Day 72, I quite like to do exercises like that at the end of the day because they are incredibly grounding and calming.Actually I can see them work for people with anxiety problems or when you can't sleep. Or even do some of them when you are alone in the office and your neck and shoulder muscles get tense.The exercises combined with the controlled breathing, your soothing voice and the calming music, are sheer bliss. :)
FINALLY found yoga that meets my needs!❤️ She has such great technique, easy to follow and wide variety for all levels. My subscription has ads but it’s no big deal and she’s not trying to constantly sell you anything.😊

I'm 76 and haven't done much for a while. This was wonderful. I have a problem with my left shoulder, couldn't lift it up easily so went half way or helped it with my right. By the end of the session I could swing it up! Thank you.😊

I echo so many comments on this exercise that you've designed for us. What sets you apart, imo, is your soft spoken & calming tone, your inclusion of modifications to movements for those of us 65+ or, simply, not as flexible as we once were. I am making a request of you: menopause hit me like a sledgehammer during the pandemic & changed my body in a way that I NEVER thought that was possible on me. Would you mind creating an exercise that targets lower back fat? I'm sure that you would design an exercise that would be effective, yet gentle & careful for us Seniors. I hope that I'm not the only one struggling with this area. Thank you, Lauren, for your dedication, beauty, & thoughtfulness.
You are so kind! Menopause has a way of adding weight around our mid sections for sure... Unfortunately, we can't spot treat an area to lose weight. I would recommend my standing abs video that really focuses on building strength in the core to firm the muscles in that area. For overall weight loss, you'll want to use both cardio and strength training to burn calories. Reducing sugar intake is also a big help keeping extra weight off. Are you comfortable working out in a standing position or on the floor? Please let me know so I can recommend some videos for you :)
@@SeniorShapeFitness , I do most of your exercise programs, standing, chair, & floor. I'm aware that we can't spot lose weight; that we must lose overall weight. But, if there were exercises in the overall design that might focus a little more on the lower back? I do breast reduction exercises that have helped me go down from a 38c to 34b. I'm ecstatic about that. It's just the stubborn lower back flab that I can't seem to shake. I guess I'll keep plugging away.

I practiced and taught yoga in my fifties and did CrossFit in my earlier sixties. Knees have given me problems and now that I do t CrossFit anymore and haven’t found “the” yoga studio I love this practice. Hoping to do more yoga and CrossFit in a few months. Thank you

Just completed second morning in a row! My right hip trochanter has been”out”for 18 months, and left shoulder “out” for about the same time! I’ve undergone countless injections in both places, and still my hip tweaked out again on Saturday when I had to show my art at a commitment that I had at a vendor sale. I made it through and I was walking so much that day it released around 3 o’clock, but was back by 8 AM the next morning and I sat down Sunday morning, July 21, 2024 to my first ever online chair yoga. This is the perfect workout for my two problem areas because it made me feel better just all day yesterday after one time. Thank you, thank you thank you from a former Transformational Breathwork Facilitator!

I just recently discovered your Senior Shape Fitness videos and I love them. I am recovering from extensive ankle surgery and your various chair yoga videos are exactly what I need. I so appreciate that you have several videos available so I have a variety to pick from. Your explanation of core use, stretches and breathing are very helpful. As do many seniors, I have some hearing loss but your videos are clear and your speech is understandable. I give you a 5 Star rating on all levels. I make time to do at least a 30 minute session everyday and am seeing improvement in just a couple of weeks. Thank you so much.

I have bad knee conditions, and when i do normal Yoga I give more tension to my knee my physiotherapist suggested chair yoga and oh god I feel so so so happy. Thank you tons for making this relaxing routine.
Thank you 6 sessions in and my hinges were so rusty and it was so pain full but now so many of the creak’s are going I will continue to do another week to see how I am feeling next weekend I definitely feel more energised and more flexible I am 70 next month so need to keep everything in good working order.x

You were in my head today as I was mowing. It takes me 2hour on a zero turn and my back, middle of shoulder blades almost tingle burn with slight pain. I heard you say shoulders down. Which I did and helped somewhat. Suddenly I realized my forearms were on the arm rests. I put them up which allowed my arms to be lower, shoulders lower and instant relief. Pain free not there yet but the relief was enough for me to finish. I just did this routine for the first time and the stretches and lengthening felt great. Will have to seek out more shoulder release routines. I'm sure almost all the yoga and Pilates will help. My sincere appreciation for helping me get relief from being tossed around on the mower. Shoulders down, don't let them creep up. My new mantra. p.s. wearing my senior shape shirt in the picture.

I have some disability with my skeletal system...which means it is not good for me to do calisthenics--too much bouncing. Now that the pool is closed for maintenance, I thought Chair Yoga could support my water aerobics exercise. It does. I receive a very good workout without impact on my skeletal system.  Love it!

This is just what I needed. I had been doing Lucy Wyndham’s workout for two years but unable to continue because of painful muscles and joints since August 2023. I was finally diagnosed with Polymyalgia Rheumatica after a severely painful 4 months wait, numerous blood tests, x-rays and various medication before I got to see a Rheumatologist who diagnose PMR. This stretching has helped the stiffness in both muscles and joints this morning and I have relief already!! So glad I found you on UA-cam this morning. I Loved the new chair energizing yoga, but I missed the hand stretches. My hand gets very tight from arthritis and that stretch helps me for a whole day. I did it myself after the routine. Love your videos, keep them coming. Juli T

You were in my head today as I was mowing. It takes me 2hour on a zero turn and my back, middle of shoulder blades almost tingle burn with slight pain. I heard you say shoulders down. Which I did and helped somewhat. Suddenly I realized my forearms were on the arm rests. I put them up which allowed my arms to be lower, shoulders lower and instant relief. Pain free not there yet but the relief was enough for me to finish. I just did this routine for the first time and the stretches and lengthening felt great. Will have to seek out more shoulder release routines. I'm sure almost all the yoga and Pilates will help. My sincere appreciation for helping me get relief from being tossed around on the mower. Shoulders down, don't let them creep up. My new mantra. p.s. wearing my senior shape shirt in the picture.

I have some disability with my skeletal system...which means it is not good for me to do calisthenics--too much bouncing. Now that the pool is closed for maintenance, I thought Chair Yoga could support my water aerobics exercise. It does. I receive a very good workout without impact on my skeletal system.  Love it!

This is just what I needed. I had been doing Lucy Wyndham’s workout for two years but unable to continue because of painful muscles and joints since August 2023. I was finally diagnosed with Polymyalgia Rheumatica after a severely painful 4 months wait, numerous blood tests, x-rays and various medication before I got to see a Rheumatologist who diagnose PMR. This stretching has helped the stiffness in both muscles and joints this morning and I have relief already!! So glad I found you on UA-cam this morning. Thank you so much for putting videos up for others to gain by- New Sub here!!! 🙏🏻❤️

I Loved the new chair energizing yoga, but I missed the hand stretches. My hand gets very tight from arthritis and that stretch helps me for a whole day. I did it myself after the routine. Love your videos, keep them coming.

What beautiful workouts! I've been looking for something effective and appealing So many mobility /recovery chair workouts just haven't caught my attention because they seem to be an after thought without much care, but after two new hips and two new knees (from a life of sports / workouts) this is exactly what I need.
