does not have side arms. A couch or lazy boy type chair will NOT provide enough support for this workout. A dinning chair or folding chair that has a back will work well.

Simply brilliant exercise routine! I just loved it! I have lower back issues and cannot do regular Pilates anymore, this was very refreshing! For someone who is not a senior but works nights in an office environment I would say this is one of the best chair workouts I have ever done. I do love Pilates and have not done it for a while.

I used to exercise faithfully until I got very ill a couple of years ago. After a very long time away from all exercises this is a very comfortable segue back into a daily routine! Your voice is very soothing also which makes it easy and relaxing. Thank you for your expertise!

Just discovered this terrific chair version of Pilates. I used to teach Pilates and am now much older and creakier--but I discovered that can do your chair version (whew!). Now I have hope for getting some of those Pilates muscles and tone back. THANK YOU! You have such a thorough understanding of body mechanics and joint issues for seniors, and these safe routines for older people and beginners can reverse some of the physical impacts of aging. Mary Lee, that's SO great that you taught Pilates and now can do the chair version!! I worked in Physical Therapy and have less-good knees with all the concrete floor walking/standing/leaning etc. I've done but I've certainly enjoyed Lauren's Pilates even though I have to do chair version. I WISH we had known about some of these moves back in the 80's, 90's for our patients!! I still do some Massage Therapy and am turning my fiends to these videos to encourage them to stay in shape and/or stay loose and flexible. And YUP, I'm older and creakier now too. hahahahaha! But in some ways, in better condition as well. 🙂

I have bone on bone joints, 75 years old.. Was always very active and strong. Now with sciatica and arthritis, i am in pain of some kind all the time.. Your chair sessions makes exercise possible for me. I always feel better after doing this gentle program. Thank you so much for your videos

I love your (almost) 30 minute Pilates chair workouts. Due to knee pain I had to give up traditional yoga. Since I discovered your videos, I feel like my core, hips and legs are getting an even better workout. I can feel the difference. Thank you! Your positivity makes your videos a great experience.

I have severe arthritis in both knees so exercising is a huge challenge. But with this Pilates routine I feel like all my muscles are moving and that I’m actually accomplishing some exercise!! Your instructions are very clear also…, thank you!!!!

Throughout my life I have exercised. I have run, walked and jogged, done yoga, Pilates and Taichi. Since I'm aged, I have worked out by using Utube as a source for my workouts even with my hula hoop of more than fifty years. Although, I walk with Leslie Lansome weekly I have searched for methods of muscle training. Today I found it with you. It felt so great stretching my muscles like in yonder times. I 'm thankful to have found you after surfing Utube your preview attracted my attention which is why I'm saluting you. It was not the least disappointing. So happy to work with your calming voice to prompt harder attempts. When it was over, I felt energetic like younger days. Thank you.

I am so happy to have found you. I am 81, have lost (intentionally!) 70lbs/5 stone/30kg in the past eight months, and now have to tackle the balance and posture issues I have been left with after pushing a wheeled walker everywhere for the past four years or so. Knee problems meant I could not walk without one indoors or out. The weight loss has meant that I have been able to give up the idea of two knee replacements (at 81 I don't want the major surgery) and I feel as if I have my life back.
I have never enjoyed this kind of exercise nor tried yoga or pilates - I played tennis, squash and team sports for preference - but your gentle and persuasive style has won me over and even after just 6 days of exploring your range of videos, I already regret it if I miss a day. The gentleness is deceptive - it's tough love and the routines work even though I can't by any means manage everything yet.
As a huge bonus your voice is sheer delight to listen to - and believe me, with a daughter who is a voice coach I am super-critical of such things! Thank you so much.....

I’m not a senior yet but i had to start over with fitness. I’ve been suffering with Long COVID that caused Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome since late 2022. This means I was unable to stand up for more than a few minutes without passing out. I became unconditioned and very weak. I used your Mat and seated workouts like physical therapy and I’m so pleased to say my recovery is going well and my physical condition is much improved because of these workouts. I’m happily ready to try the standing exercises now. I feel that finding your workout channel saved me. 😊

After 2 years of continuous vertigo and having to give up tennis after 20+ years, I tried pilates but found the getting up and down was causing my vertigo to start again. My instructor recommended I try chair pilates. Just happened to find you on the internet! Thank you !!!! I think this will work and not cause vertigo issues and look forward to workingout with you.

This is a wonderful workout. I loved doing it. I am 71 years old, and I broke my arm in January, so I had to make some modifications but I was able to do most of the moves! Thank you! It is now April and I feel so much better.

Thank you Lauren for this workout. It really was a complete workout that hit all the spots. The glutes are still burning. I know you put this out a year or so ago so I wish I had seen it earlier. I have found over the years my hips struggle to do the floor Pilates/Yoga so this was a welcome relief that still works the hips without having to lay on them.
