Hey Chris, just wanted to let you know how much of an impact you've had on my life. I didn't know what I wanted to do as a career and you have shown me the basics of being a mechanic so I'm going to college in the fall to learn more :)
Awesome man! Just follow what you are passionate about and you will go far and be happy. Hey, being a mechanic might not be something you want to do as a career but everything you learn in school is still useful since you will always need to fix your own car. That’s like me an culinary school. I went to culinary school, was the top of my class and then decided I wanted more of a family life and working every holiday when the restaurant is the busiest is not the best way to do that. Now look at me! I’m a UA-camr trying to teach/help as many people as I can. Unfortunately as a UA-camr all I do is work but I love what I’m doing at least!
I'm in my freshman year of mechanical engineering and about to start my finals. UA-camrs like Chris inspired me a lot to choose this career path. Good luck!
imo the chris fix logo looks like it does not belong on the cover, probably needed a smaller logo than the whole "chris fix" you can see the spacing is off and slightly bigger than the "H"

Hey Chris….here’s a neat trick for the letters that takes WAY less time than cutting tape. Get a small and cheap hobby paint brush and brush a light coat of Vaseline over the letters. Paint the valve cover like usual. When the paint is dry, brush over the letters with a lint free cloth and the paint will come right off perfectly every time.
I dunno, that seems like it could be a real pain if it gets in between the letters, then you're wiping off the letters accidentally just to get it out... Messy stuff!
Just gotta say Chris, I grew up around a diesel mechanic shop and learned just about every everything from tie rods to fly wheels, but man just watching your videos and seeing how EVERYTHING you do is meant to be budget friendly is astonishing brotha. It’s people like you who give the car community a good reputation. Keep inspiring people man you got the support of all the mechanics in the US Army👍🏼 we all love talking about your videos while we work on these vehicle.
Those transitions tho! Great video Chris! I hope you realize how many people you are, not only entertaining, but helping as well. I know you saved me at least a thousand bucks when my wife scratched the rental car she had. I watched your video on removing clear coat scratches and within an hour I had repaired the scratches. They definitely would have charged me a lot of money. Keep up the great work bro!
I've been watching Chris Fix videos for three days and feel as though I can competently fix many of not most car issues. I really appreciate the direct, common sense approach to diagnosing and replacing (or repairing) damaged parts. Thank you, Mr. Chris Fix.
A good cheap home spray booth is a beach changing tent. Often they are pop-up and big enough to stand in, and move around a bit. Hang a good light in it, cut a hole in the side and add a box fan with an air filter and you're done. Open the door, put your piece inside on a box or hang it from the top if it's small, and if it's cramped just stand in the doorway and spray... of course wear a good respirator, and eye protection and you're all set! Hope this helps anyone interested, I built one of these for my mom who restores small furniture pieces and she loves it. It folds up and takes up no space when it isn't being used.
Also (this one is mostly for Chris, or people with a vinyl cutter.) You can make custom tape decals by getting good quality masking tape, as wide as possible. Lay it down on a sheet of wax paper, then stick that down to your cutter mat. Run the program and weed your masking design... then just put it where you want and bam! No wasting expensive vinyl to use for masking. This way you can make hundreds of small decals per roll.. also, masking tape comes in large sheets, or use 3D printer masking tape, they come in 12in rolls, so you can make larger designs. Again, hope this helps anyone.
I keep coming back to your channel before making any little improvements to my vehicle. I have to commend you in your ability to create these tutorials that are not only concise but provide your viewers with the execution techniques needed to get the same results. You seem like a really great guy who really puts time and care into all your videos. Thanks Chris, happy to see such growth to your channel over the years! Cheers
I’m a 25 year old Australian female in the automotive parts industry with no automotive experience. I discovered your channel by coming across your very first trim painting video on your truck! I watched the entirety of that video! It was extremely helpful, your voice was clear and your words made sense! But then I had a look at your channel, and discovered THIS video! I was actually so shocked! 🤯 I thought your old video was good! But i wasn’t ready to see an even better tutorial with more confidence in your voice, better production and even more super handy tips that you clearly added based off what you learnt from your original paint job in that original video! Congratulations on how far you have come with your channel! Subscribed ✨

Once again very sound advice for very professional results. I have been a painter for the past 35 years, I've used all the equipment a professional painters uses, ie: cup gun hvlp, cap sprayer, electrostatic, airless, preval sprayer, rattle cans, brushes rollers etc. The main attribute that Chris has is the desire to do the job correct and to get pro results. He has patience, without it you will not get good results. Outstanding job and amazing results. Great video for DIY. Well done.....
I have to say that my son absolutely loves your videos. He tell me how to fix fix tire and chips in the windshield. Also the fact that you don’t use inappropriate language like other video I’ve seen is great.
my son is 6. He watches your video while playing with Legos. He told me when I got new tires (I needed them) that I should have just patch them up and then he told me how to do it. When I ask him how he knew this and he told me that "ChirsFix told him how to"

If you want to go even further beyond and make it look professionally done, there a few things Chris left out. There were some rusted spots on the heat shield that were heavily pitted it was still noticeable after the paint job. Depending on the type of material, you can use different types of body filler and sand it down to make a smooth surface before applying paint. There was also a lot of orange peel left on his valve cover which can be removed by doing an extra coat of clear coat followed by sanding and polishing with compound. I know most people don't care about going above and beyond with the looks of the internals of a car but to get that show car look there are a few extra steps. Love your work Chris!

So I am sure you probably have heard this a million times before, but you have taken an amazing gift for explaining complex processes and breaking them down, with an incredible dedication to detail in your filming, voice overs, and editing. I have a small YT channel and I know first-hand how time-consuming it is to make a video. It takes so much longer than most people would think, and with the level of clarity of your videos, how well everything is shown, and the crisp editing, I imagine a typical 15 minute video could easily take 100 hours to make. I have never seen videos as clear as yours are, and they are consistently easy to follow and understand. Bless you ChrisFix.
Nice! One quick tip that I feel is important with rattle can work. I always turn my can upside and spray to clear nozzle between coats and after last coat for storage and wipe outside of nozzle so spray pattern remains consistent and doesn't bounce off excess paint buildup/crud around nozzle. I also shake really well and often. Sometimes, I warm the pieces in oven on very lowest oven setting on cold days and have been known to either let sun warm paint can or set can in hot water for a few minutes to gently warm paint (NO BOILING WATER) Wipe water off can thoroughly so water doesn't drip on to your fresh paint. Thats it, thanks Chris, love your videos!
Chris Fix I hope you see this man. I started out with my junky 95 Toyota Celica and I didn’t hardly know what i was doing because i was new to the car world, it’s my first car and I’ve been wanting to do stuff with it but not a lot of money or supplies to do it with. Because of you bro I learned easy and inexpensive ways to fix my car by watching you. You make things so simple, you’re easy to understand and you include products that aren’t too complicated. Just wanted to say that, much love bro and keep up the good videos, can’t wait to see else you have in store for the Del Sol and the Driftstang.
for car guys like me these videos can be common sense, but i watch every one of them. they areso well put together and love watching the progress you make on your projects. also love sharing with guys that dont know as much that ask about how to do something you covered so well! keep it up brother! -chris

Chris, you are truly gifted at not just repairing but, also in teaching people how to do this themselves. Your videos are the BEST at showing everyone exactly how to get great results! Love the channel! Keep it up!
I discovered the razor technique to peel off the paint on the letters; and I also discovered that any type of car can be interesting provided you properly clean it up and paint it.
Amazing tutorial to start with, both visual and verbal so I appreciate that. I absolutely love the colors and attention to detail bits and pieces. Also I adore that excitement after the results revealed lol. It kept me watching. I'll be painting some of my DIY projects. Even though I went to spray painting course I wanted to watch a close up tutorial to refresh my memory. I'll make sure to follow these instructions. Thumbs up. Thank you for this informal tutorial Chris. :)
I love you. Everything you say is well thought out, everything you do it will demonstrated. You don't gloss over steps and you show everything to the point where anyone can do what you are showing. You are amazing, thank you for all your videos and tutorials
Abdilrahman Aljamali I swear you wont believe me but I gotta school daily 15 kilometers even in winter and summer it's really hard bro but I can't help it :/.
I'm hoping he does a video where he replaces the open differential in his Mazda B3000 with a limited-slip. I want to do the same thing with my Ranger, and nobody does DIY car guides like ChrisFix.
I recently bough my first car at my age of 32 and I found your channel while searching for basic maintenance tips. I have no desire to do anything as advanced as stuff you do in some of your vids (like this one) but its very enjoyable to watch you do these things. Cheers :D
Next video: "Hey Guys, it's ChrisFix and today I'm gonna show you how to heatshield a space shuttle without any specialized tools!" *And it's gonna work*
Check hardware stores, like your local Ace. Also Isopropyl is used to clean ICs; so the computer store might sell it, in particular the place that sells enthusiasts parts.
Hey Chris, before I found your channel cars were as boring as maths. But your style of portraying cars and dealing with all the problems an average person might find and can easily solve, is great. The fact that you do what you love and share it with us is truly amazing.
Some ideas are: clicked faster then you can say "hi", clicked faster then the tesla roadster get to 60, clicked faster then you can start a car, clicked fast enough to say "FIRST". you dont have to thank me just wanted to have some fun with this.
just did this with my 99 CRV with a metallic red. great results, the guide definitely helped me out. i'm the guy who snapped the valve cover stud putting it back together. massively overestimated how much those would take lol, pretty sure the torque spec for those doesnt even go into foot pounds, its like inch pounds
Very informative! I've been painting with spray cans for many years and had to make 100s of mistakes and learn on my own. If I started with this video... would have saved me $$$, time and a boat load of frustration.
I cannot believe that I saw you with less than 1,000,000 subs... Great work, Chris! I really, really like your videos! Cheers, from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina!
eksine why should he/she learn English when they’re English is pretty good? The only thing was the space between “I” and “can” that bothered me at least.
You would think for CAFE standards nowadays forcing auto manufacturers to make larger vehicles, the engine bays would be more spacious. Nope. They just design SUVs or crossovers bubbly or too boxy as heck and either make engine bays wider, but cramped, or narrow, but STILL CRAMPED.🤦♂️
Cleaning the engine bay and painting parts is also a great way to find issues before they become problems down the road. Can't tell you how many times I've found wires with cracked insulation or loose grounding straps etc just from getting in there to clean parts
Been watching dozens of your vids recently. Loving your work. Its good to learn more and its real nice to be learning some automotive applications, even if I already have painting experience but in a machine manufacturing plant

Thats realy sad
MY DAD JUST BROUGHT HOME PIZZA AND CHISFIX POSTED THE VIDEO!?!?!?!? SWEET!!!!
I literally just ate pizza lol
ChrisFix omg the coincidence is real xDD!
ChrisFix plz say it was pizza hut cause thats what im having for dinner
Tylo Ren enjoy
Tylo Ren Wtf i just got one of those personal pizzas at target lmaoo
Dude I’m really glad you decided to make this vehicle a daily driver! You’re the man
You guys helped me decide
Can't wait to see more videos of the del Sol's progress. She's coming along very nicely!
Chris you seriously need to start selling “soapy wooder”
I would buy it for sure
That and the blinker fluid lol
My cousin is from Virginia and talks just like this.
That would be hilarious as a meme and all, but that would be a bit of a waste of money when it's just water with a tablespoon of dish soap. Js
Thank You Chris!!! Your eye for detail is unsurpassed!!
Thanks a lot
Wow, its been eons since ive seen a vid from you
Stevey Peppers well worth the wait though!
Well worth it, but agreed
Bubba2001 if you follow him on Instagram you'll see how busy he is making these videos, that comeout :p but it has been a while since last vid
Dude your cool
for car guys like me these videos can be common sense, but i watch every one of them. they areso well put together and love watching the progress you make on your projects. also love sharing with guys that dont know as much that ask about how to do something you covered so well! keep it up brother!
-chris
Thanks a lot Chris! Hopefully you still learn at least one new thing even though it’s basic stuff for you!
I know im 2 years late HOWEVER, i have a 98 Ford laser hatchback lxi kj. Every bit of work/modification i am making has been done thanks to these videos! Love the depth behind the techniques and advice given.
Man you're gonna make the previous owner jealous. Amazing job
heartSLB i agree
heartSLB
Definitely He'll cry
heartSLB RIP Jinson
definitely😂
doesn't look like a $300 car anymore, does it?
Chris, you are truly gifted at not just repairing but, also in teaching people how to do this themselves. Your videos are the BEST at showing everyone exactly how to get great results! Love the channel! Keep it up!
First time i have actually been excited to see somebody mod out a honda 😂
Fenceline Films haha true do
When done right, Hondas are amazing cars.
Lol this isn't beneficial "modding". Making the appearance of an old sluggish motor look good is pointless..
I mean, it isn't totally pointless. Kinda makes you appreciate the car a little bit more. You gotta enjoy your car a little bit with some aesthetics.
Fenceline Films still rice cauee its a honda lol. Nah jk I have a honda and in trying to keep it stock as possible, just a mugen wing is all ill add.
Fantastic cinematography and editing. Chris, your videos continue to improve year after year. I'm so impressed!
My uncle and my dad once painted a car in a barn in summer and you can imagine how the car looked after 30 min.
😂😂 was there hay stuck to the paint
Hay and insects😂

True
Yeah
I love Premium Stripper. Both kinds.
Hehehe

I just LOVE how Chris deeply thought and well prepared for each video, you planned the shit out of this entire work. man I love that.
ChrisFix your channel is an absolute electric factory for those of us who plan on working in this field.
Thanks Dylan!
I love you. Everything you say is well thought out, everything you do it will demonstrated. You don't gloss over steps and you show everything to the point where anyone can do what you are showing. You are amazing, thank you for all your videos and tutorials
Your enthusiasm and love for cars never gets old, Chris! Truly informative and entertaining to watch! Keep up the awesome work, man!
this makes me wanna buy a scrap car just to paint it
Trust me you don't want to do that lol
ChrisFix lol
Well i have lots of videos explaining how to do anything on it, so why not :D
@@paul_109 The amount of rust you would have to scrape off the car beforehand would be enormous probably
Paul _ it’s not worth the time and the hand and arm cramps
I watch your videos only for entertainment not like I have a car I'm a biker,Worth the wait amazing videos keep up the hard work!
Abdilrahman Aljamali I swear you wont believe me but I gotta school daily 15 kilometers even in winter and summer it's really hard bro but I can't help it :/.

hi chrisfix i watched your videos for 8 years love the way you treat me and everyone else! thank you for everything you do!
i wanna see "How to install Turbo ,and Intercooler (THE ULTIMATE GUIDE)" XD
Hell yeah
I'm hoping he does a video where he replaces the open differential in his Mazda B3000 with a limited-slip. I want to do the same thing with my Ranger, and nobody does DIY car guides like ChrisFix.
jinxit he actually bought a turbo kit for his Honda Del Sol and will be installing it sometime around January
No supercharger is better
Jung Kookie he never said turbos are better than superchargers you Korean libtard
It’s been forever but worth the wait🙌🏽
Chris you make this look so easy, to the point where i will actually feel a lot better painting my engine. You are awesome!!!!!
Chris is such an inspirational guy like I was going to be a cop or firefighter now I’m over here restoring cars back to there fun and glory
I recently bough my first car at my age of 32 and I found your channel while searching for basic maintenance tips. I have no desire to do anything as advanced as stuff you do in some of your vids (like this one) but its very enjoyable to watch you do these things. Cheers :D
I'm glad you still find these videos enjoyable! And congrats on getting your first car!
Next video: "Hey Guys, it's ChrisFix and today I'm gonna show you how to heatshield a space shuttle without any specialized tools!"
*And it's gonna work*
And the best thing about this is after watching this video, you'll be able to do this with your own space shuttle, using common hand-tools."

Check hardware stores, like your local Ace. Also Isopropyl is used to clean ICs; so the computer store might sell it, in particular the place that sells enthusiasts parts.
That blue you chose is such a great shade, one of the best I have ever seen!
Hey Chris, before I found your channel cars were as boring as maths. But your style of portraying cars and dealing with all the problems an average person might find and can easily solve, is great. The fact that you do what you love and share it with us is truly amazing.
Thanks a lot
ChrisFix Thank you!
Math isn't boring, it's just that you haven't gotten into the good parts yet
Whiteclaws not Math but Maths
GCSE Maths is soooo boring. (GCSE's are exams everyone takes at 16 in the UK)
Can I just say that I freaking love ChrisFix? Absolutely the best DIY car channel on YT.
Thanksssssss!!!!
I saw a chrisfix notification! Never clicked so fast!!
Thomas Cowell Same Here, OMGeez!! I thought I Was The Only One... 😀😂
Sameeeeee. Lol
He painted his logo. What a savage Chrisfix 😂😂😂
Thomas Cowell lol me too
Some ideas are: clicked faster then you can say "hi", clicked faster then the tesla roadster get to 60, clicked faster then you can start a car, clicked fast enough to say "FIRST". you dont have to thank me just wanted to have some fun with this.
just did this with my 99 CRV with a metallic red. great results, the guide definitely helped me out. i'm the guy who snapped the valve cover stud putting it back together. massively overestimated how much those would take lol, pretty sure the torque spec for those doesnt even go into foot pounds, its like inch pounds
Very informative! I've been painting with spray cans for many years and had to make 100s of mistakes and learn on my own. If I started with this video... would have saved me $$$, time and a boat load of frustration.
Thanks!
LOVE HEARING HIS "SOAPY WATER" !!

Soapy wooder
Patel vlogs damn it. I was going to like before you told me to
Sometimes I feel like he tries to say it in each video on purpose lol
I thought I was alone lol
you have been hyping me up for this video for 2 weeks now!!! awesome video! keep it up
I cannot believe that I saw you with less than 1,000,000 subs... Great work, Chris! I really, really like your videos! Cheers, from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina!
Am I the only one who thinks they can build a car by watching his videos?
yes, just you
No I think ican
@@Redders-ji4vi okay, but start first by learning English
Totally
eksine why should he/she learn English when they’re English is pretty good? The only thing was the space between “I” and “can” that bothered me at least.
dammit I miss how much room there was on those old honda engine bays
Enough for a spoon engine?
@@michaela_0502 enough for a 4a engine
Newer engines are so much more compact and difficult to work. But older cars were much more simple
Dam that looks beautiful
That transition at 13:44 is another level!
Cleaning the engine bay and painting parts is also a great way to find issues before they become problems down the road. Can't tell you how many times I've found wires with cracked insulation or loose grounding straps etc just from getting in there to clean parts
I found a bad injector O-ring so good point!
0:15 You can see some rust on the frame on the right side of the engine and in the end 14:48 it's also painted. This man really goes all out...
I mean throwing some paint on top of rust doesn’t do much. Just makes it look ok from far away lol. But the valve cover paint does Lolol nice.
@@FleetTech97 If he sands it,it might be fine.I mean paint is supposed to protect against rust as long as there is none underneath
Marius Carausu it could still protect from additional rust if there isnt too much underneith already
Danish Roy it’s Chris fix. No way he didn’t go through the entire process
Been watching dozens of your vids recently. Loving your work. Its good to learn more and its real nice to be learning some automotive applications, even if I already have painting experience but in a machine manufacturing plant
