- Back to my favorite ship in the game, the Orca. But can you pull of a consistent cloak trick?! I was just having fun fitting the Orca but I wouldnt recommend this fit and it was more of a challenge.

This was more of a personal challenge to see if I can could the Orca to 'insta-warp' from the cloak trick. I dont recommend this fit but it was more a fun fit to make something interesting happen :D

Also for the basics of mwd/cloak, you can make the heavy T1 haulers do it, you just have to invest in either low slots(not ideal for cargo space) or rigs to increase your CPU/PG enough to fit the oversized MWD. I keep my IttyV safe in null using it, just had to invest the etra ISK into the rigs.
Very informative video! At the moment I'm not able to fly an Orca, and with today's prices I'll not be flying one for some time. But it's a good idea to use these tricks when I'm actually able and willing to fly such a ship.
As for the Bestower (and similar slow industrials), I've had pretty good successes with this trick. At the time I believe I cancelled the cloak just before the MWD cycles. That way the MWD still provides the required 'umpf' to get into warp directly. But that could just be a combination of skills, fitting and implants.
Definitely a great idea to use for the faster industrials. These will be used for the high value stuff anyway.

Yes found out when you fit T2 align rigs and inertia stabs and use 5% align implant you can pull off perfect cloak/mwd tricks.
I prefer the 1.78 Million HP fit :))
I used to built Orcas (in fact I have a whole stack of BPCs of them + components BPCs) before the new patch came out and selling them in Perimeter which was 17 jumps away. Would sell 3-4 a month without a single loss. I had a special fit (without rigs) for using the cloak/warp trick, I could get it down pretty low, but, I never used overload, that's a great idea.
Sadly, not sure if I'll get back into Orca production, going to have to see how the market pans out.
My personal favorite for transport...my trusty Occator. ;-)

Just some ideas for additional videos:
- Discussing the recent industry patch from a macro level- is this good for the game overall? I've seen a bunch of videos on it, but they are usually detailed and aimed for industry players. What can non-industrialists expect?
- The recent batch of hoboleaks that have appeared on the eve/reddit- what do you think is going to happen lorewise? And what do you think *should* happen? How can these developments create good events and content?
- Are events even the way to go since they're temporary?
- The devs are playing again! What do you think they should do from here to keep things fun in-universe?

You can get a Bestower to work with NWD cloak with max fitting skills with 27+k space. Fit 1 ACR and 1 RCS and you can fitva compact 50mn with full expanders.

lol, i never had the opportunity to avoid a gank by just "not hauling sth. gankworthy"... may work in hi-hisec (if you're lucky) - but most of the gankers do the "if not sure just kill" strategy
The bestower can fit a 50mn with just too reactor controls in the lows so it is able to do mwd trick too.
True. I think the bestower can fit 26,000m3 vs 19,000m3 of the sigil with full cargo expanders. The extra 7,000m3 could make a difference to some, but I prefer the extra fitting room and 50% faster AU speed of the sigil :D
granted I understand the aspect of showing us a cheap, easily doable fit to allow us to do the cloak-jump trick with the orca, but i was hoping you'd also so us the more expensive (modules)way of doing it. even if it's on the test server. also what about using the higgs anchor rig in conjunction with other rigs/modules. but overall i did enjoy the video and really appreciated the point you made of getting your align-time to 23 seconds or less for it to work.
I appreciate the comment! I originally did show this but it would have made the video well over 23mins long. I was able to get the align time up to up to 28 seconds but you need a X-type MWD and Concord cloak to pull it off if you want to keep the bulkhead & DCU in the low. But you are also dedicating 2 rig slots to align time resulting in less tank. The Higgs Anchor Rig 75% slow on top of the cloak slow is just too much even with a 23 second align time. Overall I probably did 14 different variations of Orca fits testing each one multiple times.
This is kind of the reason why I want to move away from these kind of guides. Dozen of modules, stats, skills, and variables to take into consideration and I try to be a 'show' instead of 'tell' kind of person but on youtube not everyone is going to click on a 20+ min video let alone watch it for longer than 5 mins lol
@@eventon9372 i can understand that. i spend a lot of time at work just listening to video's and talk shows about eve because i can't play it. i had recently watched a video on the higgs anchor (lowering your 75% jump speed to like around 15m/s) and really wanted to test it out but wasn't able to due to the war last night. I may represent a small number of people but i really enjoy playing around with the fitting window and it has really helped me learn a lot about the way modules work in the game. I personally love watching your video's, including this kind because it gives me a different perspective on what modules can be used for and maybe even some of the lesser known effects they have. thank you for touching back with me

Can you fire off a fleet boost charge during the 3 second cloak activated but "can still activate other modules" ?
no, you cant activate modules that affect other ships while cloaked
Youre allways lockable with a tackler and a High scan-res unless tidi says n0. But noone will go thought the hassle and take some remote-sensorb. ships with ya, unless its low/00 still good vid. ;)
Yeah three days ago they shot me in an nearly empty frigate out of the sky in Tama (what a suprise shipkilling in Tama) it was cheap for me of course but I was really impressed how the tackler managed to tackle me because I had still some tech 1 inertial stabilizers fitted. And I asked what was the resolution the anwser was 3500.
Could you explore the idea of Hi/low sec mining in the Porpoise if the Orca drone mining gets nerfed into the ground?
thats a good idea. I do think the porpoise will be the new solo mining 'Orca' if it gets nerfed real hard which I assume it will.
You mean WHEN it gets nerfed into the ground. Anything good, anything you enjoy, anything you have invested YOUR time and money in, rest assure CCP will frick up, sooner or later. Guaranteed.

@@SargonOfAmerish I am no miner. However, I am someone who has been around long enough to observe CCP doing this repeatedly. So much so, in fact, that one of the reasons I stick around is, their survival is fascinating because most companies who pull as many shenanigans and repeatedly pissing off segments of their customer base would have self-destructed already.
Even after all this time, highsec needs much more love. CCP has been pandering to big alliances long enough. Now, making it so much easier to gank in highsec, will only serve to put new players off. Beef up Concord and make the gankers work for it.
Perhaps something has changed or my skills are better but I can get the Bestower to work. Used a 50MW MWD and an improved cloak, it did req 2 reactor control units to have enough PG though,

Cyno guide would be useful- still confused with this one year into playing!
Step 1: buy a recon
Step 2: fit a cyno
Step 3: get some liquid ozone
Step 4: go to a friendly station
Step 5: make sure the red circle around your ship when you hover over the cyno isn't inside the station (important)
step 6: light the cyno
Yeah, I understand the basics of lighting a cyno, it’s more how you plot a course, how far you can jump etc. Looking at jump drive capable ship prices at the moment, I don’t think I need to worry about it for a while! This is definitely a rich mans way to move about!

Yup, it only made it worse lol the slow from the higgs on top of the slow from the cloak just didn't work
I believe the Higgs increases your intertia due to the increase in mass. Increasing inertia is the opposite of what you want for the mwd cloak trick. Inertia is the key to getting to warp speed quickly.

I thought you weren't supposed to be able to cycle your prop mod while cloaked
Definitely a big myth around cloaking :P you can turn on non-combat/targeting modules (MWD, sensor boosters, hardeners etc). But modules that require a target or affect other ships aren't allowed (guns, remote systems, command bursts)
you carnt, this "BUG" will only work on the first cycle of the cloak, after that NO module will activate. Also this trick will work with all ships as long as you use the right size MWD and prototype cloak.
