Hi Jay, sooo great to see you! Yes, you are absolutely right, it does start with changing our own mindset!! Thanks so much for your comment, i really appreciate you 🥰❤️

Hahaha far from it, Stasia! You're one of the most lively, positive people i have the pleasure of knowing! Love your biggest dream, it will totally come true i know it. And when it does i can't wait to hear all about it 🥰
It’s a blessing to get old. Some don’t live long enough to say “I’m old…”, unfortunately. Sometimes when we are down we need a new or different perspective to reboot and replenish our healthy mental state. 🙂❤👍
Fueson, i see you dancing!! Just sub'd and can't wait to watch your videos! Me too...I really feel like i'm living my best life now and it will only get better 🥰
@@danafindwell yes, I am also dancing, I have a big playlist and I danced a lot hiphop in my 50ies and even breakdance. I sub'd your channel too, finally I am not alone. We are likeminded! Yes, indeed thats the best time we have, because we enjoy it more!
Hi @agata2556, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and i'm sorry i had to delete the video, my mistake!! Its funny, i think worrying about our age can start at any time. But i think there's a lot of societal pressures on women and men when they reach their 30s, in my opinion. Thanks soooo much for your wonderful comment, it was really great hearing from you!! 🥰
As someone who trains women over 60 to start running and do ultra marathons, you're never too old for anything! Thanks for getting this conversation going!
Ms. Dana, one of your best videos yet. I was scared to take on a new big project in a new big city because I thought I was too old to move forward, or I've ran out of time because of my age. I had to change my mindset and be an example to my girls and grandbabies that age is nothing but a number. I can still get up and run 3 miles every day and lift weights. That's a blessing within itself! So, thank you for this video. It reminds me that I'm on the right track and I'm not scared of aging anymore! ❤🌹🌹🌹🌻🌻🌻🌻
Hey Ms. Myra! Thanks soooo much for sharing some of your experiences with me (and this community!), i am motivated by you and your change in mindset! Thanks for your awesome comment, i really appreciate you 🥰
I love this. Thanks for sharing. Knowing I am not alone and that there is someone out there on a similar path gives me some motivation to climb over these hurdles. I am just finishing up a graduate degree and advanced certificate to change careers at 46. I want to start weightlifting. And I also want to start putting energy into reselling again after several years off...my death pile is my entire living room. Your words and calm are inspiring. Looking forward to watching more of your stories. x
I've been loving your videos, I am turning 40 soon and I am taking note of all your good advice and positive mindset. I am going to work on finding some hobbies, watching you at the gym, at dancing and at drumming makes me realise I only speak to people at work. I really need a social network, it looks fun!
Ohhh Kaybee, I really appreciate all of your support, i love seeing your comments, thank you. I've never been so active, who knew that turning 60 would do this to me! I remember when i was in my 40s i was soooo tired from all the things that i HAD to do. It would have been really great if i had something that was fun and just for me! Keep me posted on things you might be trying out, i'm excited for you! 🥰
I don’t know how, but I stumbled on your videos about a week ago. The things you have said have struck a cord with me, and I use that as motivation in my journey. I’ll be 58 in a couple of months and am looking to re-invent myself, or as you have put it… start over. This video, stopped me in my tracks. It never occurred to me that I was subjecting myself to ageism with my words and thoughts. I see how the things I have said have affected my mental health. I journaled right after watching this and will use it as a reminder and the base of changing my thoughts on aging. Thank you for opening up your life and struggles. You rock!
Soooo great to meet you Greg! Yes, me too, i didn't realize how i was affected by ageism and how i was perpetuating it, definitely a wake up call for me. I love how you journaled it, i've got to journal more often, thats a great tip! Thanks so much for your wonderful comment, I really appreciate you! 🥰
I love your videos. I used to look at aging as a negative thing. I now look at it is I am getting better and better in every aspect of my life. Staying young is an inside job.
I stubbled across your video and I'm so honored to hear your story. I was laid off in 2019 and spent 2020 trying to figure out what to do. I'm 51 and I started to see ageism creep up in my job search. I started my own executive search firm and now I've placed 23 people in executive positions with nonprofits. Thank you for sharing your story. It is people like you that I want to help and inspire to pivot to something different that they can build.
Hi David, wow i'm so impressed with how you started your own business and helping people! Thanks so much for sharing your story, you really inspire me! 🥰
I sit here wanting to comment but the words will not come. So many things to say but all I can say is thank you and keep it coming and lots of thoughts to keep thinking on. Have a beautiful day!
Ohhhh Kristy, thanks so much for your wonderful comment! I feel really lucky that i got to meet you in our social media call, you are such an awesome person. This topic about ageism is really a big one and i didn't quite know where i was going with it! I realized after making it how much i was entrenched in it all, its crazy! Maybe thats why turning 60 feels so good, i feel like i'm free from alot of crap! Thanks so much for everything, I really appreciate you! 🥰 (ps...i hope i got your name right because Mel always pronounces my name differently, so wasn't sure if its Kristy or Krissy! I’ve been discouraged to learn new things like learning a new language due to my age, but you’re very encouraging. I’m also out of work now and feel like it’s hard to find a job.
Ohhh learning another language, i've always wanted to learn Spanish! I'm hoping one day that i can. Yes, it can be very discouraging at times, i think back when i was in my thirties and it seemed like i could multitask, do a million things and i had so much energy! But now, i can't do all the things, and i think thats ok. Good luck with your job hunt, i don't know if this helps but my brother was able to find a new job and he's 57. Thanks so much for your comment, I really appreciate you! 🥰
Great video Dana! I feel that even though your selling videos were great you have found your niche...inspirational videos! This video resonated with me. I am one of those who always says "I am getting old" ...I embrace this phase of my life but I should see it as an opportunity to excel in things as a 40-year-old. Funny you say that younger people tend to not want to hang out with older adults. In my case, it has been the opposite. I gravitate... them to me...with older ladies. I find it easier to carry conversations with them than with women my age or younger. Anyhow, thank you for inspiring us as always!
Brenda!! Its soooo great to hear from you! Thank you for your awesome feedback, i'm very happy that you like the new videos. I actually feel great at 60, which makes aging less scary. Thanks so much for your awesome comment, its so nice to hear from you! Hope you have an amazing weekend! 🥰

Yes, you are so right! I do have to say i'm really at a good place now at 60 years old, perhaps it because i know i need to enjoy the time i have left in my life. Thanks so much for your wonderful comment Gedyx, I really appreciate you! 🥰
Some cultures place value in the elders, and they honor the aged. Maybe the U.S. is different? I live in the US now and there is definitely a difference in cultures since we have that melting pot effect? My parents were taken care of by their children and we would never send them away. I don't think my family has issues with ageism. We seem to enjoy the wisom, and appreciate the humor and wit our elders share today. My ancestors never cast out the seniors, they do the opposite and usually take time and invest. I see you playing Hanafuda, a card game my own mother played with my daughter. I grew up in Okinawa as a child, and my family traveled often. Dana, there are so many things your videos I admire and appreciate. You're kindness and honesty are a youthful quality. You will never be old, because your heart is young and pliable. We age when we are stiff and unwilling to learn. Keep posting such inspiring videos and you will never feel old.
Hi Teorapai Clean! You've brought up soooo many great points! I do feel that there is such an emphasis on youth in America, so there is a push to be 'not old'. I do hope there is a shift, but we can shift it in our own beliefs, right? I love that you grew up in Okinawa, i want to visit one day! Thanks for all of your awesome support, I appreciate you! 🥰
Well said Dana! Aging can be daunting- changes in physical and psychological health, yet we all have that commonality of growth and wisdom we captured along the way! I adore talking with older people to hear their stories of life experiences and find them fascinating. I like to think we each have a story to share and everyone deserves the respect at any age! Thank you my friend, I look forward to hear more from you!❤
Onebusymama, its sooooo great to hear from you! Yes, i agree, everyone has interesting stories to tell and older people have a lot more of them. I think you are touching on intergenerational relationships, and i agree that they are soooo important. It really enriches our lives to have these connections, huh? Thanks so much for your awesome comment, I really appreciate you my friend! 🥰
we should be celebrating that we made it this far living on this planet...meant to be here, even in our old age. We really should celebrate aging. great video on the topic. thank u
Well said, catzee! I totally agree with celebrating aging. I have to say that i love being 60! I'm grateful to be here. Thanks so much for your wonderful comment, I really appreciate you! 🥰
I've led such a wayward life. The last 19 years have been the fullest and I became so enmeshed, and found so much happiness and joy, that I stopped thinking about my age. Often times I forget it, because I don't feel 52. I'm still the same curious, silly, funny, wild, brazen, outspoken, joyful person I was at 20- and I think that's the secret - To not let go of the joy you have. Life can get us so down and people around us dampen us by saying "At your age?" or "Aren't you a little old for that?" When we allow those words and sentiments to sit with us, we lose space for the joy we hold. I believe that if we fill our lives with experiences that are unforgettable, and with people who make us laugh harder, who cheer alongside us, who allow us to love hard and we remain fierce in facing the future- age will not matter. Not to ourselves, and that's what really counts. Thank you for reminding me of this. I'm grateful for you Dana. Many blessings to you and your family ❤❤❤
I'm grateful for you, livinglushly, you've said it so well!! I'm getting to that point of being free of a lot of expectations and i love it! Thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support, I really appreciate you! 🥰
You are soooo welcome Iris! Its wonderful that you are starting over, i hope you enjoy the process. Thanks so much for your comment, I really appreciate you! 🥰
I found your channel last week. I turned 60 this year. I've never had a difficult time with my age or birthday, but this time, I did. I felt like I was old now because of the number. I am working on my mindset and self-care. I hope you keep doing your videos. Enjoy where your feet are😊 Kim
I'm soooo glad you found my channel, Kim! Just know that i'm working on my mindset too, i think this is key to our happiness. And yes, i will enjoy where my feet are! 🥰
I know how that feels as being a student at City College of San Francisco and a class I was taking in person I was the oldest in the class and I would wonder what the other students were thinking HA! But now I can complete classes online more comfortable at home! Your face still looks young and just give the Lord praises for letting me live this far in life which I do everyday!
hey Mr Gary! Ohhh yeah, its feels really weird being the oldest in the room, i know how that feels. Thats so awesome that you are taking classes, love it! Thank you so much for your wonderful comment, yes gratitude is soooo important! 🥰
Helloooo Emmanuella, i loved reading your inspiring comment, thank you! And i really appreciate you watching the videos...please let me know if there are any topics you would like me to cover, i'm keeping a list! 🥰
I have also been hiding my age because I feel when people know your age they treat you differently. But I feel better at this age than when I was younger. I am beginning to embrace my age because in the end age is just a number, it's how you feel about yourself. I'm 61 btw
Hi Shirley, yes i totally agree with you. I actually feel better today at 60 than i ever have! I love that you are embracing who you are...thanks so much for your wonderful comment, I really appreciate you! 🥰
Somehow my comment was lost. I remember some of it. This was your best video yet. I appreciated the topics you discussed and would not mind more. I am so impressed that you do so many fun things, the hip hop, the drumming, and thrifting. I like the pure thrifting videos too!
Thank you sooooo much, Lisa! I accidentally launched two of the same videos so i had to cancel one, thats how your comment disappeared! I definitely appreciate your great feedback and also video ideas. Thanks for all your support, Lisa, i really appreciate you 🥰
I totally agree with you, this is very important subject.. I am a teacher in high school and I like to say my age… I feel that my age is a bonus because of my experience and I appreciate my gray hair 😅 please upload more videos like that. My first language isn’t English but when I listen to you, I understand perfectly because your speaking is so clear and your voice is so calming. Thank you friend and ❤from Israel.
Hi Dalit, i think your students are lucky to have you as their teacher! Thank you for your feedback, it helps me a lot. I'm really glad you like videos like this, i'm always looking for good topics! Thanks so much for your wonderful comment, I really appreciate you! 🥰
You nailed it Dana! Great content and the dancing is on point! I’ll be 60 in October. I remember growing up I kept up with my birthday down to the days and minutes. Now I say give me a calculator. I seriously could not keep up with my age once I turned 50. Lol. Technsport made a comment on a recent video stating people don’t start living until they realize they’re going to die. Those words are an eye opener. Keep up the awesome job of having a forum to talk about and share life journey!
Oh wow thanks sooooo much for all the great feedback, Tulipinspired! Hahaha i know what you mean, it gets a lot harder to keep track of those birthdays! But the big 6-0 was pretty hard to forget, and i have to say it was the best one so far! I feel very happy and at peace with my age, more so than ever. Man, that Tech is a smart guy and no one tells it like it is more than him!! Again, thanks so much for your wonderful comment, I really appreciate you! 🥰
@danafindwell I'm so happy UA-cam recommended your channel. It feels like you're talking directly to me. I no longer feel like the only person thinking this. 🥰
The only reason I've ever felt bad about my age is cuz ppl are rude and horrible to me. Been called OLD since I was in my 20s. no joke! And even in my 20s there are men or ppl who are wayy older be like, oh were like the same age, ur 46 def not. But who's bringing it up? Always the other ahole! Not in my late 30s facing the same sht and it's hurtful, not all women face this. Everyone has a diff luck, that's a fact.
Its so true, some people can really say hurtful things. I'm so sorry that some people do this to you, Crystal Felicia. I feel like saying negative things about age is so prevalent in our society. Even to the point that being or looking old is undesirable. I believe there's beauty in looking mature! Thanks so much for your enlightening comment, I really appreciate you! 🥰
Girl... you're so fit and strong! I for sure need to work on that for my health. I just had the conversation with my best girlfriend this morning that technically we are considered SENIOR CITIZENS at 62 & 63. Blows my mind truly. We agreed it is a miracle we are still alive and well and thankful to be able to say that. I'm loving your content and glad I found your channel.
Hahaha i know, according to my Goodwill store anyone over 55 is a senior! I don't argue with that because we get the senior discount, hahaha! Thanks sooooo much for your wonderful comment, I really appreciate you! 🥰

@@danafindwell Arigatto Gozaimasu 🙏❣️🇳🇵
I found your channel last week. I turned 60 this year. I've never had a difficult time with my age or birthday, but this time, I did. I felt like I was old now because of the number. I am working on my mindset and self-care. I hope you keep doing your videos. Enjoy where your feet are😊 Kim
I'm soooo glad you found my channel, Kim! Just know that i'm working on my mindset too, i think this is key to our happiness. And yes, i will enjoy where my feet are! 🥰
You're so right and I'm here for it. Let's go!
Yes, Darla! I'm super happy you're here, lets do this!!
There is no age limit for acquiring education. As far as there is life, learning continues either formerly or in- formerly. Keep it up 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I love your tips & suggestions. Also love the drumming and dance clips! :)
Thanks soooo much for your awesome comment wyrdwitch, i really appreciate you! 🥰
Mahalo for your perspective.
57 and not getting younger.
Thanks so much for your comment Eric, I really appreciate you! Aloha 🥰
Hi my dear friend, I'm really motivated by your videos. I'm glad to come across your channel ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Helloooo Emmanuella, i loved reading your inspiring comment, thank you! And i really appreciate you watching the videos...please let me know if there are any topics you would like me to cover, i'm keeping a list! 🥰
Great video very inspiring!
I'm really happy you enjoyed it, Sassylassy! Thanks so much for your wonderful comment, I really appreciate you!
Thanks!
You are very welcome! And thank you for your support, I really appreciate you!
Thanks for all your support, Lisa, i really appreciate you 🥰
Great life advice. I’d like to learn to play Taiko drums. I’m in the Midwest.
Thank you! Yes taiko is a lot of fun, let me know when you find a group! 🥰
❤
Nicole!! Thank you sooooo much!
We are all born with two lives. The first one doesn't start until we realize we only have one!
@@technsports Hey Tech! I enjoy watching your content as well! Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge!
Great video, Dana! ❤
Thanks soooo much, Vicki, i really appreciate your support! 🥰
@danafindwell I'm so happy UA-cam recommended your channel. It feels like you're talking directly to me. I no longer feel like the only person thinking this. 🥰
your hip hop class looks like so much fun!
Hi Kelly, yes its really fun! Its actually a really nice mix of ages, i love it. Thanks for your comment, I really appreciate you! 🥰

Thank you Dennis 🥰
You are so beautiful.
Thank you! 😊
I have never been concerned about my age or ageism. Did I spell it right?😂. I’m 71, I turn 72 in 2 months.
Hahaha yes you did! Thats so awesome, grannyprepper! I'm learning and i'm loving it. Its great to meet you! Thanks comment, I really appreciate you 🥰
The only reason I've ever felt bad about my age is cuz ppl are rude and horrible to me.
You should always hide your age and try to look younger. Because you don't owe anything to the world. Let them think whatever they want.
I’m 19 and I’m in awe of your videos. I’ve always wanted to be old and buff 😂 so thank you 🙏🏾
Hi SpiritVines, i love your comment, thank you!! I love how open you are to different ways of thinking. You have an amazing spirit, thanks soooo much for sharing it with me, i really appreciate you!! 🥰
