    Kristie, congrats for your success on your weight loss journey. Thank you for sharing. I am also disabled (quadroplegia) which limits my physical activity. I have Physical and Occupational Therapy daily. I'm cared for at home. I weigh over 300 lbs. Over a year ago I started an 800 calorie diet for 3 months. I was starving myself, always hungry and, though I had lost a size and one half, I couldn't remain on this diet. I yo-yoed back up to my former weight plus gained more! I researched, for 3 months, different diets. I came across keto, checked the science and testimonies and, my Hubby and I committed to Keto. I am losing weight like crazy! I'm feeling more healthy and energetic. Our Dr. is following up with me every 3 months to monitor my diet and any effects re: Rx medication levels. Keto is working for Me! The joy I felt after losing my first pants size had me in tears. It hasn't even been a month yet that we started our Keto diet!
    Thank you for your YT Channel and programming! You have been a big help to my family. We have 2 Grandkids, who live out of our state, that we'd love to spend time with. Kristie, you have made a difference in my life. Much ❤.

      Lori Allen, Wow! I am so proud of you! I need to have the motivation you have! I Live in a Senior Community and have to just avoid all the many pot lucks and luncheons and etc because of the horrid array of foods I find uneatable for my health. I find Kristie's site extremely helpful to prepare delicious dishes exactly for my desired foods. Thanks for sharing your journey.

      I would fry spices cumin coriander turmeric and garam masala in ghee or coconut oil first for flavour. Then fry off meat in spices. Remove and fry onions garlic and jalapenos then tomatoes (optional) mix all together with meat broth and or coconut milk for a more creamy mix. Leave to bubble and thicken. Warning ... the spicy aroma will fill the house for several days! Do have a play and see if it needs tweaking for keto wise

    I made the flat bread for dinner last night. I cut into sandwich bread slices. It is way too sweet for me with the coconut flour. Today I made a toasted cheese sandwich with it and was pretty good. The cheese helped mitigate that sweetness but I think it would make great toast too. Thanks for your recipes and knowledge!

    Thanks, Kristie, was wondering if you could use lard, melted. I don't have any avocado oil. Also, just a tip: I watched Martha Stewart and when she used parchment paper she wrinkles it up in a ball first then straightens it out and it lays flat. I've been using that for my bacon and it works very well.

    Please give us the recipe. It is very difficult to hear the amounts and the back and forth between one or double recipe and poor sound. I could not find the oven temperature. So I'm playing a guessing game at the moment. Thanks for the video. It looks delicious.

    I made this recipe today and it is yummy and very very filling. Wondering though I did the carb count and I got a higher total carb count than I would usually have in one meal. If a batch made 8 servings I got a count of around 12 total carbs per serve. Obviously net carbs would be very different because of the fibre in the flour - but I do total carbs. I know you do too Kristie - how many servings would you get out of a batch? (Thank you).

      @CookingKetowithKristie  8 років тому

      +Natalie Northey I count total carbs except that I don't count the carbs in erythritol (safe sugar alcohol) or in oat fiber which is pure insoluble fiber.

    So, how many carb are in a slice of this flatbread as average? I know it would probably be a bit different if more spices were added, but how low is low in what you showed?It would be nice if the recipe, measurements and ingredients were listed in the comments or description area, as the volume on you video at UA-cam is not always great for trying to hear clearly as to what your saying.

    This looks great, thank you! Looks so yummy! I'm wondering, for the second time in the oven could you leave it on the cooling rack? I have stainless steel one I use in the oven, and that way the bread cooks on both sides at once.

      @CookingKetowithKristie  8 років тому +1

      absolutely! I ususally leave it on the cooling rack on the counter for a while so that it dries out on each side.

    Hi Kristie, A couple of comments... First you have not posted the actual recipe as promised in your video.. It looks good and I want to try it but don't want to waste the expensive coconut flour by not having the correct measurements............Second, I work in the film industry so some things jump out at me.. Your videos would benefit greatly from much better sound and look better with a light in front of you angled to light your work surface surface... Your sweet voice is just too low to be easily and clearly heard. I'd suggest you go to your local camera shop and ask about getting an external microphone that you can add to your camera.
    As for lighting, a simple fix might be to get a goose neck floor lamp or something with an adjustable head that could be positioned toward your cooking surface. Check out Lamps Plus to Ikea, Home Depot or other similar places for a reasonably priced workable option... Thanks for taking the time to make these...Your friend in Hollywood, Penny :-))

      Here you go, I was typing as she was talking:
      1 cup coconut flour
      2 T Psyllium husk powder
      ½ cup Parmesan cheese (optional)
      ½ cup oil avocado oil (or olive oil)
      1/4 tsp salt
      (optional seasonings: 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 T Italian seasoning)
      2 cups boiling water (might need more)
      Oven 375’ preheated. 15-20 minutes.
      This should be enough for two 9x13 cookie sheets. Get into a ball, split in half.

      “Mush" one-half of the dough on a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper. It will increase in volume as baking.
      Place on a cooling rack, peel off parchment paper. The parchment paper side of the flat bread will be a little moist. You can put back in the oven again for a few minutes to dry the other side.
      Store in ziplock in freezer.

      you have two places to adjust the volume - one on the video window and one on your device. make sure both are up. one doesn't necessarily control the other. I found this out because my computer volume was up and my video volume was muted so, I wasn't hearing anything :-/

      hmmmm.....it seems as if it did the first time which is why I added more salt, the cheese, and the seasonings (iltalian, garlic, etc.)
      I wonder if the psyllium husk you used was sweetened at all.

    • @WitchdoktahArms

      the unflavored powder we used when i looked it contains sucrose. got to throw out the whole batch. i am very sensitive to sweet. the pizza didnt taste right on a sweet crust. i knew something was off
