- For as much flak as they may get, Subaru’s legendary Impreza STI got the status it has today because of an incredibly rich racing history. And that history is celebrated BIG time at Subaru Japan’s new (open to the public!) STI museum. Don’t mind us as we ogle all of this incredible and historic blue and gold race machinery.

@@ZombieZim713 The ignorance itself is disrespectful. You go fanboy over Subaru, but you go to the mecca and don't even know about the man who helped build the brand. This is the equivalent of calling one of the Japanese legends "Chinese". I'm pretty sure that would go down as disrespectful.

I actually got to meet Petter a few times last year at Rally. Last time in LSPR I got an interview with him on my channel, what an icon. So rad to see his car their too.

I'm a Car Designer for Subaru at the North American Design Studio. The STI Museum in Mitaka is super cool. Subaru's Tokyo Design Studio is also on the compound (but restricted to the public). The passion is inspiring!

I'm very surprised that they don't have all the modelcars yet. But in a way it's cool that they let the fans contribute to the museum.

What I appreciate this place is, they really letting you pop the hood or sit in to feel what an actual rally car should be.
Prodrive never quite get the recognition they deserve for helping make the Impreza WRX the global phenomenon it is.
I got to go a few years ago. But even thou the museum was technically closed. They still let us walk around. Love that place.

I was into rotaries then i crashed 1 and my parents made me buy a toyota camry from then i was a toyota guy but now i have a 2008 gh 2.0r special edition impreza which is not fast non turbo but it feels like a lot more value for money , its 4wd which is important for safe handling and it just has some small features that make you feel like the car is pampering you more ,For instance the se model has full black leather recaro bucket interior which sold me on this car, but now i really have the thirst for a wrx sti ! I think i can afford one later on. Thanks for this video! there are a few videos where collins car is driven on youtube!

Interesting that the 96 Sanremo car in Mitaka carries the same plate as the 96 Catalunya car that is owned by Prodrive UK currently. I didn't realise there was duplicate number plates. Great video Larry!

God I loved visiting Mitaka!!! I don't think they normally let people touch the cars. All of them were roped off when I was there.
From what I can remember, the 2003 WRC car that Solberg drove and won in, is in his own personal garage after buying it from his race manager for 10k(iirc) Euros. Either he'll donate it to Subaru, or he'll keep it and pass it down onto Oliver.
