First time I had one was in the Blue Bayou Restaurant in Disneyland, CA. Was told to make a reservation as soon as we entered the park in the moring. This was in 1979 and was really quite enjoyable. My girlfriend and I watched the boats of the Pirates of the Caribbean go by with the star studded ceiling complete with fire flies. The Monte Cristo I had was absolutely delicious. I have been back many times over the years and it was always good.
Aww I love you paid tribute to the cast members. They really do make the magic and work so hard. That makes my heart happy as a former one to know I have made someones day more magical. I miss it dearly. One thing I hate us when people are mean to them. It just rubs me the wrong way
This looks so delicious! It was my favorite sandwich as a teenager at Bennagin’s and I haven’t seen it in years anywhere. You do a great job of explicitly giving directions that even I could follow.
I literally was going to comment this!! That sandwich blew my mind as a kid 🤤😋 I have never had a monte Christo even come close since then tbh! So I am so excited to try this myself ! Bennigans served it with a raspberry compote or jam? SO good!!
This looks delicious. I love how you put your spin on a disney recipes. Love creativity with cooking and baking. Ive never been to Disneyland but it is on the bucket list.
Cut your meat in half, stack the cut sides facing the crust of the Brioche. 🥰 THIS is literally Bennigans recipe, except for the Gruyere/Swiss....and I agree w you here...its a better choice. Former Bennigans emp.
The "pre-toast" of the meat slices before battering was a legit pro move. Well played, sir.

Yep, on the sandwich. Nope on Swiss cheese. It's sold by weight so the holes don't matter.
cooking skills 🤭
Ps.. . Try a Cranberry compote in place of Raspberry Jam.
Game changed. 💯
Rap the sandwich and squish it a little then put in fridge for 24-48 hours…
Why do y ou say 1 and 1/3 cups of milk when you clearly have a hair over 450 or slightly more which is pretty much 2 cups of milk.
What a creep.
