Such a clever product and amazing how much the cost on having FMCs has come down. Boxes like these 5 years ago were $1000 for one aircraft type. We live in a golden age of sim accessibility.

At the launch price, you would have to buy 6 additional faceplates before this becomes cheaper than buying 7 seperate Winwing CDUs. Once the launch price is over, the deal will get even worse. The main problem is going to be the price here, so it'll have to be significantly better than the Winwing one to make any sense.

Looks great. Still working on a WW Cpit build (very limited in EUR in the moment), but if WW is not delivering, I have to check out alternatives.
Purchased! The faceplate are a bit high in price, and not thrilled about having to give up an HDMI port especially because display over USB-C is a thing but I’m excited to have one CDU for all the airliners!

Are their prices in US dollars, if so it cost $750 with 1x extra plate here in OZ, winwings are set to cost $200 aud each, so effectively half the price.
Will be sticking with winwin when released.
You know that all these exorbitantly priced CDUs will become obsolete the moment WinWing release their $100-150 CDU. Even the DIY version that only needs you to solder 6 wires is much preferable that having to pay $100 for a plastic faceplate (not to mention the $350 of the CDU itself)...
This is a great idea, though the price is a bit prohibitive. Given the face plates don't have any electronics, just button passthroughs and magnets, I expected it to be around ~$25 each, max $50. At $100, it's a little ridiculous.
For $100 each, I expect the buttons to be integrated into the face plates, such that the button locations can be customized for each face plate / FMC, for different aircraft including CRJs, BAE 146, Saabs, etc.
I'm on the other side of the fence. This is not a new concept, early physical FMS units were 4 digits in price for each different aircraft model. I think this is incredibly affordable, opening up simpit technology to the masses.

Checked it out, price is a little steep. If they'd offer one more faceplate with it, I'd buy it.
If you didn't already know, Winwing is making theirs due to release early next year, its $130 dollars individually for the a320/737 variants, only two*, yes you lose the ability to swap between, but its way cheaper, most wouldn't be swapping between anyway, they'd just stick to 1 airframe

Really appreciate you covering and showing this product. Like others comment, I think the price is a bit too steep for my liking as well. It's a great concept though and something to keep an eye on in case the Winwing FCU/MCDUs that are to come out end up not living up to expectations. Thanks again, cheers!

i love the way this looks but the 99$ for each additional plate seems a bit excessive.

Really clever and cool design, the only problem I have with these MCDU's is the quality of the screens they put in there. The viewing angle is always really bad and the glare and such. I will wait for one with an OLED screen regardless of the price.

Good idea but the winwing units complete are only just a little more expensive than the face plates from this company. So a bit of a no brainer till this firm drops the price.

I am not understanding why there is a HDMI cable that needs to be connected to a second monitor. I have various programs on my second monitor like Navigraph Charts and Sayintentions ATC would I still be able to use them on my second monitor along with the Pu cdu?

This should work with 2024 right? I'm kind of hesitant to spend that kind of money on something if we're unsure how it'll work with the new sim.
Not much difference between 2020 and 2024, so I would say it will work.

Clearly, the 'free' plate that comes with this will be gereric. You 100% will need to purchase that airbus/Boeing plate to justify the price...meaning an outlay of at least $450. I like the concept but that price is insane in the face of WinWing's vastly cheaper competition. Airbus did good in making the MCDU the same across all their models - the WinWing will sell like hotcakes to all the airbus enthusiasts. Of course, profiles will be available for Boeing...all the buttons will work though yes, you'll ignore some of the key txt.
They don’t make a generic plate. You choose from the airplane specific ones they make. Winwing is definitely cheaper though.

I didn’t in my testing but I will know more when I stream with it later.
Still using my WebFMC with tablet, much cheaper for the time being varying between B737,A330 and DHC8-Q4 aircraft in Xplane 12.

Will these units still work with MSFS 2024 once the aircraft developers (as Fenix or PMDG) upgrade their products?
They said MSFS 2024 is being updated and it's going to end soon

Contrast on replacement CDU is not clear and colors don't match well
Is the faceplate for looks only? For Example, if I get the one for the 737 but want to fly the 777 will still work, but just not look realistic to the plane?
Some of the button placements are different between the two planes and so you’d have to memorize the differences I assume to make it work for other planes. I know they mapped all the buttons depending on the airplane you are flying.

I have the PIU MCDU the only issue with it is some airbus aircraft it’s hard to get the screen full screen
This software does it automatically which is great because I hate complexity.
Wish it was USB, I only have 1 HDMi port on my laptop.

@@QazmeHabu wow true, this is kind of obnoxious. Even considering it a screen I think is a little bit obnoxious if it could be driven some other way.
HDMI input for a second monitor is a big nono for me....the other premium options on the market are typeC so no stress of being stutterless.....not to mention the widths and heights on the real FMC's are all different- so when you snap size the panel on the extra screen its slightly squished - that would drive me insane.

This panel is already outdated and way too expensive... you can get 2 these dedicated panels for the A320 and 737 from Winwing for lest than the cost of this base unit. Companies need to do better if they do not want to go out of business. Nothing against your review though! Great job

No it actually uses the navdata from the sim.
For this price it should have its own display processor so it is not dependent on software and extending displays. Can't use it in any other sims than MSFS and Windows.

Way too expensive for what it is, they'll drop that price when WinWing drops their FMS. They're just milking the market right now and better to hold off and save your money.
