    This is by far the best video showing this procedure. No stupid music, gets to the point, and shows difficulties you may encounter, and how to get around them. Bravo. I was not even aware of that adapter plug, and now I am, a $33 part, for Mopar OEM, which I will make sure I have when I do it. The bolts in the trans cross member actually screw into the trans ? Another thing I did not know.

      So the trans mount has studs that go through the crossmember and the crossmember bolts to the frame. Thanks for joining me on this repair today 🍻

    I did mine today.
    The design of clearance between oil pan and exhaust cross pipe is so bad like many stupid designs of Wrangler. Sample hand brake adjustment.

    Thanks for doing this without sucking it from the top, i wanted to see the messy way of doing it. Will be doing mine outside on jack stands, in Feb., in VT... on a day its above freezing... but waiting for that day might be more toward March. LOL... I bought Jeep last year, with 101k, and not sure if previous owner ever did this service as fluids other than oil are the most neglected. Did the front and rear differential today on the 2015 Rubicon unlimited. I have the automatic trans.. wish I had manual.

      I’m getting ready to do this again, this time I will replace the pan with a Dorman pan that has a drain plug. That should make these jobs much easier to do. Also I love manuals but the best thing on that jeep is the auto transmission IMO.

    Uh oh, oil leak probably blown oil cooler housing, a problem just about every Pentastar has, and what should be a lifetime warranty item for all Pentastar motors. I am not sure if the Dorman aluminum unit is the fix, as it also has problems with seals blowing, whether you use included, Felpro or Mopar seals, the whole design and engineering of it is a huge flop. I had mine replaced, on my 2016 75th Anniversary Edition at 50k miles (still under warranty), and the dealer told me the latest version of the Mopar part addresses many of the issues, not all, but many. The December 2022 cold blast up here, in the North East (I’m in NY) was dubbed “The Great Crackening” for JK/U owners with the 3.6. 3 of my friends with Jeeps had their oil coolers fail too because of this. Mine failed, and so did my rear main seal. Luckily, I had the Jeep Certified Pre Owned 7 year / 100k mile Powertrain warranty (included for free with purchase in 2018), that covered both, that would have been $2200 to be serviced by the dealer, if I had to pay myself. I am covered until April 2024, so if it happens again, hopefully before then.

    • @ATEMOFFROAD
      @ATEMOFFROAD  Рік тому +1

      All very good information and this would make sense why this problem has been so popular! It’s very annoying that Jeeps allows this with out a lawsuit! I I guess we are the greater fools, which will only hurt them in the long run. Even though Doorman claims this is a fix , I still do not know, however 6k miles and still no leaked on the oil housing! On this video the transmission connection o ring had failed, since I was already there was a good time to pan flush the unit! Thanks for watching 🍻

    • @ATEMOFFROAD
      @ATEMOFFROAD  Рік тому

      Absolutely, I thought that was strange too but the filter does seem secure enough, if properly installed. I suppose the pan would keep it from coming completely off. But I agree for off-road should be secured with a fastener. Good thing the new gasket sealed up great! 🍻

      Yes sir. Had the oil cooler replaced last month, so I’m well versed there. The oil looked brownish so that was throwing me off. The valley by the oil cooler is dry, and checked that to make sure. I used my cell to peek into that 13 pin connector area, and there was a pool of oil. It’s dirty so hard to tell the color honestly. But there’s a small puddle by that connector and it’s wicking it’s way up that wiring harness. It’s also following gravity and pooling at the transmission pan bolts also. Come to think of it, it definitely looked brown, but the engine side top to bottom is bone dry. Only at that adapter plug is there oil… damn, I may have misspoke.
