Once you try this low carb keto pita bread recipe in your keto diet, you’ll never go back! Just three ingredients create a light, fluffy, delicious, highly pliable texture. Most flatbread recipes are made with wheat flour, which is highly inflammatory, and not suited for a clean keto diet. This recipe however, is classic, because it's keto friendly, low carb friendly, gluten-free, almond free and can be seasoned to taste! And it's ONE 1 CARB per tortilla!

This recipe will amaze you! It is a soft, pliable low carb tortilla (flatbread) that is versatile enough for wrapping, stuffing, topping, dipping and chopping up.
And for the cherry on top…. It's SUPER EASY to make! This recipe takes about 5 minutes to prepare and 6 minutes to cook. No need to wait to eat! Did someone say we’re deprived of delicious food on KETO?! ………. NOT!!

Ingredients
1 cup of egg whites
3/4 cup water
2 tbsp of coconut flour
2 tbsp of whole psyllium husk
Seasoning to taste

for the record, these turn out pretty good with whole egg and psyllium powder rather than husk (thats all I had). Made ground beer taco dinner last night with avocadoes, tomatoes, jalapenos, shredded cheese, sour cream and they worked just fine! Thanks for the ideas!

They did puff up and they did make a pocket. They weren't as easy to spread around in the pan, I used a gravy spoon to scoop & spread. (It was sticking to the spoon and not to the pan so it was sliding around a bit). I didn't think they were overly eggy (especially with the robust taco seasonings). @@jenniferld672

Tried these today…I was amazed! They are superb..a keeper recipe, I followed your lead with spices…Though none of them raised, like yours did…I just rolled them like a taco. I made a filling of (fried with butter), cubes chicken, onions, garlic powder, salt, pepper. Topped with sour cream, lettuce, and cheese. Be blessed! 🍃💞🍃

Can the psyllium be powdered?

Oh darn! I have a bag of psyllium husk powder. I've got to find a way to make it work in this recipe so I can use it up.

Never tried to make these sweet but they are worth a try! They might be amazing!
If you have Ground psyllium husk try using 1/2 the amount and letting it rest for about 5-10 minutes before you fry with it.

They last 2-3 days in the fridge. I’ve not tried freezing them.
Why did mine come out dark in color did I use the wrong powder or is it because I use fresh egg whites
My batter did not thicken up. I don’t know why. I tried making half a batch and it didn’t work. Any suggestions?

I tried this recipe, twice. It did not come out like hers. They were just eggy pancakes. i probably did something wrong, but I think they would be a great replacement for egg wrappers.
I needed to try it in my cast iron pan so I would know not to do that again. Non-stick worked beautifully.

Good question! It thickens pretty quickly 1-2 min just while warming up the pan and spraying it with avocado oil.
Would it really ruin it to use whole egg instead of egg whites?

I only have almond flour.
I tried these as I wanted to have pockets. Sadly they never puffed up. 😢
