      It's a longer format than the 3 second attention span of the internet prefers. Eve is not for those with short attention spans, conflicts can last months. Some of the biggest battles i've witnessed in eve lasted 18 hours or more sometimes. Pilot counts in system were well over 3000, with more in the neighboring systems tackling other fights.

      The video is good because it narrates a story, BUT it also shows the shortcomings of EVE, because there would be the POTENTIAL for making something epic like Star Wars ... if the filming of it was done in a first person / close up way instead of a "strategic god-POV". With such an "Excel sheet style" it is hard to really create drama ... and looking at the PVP tournaments they have once in a while supports this. Its a real shame ...

    Man, you really downplayed the buildup to that last fight.
    24-7 patrols. 24-7 Hole control. 24-7 intel.
    A seven day long marathon, our desperate struggle to try and accomplish anything to a methodical seven-day siege executed without fault.
    People staying up to the wee-hours of the morning, or not going to bed at all, just because nobody else was awake to relieve the patrols and scouts.
    The circumstances leading to the eviction, in our eyes, was bullshit, it frustrated us, that people would take away everything we had, just because they didn't like our CEO.
    The result, consequences and epilogue made it all worth it.
    Still not a fan of your leadership, but I'll always be a fan of the content you've brought to us.

    I applaud you sir. For Eve is not much of a game as much as it is an experience. And it's the story tellers who take the random generic looking (not to say its full of eye candy) clips of video, the samplings of random fleet comm audio and then weave these parts into it's proper place in the brutal yet beautiful tapistry that is Eve. Without these epic tales of the events that unfold in this unscripted sandbox they would be list with only a few kill mails to prove that indeed something happened... That my friends is what truely makes Eve greater the the sum of its parts...

    But this video, narrative and the story are MAJESTIC. A true work of art. Watched it from start to end and actually made me want to try and form part of the Pandemic Horde one day. @@islamwasrightaboutwomen4420 Joining horde? One reason comes to my mind. Instantly could ping a fleet and commanding a fleet. at least for ratting fleet. Several times joining some FC that dont know what drone bunny is.
      Which is good, FC aren't born instantly. they need experience to build. PH are good ground to start. Join them, join some fleet to know how several FC commanding their fleet, ping some ratting fleet in newbean ping, doing random stuff and tank your isk/tick, whelp several of your fleet coz any of you didnt watch intel, and you will get better eventually.
      Several hundreds hours FCing at your belt, many corp will need your FCing skill. and you can start your own story from there.

    This was the most amazing movie I saw for a long time. And I mean amazing as the fightclub. Last week I didn't know what EvE is. I played Eve echoes open beta for four days, I liked it. But today beta closed it's wormhole in the morning after an event at 3am which I attended and went to work at 5. After work I watched some Eve online content on YT knowing, that I can only use Android devices. A little sad I jumped in here. Pressed play without noticing the length. After maybe 5 minutes I did notice the length but I'm already in. Enjoying how it was made, how it was even thought of, the emotions of a modern warriors in a sci-fi but very true war. I won't lie. I did understand 30ish% of what was happening. But I'm used to commanding like that as I played few MMORPG pvp battles. And yes. It may sound lame but I had to write it. I'm not sorry. I'm amazed and impressed. Thank you.

    I scanned my first wormhole yesterday, and skulked about someone elses worm space in my tiny uncloaked Tormentor. So this video was ELECTRIFYING.
    Best vid I've seen so far. It is like D Day.
    You were happy to tell a story against yourself, more than once, when things when south. You employed spies, covert ops and a fifth column, adroitly rolled gates and cut off reinforcements. The battle was not just fought in the worm hole but also along a dozen linking gates as reinforcements were called up. The target corp spent their time jeering rather than doing their guard job, and paid the price.
    This was a truly intelligent write-up. Is there a noob corp that I can join?

    • @Ballonboy01
      @Ballonboy01 4 роки тому +7

      A lot of it has to do with excitement in the heat of the battle. The rest is just reassuring oneself that you're very clearly heard and if someone lags a bit, they can still hear what's being said. Especially when you got people trying to talk normally, leaders want to make sure their fleet is focused on his/her targets.

    • @MostTwisted
      @MostTwisted 4 роки тому +8

      The other part is that you have to remember part of being a FC is being sure damage is applied properly. He may have multiple targets locked and be able to see damage being spread incorrectly. You don't waste time trying to figure out WHO is shooting the wrong target or why. You just keep repeating until it's properly applied. Few things are more frustrating than watching a tank on the edge of breaking and seeing three other targets taking minuscule damage.

    THIS is the reason I started playing in the first place... Not WH wars, but massive fleet engagements where everyone is focused on one cause, be it throwing off the chains of oppression, taking what the original owners don't respect enough to use correctly, or taking an area that is highly valued. Flying with friends, and having fun. That's what the game is all about, correct? That and respecting the fallen, be them on your side, or the opposition.
