The Bros in it because he’s the *face of Nintendo.* he’s the main character and the only reason it’s not him being the only survivor in world of light is because Kirby is a metaphor alongside galeem and dark chain dude
Another reason Mewtwo's "A Legend Reawakened" is sick is that Boxing Ring is a Smash 4 stage. Mewtwo came back as DLC in that game, which makes it fit even better.
A brief Kirby Lore factoid that makes his fighter name even better. In Star Allies you fight Void Termina as the final boss and in the arena you’ll fight Void as the stronger variant. Void Termina and Dark Matter is what is born if void is born from negative emotions and malice, Kirby is void but pure positivity instead. “The Pink Demon” then works as a reference to a possible outcome where he became a Destroyer of Worlds instead of Destroyer of Cakes.
@@leoperd3487 Yeah, I just explained a bit of the lore to give a reason for it instead of it just being a cool name and reference to an older Kirby game.
Ok so in Smash 4, the boxing ring titles were different between American English and European English. I'll always remember Mario's European title, which is "Smashes Bricks with His Fists" because it might literally be the worst possible description for Mario.

@@vanessasandoval96 That's because you can't afford to make mistakes, it's only when you suffer too much damage that you get knocked off stage, so don't get hit too much. In return Mac has super armor in some of his attacks, his tilts are pretty strong, his counter has pretty good range, a KO punch, and finally his speed allows him to both run away and rush down opponents. Mac can punish super hard but he can also be punished super hard. A true example of an extremely high risk high reward character. So how do you not make mistakes, be patient. Some characters are not meant to play like everyone else.
It's also not really justified in-game. We never get to see Byleth doing mercenary stuff so it's all informed secondhand that this very quiet school teacher was somehow a killing machine in their teens
@@thekiss2083 actually it is justified in game and we see why he's called that too. The justification for the name is given by Hanneman if I remember correctly, it's because Byleth, before Sothis awakening, was basically emotionless, so he would cut down every enemy with a completely stoic face and with ease too given he's been trained by Jeralt and has the crest of flames. Imagine you're in a battle and this guy just come and start killing so many people by himself, showing no mercy and to top it all, a face completely blank, I'd say that the name is completely earned. The in game way of showing us I would say isn't as good, but it does work, basically Byleth starts with really high stats, has really good growth rates, and really, he's just one of the best units in the game (the best in my opinion since he's available in every route). If that isn't enough to convince you, there's also fe3h's spin off, fe warrior three hopes, which really show us what Byleth is capable of

Mario's title is also a reference to Miyamoto wanting to name him Mr. Video in Donkey Kong and include him in every game he made. Not only accurate but also a REALLY niche reference to the goat
Insane that you have Mr. Videogame as number one without knowing the reference behind it. Mario was took the name Mr. Video at the same time he was Jumpman before being renamed after Nintendo's Landlord.
The interesting thing about Diddy Kong is that other languages give him MUCH better titles: *The Jungle Acrobat* *Pirouettes and Peanuts* *Trigger Happy with his Peanut Popgun* *The Fastest Peanut-Shooter in the Jungle* And possibly the most intimateding... *Small monkey with a BIG weapon* ... Yeah maybe that isn't such a good one...
Extra fact about Mario's Boxing Ring title: The name "Mr. Video" was actually one of Mario's planned names in Donkey Kong before it was scrapped and changed to Jumpman (and later "Mario" in Donkey Kong Jr.), so his boxing ring title might actually reference that.
“Mr. Video Game Himself” is definitely the best title, Mario is recognizable worldwide even by people who don’t play video games and has appeared in more than 200 of them, it’s just so fitting. The title itself is also smug and confident so it goes pretty well with the boxing ring theme.

For Diddy, I would’ve gone with “Best Little Buddy”. It’s not the most intimidating but it’s a little more creative, as it fits with his role in the DK games 😅
In Japan, Erdrick is THE Legendary Hero. Like, if you were to ask any random Japanese person who they thought of when thinking of the title "The Legendary Hero" (伝説の勇者 Densetsu no Yuusha), 8 out of 10 of them will likely say, "the Hero of Dragon Quest III". The reason why the various Links or the other DQ heroes even have titles other than "The Legendary Hero" is because Erdrick monopolizes it: that's how freakin' big Dragon Quest III is over there.
They could have found names for all of them. My ideas were: Dq11:The Luminary Dq8: The Dragovian Prince Dq4: The Zenithian Warrior Dq3: The First Erdrick Since Erdrick is said to be a title more then a name.
I appreciate the pun of Shulk's title being "the visionary" but he's one of the characters where the in-universe title would sound perfectly fine and intimidating enough in my opinion, "True Heir of the Monado" has a nice ring to it
Min Min's title may not be the most _creative,_ but it makes the most _sense_ for her. EVERYONE in ARMS got a secondary ring title/nickname (like how Spring Man's is "The Bouncer", Ribbon Girl's is "The Airess", Byte & Barq's is "The Clockwork Cops", Max Brass's is "The Commish", Dr. Coyle's is "The Rad Scientist", etc).
Byleth's moniker is very intriguing when dissecting. Byleth's very name comes from a demon, yet Byleth in FE is a human being. That, along with the fact that Byleth isn't fond of being referred to as such makes it more interesting. They're a human being named after a demon, yet their infamousy as a mercenary with them not emoting much made people not want to see them as anything more than a demon. A very cool yet sad moniker.
I respect the Mario #1 placement. In a space filled to the brim with video game characters old and new, how hard is it that you are recognized as THE video game.
Even then. Mario's title is also wordy and he was still number 1. And claiming that no one is faster than you is something of recognition, specially when indeed, sonic is the fastest character in smash
Some out-of-context details from Kirby lore: Nightmare demons Attempted suicide by lightning Earth is frozen over An angel of death Heart, Dream, Soul, Dark, Chaos
The Pink Demon, Cunning God of Death, The Last of his Kind and Bloom of Your Doom always sounded REALLY cool to me, glad to see someone finally appreciating these 👍 I may or may not have a Brawl bias because I may or may not play it almost everyday
I actually really like "The Visionary". It references his visions, but also the vision he had of a better world and is ability to lead humanity into it. Also appropriate given Shulk's distaste for violence (against non-Mechon at least)
As a Lucas main, I was so confused bc in my language his text literally translates to "The boy from Tazmily", which sounds super lame, when I saw his official english text, it made sense for him being higher than what I expected :)
Attempting to come up with new titles for every character in F-Tier (with varying success): Diddy Kong - Second Banana Yoshi - Jurassic Steed Larry - Larry Sora - The Light Wielder Olimar - The Space Survivor Alph - Koppaite Captain Rosalina and Luma - The Galaxy's Goddess Fox - Ace Aeronaut Chrom - The Shepherd Exalt (thanks Fire Emblem wiki) Hero - The Lore's Legend (yeah I got nothing) Pikachu - The Chosen Banjo & Kazooie - The Raring Duo Wii Fit Trainer - Cardio Conqueror Wolf - Cosmic Criminal Isabelle - Smashville Secretary
"Koppaite Captain" doesn't really fit Alph all too well since Charlie is actually the crew's captain while Alph is just the engineer. I think better titles for Alph would be "Engineer of the S.S. Drake" or "Savior of Koppai"
That intro with the 'what if you forget their name' with them being some of the most famous video game characters had me laughing more than it should have been
I don't know why they didn't call Sora "Guardian of Light", since not only It's an actual title of his, but also the conflict between the Guardians of Light and the Seekers of Darkness is the whole point of the Dark Seeker Saga
In the Wii Fit series the female trainer is usually the mascot of the Yoga class of exercises while the male is the mascot of the Strength training, don't know if the titles are references to that, just want to bring it up
Also the reason why Byleth is called the "Ashen Demon" is because they're well known in their games for killing many without a shred of emotion on their faces. It's also pretty cool playing as a protagonist who has an already confirmed mass kill count lol
9:09 that is Byleth's mercenary name earned through their skill and proficiency. In Three Houses certain bandits face Byleth with Dread and in Three Hopes where Byleth is an antagonist we are able to see how dangerous they are to an opponent
Larry Koopa: "The Youngest" Ah, yes-something that each and every living thing since the dawn of life itself has been at some point, for at least a split second. Kirby has actually had the title "The Pink Demon" in previous entries, such as Kirby: Planet Robobot. In fact, with the release dates, it can't be for Forgotten Land, as that game came out long after SSBU. Another one of those "home-series titles" (though a damn good one at that)
The Wiimote Sounds, the Boxing Ring Titles, *these* are the things I love about the Smash Series. Little easter eggs, callbacks or just fun stuff related to everyone's home series. It's not a Crossover if you don't do this at least a couple of times.
While he’s my favorite Hero, and his game is my favorite in its series, I can’t help but think “my dad f***ed a dragon” is an odd thing for one’s title. Though really the Zenithian Hero ain’t much different. Just replace “dragon” with “angel”.
I personally like Roy's title a lot, especially since Roy is the youngest main lord, being only 15-16, and VERY inexperienced as a leader for a large portion of the game, but despite that, still leading his army to victory in stead of his father. You'd never tell that from smash alone though, since Roy looks much older, at least 18 in my opinion
Explaining a possible change on some picks. 1) Shulk. He is a very multilayered character. And even outside its series, “visionary” is a very cool title that has is used. Guess if you have a high Rick and Morty IQ then it is way more enjoyable. And in game context it’s also better since the context of that power changes, from borrowed power to something that actually belongs to him, to finally something he willingly gives up. 2) Cloud, similar praise that Shulk has. Except they differ on the theme of FF7, a game about identity. So being called 1st class is actually a classic Cloud roast on context because of a fake identity, but also works for clueless Resequel only players since they messed up the story. So it goes up or down depending on personal opinion. 3) Joker’s title isn’t actually joker’s. That title belongs to Arsene, both the stand and the fictional character that the stand is based on. “The great phantom thief” and “gentleman thief”. But if they went on a more Joker route he could have been given a lot more titles like the “Wild card” that all persona protagonists are. But that’s very context dependent, which is to say the given title works for casuals like the guy ranking them, so the title can go up or down depending on the person, but leaning more to applauding it more since again, the given title works for people who don’t know Joker.
The titles in ARMS are pretty much the same, they just pop up in Grand Prix mode before you fight each character or during the intro sequence. Just in case you're curious to see what we could've gotten in an alternate universe where Min Min wasn't picked: Spring Man - The Bouncer Ribbon Girl - The Airess Ninjara - The Student of Stealth Master Mummy - The Grim Creeper Min Min - The Ramen Bomber Mechanica - The Scrapyard Scrapper Twintelle - The Silver Screen Queen Byte & Barq - The Clockwork Cops Kid Cobra - The Speed Demon Helix - The "Man" of Mystery Max Brass - The Commish Lola Pop - The Sucker Puncher Misango - The Spirited Fighter Springtron - The Mean Machine (since Springtron is a special fight in Grand Prix, you only see this when you play as him) Dr. Coyle - The Rad Scientist
These have always been one of my favorite details in the series. Mario's title has and always will be my favorite. It truly shows how massive Mario is as a character and I love it for that reason.
Fun fact: In Spanish, Docter Mario's title is "Te receta Jarabe de Palo" (It prescribes you Stick Medicine), with the Sufix "de palo" meaning when someone beat the other dude in a fight, but also "Jarabe de Palo" is the name of a Spanish Rock Band

Kirby was first called “The Pink Demon” in one of the Superstar Ultra pause screens
@@leoperd3487 Yeah, I just explained a bit of the lore to give a reason for it instead of it just being a cool name and reference to an older Kirby game.

They should have capitalized the THE like you did imo, to get the message across better
Still, I think calling Young Link the "Hero of Time" works because it's a specific sort of hero, while Hero remains *The* Hero
I wonder if adding Erdrick to it; “The Legendary Hero, Erdrick” would’ve spiced it up over here.
They could have found names for all of them.

Dq11:The Luminary
Dq8: The Dragovian Prince
Dq4: The Zenithian Warrior
Dq3: The First Erdrick

Byleth's moniker is very intriguing when dissecting. Byleth's very name comes from a demon, yet Byleth in FE is a human being. That, along with the fact that Byleth isn't fond of being referred to as such makes it more interesting.
They're a human being named after a demon, yet their infamousy as a mercenary with them not emoting much made people not want to see them as anything more than a demon.

I respect the Mario #1 placement. In a space filled to the brim with video game characters old and new, how hard is it that you are recognized as THE video game.
The Fastest Thing Alive could've also worked for Sonic, but it's a bit wordy

Just in case you're curious to see what we could've gotten in an alternate universe where Min Min wasn't picked:
Spring Man - The Bouncer
