back in 2018 when i first time on japan, i visiting mitaka gallery with my buddy but unfortunately the gallery is under renovation.
and we ask some guy on the gallery if we possible to get inside gallery or not. when he say no entry i was so sad and almost cried
me and my buddy step back and just sit and take some picture of the building near some wood board on the front gallery
after couple minute feeling desperately, the guy from gallery approach and he say chotto (just a little) and he guide us to upper floor through under renovation building. my hand and my leg are shaking when step the stairs its feel special tour for us , soon after we reach upper floor i see those beautiful cars and my buddy tell me do not cried but i already cried. i feeling blessed can see those cars, meet nice people
it was most epic journey of my life. i shake hand and thank you very much to guy who help us
i swear to myself i will visit mitaka gallery again
sorry to spam on comment, i just wanna share my story here, and sorry for bad english
THANKYOU.....
DIGITALRACERS that’s a remarkable story! Thank you for sharing ! I hope you enjoy this video ☺️
That guy from the gallery IS the seventh star from the Subaru logo...because that kind of heart is cannot be seen with naked eyes... Kudos to that guy... And for you guys... You are one lucky lads...
MANLY TEARS WERE SHED
I too cry...I cry at the current state of the Sti. The luster is fading. The Cherry blossoms once pink, wither on the branch (overly dramatic) As an Sti owner there has been nothing exciting in the last seven years to pull me away from my old car. Even after one spun bearing and a warped head. I patiently wait.
DIGITALRACERS 😲
Seems like 46 minutes of knowledge is still not enough... Thank you sir... Superb presantation..
This channel gonna grow up very fast!
Professional channel with Very good content, thank you very much.
awsome content. didn't even feel the time flying by
50min really well spent. Thank you very much. And thanks for the subtitles at the end for the manager. Much better than let them struggle in english or translation on the spot
Already liked before I am able to watch it as i know it will be a blast of in depth information knowledge about details. Love it
Thank you for your show !
JDM Masters It's the best channel/show at the moment with QUALITY content unlike the most-subscribed rushed in vlog channels of youtube.
Word, it's the fine attention to the detail what makes you feel like you're there in person! 🤘🏼
It was the Colin McRae Rally video game on PlayStation 1 back in the late 90s that really got me interested in the actual WRC. It was truly amazing what McRae could accomplish in dirt what some of the best drivers could not do on a paved track!
Thank you so much for yet another iconic stop and must see location in Japan! Apparently now I’m going to have to stay longer than a week next time I am in Japan!
For me it was Test Drive V Ralley on the Sega Dreamcast and the group A Impreza
Yep. This game brought Subaru back into our mind. And we where
much younger.
I remember playing Colin McRae Rally 2005 on my nokia ngage.
Great content... every episode feels like a documentary
That lady has a very pleasant voice to listen to, very relaxing.
I like how detailed you are to every single car. Thank you for bringing us in a journey not many can afford to go to.
i love the care you take getting in and out of a cars not to scratch them. makes a funny sight on a roll cage car haha. great content keep it up
Much love to Suburu! They're definitely held in high esteem within the compact autosport community. This channel's is unbelievable, where else do you get full on access to auto showrooms, car shows and a host with a plethora of knowledge behind the machines that made Japanese autosport scene not just a hobby but a culture and way of life for enthusiasts abroad.
I'm a huge Subaru fan, and I still know a few more things from you, such a wealth of knowledge! Absolutely amazing content.
Keep it up! will always support your channel!
Cheers from another Subaru fan :)
here too :)
Ditto : never seen the STI Logo difference's before either!
For a Huge fan of Sti 22b this whole video really fascinating...
All Hail to JDM Lord
Really hope Subaru and Mitsubishi can bring back the glorious days...
Jealous boy here....he sat in the driver seat of this iconic machines.....dammm. regards from Portugal, keep on the top car videos, thumb up even before seeing the videos...
this YT chanel is like missing crown jewel on JDM cars
36:04 I love NACA ducts. A very clever design, that uses one of the two types of separation of laminar fluid dynamics. If a laminar flow (a flow, that is not turbulant along the face of the geometry) reaches the NACA duct, the diagonal edges allow a spiral separation of the air, that would be guided into the duct opening.
This allows a flat intake profile that is efficient and does not effect the overall drag coefficient of the car that much. A little bit of drag would be created but the benefits are immense. Though there is a limit on efficiency when it comes to size. At a certain size, the NACA duct would not work.
I think the NACA duct above the front wheel feeds the cockpit with fresh air. Maybe the white hose in the interior shots are connected to that intake.
I live how you can sit in these machines me beeing from Europe where museums are more like look don't touch is a new yet amazing concept of display thank you for a top notch review 😉 subaru fan head Czech republic
Why is there no credit to Richard Burns who won WRC for Subaru before his passing. Great video.
Yes i dont understand why his WRC winning car from 2001 is not there and also why the 2003 WRC winning Model from P. Solberg is missing in the Museum.
@@rogi_itsumi5370 I think Prodrive still has them as they do have McRay's Champ winning car to.
@@terryosborne272 They just need one car to show from the WRC winning years 01 and 03. Would make complete their showroom.
I'm Richard Burns fan ❤
Can’t wait for the new 2021 STI
Great video! I'm really, really, picky about what car UA-camrs I like to watch, most annoy me, but your videos are great, and mega interesting. You're showing me stuff that, even though I may have seen others make videos of it before, you're the first person to explain or show the thing properly, which makes it great.
I've been binge watching your channel today, amazing content! Hooked!
I thought I knew cars, but you're level of detail and historical documentary style on another level. Thank you for sharing!
In 1988 the president of FHI decided about the effort for motorsport and got two guys to form STI .... them two guys had a brief which was rallying and formula one , they went to Europe to form a plan and meet Dave Richards and the guy who built Ferrari’s formula one engines .
Also the 100,000 km record attempt , that engine from that car spec was the same spec the RA’s were built with as previously the Type R was standard mechanically although lightweight and electrics plus abs deleted.
The Legacy RS was a Homologation Special , same as a Cosworth or Delta Integrale and M3 etc , the very first rally championship won by FHI STI & Prodrive was the British Rally Championship in 1991 which Colin won ..... the rest as they say is History
STI gallery - this is my idea of heaven. Thanks bro for everything and the japanese are also friendly and hospitable people.

Amazing work. Your work deserves more attention just based off the amount of knowledge you have and provide.
Really awesome that people can sit in the competition cars. Truly does increase ones passion for the road cars!

Most Beautiful l subaru video

As a massive subaru fan these films are magnificent. I currently own Subaru wrx turbo in rally blue absolute stunning condition, so I find these films amazing, fabulous work
Will definitely visit the next time I'm in Tokyo. Thank you for the video
JDM Masters killing all other JDM content. Nice!
You guys sure about the sitting part? Can not imagine hundreds of people sitting in the cars. 44:23 / Great video, learned a lot today .❤
Slice of Cars yes. STI Gallery allows it. Just ask politely before hand. They want people to experience first hand the history of these cars.
Amazing Channel very rich information super coooollll
Wow Nice video. Very good, thank you zo much. Keep up the good work !
So happy to have found you while searching you tube👍sky is the limit and I hope your channel grows
H pattern manual gear box until 96-97. Those classic rally drivers were gods of driving. Today that feel is replicated in “hill climb” racing that’s mostly private teams and lower budged/grass roots than modern WRC. Awesome awesome awesome racing that’s not dominated by silly big company money.
The 22B featured in this gallery is one of 3 #000 numbered prototype models. I have personally heard one of them running at the 2016 Rocky Mountain Subaru Festival in Denver, CO.
This is excellent: the quality of production, the presentation, the information. And of course the subject matter! Subscribed. Thanks so much
I’m a huge Subaru fanboy and I can’t lie I love the legacy of WRC and STI ❤️
Really nice video! Was at mitaka sti museum in summer of 2018, didnt know you could sit in the cars!
Been there done that. And I was lucky to be all alone in the showroom for a few hours. Amazing place for every Subarista.
Such an iconic video for Subaru, awesome documentary/history coverage of the brand and its legacy.
Cpt, keep up the fantastic work!

Woo!!! another video! thanks so much for another high quality video :D
You're welcome, hope you like this one, too.
@@JDMMasters sure did i have only seen a few pictures of these cars but i have to say my favourite was the ft55 srt, really liked the video, thanks again!
The 22B is my favorite Gran Turismo 1 car; always beat the Supra, GT-R in the corners except on the straights. The 1997 Impreza WRC is my favorite in Colin McRae Rally. I watch all WRC seasons. Im so pleased to see these cars in detail in your channel. Keep up the good work. I thoroughly enjoy your channel.
Thank you for this video, I subbed awhile ago because of your Suby reviews cheers, love the channel.
The 97 WR Imprezza my fav all time car, Hawkeye 2nd fav STi in the generations, stink eye is still my lest fav, but the 97 WR the basis unicorn 98 22b, 400/420#s! what a car!!! even watching the footage though of the Legacy was so cool.
I was watching Possum Borne and Colin McRae at that rally in my younger days, later lead me to Legacy’s and Imprezza’s, still loved Colin McRae winning season, in 1995, FIA changes really hurt Subaru in 1996 and helped Mitsubishi, 4 titles for TM didn’t really tell the story of how good the STI WR cars were they had more wins and equal in wins outright with Lancia, TM was an amazing driver and the EVO was a great car dont get me wrong, but Mitsi half that overall in actual wins. FIA needs to pull its head out of its arse and create rules not just so a euro cars can compete, fear of losing to the a Japanese again is not what racing is about. It’s like everything heavily controlled by financial benefit not racing on a equal rule basis and best line up and let the cards fall where they may. Sick cars love to visit that STi base sometime, id be in heaven. I also love the older 90s livery colors and Samuri pink, maybe not a Subaru slogan but the pink flower of the Samurai was also a symbol to them which symbolised the life and death and rebirth of the Samurai like the flower itself, to me it’s very cool, ai don’t like how the a Japanese brands have changed to suit American markets or become more Euro, it’s fake to me, like people be true to your heritage be who you are not what people want you to be for them, that’s why you are iconic, unique a unicorn, don’t be the same as everyone else, that is what made Subaru, why other’s hate them but secretly it’s envy and even jealousy, be the best you can be of yourself Suby bring back a limited edition limited number Samurai STi with the original logo’s WRB gold BBS and factory body lines that were so beautiful in the 22b, like the flower, begin the re birth again into greatness. Make it so🦄
Subaru actual quit the WRC for too other reasons 1: the FIA again changed the rules which hurt both Suby and Mitsi re homologation rules which no longer fit with the Imprezza or Lancer Evolution platforms, and the cost to develop a totally new platform meant it was not viable for either company to meet those stupidity rules, Toyota has been away for many years, there platforms had long been discontinued and to push the Yaris/ Corolla they were able to develop this platform to meet these new rules, they even want a Mitsi and Suby back, they understand the importance of true competition.
it’s ironic the same FiA banned group B which btw had way more crazier aero and wings in the early to mid 80s you talked about on the Hawkeye, limits were not based on generation or time period it was limited by FIA ridiculous rule changes each year which also became notoriously costly for nah brand to compete in, you dont crack the egg that brings you the gold which continues with Euro governed bodies from road racing to dirtbikes.
2nd was at the same time we had the financial crash of 2008, that’s what spelled the end of WRC for the 2 iconic brands, imo it was what the FIA wanted.
Just look at the success of Subaru in American Rally, Australian rally and New Zealand Rally, they have dominated these countires without the FIA bs, have huge fan bases, I still see GC8s in NZ rally’s winning against current cars in various class’s without the FIA predacious rules, we need that or the sport would die, due to cost and again elitism rather than competition.
btw the FiA screw us as well here in NZ, we have some of the best roads for Rally for the sport, yet they have chased money, backhanders just like football, Olympics again who is running these organisations, Euro control, it’s not for the sport it’s about them. Given the choice for the drivers you’d see a very different and somewhat similar true World championship series including a US round from the 70s and 80s, not a Europeans / Middle east championship that pretends to be a World championship. I don’t watch WRC anymore haven’t since 2010, but I do follow US, Aussie and NZ rally rounds. Launch control on youtube by Suby is awesome btw.
Still great video and thank you, will always love the brand and the esspecially the history, like the Samurai everything has its time, was a privilege to be there during the prime of STi and even own and still do Subaru’s.
I remember watching a WRC race on TV, when Petter Solberg would complain about dirt/sand collecting on top of the intercooler, since it was angled like a front spoiler.
Really nice presentation, keep it up.
Awesome vid,nicely done!
This channel keeps gets better and better!
Thank you very much I really want to go this museum !
Another great tour with great commentary. Thanks for sharing to guys like me who will probably never have a chance to visit.

I am from Barbados, and we have a very huge Subaru STI following here, and we have a partnership between and japan in the sale of vehicles from your country, I have a 2010 WRX STI A-LINE and I just love my car and I LOVE SUABRU, love your knowledge and info you give on the history and make of the car.
