    • @norbertoespinoza5158
      @norbertoespinoza5158 2 роки тому +9

      Yes it is tedious but it is absolutely worth it to learn it. I am no professional and I don't even know how to cut the tint but I have been installing my own tints on all my cars and families car since I was 15. And they come out flawless. Yes you mess up a couple of curved windshields tints with the heat gun at first. But after that it's like stick shift. Fyi I am now 31 and I still don't know how to cut tint film. But for me it is not worth it to learn it. On eBay you could buy pre-cut tint for all your window for 30 dollar shipped. All I do is line it up on my window and squeegee it on and it's always flawless no need to cut anything out.

    If you cut out the tab on the outside, you can hit it with heat to eliminate fingers from popping up as well as reducing debris getting in the film that may have stuck to the mirror mount.

    Damn I need that cuz I am not a fan of windshield tinting but I am a fan of blocking as much UV as possible. I have 5% all around on my coupe and it’s ceramic and I can tell everyone first hand that it truly helps! I took a road trip to Las Vegas and it did NOT feel hot in my car. I had the AC on low for the whole trip and me, my gf, and my dog were all comfortable inside and the glass was not hot at all. I can only imagine how much cooler it would be with the windshield blocking UV also haha. I am pretty confident in my DIY skills so I might pick this up and do it myself. I love it. Thank you for sharing

    I appreciate the fact that you go through so many extra steps as an installer ( ie, soap rope, less mess methods, extra cleaning steps, not scratching the glass during trimming) but you're wearing a metal wedding band? Not sure how durable the tint(s) is (are) but wouldn't that scratch it or mark it?

    Wow you make that look so smooth and easy. I’m debating using 70 or 50 on my front windshield. 70 doesn’t look like anything and I’m worried it won’t to much. 50 might look too obvious and I don’t want any tickets for tint.

    • @manuelito2299
      @manuelito2299 2 роки тому +1

      get 50% trust me, you probably wouldnt even get a ticket for 50%. it’s barely noticable, i doubt any cop would even pick up on it. i personally had 20% on my front windshield, and never got pulled over, not for tints at least. but to me 20% wasn’t enough so i’m going to go 5% all around, hence why i came to this video lol. But with 50%, i highly doubt you’ll get into trouble. anything over 35% is pretty safe, almost no one can tell the difference, especially while driving

That's why it's a few inches shy of the edge when he starts "peeling" it - he's actually been peeling it off the film as the film unrolls, with the excess around back towards him.

      Get a eye doctor note saying you have sensitive eyes

      @bbay1977 4 роки тому +1

      @@codycis I do have sensitive eyes. I wear glasses also. The issue is that the law states no tint on the windshield and a doctor can't trump the law. The law os the law. Sure some cops may over look it if I had something from a doctor, but the tickets would add up after a while and wouldn't be worth it in the long run.

      You can also get ceramic 80% that is significantly closer to clear than the 70 and still cuts UV by 99%, provides some IR and heat rejection.

    I don't understand how you build off the clear plastic when you were in the car so the way you rolled it up the clear plastic would be towards the window you build it from the back end so that makes you pilled off the window tint

    Hello, need some guidance .I have got my car tinted to 35% with
    Lumbar ceramic tint , but the tint installer said he can’t tint the rear windows as they are factory tinted already (around 40 %) and any kind of tint on them will make them illegal. Is there a way I can match them with my front windows. Because now front windows look little darker then rear. Thanks
