Actually, I have an actual useless Fact about Wii Fit, For some reason, Wii Fit is the only gender swaps that has different Palutenas Guidence, Tags in Boxing Ring, and different poses in Joker's Final Smash. That's an interesting fact, I guess.
Meta Knight has unused textures in Brawl where he appeared to be able to have a cracked mask. Battle Damage was once considered at some point during Brawl’s development but it would only officially come in Smash 4
23:15 There IS a reason why Robin doesn't fall when getting their Tomes back. It's because they're looking upwards, therefore meaning gravity isn't in affect yet.
I'm imagining they had the animation all ready to go and them someone with very extensive and insistent knowledge of ducks came sprinting into the room
In Brazil we never had a dub for the games but Manolo Rey is his voice actor in everything since Sonic X (the only exception being in the wreck it ralph movies) even in the MAD cartoon and in Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers
With the "Let's dance" line from Marth, it might have been used during his Final Smash since Sakurai said he wanted to introduce them into Melee but got cut.
I find it crazy how Dr. Mario can have many different Victory Animations depending on his MegaVitamins and Alts, but Sonic is has always been pulling out the same damn Blue Chaos Emerald since 2008.
And why did they choose to go with blue instead of a color distinct from Sonic's fur (I would personally choose purple). It's just another thing that makes his inclusion feel super lazy.
@@CaptBlockWell, when you think about it, Sonic is kinda associated with the blue Chaos Emerald. In some classic Sonic games, you usually get the blue Emerald first, he has the blue Emerald in Sonic Heroes during the cutscene before the Neo Metal Sonic fight, and in 06, he gets the blue one from Elise.
Regarding Wolf's smoke particles, my guess is that when coding Wolf's blaster, they used Fox's blaster as a base, but forgot to remove the piece of code that spawns the smoke particles. Wolf probably doesn't have the smoke texture in his assets, so nothing happens when Fox isn't in the match, but when he is, the smoke texture gets loaded into memory and thus Wolf's code manages to use it.
I was thinking they did a check for the smoke to spawn where if Fox was in the match and a laser hit then it would spawn but just didn’t add another check to make sure the laser was Fox’s. I feel things would get wonky if there was an unintentional call to a texture that wasn’t loaded.
@@KARLOSPCgame Nahh. They almost certainly didn't code in a skip for it. When the game attempts to call any effect that isn't loaded, the effect just doesn't spawn with no ill effect, likely because there's no code that's reliant on the effect existing to get hung up on. A similar thing happens if you mod the game to load the pokemon trainer's pokemon individually and use their final smash. The solo mon will play their final smash animation by themselves and shoot only their projectile, but it will be invisible unless a regular pokemon trainer is loaded in the match.
@@KARLOSPCgame Calling up a missing texture/model doesn't often cause any ill effects, you just don't get that model/texture appearing. The only time it causes an issue is when something in the code actually relies on that model/texture being present, and any crashing is almost always only because the game was programmed to crash when such an error is detected.
The duality of effort in Smash: "We snuck in a cool actual duck fact for the cartoon one on a dog" "But we don't wanna remove one of the Bayonetta options from the voices menu"
@@Swag.Hackeryes, but there are OTHER baffling things in smash which shouldn't be a part of it (like how an opponent that is star ko'd does not count as ko'd until their model dissapeared... which means you can *WIN A GAME WHILST STAR KO'D...* *WHAT THE ACTUAL F♤CK IS THIS GAME*
If you ever made some programming, you'll know it is infinetely easier to just swap data instead of removing it since it can cause many bugs. Also, that's a headache for one person, imagine managing all of that in a game where docens of developers worked in a hardware like the switch and using smash 4, a game about 10 years old as a base for coding
The Min Min fact was a little wrong. Her eyes Spiraled before she donned the mask. While it only says users with the ARMS trait has a spiral pattern it doesn’t mentione whether or not it’s permanent. And it states that it’s unstable without the mask randomly shifting between normal arms and the ARMS phenomenon. The mask and in tandem the spiral in her eyes is how she has better control over her ARMS. If an ARMS user’s eyes were always spiraled it’d be easy to tell who would have the ability before it properly manifests, but that’s not the case
Actually, I think Daisy’s text difference is because it’s not THE toad, but rather just a basic toad. Peach’s toad is THE Toad that is her personal guard, since he has a red cap but a blue vest unlike other toads It’d be like if I named my dog ‘Dog’, and he was male
@@ironencepersonal9634Japanese is a strange language, and sometimes the best translation is odd in English. That’s probably the best answer you’re going to get, unless we can figure out which of the specific localizers did that text.
@@ironencepersonal9634 Probably because we know Toad is a dude, but the Toad being used by Daisy is up in the air as to their gender. So it makes sense, sorta?
19:26 Actually, it IS known (at least by me). Since Wolf was made using Fox as a base, his blaster shot likely calls on Fox's particle effect. But when Fox isn't loaded, it can't use the particle (thus only appearing when Fox is present). This is almost certainly a mistake on the developer's part. Its easy to forget that the smoke particle effect even exists. I used to mod Smash Bros. Brawl a lot, so I have some experience with this kind of thing. If you try to use a player-specific particle effect on a different character it won't appear unless the other character is loaded.
Another funny fact about Wii Fit Trainer is that in the WoL introduction cutscene she tries first to run away from the rays only to stop and do a Tree pose, which in-game has invincibility frames (sadly it doesn't save her)
I know it's a little late, but I have a cool fact about G&W. I think G&W is the only character that gets his double jump back after using his Final Smash. I think that the game believes he is grounded while in his Octopus state. That's why when he jumps out of his Octopus, you can use his double jump again. I don't know if there are other characters with that quirk, but I know that this was never patched for G&W, at least.
16:20 Not entirely, Ness can use PK Flash, albeit the green light chosen to represent the move is more so from Mother 3 than EarthBound, where it’s represented as White. Just another bit of fun trivia about this move
@@trevoreyre2775 Well, it can Instakill in Earthbound, and if someone is at high enough percent, it is able to kill, so... a little bit accurate at least.
Oddly enough he also uses an unknown PSI attack for his basic moves. It’d be way cooler if it was PSI Rockin! The red, blue, and yellow would look great
One thing to point out about Kazuya's down tilt, is that he can also cancel the move before the hitbox comes out in the Tekken series too. It wasn't randomly a thing for him in Smash. In Tekken, it's mainly used to bait out reactions from the opponent like a block or a move to beat it out (not like you would use it that way) Also a useless Smash fact about Kazuya and K Rool, they both have a spike on Kaz's down air and K Rool's up smash. Only for 1 frame.
@@SuperBox_Ray True, it's moreso "useless" since 99% of the time, you'll be hit by the stronger hit of the moves rather than the spike itself. Plus not many people actually know that these moves spike.
5:18 As an artist, I gotta mention that Jiggly's eyes are NOT green, they're turquoise. In fact, color picking the eyes in an image editor shows that the eye color actually sits on the bluer side of turquoise than the green side, so TECHNICALLY you could say that they're blue. Regardless though, both the Jigglypuff in Smash and the one in the anime VERY clearly have turquoise eyes and not green, which means no, they're not shiny. You can see this very clear difference at 5:33
@@mushymcmushington7176 It's not uncommon for people to mistake cyan as green or blue since it lies between the two and isn't typically taught in schools. However, PJiggles specifically said the Smash 4 and Ultimate eyes are cyan, so it might just be that the 64 through Brawl are green enough to be considered green instead of cyan in his mind (which to be fair, Melee, Brawl and the anime's are significantly more on the green side of cyan than the other Smash games and the official Pokemon render if you look at their hue values, although 64 and 4's eyes are both pretty close to true cyan)
In SSBU and SSB4, a few of Jason Griffith’s voice lines were reused from brawl- that being his resurfacing noise and a few of his attack grunts. Griffith is not credited.
In the absolute funniest way too. "His church got blown up and he was stabbed by the cross. He survived by drinking blood." "Oh, I get it. That's why they call him Vamp. Like vampire." "What? No. It's because he's bisexual."
That's actually Pliskin who says that. For some reason he stops appearing after the harrier fight... Cool character but his story arc just gets canceled mid game. Maybe the voice actor asked for too much money, who knows?
I think it's accurate to say that Zelda's design in Ultimate is a fusion of her designs from LTTP and LBW, neither one is a perfect match to the ultimate design and there's clearly elements of both designs present.
I agree. The crown/circlet and the Triforce shown on the long cloth over the front of her dress are clearly more similar to ALBW than ALttP, but other details (as mentioned in the video) are clearly from ALttP.
yeah, the LTTP design has a red triforce on her skirt where the ult and LBW designs have golden ones. though i think the LTTP design was most of the inspiration
Specifically, the design details break down like this: LTTP - Design on the sleeves (Two blue stripes.) - Belt and buckle - Bead necklace and golden chestpiece (LTTP Zelda's chestpiece has dangling gold rods, unlike LBW Zelda.) - Arm bracers (They're larger and more ornamental than LBW Zelda's.) LBW - Hair (Bangs in front of the headpiece.) - Pauldrons (LTTP Zelda's pauldrons are smaller and more ornate.) - Belt's ornaments (Though their actual design comes from LBW Zelda, The gold ornaments hang off of the belt like LTTP Zelda's do.) - Overlayer on the dress (The pink matches LBW Zelda's overlayer color more closely, and the design on the hanging fabric is the exact same.) Misc. (Smash-orignal Design Changes) - Two blue stripes on the bottom of the dress. (LTTP Zelda has only one blue stripe, which forms an alternating pattern of light and dark blues. LBW Zelda has only one blue stripe.)
Richter's attack being aura actually gives a small difference between him and Simon. but I mean a SMALL difference. Simon's is fire, so it can detonate the 3 Link's bomb. Richter's isn't, so it can kill Red Pikmin. that's it.
@@2hd4me Was gonna mention this myself. If you're using spirits, any that boost Aura dmg will affect Richter's Holy Water (Tested on Kirby: 18.5% w/o any spirits, 22.4% with a lv1 Reinhardt Schneider but no support spirits, 24.1% with an Aura amp spirit on top of that).
6:24 I have an explanation for this! See, the red toad with blue clothes actually is named Toad, but the blue toad is one of many, so "a" is to qualify to one of the many blue toads, and Nintendo doesn't want people to think all roads are male, so they said "it."
27:00 oh thats actually so interesting I expected the 3 set of splatoon1, the recolor of splat1, the 3set of splatoon2, the octo expansion 3set of splatoon2, and the 3set of splatoon 3 to all work, but they specifically excluded all octolings from working as inkling amiibos.... I mean it makes sense but also its odd to my brain that only one of the splatoon3 amiibos works and the rest all dont.
Alakazam also mentions him in the postgame, he's apparently a legendary rescue leader, and the highest rank your rescue team can have is Lucario Rank Though Lucario and the Mystery of Mew aired 4 months before Rescue Team released, though, to be fair, a lot of Pokémon were revealed in the anime before their first game appearances
Both true, and Lucario’s anime-based origins for Super Smash Bros come into play when you take into account that he can talk in this iteration. The only Lucario that can “talk” within Pokémon is Sir Aaron’s partner Lucario from “Lucario and the Mystery of Mew,” who is known to speak telepathically. The character in SSB is even voiced by the same actors who voiced him in the movie (in both English and Japanese)
25:54: _Technically_ this isn’t true. Corrin’s name was revealed in the Nintendo Direct that revealed Fire Emblem Fates would have multiple versions. However, it wasn’t stated directly and only showed up on dialogue boxes, wasn’t on screen for very long, and the segment didn’t focus much on the story, so it’s understandable that a lot of people missed it. That direct also happened almost exactly a month before Corrin was revealed for Smash. I only found this out because I also thought Corrin’s name was revealed in Smash and scoured through Fates trailers to double check if they ever showed it off beforehand.
For Banjo Kazooie: It is ass egg. The reason why google translate screws it up is because "oketsu" (おけつ、悪血. Literally bad blood) means stagnant blood, but it's being read incorrectly. The o used in the name is actually an honorific and ketsu means ass. So ケツタマゴ (ketsu tamago) does mean ass egg, and the o just makes it polite
@@LloydTheZephyrian it's more that it's just attached in polite conversation regardless of the context you're using the word in. Though realistically, yeah you could call someone a butt in polite conversation. I wonder if it'd come off as rather passive aggressive to use polite conversation speech while simultaneously insulting someone
I had to confirm it as well because I noticed that お (O) was Hiragana but ケツ (Ke-Tsu) is Katakana so I searched up what ケツ meant and it does mean ass. And タマゴ (Ta-Ma-Go) I already knew means egg. So I learned that today lol.
Technically Joker has even more possible combinations with his Final Smash victory screen : When fighting on the Mementos stage with music from Persona 4 or 3, the stage changes color, but if Joker win on it then his victory screen will match this change (including the victory theme frome P4 & 3), including his Final Smash victory screen too. So it's tripple de possibilities.
4:21 Here's a useless fact for Ness: When Ness enters battle, he looks like he's "burnt" or "shocked" before shaking it off to normal. This is a reference to the game EarthBound when Ness and/or his party members (only being Poo) use "PSI Teleport" α or β, but hit a wall or object during the process. (Another reference is that Ness and Poo can only teleport to a certain location if they have been there PRIOR. So then it sorta doesn't make sense that Ness can do this ability even if he's never been there, so it would've been cool if Ness went into battle from Jeff Andonuts' UFO [ wich is called Sky Runner] first to a stage, [since he's only appeared as a Trophy Fighter], and then use PSI Teleport after if he'd already been to that stage) 16:12 Also for clarification, Ness only learned PK Fire, PK Thunder, and PSI Magnet from Paula and Poo. He gets the abilities of PK Flash (at level 18) in EarthBound. And something for a cherry on top, I think they could've made this move was made with this: When Ness uses PK Flash in his home series, there are four different types of it- α (Alpha), β (Beta), γ (Gamma), and Ω (Omega). If Ness uses this, an enemy can either "start crying" or "feeling strange" (only with PK Flash α), feeling numbness or becoming unconscious (KO'd basically), and γ & Ω are just α and β, but greater the chance of the more lethal options. I think this would've been a cool design for Ness if he fully charged it onto someone, one of these effects would happen. But, at the same time, PK Flash is really slow rather to Lucas' PK Freeze, but then people would get a bit to spammy with it. OR... they could remove PK Flash and instead, Ness could use PSI Rockin, since Ness in the entire Mother Series can only use this move
5:55 Real reason is that Jigglypuff's design in Brawl was still using the outdated design from Gen 1, instead of the redesign it received in Gen 3/FireRed Leaf Green You can tell by the new mouth they used and the eyes being further apart, like the redesign, it's just that they wanted Jiggs to be updated to the current brand's image
As for the Daisy fact, I believe Red Toad is a specific toad, hence he/him pronouns, while Blue Toad is a *type* of toad, hence saying "a Toad" and the it/its pronouns. It's like how "a dog" would be referred to as it, while a specific dog, like Snoopy or Scooby Doo would be referred to as "he".
This is true. The one used on peach is meant specifically for the Toad we all know in the Mario games (Mario Kart, Party, SMB2 & SM3DW, etc) while the Blue Toad is just a member of the species that has no identity to the Toad we all know
@@animedude834 Which is strange... Because Blue Toad appears regularly in the Mario games (for example, the New Super Mario Bros. games, and in Super Mario 3D World). And I'm pretty sure Blue Toad and Yellow Toad also use he/him as their pronouns.
In Kingdom Hearts, Sora’s party members can trigger a similar slow down effect if they land the final blow on an enemy that isn’t a boss, at least if it’s a forced story encounter or depending on the game, in the coliseum fights. So what was likely unintentional for the last fact, is kind of accurate.
13:35 yeah I noticed that too. They added sounds and looks from kid Icarus uprising which isn’t surprising because Sakurai also worked on Kid Icarus uprising. I know this because Sakurai really likes the idea of having a difficulty slider Scale in the games he works with. Not to mention he was credited for it! But back to the main point; I love that they added that for reference to uprising which was my favorite game to play on the 3DS.
Am I the only one having a seizure about the Jigglypuff eyes fact? In no way do any of those eyes look green to me, they look to be the same shade of teal.
I knew what he was getting at, but I had a feeling that the reason it was originally green in both the anime and earlier Smash games was just a color discrepancy from the early Pokemon days that stuck around because no one really wanted to waste time with such a minute detail (since it already appeared blue to some people). And, like, it made sense to me for the Puff main to overanalyze something on Jigglypuff. '^^
27:26 Bonus fact! Almost all of the human Amiibo shown here have names, and are used as promotional characters for the game! I'll go through them all here, since they're quite dear to me. The promo kids are always in groups of eight (except for S2 who rose to ten after Octo Expansion) but only the main two get amiibos. The orange female is Kaori, and she's used for Agent 3 and often a rep for Splatoon 1 as a whole. The green female is Mizuho, one of Kaori's teammates. Usually she looks a little different, but keeping their outfits simple for stuff like this is common. She's also in mariokart. The blue male is named John. (Splatoon 3 players probably know this after the plaza johnpocalypse a month ago.) He's Kaori's male counterpart, and pre-splatoon 2 was used equally as Agent 3 alongside her, but has since been abandoned to keep just one agent 3. He also serves as a rep for Splatoon 1, but like all the males, he takes a back seat to the girls. The purple boy I've actually never seen outside of Amiibo and Mariokart- he seems to be a male equivalent of Laura, another promo kid and the pink female in Smash, that's used for collaborations. The pink female is Surume, and she's both Agent 4 and the poster girl for Splatoon 2. She's the only one out of these Amiibo without a counterpart in Coroika, one of Splatoon's mangas. You could say that Clip is her counterpart but the resemblance is less distinct as the others are. (I'll put the Coroika counterparts below.) However she does have a counterpart as a main character in the other manga, Squid Kids Comedy Show, along with a counterpart to her teammate Yari. The green boy's name is Cuttlefrsh, and he's Surume's male counterpart. He's only used for Agent 4 a few times and is generally considered to be the noncanon version. He's probably my favourite out of The ones I'm talking about here. And finally, the yellow Inkling is Veronika! If you're wondering why there's only one Splatoon 3 Amiibo here, it's because her male counterpart Hiro is an octoling, and the third member of their trio (Anemone) never got an Amiibo. What would've been the squid Amiibo for that set became Little Buddy, her pet Salmonid. Veronika plays a role as New Agent 3. In Coroika, Kaori becomes Headphones, Mizuho is Bobble, John is Goggles, the main character (Coroika heavily focuses on male characters as an alternative to the games, which are made to focus on the girls), the purple I believe became Rider but I'm not quite sure, Surume as I've said doesn't have one, Cuttlefrsh became Gloves, and Veronika became Mitsuami. (The English version calls Mitsu Braid, but literally everyone hates all of the English names for the Splatoon 3 arc, so we call her Mitsuami regardless.) I should note they are separate characters- there are personality, weapon, appearance and role changes that make the Coroika characters distinct from the promo kids. If anyone's got questions I'm happy to answer, and if you read this far... Well, show the promo kids some love, eh? There's eight for each game except for S2 who got ten after Octo Expansion gave us Patricia and Steven. All the names come from the Nintendo directs where they make their appearances.
Cool! I didn’t know the green one was actually a character lol, I ended up making an OC off her because it reminded me a bit of the sanitized octolings… (not quite the right colors, but close enough for me to not care lol)
@@hyzmarie oh that's so cool!!! I love it when people are inspired by the promo kids, they may not be seen often but it's cute to see that they still do their Thang and give people inspiration to boot. :D
Fun fact: Meta Knight's Brawl Final Smash isn't the only move to make it into the Kirby series - Dedede uses his Gordo Throw to lobby them over to Meta Knight during their Kirby Fighters 2 boss fight, while Parallel Dedede and Phantom Dedede use the move by itself during their respective boss fights in Star Allies and Forgotten Land Unrelated to Kirby, but another cool reference is Rosalina's down special which, if you look closely, replaces the tip of her wand with the Star Cursor from the Mario Galaxy games, which is used to attract Star Bits from anywhere in a level, explaining why the move works the way it does in Smash
The Kazuya fact is actually so useful, it’s easy to accidentally input that move when going for EWGF and the lag on it is awful, that makes going for EWGF a lot safer.
6:23 I think you got confused, the toad in peach's neutral special is the main one (the one who's featured in the most games) when Daisy's toad is just a random toad, that doesn't mean it's nonbinary.
Technically true for the English version only. Remember that the PAL version can be referred to the French, Spanish or German version, to name a few, who have different voice lines for other characters as well. Not in English, of course, but still different.
The Blood Falcon alt changing from saying Hell Hawk to Blood Hawk may TECHNICALLY be due to avoiding religious references, but it's more because it's a change stemming from F-Zero X's localization, as Smash still uses the word hell elsewhere. Weirdly enough though, is that the F-Zero anime and it's 2 tie in games both started using the name Blood Hawk in Japanese, meaning Smash is the most recent usage of that machine name.
24:26 to add to the Ryu fact, he has also fought super heroes in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, which could be read between the lines as another anime reference, since that's where the Tatsunoko side of the roster originated from.
Fun inkling fact: if you turn on smash stick in the controller settings, then run off the ledge and press down on the right stick right when you fall off of the ledge, you will float on the air for around a second as the bomb throwing animation plays out and drift forward in the air. This is great for mix ups on edge guards when you learn the timing.
Richter's holy water only has the Aura *hit* effect, meaning that it puts the blue fire effect on the opponent when they're hit by it. It doesn't effect the visuals of the actual move.
In a similar vein to the Toon Link trivia, Brawl was actually the first game to use "Classic Sonic" to refer to Sonic's original design, as he was referred to as such by a sticker.
6:11 the reason for this is because the toad peach uses is the main toad that is a reacurring character that appears in multiple games rather than another random one. You can tell because it’s a red toad with a blue vest, he is the only toad to have a vest that isn’t the same color set it’s mushroom spots. Daisy uses a blue toad which could be any other toad so it could be male or female, so they used they/them pronouns
also in Ryu's fact, Viridi mentions that he has fought demons, which might be a nod to how in the MvC-series, Dante, Vergil and Trish from Devil May Cry make an appearance
is the alien part a reference to the fact that Mars People from Metal Slug were in SVC Chaos or is there something 10 times more obvious i'm missing the it's talking about the super skrull nevermind
The two Byleth splash screens is because male and female Byleth have slightly different names in Japanese. Male is ベレト or "Bereto" and female is ベレス or "Beresu".
And, if I'm right, they're the only genderswap Fire Emblem characters to have different names in Japanese. Both Robins are 'Reflet' and both Corrins are 'Kamui', right?
As for the fox/wolf blaster fact, when a character is loaded, all of their effects are also loaded, and this is the *only* way to get a character's effects in a match in base game. Want to see the effects on Terry's Power Geyser? Terry MUST be in the match. Wolf's blaster hit effect actually uses one of fox's hit effects (the devs probably either forgot to remove it from wolf's blaster or create a new, identical effect for wolf).
24:15 Humans have nictitating membranes as well, but they're tiny and don't work anymore. It's that weird little flap in the corner of your eye closest to the nose.
16:20 Ness is able to use PK Flash. In fact, he is the only party member in his game who is able to learn it. Oddly enough, Lucas is also able to use PK Flash but that was the one move that Ness uses in Smash that they didn’t give to Lucas. The rest of their special moves do come from other party members, though.
5:50 Am I just crazy or do ALL the Jigglypuffs have the same cyan eye color? Like, its a bit of a stretch to say they're green... Looking at them side by side they do NOT look that different. The new color is just slightly darker.
You’re not crazy. Maybe not the _exact_ same shade of cyan, but definitely not green. What was actually changed is that the old model was based on the old Red/Green sprites, and so it was updated to better fit the modern appearance. There are subtle changes to the distance between eyes, the eye shapes/sizes, and the mouth.
14:18 Well, if I may chime in with a useless fact of my own, that's not actually a latin "H" (/eɪtʃ/), but a cyrillic "Н" (/n/), an analogue to the latin "N" and what is written in the name is "Null-Costume" or "Zero-Suit". "Нуль" has the same latin origin as the German "Null" both meaning "Zero" and as for "Костюм", the Russian language doesn't have seperate words for what the English language would call "Suit" and "Costume", so they call both of those things by the same name, that being "Костюм", or "Costume" as it is in the English language.
20:11 Wii Fit Trainer Fun Fact: Female Wii Fit Trainer was one of the first Amibos created, but Male Wii FIt Trainer & Wii Balance Board still do not have an Amibo to this day
The Mythra thing is because Mythra's Smash design was in the base game in the form of her spirit, and I'm pretty sure Xenoblade 2 was still getting updates when SSBU released. The Pyra spirit used her original design, so her Smash design wasn't made until Pyra and Mythra became fighters, long after Xenoblade 2 stopped getting updates.
Young Link using the bow has always bothered me, yea. Always felt he should have used the slingshot which could fire faster, but did less damage/knockback.
11:13 Actually, Ganondorf was able to wield his sword from Twilight Princess as a Custom Attack for his Neutral Special: Warlock Punch in Smash 4, which gave him more range and I believe a tipper too (though not really sure).
Random fact for the "random" selection option. You cannot random into a Mii character. This is likely due to the game not being able properly select a mii when random is picked.
6:28 this is likely because the red toad is a proper character, Toad, while the blue toad is just “a toad” (reference to species). Hence the change in grammar.
19:22 Really late, and someone else may have said this but my best guess is that the textures for the smoke are within fox’s data only, or wolf’s check for the smoke to appear calls on the fox’s rather than his, thus it only appears if those are loaded with fox being present
For Daisy... I Feel like its more of THE Toad versus A GENERIC Toad type of thing. For Peach, THE one and only Toad appears. For Daisy, its just a random Toad she pulled out of her castle.
8:47 But if you look at the Triforce symbol on her, it looks more like the ALBW model, as does her crown. It looks more like a fusion between their designs.
I have a fact about Sora, specifically in his reveal trailer. In it, there’s a part where he approaches Cloud but for some odd reason, Sora assumes a pose that I can’t seem to figure out what it’s meant to represent, in any of his move set. for a better explanation: on the 2:39 mark of Sora’s extended trailer, you’ll find him walking/running to Cloud, stop, then do a I guess pause animation? Idk if anyone else has pointed this fact out, but there you go.
10:32 tbf that seems more like story thing, since if Link were to use to use the bow it would create a loophole since Link obtained the bow on the future, not the past, if he used the bow it would create THREE bows, one inside the temple, on with him, and another one in the future (this is explained better if you played that one Portal game mod with three portals) causing a probable fracture on the timeline (more than it is already fractured) since its meant to be used in the future were he obtained the bow "then why doesn't this happen in Majora's Mask" because the time reversal directly comes from the Song of Time, the song of time protects key objects from duplicating on the past present and future, if you were to go to the chest qere u obtained them you will only get rupees (the song itself puts the rupees to avoid a space time disruption so that the flow of time detects there IS something in there) So yah
30:48 - "Big numbers make me happy, so you should hit that subscribe button right now." I'm glad you actually got an opportunity to put that comment in a video
11:12 One of ganondorfs customs moves in smash 4 replaces his neutral b with a sword attack, so ultimate isn't the first game where ganondorf uses a sword
Better Wii Fit Fact, in the World of Light intro cutscene, before being hit by Galeem she does Up Smash, likely because it has three frames of full intangibility
Canceling Kazuya's heavy down tilt is a reference to that move being cancelable in Tekken. In Tekken you would use it for mix ups, since have to choose whether or not you block low attacks. It doesn't really have any use in smash.

A bonus one for Zelda which I've always found odd, She's the only character in Smash Ultimate without an amiibo. The amiibo were introduced in Smash 4 when they used the model from Twilight Princess, When they changed her appearance in Smash Ultimate they never made a version that uses her Smash Ultimate appearance. Especially considering that they have made alternate versions of Amiibo for Zelda in her other games.
22:05 One of my favorite details in this game was how the sword trails change depending on which outfit the Mii Swordfighter was wearing. Seeing that they added the respective trails to the Persona protagonist costumes like Joker blew my mind!
20:20 the pose WFT strikes during the attack in the opening cinematic of the the World of Light (when all the energy beams descend) might seem a bit weird ,but the pose is intended to be the same one used when performing shield/block commands in game, suggesting WFT believed their best way to survive the attack was to stand their ground rather than run
Fun Fact: the footstool sound is taken directly from SMB2 NES. The sound for lifting a ripe vegetable or a Mushroom Block. Another fact is that Peach's Down Special is inaccurate to SMB2 as plucked Bob-ombs in the original game would always come out lit and just about to explode, wheras in Smash it isn't as close to detonation. It would also be cool if they diversified the veggie types to include all the veggies seen in the original (Turnips, Onions, Beets, Radishes, Garlic, Tomatos (NES only), and green Pumpkins) with the Onions and Tomatoes doing the most damage in reference to their place as the two vegetables present in the final boss fight with Wart. Garlic could also immediately fill Wario's waft meter in reference to his affinity for the veggie.
There’s also a fact about Bayonetta, when she uses her forward throw, she will say “十年早いんだよォ!” (Jū-nen hayain da yo!) which translates to “You’re 10 years too early.” It’s a reference to the voice line in the Bayonetta when she finishes someone off with the Tetsuzanko. That line comes from Akira Yuki from the Virtua Fighter series and that’s one of his infamous line with one of his win poses. That same line also appears whenever he leaves while he’s on the stage as an Assist Trophy. Here’s the interesting part. Whether you have it set in English or Japanese, she will say that line. Weirdly, the Japanese audio will play, even in the English.
Technically, the English voice clip of Bayonetta saying 十年早いんだよ is different from the Japanese one because it’s recorded by Bayo’s English and Japanese VAs separately

It could theoretically be any random blue Toad, OR it could be *the* Blue Toad, Bucken-Berry.

I still think Daisy should've pulled out one of the statues from world 3 in SML.
With the "Let's dance" line from Marth, it might have been used during his Final Smash since Sakurai said he wanted to introduce them into Melee but got cut.
The funny thing about Mythra's censored design is that a lot of people actually prefer it to the original, myself included

At least they coded an skip in near everything on the code so it doesn't crash
I was thinking they did a check for the smoke to spawn where if Fox was in the match and a laser hit then it would spawn but just didn’t add another check to make sure the laser was Fox’s. I feel things would get wonky if there was an unintentional call to a texture that wasn’t loaded.
I wish I arrived earlier so I could have said this
@@KARLOSPCgame Nahh.
The duality of effort in Smash:
"We snuck in a cool actual duck fact for the cartoon one on a dog"
"But we don't wanna remove one of the Bayonetta options from the voices menu"
To be fair, it takes less effort to not animate blinking than to make a menu change depending on the selected language.
@@Swag.Hackeryes, but there are OTHER baffling things in smash which shouldn't be a part of it (like how an opponent that is star ko'd does not count as ko'd until their model dissapeared... which means you can *WIN A GAME WHILST STAR KO'D...*
*WHAT THE ACTUAL F♤CK IS THIS GAME*
What’s more, ducks CAN blink conventionally.
I suppose the localization team is to blame for the latter
The Min Min fact was a little wrong. Her eyes Spiraled before she donned the mask. While it only says users with the ARMS trait has a spiral pattern it doesn’t mentione whether or not it’s permanent. And it states that it’s unstable without the mask randomly shifting between normal arms and the ARMS phenomenon. The mask and in tandem the spiral in her eyes is how she has better control over her ARMS. If an ARMS user’s eyes were always spiraled it’d be easy to tell who would have the ability before it properly manifests, but that’s not the case
Toad is both a species and a character. As denoted by his mismatched spots and jacket, Peach uses the character, while Daisy uses a random Toad.
Actually, I think Daisy’s text difference is because it’s not THE toad, but rather just a basic toad.
Peach’s toad is THE Toad that is her personal guard, since he has a red cap but a blue vest unlike other toads
It’d be like if I named my dog ‘Dog’, and he was male
Why use "it" though? Jokes aside, it seems like an odd choice for a sapient species.

Another interesting fact is that PK Flash does not actually do any damage in Earthbound, despite being a hard hitting move in Smash Bros.

One thing to point out about Kazuya's down tilt, is that he can also cancel the move before the hitbox comes out in the Tekken series too. It wasn't randomly a thing for him in Smash. In Tekken, it's mainly used to bait out reactions from the opponent like a block or a move to beat it out (not like you would use it that way)

5:18 As an artist, I gotta mention that Jiggly's eyes are NOT green, they're turquoise. In fact, color picking the eyes in an image editor shows that the eye color actually sits on the bluer side of turquoise than the green side, so TECHNICALLY you could say that they're blue.

Yeah, it’s kinda weird that they say in the game that this Zelda is form ALttP, but her spirit is from ALBW.
Specifically, the design details break down like this:
LTTP
- Design on the sleeves (Two blue stripes.)
- Belt and buckle
- Bead necklace and golden chestpiece (LTTP Zelda's chestpiece has dangling gold rods, unlike LBW Zelda.)
- Arm bracers (They're larger and more ornamental than LBW Zelda's.)
LBW
- Hair (Bangs in front of the headpiece.)
- Pauldrons (LTTP Zelda's pauldrons are smaller and more ornate.)
- Belt's ornaments (Though their actual design comes from LBW Zelda, The gold ornaments hang off of the belt like LTTP Zelda's do.)
- Overlayer on the dress (The pink matches LBW Zelda's overlayer color more closely, and the design on the hanging fabric is the exact same.)
Misc. (Smash-orignal Design Changes)
- Two blue stripes on the bottom of the dress.
Richter's isn't, so it can kill Red Pikmin. that's it.

Technically, Lucario debuted in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team, or at least a statue of him did.
Alakazam also mentions him in the postgame, he's apparently a legendary rescue leader, and the highest rank your rescue team can have is Lucario Rank
Though Lucario and the Mystery of Mew aired 4 months before Rescue Team released, though, to be fair, a lot of Pokémon were revealed in the anime before their first game appearances
So that means you can *politely* call someone an ass in Japanese?
That's honestly hilarious.

@@LloydTheZephyrian it's more that it's just attached in polite conversation regardless of the context you're using the word in. Technically Joker has even more possible combinations with his Final Smash victory screen :
When fighting on the Mementos stage with music from Persona 4 or 3, the stage changes color, but if Joker win on it then his victory screen will match this change (including the victory theme frome P4 & 3), including his Final Smash victory screen too.
So then it sorta doesn't make sense that Ness can do this ability even if he's never been there, so it would've been cool if Ness went into battle from Jeff Andonuts' UFO [ wich is called Sky Runner] first to a stage, [since he's only appeared as a Trophy Fighter], and then use PSI Teleport after if he'd already been to that stage)
16:12 Also for clarification, Ness only learned PK Fire, PK Thunder, and PSI Magnet from Paula and Poo.
OR... they could remove PK Flash and instead, Ness could use PSI Rockin, since Ness in the entire Mother Series can only use this move
. . . I think I'd might've put too much effort into this comment🤧
5:55 Real reason is that Jigglypuff's design in Brawl was still using the outdated design from Gen 1, instead of the redesign it received in Gen 3/FireRed Leaf Green
You can tell by the new mouth they used and the eyes being further apart, like the redesign, it's just that they wanted Jiggs to be updated to the current brand's image

Fun fact: Meta Knight's Brawl Final Smash isn't the only move to make it into the Kirby series - Dedede uses his Gordo Throw to lobby them over to Meta Knight during their Kirby Fighters 2 boss fight, while Parallel Dedede and Phantom Dedede use the move by itself during their respective boss fights in Star Allies and Forgotten Land
Unrelated to Kirby, but another cool reference is Rosalina's down special which, if you look closely, replaces the tip of her wand with the Star Cursor from the Mario Galaxy games, which is used to attract Star Bits from anywhere in a level, explaining why the move works the way it does in Smash
Kirby's neutral air also made it into Planet Robobot, where they can use it with the Smash Bros. ability, under the name Twinkle Star.
And then there's the copy ability that just straight-up gives Kirby his Smash moveset.
@@MattTOB618 Other than Twinkle Star, which is based on Kirby's neutral air, the other moves were all already moves from other abilities.
That’s a really neat fact about Rosalina
The Kazuya fact is actually so useful, it’s easy to accidentally input that move when going for EWGF and the lag on it is awful, that makes going for EWGF a lot safer.
16:40 When I first saw the Sonic movie I knew that was a reference just didn’t realize it was from smash even though I basically play it 24/7
6:23 I think you got confused, the toad in peach's neutral special is the main one (the one who's featured in the most games) when Daisy's toad is just a random toad, that doesn't mean it's nonbinary.
It's actually extremely likely that Dark Pit was created solely for the fact that they wanted Multiplayer for Uprising.
Light vs Dark.
Wii Fit Trainer is the only character to have a different voice in the PAL version
(and this applies to both genders)
That's what I was gonna say
Doesn't this apply to jigglypuff too? I know in melee and brawl he had different voice, might be wrong on that though
@@Mr-L-758 From what I can gather, no
Technically true for the English version only.
16:32 Ness does learn PK Flash in his home game
Even more ironically, Lucas also lears PK Flash in Mother 3...only for Smash to give him PK Freeze
NO one uses PK Flash in Mother 3

It could be Bucken-Berry. If it is, though, I love this adaptation of it.
@@remedynoneofyourbusiness6 what?
@@Golddude64 buckenberry is the blue toad in new supe and 3d world
also in Ryu's fact, Viridi mentions that he has fought demons, which might be a nod to how in the MvC-series, Dante, Vergil and Trish from Devil May Cry make an appearance
Also Firebrand from Ghouls and Goblins.
Could just be referring to Akuma/Oni/Necalli
@@ballisticboo7808Considering how they referred to "superheroes," it's likely all of them.

@@mrsonicfan21 Interestingly, "Bereto" and "Beresu" can both be considered valid transcriptions of "Byleth".

Ness is able to use PK Flash.

I also think they all look the same lol
I genuinely thought he was going crazy
It's especially like... How do you compare the Shiny with the normal variant, and then go "Ah yes, the Smash Variant is clearly closer to the Shiny"
Fr that's what I thought

20:11 Wii Fit Trainer Fun Fact: Female Wii Fit Trainer was one of the first Amibos created, but Male Wii FIt Trainer & Wii Balance Board still do not have an Amibo to this day
Adding to Roy’s inspirational history, he technically first appeared in melee, too
The Mythra thing is because Mythra's Smash design was in the base game in the form of her spirit, and I'm pretty sure Xenoblade 2 was still getting updates when SSBU released. The Pyra spirit used her original design, so her Smash design wasn't made until Pyra and Mythra became fighters, long after Xenoblade 2 stopped getting updates.
Fact about Mario: A specific Taunt where he puts a thumbs up deactivates his hitbox for attacks like Kirby’s Thrust Kick, allowing for a dodge.
16:20 Ness’s neutral special PK Flash, is a move he can learn in his home game decently early. Near halfway point.
For Daisy...
I Feel like its more of THE Toad versus A GENERIC Toad type of thing.
For Peach, THE one and only Toad appears.
For Daisy, its just a random Toad she pulled out of her castle.
i cant hear someone say "the toad" without thinking of that classic video of the guy singing over the rainbow road song

But if you look at the Triforce symbol on her, it looks more like the ALBW model, as does her crown.

10:32 tbf that seems more like story thing, since if Link were to use to use the bow it would create a loophole since Link obtained the bow on the future, not the past, if he used the bow it would create THREE bows, one inside the temple, on with him, and another one in the future (this is explained better if you played that one Portal game mod with three portals) causing a probable fracture on the timeline (more than it is already fractured) since its meant to be used in the future were he obtained the bow
"then why doesn't this happen in Majora's Mask" because the time reversal directly comes from the Song of Time, the song of time protects key objects from duplicating on the past present and future, if you were to go to the chest qere u obtained them you will only get rupees (the song itself puts the rupees to avoid a space time disruption so that the flow of time detects there IS something in there)
So yah

One of ganondorfs customs moves in smash 4 replaces his neutral b with a sword attack, so ultimate isn't the first game where ganondorf uses a sword
Yup, that's correct. Lotta people forget about his custom moves..:(
That move (and one of his taunts) actually uses the sword from twilight princess
Also, Ganon uses that sword with the mushroom tip as a victory screen pose in melee
But Ultimate is the first Smash game where his sword is used in his base move set.
Ryu and Ken's perfect shield sound effect is the parry sound effect from Street Fighter 3
Snake's design in Smash is actually an amalgamation of Solid Snake and Naked Snake from Metal Gear Solid 3. Snake is wearing his Metal Gear Solid 2 outfit, but with the facial hair of Naked Snake
That would've been cool to see the updated amiibos for smash ultimate.
22:05 One of my favorite details in this game was how the sword trails change depending on which outfit the Mii Swordfighter was wearing. Seeing that they added the respective trails to the Persona protagonist costumes like Joker blew my mind!
20:20
Wii Fit Trainer’s attacks have little to no body-breaking or motion effects
20:20 the pose WFT strikes during the attack in the opening cinematic of the the World of Light (when all the energy beams descend) might seem a bit weird ,but the pose is intended to be the same one used when performing shield/block commands in game, suggesting WFT believed their best way to survive the attack was to stand their ground rather than run
Wow, I main Dark Pit and I had never paid attention that his dodge sound effects are unusual.

19:50 I wonder if ness was used as a base for villager in that case?
