Standing Pilates Workout for Seniors & Beginners || Gentle & Effective Full Body 25 minutes

  • Great, effective and gentle full body all standing Pilates workout. These exercises are perfect for Seniors and Beginners or anyone who is not comfortable getting on the floor or on their hands and knees.
    We will work all the major muscle groups in this full body workout. There are lots of posture and balance exercises as well. Everything is low impact and effective.
    As always, go at your own pace and work your way up if you find some the exercises challenging. Just go slow, take a break when needed and return when you are ready.
    You don’t need any equipment for this standing Pilates workout with the exception of a chair to aid with some moves including stretching.
    We will finish the workout feeling relaxed yet energized!

    I am 86 years old. I go to a studio for reformer work Mondays and Fridays. I do yourclasses Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday to keep myself moving in between studio classes. I'm so happy I found you, Lauren. You are magic!!❤

    I have really been enjoying your pilates and barre workouts. I find my posture improving, and my knees and hips less reactive. I've been working on remembering to keep my shoulders back and down, my core engaged, and my pelvis slightly tucked. Thank you, Lauren!😊

    First time trying Pilates at 63! This really kicks butt-- if you are keeping your core taut and posture aligned and controlling those movements! WOW. Feeling like jello but also great! Loving the challenges of all your workouts. They are just right for me and where I am in my fitness journey.

    Well that answers that question, "Wondering if this workout will be enough abs" Oh yes ! Check that off for the day. Thanks for keeping us in check with the abs. So easy to (undo) the engagement. I have been working hard on not popping the lower ribs. Found that not only helps for my tummy to be more flat, but immediately helps me line up my spine from top to bottom when my sciatica is roaring and pain relief is immediate. Good Workout !!! Oh and thanks for keeping us "Honest" !

      Hi, yes I have a question,
      I'm getting cramp in my neck, after getting out of bed in the morning. Is there an exercise that can help me? I've purchased a pillow, to see if it helps.

      That's why I love Lauren she give us cues with a warm up and cool down and always answers our comments. So many You Tube videos these days are just music and some even say be sure to warmup so one would need to do a separate warmup which isn't appropriate for a 65 year old like me with Arthritis.

    Amazing, I haven't done any exercise for 6 months except gardening and walking. I needed to beat my sluggish phase and this workout was amazing, I did sweat and I feel in my legs massively the workout. Such a calm and lovely instructor and I plan to thus this every morning to get my body ready fir the day.

    I think I’m so conditioned to think fast and heavy is what is effective, so my mind was telling me during this one that it wasn’t doing anything, but at the same time, I feel nice and relaxed and enjoyed the movements. Love the variety you offer!

      Thanks Kimber! It's still super effective, but you're right, sometimes it can be difficult to slow down. If you wanted to add a little intensity to this one (and other standing pilates) you could add some wrist and ankle weights :)

    did this workout after the 30 minute hitt cardio. great job. no strain on my knees and felt challenged. met my zone minutes with mostly fatburn. I think that at my age and with my knee, 10,000 steps a day is too much. I am finding that with 4000 to 6000 steps a day and some strength training I am meeting my goals. Thanks so much for your videos. The every other day home walking workouts have been helping me to shed weight and I don't want to give them up.

    Lauren, I am really enjoying your videos. Ive been doing them for 3 mo. now. I like that you have such a variety of programs at all different time lengths so i can customize my work out based on how much time i have and what areas i want to work. I see patients at a weight loss clinic and exercise is a part of every patient's plan. If they do not have a routine, I will give them your name to start exercising. My one suggestion for a new routine, for me, would be this- i get migranes, and on those days cannot work out in the morning. Come afternoon or evening when headache is better, I want to work out but I can't do standing or bouncing workouts. Im looking for a complete work out 45-1hr routine that is all mat work (including weights). Thank you again for making me feel stronger, more flexible, and more stable.

    I had not stretched alot of the muscles that I stretched today since my spine surgery two years ago. The movements and stretching felt relieving on my back. Thank you for thinking about us seniors and our exercise needs.

    Thanks, Lauren, for this workout. I have been doing your standing workouts for a few weeks now, and this morning my lower back was really bothering me. I may have overdone it yesterday. But I didn't want to skip a day, so I was happy to find this gentle, standing workout. Your workouts are great. I love that they are challenging. But every now and then it's also nice to do an easy, gentle one. Thanks again!

    Thank you so much for your videos. I'm currently recovering from Lipoedema extraction surgery of my legs and my mobility is still poor. I've been craving moving my body as I did pre-surgery but it's tough finding movements I can actually execute. Your videos are helping me get those exercises endorphins that I crave so much whilst I recover and I'm sure its helping with swelling and lymphatic system too.
