      can also buy pre-cut tint. Its not going to be anywhere as good as paying a shop $200 to do it, But for 30-40 bucks on amazon or ebay you can slap it on pretty easy. For a place like where i am and tint is illegal on the front windows its nice to be able to tear it off and put it on in a day and have it looking decent. better than paying the $150+ ticket or $200 every time a cop decides to be a dick.

Some people I have worked for tinting their windows asked me to extend the bottom of the tint below the bottom of the tint. Which required removing the door panel. And I charged more because of having to remove the door panel. That made the job much longer. But the way you did it is fine. I did that on most cars. including my own, only those who wanted it done their way.

    For cheap tint, I loved it when I used it back in 05-06. Spending $40 as opposed to $300+ back then wasn’t feasible for me. Did my blazer xtreme & later did my tundra with the 2.5% all around. It did turn purple over time, but only slightly. Served its purpose well, until I got rid of the 2 vehicles a few years later. Held up just fine during that time.

      Got my 2 door coupe (Subaru BRZ) done for $250 in Florida but the install is PERFECT and it was 5% SunTek CIR (ceramic) film. Haven’t looked back. He will do $150 for normal dyed-metal hybrid tint 2 door car and I think it’s just like $179 for a four door with the normal SunTek HP film.

    you can put a button under the film so you don't damage the car. you put the tip of the blade onto the button and it will drag under the film so you can cut it all in one swoop

I only spent around 50$ all together so I call that a win.

    Can you explain why the stainless blades work better?

    • @LimpBagels
      @LimpBagels 5 років тому +1

      Markpaul Chohan the stainless work better because the glass is harder. It’s like some things can scratch a phone screen and some things can’t scratch the screen

    • @justin5573
      @justin5573 5 років тому +1

      Markpaul Chohan the hardness of the stainless steel blade is less than the glass so the blade shouldn’t knick your window and scratch it. Kinda like how they use diamond blades to cut really hard metal

    In 1979, I had a gorgeous white 1975 Caddy Coupe Deville....but it had a PUMPKIN ORANGE interior. I got some tint film and put some dark tint on my Caddy....did it one evening in a carwash bay between Houston and Galveston, with a fairly strong gulf breeze blowing thru the carwash bay. (I lived in an apartment, and didn't have time during the daylight hours with my job). Not easy, but turned out okay.
    It looked sharp. In 1979-80 I was one of very few vehicles on the road with any window tinting.!!
    I just bought a clean '98 Ford one ton E350 15 passenger van. I'm considering getting it tinted with the new "ceramic" film. Cuts out 95% of heat rays. But with 11 windows.....quoted job was $450 at a reputable tint shop!!!!. Can't buy the material only... only sold to licensed installers.

      I actually use sprayway glass cleaner and microfibre more on the door panels instead of on the glass to pick up dirt..Foam picks up alot of dirt instead of water running downward..Good safety measure in case film accidentally touches door panels..
