Same concert, Killer Queen/I'm in love with my car. I'd be curious what you think of Roger going ape on the drums and singing better than most lead singers.
I was fresh out of high school and at this concert at the Montreal forum, Nov. 25th 1981. One of the best nights of my life. He was a master of crowd control. Best ever, RIP Freddie
Wow 😲 that is just beyond imagination, do you know how Bohemian Rhapsody sounded? I believe the one on the official release is from the previous night, 24 November.
@@queenremix1353 bohemian rhapsody was a live experience that was better than any recording that I have ever heard. I know they recorded both nights, used some parts from each. Yes, I do believe you are right, the official recorded version of that song was the one done on the 24th.

@@queenremix1353 its been a long time. I don't recall much variation in wording, but I do believe the piano opening portion was longer, a little more layer back and slower, maybe. This is their BEST ever. Love Roger on the backing vocals too. Freddie’s vocals on this same song at Milton Keynes aren’t as perfect but he definitely goes to church. You can see even more of his personalities and how he was always changing things up. I have to listen to both versions if I’m in a Queen mood.
One of those super talented performers that can both produce the crafted recordings AND knew how to "play" an audience and bend them to their will. No one like Freddie but add in the other three and you just have, well, Queen!
Freddie Mercury's headboard on his bed was a piano. If he woke up in the night with inspiration he would reach over his head, cross his arms and play his newest inspiration.
Freddie Mercury was that rarest of performers: a fantastic singer, brilliant lyricist, and a born entertainer. Each concert was a masterclass in crowd control and stage presence. KZ Tandingan is another such entertainer. Adam Lambert has proven to be worthy of lifting Freddie's microphone as Queen's front singer.
When asked "which person, living or dead, would you most like to have performed with that you haven't", Floor Jansen chose Freddie Mercury. Very appropriate, as many people have described her as the female equivalent in range, versatility and stagecraft. You commented on the backing vocals from the other three bandmates - I know Brian May has said he believes a large part of what made the band work was how well their voices complemented each others'. Roger Taylor (how he sings with his head twisted to the mic like that is beyond me) has the highest pitched voice, so the high head voice is most likely him. Freddie could sing pretty much anything though, and hold several hundred thousand people in the palm of his hand in doing so. But then Brian could do pretty much anything on guitar, Roger on drums, and John was, or appeared to be, the steadying influence, with a very strong bassline. Of course, he also designed and built Brian's amplifier, as he is a qualified electronic engineer. Roger is a dentist and Brian, of course, is Dr May now with his PhD in astrophysics. I think his lack of a knighthood discredits the honours system, as he has more than earned it - even playing the National Anthem from the roof of Buckingham Palace on one notable occasion. How EPIC is that?
I saw them live once in early 1980. This was near the end of Freddie's long hair and spandex outfits stage but he still had them both at that point. It was in the middle of the European leg of their "Night at the Opera" tour but they were recording for a live album so the two nights in Paris were called, "Live Killers" which is what the live album was called when it was released. We did not have the best seats in the house but I felt lucky to even be there. What I can say about Freddie is if he was on stage, everyone's eyes were glued to him. You could not take your eyes off of him. His stage presence was like nothing anyone has ever had before and will ever have again. I was only 19 years old at the time and the one unfortunate thing was that that concert ruined every other concert that I ever attended afterwards. Nothing else ever came close and at 19 I had a lot of concerts still left in me. One of AC/DC's early (yes...Bon Scott) concerts and a Rush 2112 concert came close but nothing could live up to the very high bar set by Queen.
BTW, Brian May, the guitarist for Queen (the one with the BIG hair) is one of hte most accomplished people on the planet. Besides writing 9 of Queen's biggest hits, get this: Following the death of Mercury in 1991, aside from the 1992 tribute concert, the release of (1995) and the 1997 tribute single to Mercury, "No-One but You (Only the Good Die Young)" (written by May), Queen were put on hiatus for several years but were eventually reconvened by May and Taylor for further performances featuring other vocalists. In 2005, a Planet Rock poll saw May voted the seventh-greatest guitarist of all time. He was ranked at No. 26 on s list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time". In 2012, he was ranked the second-greatest guitarist in a magazine readers poll. In 2001, May was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Queen and in 2018 the band received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
I saw Queen in concert at The Spectrum in Philly on one of their tours. I was big into concert photography and I snuck down pretty close to the stage. One of my favorite concerts ever.
Thoroughly enjoyed this one Maggie! Save Me from the same Montreal gig(s) is one of my favorite live Queen performances, so I'd recommend that one for your reaction.
I have to say I’ve always loved watching the live queen performances there’s just something about them that sets it apart from the studio recording soo much so that I prefer their live performance. Freddie seems to become a new animal on stage. So happy you reacted to this video. I’d also recommend who want to live forever live in 1986. 👑
The best version of this song. Freddie was great at improvising his own songs differently. Love it. Great reaction. What I love is that John Deacon (base) and Freddie's keyboard left hand are magically fused. Perfect.
I love Queen!!! Have you reacted to Queen, the Live Aide performance ? If you have not ,please do. It's their most perfect performance ever, heard round the world. Freddy blew all the other performers out of the water. Their performance is iconic !
There’s an apocryphal story you may have heard, that someone asked Freddie if he played any other instruments besides piano, and he answered, “the audience, darling.” Even if it never happened, it’s SO true.

My wife is the BIGGEST Queen nerd I've ever met in my life. They were definitely a band I didn't pay enough attention to. If I was afforded just one chance to go back in time I'd use it to take my wife to a Queen concert. And if I got a second opportunity, I'd go back to see Jimi Hendrix live, my favorite guitarist of all time who constantly inspires me on guitar. There will never be another person like Freddie Mercury...
I agree with the previous suggestions of checking out their performance from Live Aid. Not only was it not a Queeen crowd, Freddy was recovering from a throat infection and was advised by his doctor not to sing. He had 65k+ people eating out of the palm of his hand from the first notes of their set which was about 20 minutes for each performer. There is a reason it is consistently referred to as one of the greatest performances of all time.
To this day Superman wears a Queen t-shirt. I saw them live at MSG in '78, '79 and '80, they never had a warm-up band , the ticket said 8PM showtime, you can be damn sure Queen would be ready at 8PM. Btw, Freddie gave his signature mic to the crowd to say a few words, when he got it back the rod was missing, that was NYC in the 70's for ya.

Catching up on the videos I hadn’t seen yet. Queen is my favourite band. Since I was 6. Um. Old lady here. I was a young teen at this concert. And I introduced my parents to Bohemian Rhapsody. They loved it too.
During the audience participation Freddie ad libbed because Brian broke a string -- you see Brian leave for a second. No one notices, they were pure professionals. Love Queen. ❤❤❤
👑😁😁 yes Maggie i love it 🤣🤣 soo much fun being had by yourself. Its why i keep tuning in. Check out Queen on Live Aid in 1984 i think. They lit up wembley that day. we just passed Freddie's death anniversary of 30 years . I still hard to believe that he has been gone that long. I am so glad that they video alot of their concerts so that People can learn about Queen. THey will endure forever.
Obsessed! Yeah…Queen live would have been amazing. Sadly, my parents did not play “Bohemian Rhapsody” for me as a child. 🤣 Music was sadly not a big part of my childhood. I guess that’s why I rebelled and originally set out as a voice major in college (true story). But love seeing you have fun.
Awesome reaction to a great performer. I loved the way Freddie, and the rest of Queen for that matter had such a command performance on anything I've seen them do live. A crown, for a crowning performance.
Hey there, i could not leave this video without leaving a coment. I love Queen and this song brings me a lot. I came across your channel by accident and the energy you bring is amazing. Its exactly what i feel, and could be happier to see that kinda of "feel" displayed at is full. I've shoulda try it because its seems amazing. Representing all that emotion is just amazing. I was not having a great day but you really helped. Thanks for that, have a very good day yourselfm
Watching other bands after Queen is sort of like watching other horse races after seeing Secretariat win the Triple Crown. And girlfriend, if you haven’t yet, you MUST watch their entire Live Aid performance. It’s the next best thing to seeing them live.
I never saw them live sadly. I was 10 when they last toured in 86, and my brother said he'd take me next time but sadly that day never came. He was lucky enough to see them in 84 & 86. I've seen them with Paul Rodgers and Adam Lambert, but there'll never be anyone like Freddie.
Any parent, who grew up listening to Queen, who didn't present them to their kids has done them a great diservice. My kids got a steady diet as younguns'. In fact my daughter as a teenager, she'll be 30 next month, as we were driving and when "Bohemian Rhapsody" would come would start to head bang just like in the scene in "Wayne's World". I can personally attest to their greatness live as I saw them on this tour in September 1980 at Madison Square Garden, Another great one from the concert was a new song off the Game album called "Save Me". It is definately worth a listen.
@MaggieRenee I'm trying right now to get my Xmas playlist together everything from Gene Autry Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer to Jonathan Antoine Holy Night and everyone in between

This was such a flashback to my teen years in the early 80's. They were too big to come around where I live. Was such a shame I didn't get to see them live back then. I have seen so many of the great bands from the 70's and 80's but this one I never got to see live except on tv in Live Aid.
There will never be another Freddie, and now he is the brightest star in the sky. Have you seen the recent Pentatonix TV performance of this? I think he would have approved. Arohanui (big love) from New Zealand :)
Thank you for your comment. Did you like the new Pentatonix video reaction I recently posted? Will you be there for my 195K Subscriber Celebration Live Stream tomorrow?
I wish I could go back in time and tell my younger self to listen to Queen! I could have seen them in 1982 in Portland when I was 14 if I had been a fan. Instead, I was listening to bands like Hall and Oates and other Top 40 acts. That would have been amazing to see them live!
wembley live in 1986 only one, with my uncle. Best concert ever. though I was a bit young (7 at the time) been a fan since my uncle put them on during christmas when i was 4.
Yep. I saw them live. It was at Knebworth, Hertfordshire UK in 1986. 120,000 people watching what was to be their last ever performance together, although no one knew it at the time. I would bet he would still sound incredible if he was still alive today. It’s great to see so many youngsters now appreciating there music and incredible talent. I have tickets to see Queen (Brian May, Roger Taylor and Adam Lambert) at the O2 Arena in London which hopefully will go ahead in June 22 (Cancelled twice in 20 and 21 for obvious reasons). You must watch anything from Wembley 1986. Would suggest “Now I’m here”. Ok I’m rambling on a little now. RIP Freddie.
RIP Rock and the era of the Rock Star. They just don't make them like that any more. I'm only 34, so never got a chance to see Freddie live. But I did get to see Robert Plant perform live, and that level of performer is just on another level.

Love your sing along i reckon you could front Queen 😁 i'm sure Freddie wouldnt mind. Being british myself its amazing how many good bands come out of Britain 😁👍👍

Perfectly done! 'Routining' was Freddie's big habit and thus Queen was always Perfectly United Performers.
Thank u Maggie. Ur adorable! Freddy's voice is out of this world! Queen is greatest !

we just passed Freddie's death anniversary of 30 years .
Wow, didn't know that! I can totally see you singing along with us on our livestreams and having a blast. See you soon. 🤗💖🎶
All rock songs have one soul that will not die and will stick in our hearts, until whenever rock will not die
Queen was absolutely amazing! Freddy became the song!
I was lucky to have seen Queen about a dozen times, from 1973 to the Wembley concert in 1986. They were always amazing and totally professional!
Awesome reaction to a great performer. I loved the way Freddie, and the rest of Queen for that matter had such a command performance on anything I've seen them do live. A crown, for a crowning performance.
I saw them live in 1980 on "The news of the world " tour. They opened with "We will rock you" AWESOME!!!
Maggie you sounded like a founder member of Queen on this. Massive congrats and lots of love!
Unbelievable live!!! Saw them twice!!! Three times counting Live Aid!!!
Have you seen queen Live aid 1985? Freddie was told that morning not to sing coz he had a throat infection, but he still killed it
Just absolutely fabulous, brought me back 40 years, cheers.
Freddie king of rock 🤘 please live aid queen 85 reaction.
A crown 👑 for a Queen 👑
@MaggieRenee I'm trying right now to get my Xmas playlist together everything from Gene Autry Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer to Jonathan Antoine Holy Night and everyone in between

This was such a flashback to my teen years in the early 80's. They were too big to come around where I live. Was such a shame I didn't get to see them live back then. I have seen so many of the great bands from the 70's and 80's but this one I never got to see live except on tv in Live Aid.
Maggie you sound good with Freddie ;D
It's funny how at the beginning they didn't believe that he could actually sing lol
Freddie Forever!
Love Queen… they are just so tight and artistic 🧡
Maggie! You obviously GET IT!!!!
I can only listen to this version since I was 5 and I'm now 42..simply breathtaking🖤
Saw them LIVE in 1980 in Toronto, Canada
Some more decades before someone else like him will be born , and I'm not sure. Just Love Freddie so much
I wish I could go back in time and tell my younger self to listen to Queen! I could have seen them in 1982 in Portland when I was 14 if I had been a fan. Instead, I was listening to bands like Hall and Oates and other Top 40 acts. That would have been amazing to see them live!
I saw them in 1978 in Germany. Blew my mind.
Nice to see someone which such talent being surprised by Queen 🤘🤘🤘
I love how he plays with the audience. Gone too soon.....
wembley live in 1986 only one, with my uncle.
Best concert ever. though I was a bit young (7 at the time)
been a fan since my uncle put them on during christmas when i was 4.
Great performance.👍

I've seen an awful lot of bands, played in one & toured
But I saw Queen 6 times. Nothing compares x
RIP Rock and the era of the Rock Star. They just don't make them like that any more. I'm only 34, so never got a chance to see Freddie live. But I did get to see Robert Plant perform live, and that level of performer is just on another level.
Have you heard/reacted to David Bowie's duet with Annie Lennox at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert? If not, you really should. Phenominal.
