- Ridley's got an ace up his sleeve. I might as well talk about it regarding his overall performance in Europe including a Top 8 placement.
This one's a little quickie. It's for the sake of the algorithm and there's a lot of projects that I want to get out this fall. Now to REALLY get to the next big video.

Okay, just to clarify: I'm NOT SAYING that it's good. This is just a breakdown of its potential.
No wonder it bypasses armor, he stabs fighters in their family jewels. (most of the time)
Ridley is canonically a huge sadist. He would 100% go below the belt to make a for suffer longer.
Bypasses armor, stabs you in the nuts, pays your bills and makes your coffee
As a Ridley main, I have been mourning Down Throw to Skewer at 0% ever since it got patched out.

It somewhat still works. It's just that it's much harder to follow since the animation no longer plays out
I honestly hope next game they make it so it does a fuckton of shield damage if you hit the sweet spot to make it worth using.
Bowsers one is Usefull But he got it because he's easy to combo
Fun thing about the skewer is that most players have never actually been hit with the skewer in match so they rarely ever know how to react once it’s happened. Sometimes I just like throwing it out there to close range fighters so they know what’ll happen if they get too close.
Now if only Ridley's weight was actually reasonable, maybe I'd actually play him

Additionally skewer is wavebounce able so you can catch a lot of people off guard and makes tech chasing with it easier.

Yesss I've always loved the armor bypass. Here's a tip for playing against Joker: if you're at the right distance from him, and *especially* if he's at a corner, you can bait out Rebel Guard with a semi-fully charged Plasma Breath, then you can literally just run up to him and get a guaranteed Skewer

Thank you for showing Skewer breaking Yoshi's hyper armor AND for showing the difference between armors.
It's annoying to hear commentators call any kind of armor "superarmor" as a blanket term.

@@leomurry8195 I never said it was a good move. I'm only saying it's broken. Melee taught me that even bad moves can be insane.

Ridley skewer is cool they never shouldve nerfed it.
I never get hit by this move. Is kinda bad. But mabye my mains can just avoid it better than most.😊

Except it’s 30 frames startup, 65 frames end lag, and -29 on shield.
0:15 But... you can't tech Ridleys Down-B. Just like Focus, you go down and have to choose one of four options.
Oh wait hold on, I should’ve added footage about Ridley down-throwing them, their lack of tech, and THEN the skewering. lol My bad.

@@RaheemRollair You also can't skewer an opponent who's missed the tech. It just hits them with the weak hit. The down throw to skewer worked because they *didn't* need to tech, and no longer works since they changed the move to a hitgrab.
I mean it’s got some use in niche situations but it’s still his worst move. Not a single competent player getting hit by this in neutral, and if you manage to hit, they’re not missing the tech. If someone is bad enough to get hit by it outside of it beating whatever button they pressed, you didn’t need it to beat them anyway
