  • It's obvious JJ likes TenPoint crossbows. He's shot a lot of game with them over the years, and he trusts them, because they always work. The Ohio company's new-for-2023 crossbow is an upper-mid priced bow called the Stealth 450. It's not the company's flagship because it doesn't have reverse draw technology, but that technology only does two things: First it makes the bow shorter in overall length, and two it makes it more expensive. Other than that, the 450 has it all, including "scope struts" that ensure the scope never falls out of zero even if the bow is dropped. And beleive us, JJ has dropped a lot of crossbows in his day! JJ tells about all its features and honestly tests it here. Is it worth 2K? That's for you to decide.

Can you do a review on the tenpoint vapor RS470?

My new Stealth 450 had an obvious quality issue that should've been easily caught during even a rudimentory indpection before it left the factory. I'm disappointed, particularly given the high price.

      What was it?

@BullShooterswithJeffJohnston The rear portion of the polymer arm on top of the trigger box was rubbing against the bolt that connects the scope struts to the scope rail at the top. Every time I'd try to move the trigger box past that point I'd have to push moderately hard with thumb to overcome interference. Could see witness marks where interference was occurring. My wives 450 did not have this issue, fortunately. This is not the end of the world but when I spent $2600 on bow with Burris scope then I wouldnt have expected such an obvious flaw, that is actually quite irritating since it's the type of issue you'd experience every time it's shot. If they indeed did test fire the completed bow at the factory then I'm not sure how they didnt catch it prior to shipment. Remember this is an expensive "American made" item , not a Walmart cheepo.

@BullShooterswithJeffJohnston I already did pass along to tenpoint. It wasn't a difficult thing for me to address but something that shouldn't have occurred. I'm sure there were tolerance stack up issues that weren't completely addressed when they rushed to patch on those struts. I'll tell you one thing, I'd be very leary of their new bow designs for 2024. Lots of new stuff and I wouldnt want to be the customers working out the bugs on $3000+ bow with such a new design.
