    As someone who's done a PPL and held a license for a few years, I'm aware it's just never possible to simulate the real chucking around you get when you start your engine. That said, many years now since I did my license, I can no longer afford that as a hobby, so VR simming is the way forward for me now. VR already gives incredible immersion, but anything that enhances that immersion is a potential game changer. So I'll likely give this a go.

    Yeah it's Capital Golf Course just other side of Centre Dandenong Rd from the Airport . Cool some times to sit on side of the Road & have the planes come in over you onto the run ways .

    Go do yourself a massive favor and book an introductory flight lesson in a c172. You get to be on the controls for like 15 to 60 min (whatever you choose) on a real c172.
    I did this a year ago. It was an amazing experience to say the least! They let me do everything from taxing to even landing!
    Also. I highly suggest giving MSFS a go. Don't listen to the die hard x-plane fanboys with attachment issue's, and just try it out for yourself. The c172 flight model feels really realistic to me. And the better weather engine in msfs also adds to the realism. Not to mention the graphics, which are really underrated in the flight sim community.. Immersion is all about tricking your brain in to thinking that you're actually flying the real deal. And good graphics help immensely with that.

      Yes agree. I have been in a number of light aircraft over the years but all slightly bigger than the C172. I am actually looking for a G1000 variant which I havent been able to find at my local GA airport. On the east coast of Australia I have found a fellow UA-camr who has one and has offered to take me up should I get over there someday. Thanks for tuning in........

    The only feel is the airplane will initially grab so lift in the plane but not much sound and no vibration

    Buttkicker Gamer Plus or Pro? Just 1 attached to your seat or 4 in the corners??

    • @CessSim
      @CessSim  Рік тому

      Neither. The buttkicker is mounted under the floor of the sim (in centre) which I have raised.

    Can you show us a video of your simulator & how you put it together? Did you purchase it together or built yourself individually

      Hi and thanks for tuning in. That would be a big video. I have a few videos on my playlist on the simulator build. Essentially designed by myself and built individually with some purchased components. Is there anything specific you are looking at I can help with?

    There's a slight flap vibration, mostly noise however as the airplane is already vibrating.

    What software are you using to transfer the telemetry from the sim to the Buttkicker?
    On my sim rig, I've installed a Buttkicker under the seat and a base shaker on each corner.
    I'm running the HaptiConnect app, and I'm kinda underwhelmed, TBH.

      Hi mate and thanks for tuning in. I am currently using XP Realistic v2 as the software, however I am looking to use simshaker software in due course which I have heard requires a dedicated sound card. Looking to test that out in the new year (amongst a few other upgrades under consideration).........

      Hi Dylan. Thanks for tuning in. Not sure what settings you are referring to here. This is a transducer which talks directly to the speaker output. It can be locally adjusted up or down via the controller that comes with it. Are you referring to XPRealistic Prov2 software ??

      Hi buddy and thanks for tuning in. I use a buttkicker gamer plus bundle which includes its own amplifier. You can buth the buttkicker transducer only but you will require an amplifier regardless. @@shi4stone I bought the AuraSound AST-2B-4 Pro Bass Shaker. It doesn't come with an amp, so I bought a Fosi Audio M03 Subwoofer Amplifier 200 W Mono Channel to go with it. In fact I bought two of the shakers, but have only installed one currently. It's very powerful. Possibly overkill. Lol

    beautiful flight sim set up, have your tried VR? I really is amazing in VR in a flight deck whether a Cessna or 737.

    • @CessSim
      @CessSim  2 роки тому +2

      Thanks Clayton. I havent tried VR yet, and to be honest, I do like the feel of being able to physically touch the dials, switches etc. A personal preference although I can imagine the immersion would be great in VR. Over time, I might look to do both. Thanks for your words on my sim, really appreciated....

      @@clayton4115 _VR is the only way to actually be sitting in the cockpit._
      I would think sitting in an actual cockpit is the only way to be sitting in a cockpit. And I say this as someone that regularly 'plays' MSFS 2020 with a Quest 2 or a Reverb G2. While VR is superb, I can't do much longer than about a 45 minute session before needing to take a break due to severe eye fatigue. Also, for me, it's well-nigh impossible to do anything but the most basic of cockpit control due to the horrific VR control mechanisms.

    Nice video ... Can you give some feedback on SOUND of the device for APT use ? Will neighbors be annoyed ? Will it vibrate thru the floor. Looking seriously in getting this. I have MSFS XPLANE and DCS...
    Also are you navigating to the runway using GPS ? Are you tracking your plane on a screen ? I am always confused why there is no signage leading you to the take off point ... like an onramp on the freeway only smaller... or right on the ground.
    How do you know where the runway is ? too many roads and options.

    • @CessSim
      @CessSim  2 роки тому

      Hi Marc. Sound is great and worthwhile if you want it. Depends on how high you have the sound and where you live as to neighbours. No it will not vibrate thru floor as you can adjust intensity of vibration. I use software called navigation for getting around on the ground. Has maps of airports which I use. You can also use the MFD zoomed in although lower detail than Navigraph. Hope this helps.

      @@marcw.5492 Sorry Marc. I meant "Navigraph" not navigation. It is an annual subscription service where you also get the airport plates (approach, layouts etc). Very useful for navigating around the airports.
