Wasn't he a wonderful, talented artist? I spent my 24th birthday at this concert. Traveled a road trip of over 5000 miles from northern Alberta down to Quebec. This song was one of the highlights of the night. Imagine hearing Freddie from the 8th-row center? It's a memory I'll have forever.
He / they were brilliant live, I was lucky enough to see them live 3 times. The first one was 6 months after this one 29th May 1982 at Elland Rd, Leeds for my 13th birthday, and the second & third times were at Manchester & Knebworth in 86. My favourite concert was Leeds closely followed by Knebworth
Anyone else figured out the 5th most important person on stage during this song? The stage worker handing Freddie his mic and taking it every time he sits back at the piano. Perfect support work without getting noticed.
Nicereaction, I understand what you are saying about not being to experience something like this. No auto tune back then gave the artist much more freedom in their live performances. Freddie is a perfect example of that, never 2 live performances the same. There is no soul in todays "new" music.
We can’t see Queen perform as they used to, but this might be the next best thing. In January, IMAX theaters across the nation are showing this entire Montreal concert. It’s January 18 to 21.
what a real and beautiful reaction, I can only watch this once in a while as it breaks my heart watching Freddie, but what a once in a lifetime band , especially live
I know how you feel. It breaks my heart watching Freddie also and I cry almost every day but I cannot stop wanting to watch him perform, listen to his singing voice and his talking voice during interviews. Oh how I wish he was still here.. 😔💜
Absolutely amazing performance from the best band and frontman of a band ever, my introduction to Queen was at Hammersmith Oden in 1975 and was hooked on the band, especially on the night there song White Queen, I also attended LiveAid at Wembley Stadium in 1885 and again Wembley Stadium in 1986 which was the end of Queens Magic Tour, Queen put on an extra show in 1986 at Knebworth Park 🇬🇧 Uk, which proved to be Freddie’s very last live performance ever, the crowd at Knebworth was estimated to be 140 -150 thousand people, Freddie carried on in the studio until he was to ill to sing , great reaction thanks 🙏
He's the greatest frontman in rock and roll. Yes, watching so many of these great artists from my youth is definitely bittersweet! Fortunately I did get to see almost all of them live; but then we didn't have UA-cam for all this great access to musical history.
I saw Queen live in 1976, at Cardiff castle in Wales UK. Seems like yesterday but it was a long time ago but I remember Freddie threw red roses to the crowd and it rained a lot throughout their superb performance.
rain in Cardiff.... sounds about right😆😆😆. that said, you were lucky to be getting rain then. '76 was the year of a very severe drought. if i recall correctly, we had no rain at all until sometime in September.
@@davidperkins6752I saw Bob Marley at Cardiff City's football ground in June 76 and it was torrential rain. Saw Status Quo and Hawkwind at Cardiff csstle in July 76 and it was very hot and sunny and then I saw Queen in the castle in Sept 76 and it was raining again. All my memories of 76, apart from the 2 gigs, are of extreme heat though. I saw the Sex Pistols in Dec 76 and it was freezing! A good year for live music even though I was only 14 for Bob and 15 for the other 3.
I intensely love them and their songs. John Deacon is soo cute with his chillin vibe. Freddie is magnetic, can't takes my eyes off of him, so sexy and handsome. Roger is too cute. Brian is as cute. All of them are sooo talented. God bless them all. ❤❤
I can attest to the fact these guys put on a hell of a show. Saw them on this tour at Madison Square Garden in September 1980. Another great one from this show is "Save Me" a new song, then, off "The Game" album.
I've heard this song probably 2,500 times and every SINGLE time, I lose a few tears. For exactly the reason you say. Freddie and Queen saved my life. I was struggling with a really mean divorce and so many times I thought about doing the unalive thing. One day I discovered this beautiful man and his beautiful band. I am as straight as it gets but this man is magical! He had been dead for 20 years but he saved my life. I still can't explain it but he did.
Having grown up with Queen they hold a special place in my heart, and whatever other musical avenues I travel down I always drift back. What is often overlooked in the focus on Freddie, and sometimes Brian, is how they gel as a band. They all wrote hits for the group and all contributed hugely to the songcraft. Seeing and hearing this live the way the four of them interweave their lines to make something so much bigger than the individual parts is the magic.
Great live performance by one of in my opinion the top 3 greatest rock bands ever!, can never go wrong with Freddie, and Roger's drumming is always outstanding!
@@nortski78 No, you're wrong. Extreme close ups have been done, and it clearly shows tears flowing from his eyes, many people have seen the footage and they no sweat from tears, other footage of various concerts, Freddie did cry at times during some songs.
Liked & subscribed! The best Queen live performance outside of their one at Live Aid! If you haven’t done this already you will be blown away! Any Queen song is a good one & they were almost always better live! Great reaction, thank you, greetings from Australia 🇦🇺
Fantastic performance by the entire band. Roger is really working double time back there on the drums and singing a duet on this one with Freddie. Another unbelievable live performance by Queen is White Queen, live at Odeon, Hammersmith. It is perfection and the instrumental portion of the song will blow you away. Thank you for your reaction.
Another great reaction Queen was a staple for me when I was younger I was blessed to see them several times in concert and to be there live was just amazing he was really a showman and that voice was incredible the band in total was iconic every time they performed
Ooo Queen, absolutely great! One of the best bands ever, Freddie was a unique talent! His vocals were just amazing, the rest of the band were amazing too, they were a great match for him! Great reaction! 🌹

Yet another of my youth fan bands. I also had the good fortune to see them live with Freddie in Sweden 1984 and 1986. Amazing singer and showman on stage. ❤
Freddie Mercury was the greatest frontman EVER!!!! If I'm stranded on an island for the rest of my life and had to choose 2 singers to listen to its Freddie and Steve Perry!!!!
🇸🇪 here. The first time I saw Queen live was at the (RIP) Rainbow Theatre in London 1974. I was sixteen at the time and that concert was the first time I travelled abroad (from Sweden) just to watch a rock concert. Took a cheap inside shared cabin on the ferry from Denmark, slept at a really, really cheap hotel and loved every minute 😉😁👍. Also Brian May was definitely one of the biggest reasons I started taking my guitar playing seriously. The red guitar Brian mostly use has his own story. Back when he took up playing more seriously at 16 (1963) he couldn’t afford a quality electric guitar - so he asked his father, an electric engineer, to help design and build his own guitar. The project (wholly designed and built by them) took well over a year to accomplish and the result was ”the red special”, which has been his primary guitar ever since. And of course one of my own electric guitars is a BMG Super, a recreation of the original "Old Lady" as accurately as possible and handmade in the Czech Republic for Brian's own guitar shop 😊.
Nope, at that time a friend and I were somewhere between Ankara and Tehran on our way to India (Goa) and Nepal by bus 😎🤪. However, I was at the Earls Court concert -77 where they had roughly the same setlist (I think). Many changes of clothes (including Freddie in a red and white checkered Harlequin suit) and a 2-hour long concert with almost 30 songs 😃.
Miss that gorgeous voice Freddie! 😢❤ This was his favorite written song. Dedicated to Aretha Franklin. Love original Queen - geniuses all. I do feel for those who never got to see them live. But at least you can watch video. Queen magic comes through.
5:45 Brian breaks a string and Roger, John and Freddie cover while he changes strings with crowd control. If you watch Brian goes in back and Freddie looks for him to come back. Epic
Lucky for us Queen recorded every live performance on film right from their beginning, so in a hundred years this video will still make people feel like they were there. They can remaster the film as technology evolves but the vocals will always be these 4 incredibly talented guys onstage playing their instruments to perfection with no auto tune needed, no gimmicks just pure talent. Freddie was a gift to this world and he is so missed. 👑
best group of all time the most pure talent from every member you will ever see or hear.. all natural no autotune and they sound this good....with early 80's equipment....
Over 40 years ago , hardly or any electronical tricks available, "just" what you see is and besides AC/DC I can't recall any band able to perform so charismatic as Queen. Freddy was the hero, but it extraordinary because of the performance of all 4 man.
I remember going around to m mates as a little kid and his parents had News of the World, A Day at the Races, Jazz, Sheer Heart Attack and Queen II. Possibly my first ever exposure to rock music, ever. I don't listen to them much these days but have a fondness for their early stuff to this day. Great reaction, cheers.
I saw them in the Uk in 1982 on this tour. No one could touch them live and I saw Bowie and the Rolling stones live around the same time and then Guns and Rises and Bon jovi amongst others around ten to 15 years later and they all couldn't hold a candle to this band. Freddie was amazing but it was the whole band that made the experience truly epic. You haven't lived unless you where conducted by Freddie in a vocal gymnestics monolog. God bless you Freddie and I hope you are partying hard and have found peace. true genius, true legend!
I live the fact that when Brian has an issue with his guitar, Freddie looks over, recognises Brian needs some time, and then fills for 30secs to give Brian a chance to catch up!
I think you really enjoyed that! It showed on your face, and why wouldn‘t it? What a band. Every one of them so essential to make the sound and songs we all love.
In 1981, I worked at the Montreal Forum, where this concert was filmed. So I was able to attend this concert with an employee pass. With this job, I was able to see all the major rock concerts that took place at the Forum from 1977 to 1982.
I was fortunate to see Queen in concert during this tour, at the Baltimore Civic Center in August, 1980. Freddie owned the crowd from the moment he stepped on stage. I was 18 at the time and it's still "one of those concerts".
Great reaction video!!! Thanks for giving credits to Rogers voice skills .But sadly nearly nobody honors the work of John Deacon, the bassist and best friend of Freddie. He wrote great Songs, like "We will rock you". He left the band after Freddie died. " There is no QUEEN without Freddie"!!!!
John deserves more recognition but Brian wrote "We Will Rock You". John wrote "Another One Bites the Dust" and "I Want to Break Free" (amongst others). :)
Once you 'Get' Queen...They become part of your soul and mental wallpaper. Although now in this 21st century there is so much mystique surrounding Queen, and particularly Freddie's legendary status...We who were privileged to see Queen perform live, knew instinctively that we were witnessing inimitable greatness. I was so very fortunate to attend several of their concerts in different parts of the world in the mid 80's...This band were the perfect storm, and Freddie was the God with pockets full of fairy dust, who ensured each and every ticket holder experienced the absolute time of their lives. Dear Freddie showed us inside his heart...and we will love him forever for it.❤
No clue how many times I've seen this, but I can't imagine ever not clicking to watch somebody else see it for the first time. A true classic recording. I liked your comment on Roger's exiting refrain and how it established kind of a mantra to keep searching and asking. Freddie's jam would then be the manic daily ups and downs of real interactions.
This video is actually a part of a movie they showed at cinemas back then! Queen was extremly huge and so they put it on the big screen for fans who couldn't go to a concert. I've been at the movie theatre and the whole audience went crazy, clapping and singing along! What a great expierence and memory! The footags was filmed in HD in 1981 - years before Hollywood used the HD technologie. The concert movie is available on DVD and BR in Dolby Surround 5.1 and THX 7.2 < you should buy it and see the whole concert movie! Worth every single penny! Thanks for reacting!
Fantastic voice and Group. Freddie is also nice to watch. Please watch queens performance at Live aid.the people in his life were very lucky to have him in their life. The whole group is excellent. If I had a time machine I would have loved to see them live.
Fabulous reaction. It shows such appreciation of Queen's talent's when even other artists are just full of praise. You seemed totally thrilled by this performance. It is legendary and the best rendition of a song live in my opinion. Will check out more of your reactions. Subscribed and thank you.
Man such an amazing performance that will be reacted to time and time again. Every time its just an easy excuse to watch it again. Always blown away by drummers that can sing and drum at the same time. Patting your head and rubbing your tummy x 10000 Not many can do it, you can count them on one hand... Karen Carpenter, Ringo Star, Phill Collins. This one was so good though. Rodger really nailed it. Great reaction video xx
As far as I'm concerned when Freddie, Brian, John and Roger finally came together as Queen, we had our 2nd Big Bang, and that's that!👑🌈💙 I saw Queen live in 1975 and never had the chance to see them again, but was blessed to see Queen once. I truly enjoyed your reaction and keep up the great work.
You should watch more live Queen to appreciate the talent of all four members. Also you will marvel at how Freddie was able to change his voice to suit different styles of music.
🎼🔥🎼 .. 2 for 2 Jenna ! Okay .. so I know lots of songs from many genres , and this song is my favorite song - not just from Rock .. but my favorite song. I truly enjoyed your reaction. This is the best live version and Freddie & Roger & Brian & John all were on fire. TY for showing your emotions as it played. 🎶
Don't get better than Freddie you have great taste in music love your videos and your absolutely adorable keep the videos coming Freddie absolutely the best rock front man of all time not even close
I can see by the smile on your face that Queen brings you as much joy as they bring to all of their fans. Have a great day! The song was an homage to Aretha Franklin. Not everyone finds love. Some of us have to be comfortable with ourselves. I'm love myself, the rest of you have to figure it out
wow! You and I are kind of alike as I love drummers that can sing also. I wonder how they can do basically two things once and do both so well. I saw Queen 2 times in the late 1970’s and were the best live band ever. I was so depressed when I heard he was dying and cried when he did. I know for a fact you would have been blown away if you saw them. Freddie had such a she presence. I don’t know if you have ever seen tapes of Jethro Tull live but Ian Anderson was my second favorite frontman. You should check him out if you haven’t. Great with the flute.
Somebody said the other day, Queen could go on stage and the band could begin to play but Freddie wouldn't have to sing because the crowd would take care of that. He commanded the stage and had the crowd in his hands. RIP Freddie. Never be another.
Love Queen. Freddie was amazing and the guitar great Brian May made them one of the best bands for me. Also check out Journey with Steve Perry on vocals and Neil Schon on guitar. Another of my top 3.
Freddie always was looking for a long time lover. Had an intense feeling and was afraid of being alone. Probably because he was left alone 5,000 miles away from his family at boarding school in India while his parents lived in Zanzibar
Brian actually broke a guitar string during this performance. Watch as Freddie says "Keep it going.." and he looks back to watch Brian walk back up from the back where he had his strong replaced..and it was all flawless..❣️
I read somewhere that it was olive oil on Freddie’s piano NOT beer to help keep his vocal chords strong 🤷♀️. I love this band and especially this concert.
Wasn't he a wonderful, talented artist? I spent my 24th birthday at this concert. Traveled a road trip of over 5000 miles from northern Alberta down to Quebec. This song was one of the highlights of the night. Imagine hearing Freddie from the 8th-row center? It's a memory I'll have forever.

drummer main man.

Peter Hince hizo un gran trabajo anónimo como asistente de Freddie sobre el escenario.
I got ticket in 1977 @ the BOSTON GARDEN to see QUEEN with my high school GIRLFRIEND from her birthday. Simply amazing.
I saw Queen 6 times and at Live Aid. I met them at Bingley Hall in Stafford in 1978. Such gentlemen. Greatest group EVER!🥰😍🥰
I'm old enough to have seen them six times. I've been to thousands of gigs, played hundreds, and nothing compares
I've seen this video hundreds of times and it always brings a tear to my eye. Unique band and unmatched live

Thanks for a beautiful reaction! I loved your insight and I decided to join up and see where you go on future reactions.
Oh boy!! You are in for a majestic treat ..
Queen reigns supreme!! 🌟✨🤗
Had the honor to see Queen in mid 70s' in L.A. I'll be 71 next week. Weird 🤔
I remember buying this album on vinyl in the 1970’s. A Day at the Races LP. Such a great album.
Queen Is The Best 💯,Nice Reaction Sweetheart
Fantastic voice and Group. Freddie is also nice to watch. Please watch queens performance at Live aid.the people in his life were very lucky to have him in their life. The whole group is excellent. If I had a time machine I would have loved to see them live.
I saw Queen in 1977 when I was 16 on their News of The World Tour. They opened with We Will Rock You. I will never forget that night.
No kidding!!! Core memory!
Patting your head and rubbing your tummy x 10000
Not many can do it, you can count them on one hand... Karen Carpenter, Ringo Star, Phill Collins.
This one was so good though.
Rodger really nailed it.
Great reaction video xx
Queen was my first concert as a kid (Dallas for The Game album). THEY WERE AMAZING!!!!!
Masterpiece!! Saw this live in Glasgow 1978. Was a genius even then x
Almost killed me ( for real ) when you stopped just before that moment we all wait for 😔😱
Which time?! Hahahaha I’m so sorry! Not trying to kill anyone over here, I promise. 😂😬🤍
Saw them live in 75' when bohemian rhapsody was top of the charts.....Great Live band.
I can see by the smile on your face that Queen brings you as much joy as they bring to all of their fans. Have a great day! The song was an homage to Aretha Franklin. Not everyone finds love. Some of us have to be comfortable with ourselves. I'm love myself, the rest of you have to figure it out
First time on your channel, and I enjoyed your reaction! One song you must watch live is "White Queen" from the Odeon Hammersmith, it's epic!!
The best thing he does here is at 5.34 when he sings the word 'cell' and it goes up two steps, just instinct, didn't even put any thought into it.
Scientifically proven Freddie the greatest rock singer and frontman. His voice is phenomenal.
It’s out of this world!! I could listen to Queen every day! 🔥
Love Queen. Freddie was amazing and the guitar great Brian May made them one of the best bands for me.
Also check out Journey with Steve Perry on vocals and Neil Schon on guitar. Another of my top 3.
You need to see the whole Live Aid performance. You will be shocked when you hear them sing the songs they made famous.
I saw Queen l 5 times, 2 of them were at the recording/filming of this very concert (Montreal)
Really great input, thanks.
Cool reaction! Love me some 'Ready Freddie!' 🥰🐰
I love this band and especially this concert.
notice his tear at 12:07, i get goosebumps every time
Saw Queen in Cincinnati. Yea, I'm that old
