  • The transition from the Army to civilian life can be difficult to navigate: it takes patience, self-discovery, and surrounding yourself with the right people. Megan Militello-a former air traffic controller turned organic granola CEO-shares what can happen when we have the courage to start over. Megan Militello is the founder and CEO of Elevated Oats, a gourmet granola company in Anchorage, Alaska. She became devoted to spreading the message that living a better life is possible-and consuming food that lifts you up is a gateway to get there. She lives an elevated, healthy, and adventurous life in Alaska with her two dogs. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Beautiful! Thank you for sharing your story.
After 13 years of drug abuse and addiction, I want to change and will do everything in my power to overcome intrusive thoughts and habitual habits.
God bless everyone who has walked through darkness.

If I had chance to start my life over again I would definitely make sure I would do it right and undo the mistakes I made.

Sometimes I wonder about this ME culture (myself included). I have a neighbor who just had a stroke in his 50s, and his wife dumped him. Maybe she’s living her best life now too. But, neighbor’s life is now a solitary daily struggle.

Yes I tuned out when she said she left her husband. Not my kinda person and not the vibe I seek in a TedTalk

I think this is the first account I've heard about someone moving from Hawaii to Alaska, and thriving in the latter state.

I like her message of starting over. I don’t care if she has or doesn’t have tattoos on her arm or how she looks. I don’t care what any of the other comments say. If you don’t like the experience you don’t need to listen 👂 😅😅😂

So I wasted my lunch break on “HER” story as opposed to a lesson that teaches and helps with starting over. I’m disappointed, but I’m happy she’s happier and healthier.

Ok so .... a person who's family had enough start-up capital to just 'start a business " is supposed to be a lesson to EVERYONE ELSE struggling with no money to our name? Waste of time.

On one hand, good for the strength and not turning back. On the other hand, this « ALL ABOUT ME AND MYSELF » times are killing humans as social beings. Already today, a higher percentage of women and men are depressed. They’ve been married a couple of times, have kids with different partners, but are lonely.
She says she tried. But, do we have, today, the tools to succeed in trying ? Or is the selfish behaviour already deeply ingrained in us and we just can no longer commit and accept compromises ?

Oh I'm done with this, I'm a woman looking for videos on starting over, not how to use and step on people. I'm getting away from a narcissist, certainly not going to watch another one giving out tips. Best of luck everyone out there x

    But I'll get married....then divorced.
    Again, I don't know myself
But I'll remarrie... then just leave.

This was a terrible story. She bounced from man to man, based on her current wants. She's been able to live in Hawaii, get her master's degree and admits that she relied on these men financially. This video was not helpful unless it's to manipulate men to get you your optimal life.

    • @wootwootwoot32
