Honest Review: Testing TenPoint's Evolutionary TX 440

- For years the Ohio-based TenPoint company has produced some of the best crossbows money can buy in terms of quality, accuracy and ease of use. And they might have been somewhat guilty of "If it's not broke, why fix it?" But for 2024, the company debuts two crossbows, the TX 440 and TRX 515 that literally broke its own mold in. These crossbows utilized more modern CNC machining and less molded polymer to produce a new line of X-bows that have more features than ever. In this video, JJ reviews the TX 440, what he believes is the current sweet spot in terms of speed vs. accuracy.
Whiles it's likely the all-around best crossbow for hunters that TenPoint has ever produced--which means it's likely the best crossbow ever produced, period, surprisingly it's not the company's most expensive. That doesn't mean it is cheap.
JJ's purpose here is to make sure you know what you are buying, and what to expect, before you buy. View the whole video to see the unboxing and discovery process and testing protocols, or just watch the conclusion.
The bottom line is that it's fast, quiet, accurate and has multiple features that have been improved to bring the serious crossbow hunter a bow he or she can depend on. If you have any questions, be sure and ask JJ in the comments. He is beholden to nobody except you, the viewer. Thanks for watching!
I have seriously watched this video and your review on the Havoc RS440 about 5 times each before deciding to just go nuts for donuts and pick up the TX440. Great job reviewing both of them, btw.
For those who dont already know Wyvern Creations gives a lot of extras when buying this bow. 6 more arrows , a case, broadheads. Great place and best prices on crossbows, and tax free
Good info! Thanks!!
Great info indeed!
Good stuff. Followed your tip and actually just ordered it from them, and got extra bolts, broadheads, and some lube (to help with the $2400 price tag 😅).
Can't wait to get her unboxed and running.
And better customer service than Tenpoint themselves
Thanks again for your fantastic and honest review. I’m seriously considering it.
My pleasure sir. Thanks for watching.
5/21/2024-Jeff great review. I am buying a TX for my son. Really nice review. I had a Ten Point 505, took 3 nice bucks, and I am looking for a smaller crossbow for myself also. I may consider a TX or TRX. thanks for the review. Terry - Pittsburgh Pa area
My pleasure sir. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
I'm his son and I didn't even know he commented on this video. I was just reading comments and found it lol. I live this bow
I have the TRX 515. It is AWESOME!
Great Review!!! Worth the price!
If they say made in USA they should use all USA parts including scope. Great review as all ways. I watch your reviews before I buy there the ones I can trust.
The scope is a tough one. Only a few American optics companies and all of them are expensive. Thank you for the kind words!!
There is no true made in America scopes. All scopes use foreign parts. America doesn’t make the glass or internals for scopes. Plus Germans make the best scopes.
@@joew1123 scopes are kinda like watches. It's damn near impossible for any body in any country not to use foreign components. That being said a scope assembled in the US with Japanese or European glass would be nice. I really wish Leupold would drop a decent fixed or locking magnification crossbow scope.
enjoyable, and informative video. Thanks!
Loved the video. Photos from customer looked really familiar. Lol
When Daryl Dixon reviews a crossbow, you shut up and listen.😂
I'm buying this. Lol
How do you like it?
I just picked up the 515. It’s awesome.
I think you are the best out there. Went out and bought one but i think it is no hunting bow. The scope as you said ant much good because the dots are to small and you should not shoot deer that far.I did hunt with a stealth NXT with a range master pro 60 yard scope. the dots are twice as big. Now. Its on my tx440 . You better be carefull loading in dark make sure arrow is in right. Great target bow.Hunting bow should be with right scope. The bad thing its hard to load.
I want this bow so bad, but my wife would literally kill me seeing how i already have 3 Tenpoint bows.
The struggle is real!
@@BullShooterswithJeffJohnston I ordered it, lol
@@iBleedStarsAndBars Atta boy!!! lol I don't have any skin in the game, so not trying to sell product. But I believe you bought the best crossbow, all around, that money can buy. Please let me know what you think about it, after you have it set up and doped out. I'm just one guy and I'd love to have more data. I'd say bite the bullet and order some extra arrows! Also, for hunting, i recommend Sevr broadheads. Titanium, go with the 150 grain. They actually quiet the bow and are tough. They're the only mechanical I'll shoot with a crossbow now, and you really need mechanicals after about 350 fps because fixed blades start flying squirrely. They lock open after impact too, and can be locked so you can sight in with them. Just my 02.. but man they are pricey!
Sell all 3 TP get this one.
😂😂😂😂😂👍👍👍la donna è sempre la donna,
What scopes do you normally upgrade to?
That’s a nice crossbow. A little out of my price range though. I ended up settling w/ the Swat X1
Moi qui voulais le trx515, vous m'avez fait changer d'avis avec ce tx440 qui me semble plus fiable et durable, surtout si je pense faire régulièrement de la cible.
Merci beaucoup pour votre vidéo prenez soi de vous. 🙏👍
Look into the spyder web targets for the fast bows
The tx440 is nice bow.
The trx515 not so much its had numerous problems in the factory don't let them lie to you about it
First time crossbow hunter & buyer. I can’t find much info on comparing the ten point evol. Tx440 and the tenpoint nitro 505. I’m 70, had triple bypass and have lower back, wrist, and shoulder problems. Cannot have anything heavy and need expert advice can you help please. Thank you!
Which one is better the tx440 or the ravin 26
Need help picking 440 or 515?!?!
Getting ready to buy one..I'm 6.1 and long arms..do you think it's too short
Trex 440, long range Deer Blaster👍🏻
The TRX 515 WILL BLOW YOU AWAY!
How does the tx440 compared to the nitro 505?
God forbid u have a question ! This company has no human customer service! Bought this bow the scope was inoperable out of the box . Bought for a hunting trip next week. Tried for 3 days to talk or even get some positive direction. I'am shocked after spending that much money for something obvious before shipping and now I cant even try to get it acknowledged especially this close to my trip . It blows my mind how businesses post Covid have no appreciation for and respect for those that got them to the point they feel to big to care!
My question. Would you shoot mechanical broad heads ?? My fear would be the biggest buck of my life 15 yards and the mechanical broad heads would blow through before opening. The fixed blades are just too small in diameter. I would love to get one but really want the mechanical broad heads. What are your opinions.
Modern mechanicals don’t have an issue opening. Been shooting them for years in my bulldog 440 without issue
@@danshort10as long as they are good broadheads. I HIGHLY recommend the SEVR Robusto and if you are unsure just watch the Lusk Archery video on them.
@@ammoiscurrency5706 well yea. If your shooting a Ferrari of a bow, you aren’t going to put regular gas in it
@@danshort10 you'd think that'd be obvious but wyverncreations has a video about broken strings. Says it's almost ALWAYS the arrow. His example is a person who got one of these bows nailed a nock sighting it in. Tried to fire with a super janky broken nock and that broke the string. I've known of guys who buy really high end bows and arrows but will try and run the most chinesium Amazon no name mechanical broadheads and illuminated nocks. You'd figure that dropping and ounce of gold on a bow would mean a guy would be willing to spend an extra 1/4 Oz of silver per broadhead since he's probably only buying 3-6 of them but 🤷 some guys pinch the weirdest pennies
@ lol those guys crack me up. Maybe buy a cheaper bow and use a better broadhead? I mean the cheaper bows now still shoot at least 350 (probably more) and are more accurate than the bows I started with back in the day
what was the speed?
Tenpoint havoc rs440 crossbow, The reverse limb is much better and safer overall, that's for me
