@@ndl0857 as someone who recently 100% the game I can say there were more highs than lows of the game overall. In regards to the story I believe it is meant to be in some way Ezio's fall. He made a lot of mistakes, took an innocent life, burned down a town to take down one target, and at the end when Ezio walks with Sophia you can see how much he has grown from the wayward youth in AC 2 as well as the mentor of AC brotherhood. You see him at the end of his journey reflecting on what he has learned over the years and he finally gets some closure on the mystery of Desmond first mentioned by Juno. The story is phenomenal as it is meant to be both a closure to Ezio's character and in someways, as I mentioned before, his fall. The parts I don't like is the tower defense crap and the dlc was in my opinion one of the worst dlcs I have ever played. I love subject 16, Clay Kasmerik, and I like how we get some lore about him but locking the conclusion to his dlc behind finding all the collectables makes it a pain. Even in that moment, ezio’s wisdom shows, he knows not how Desmond is viewing his memories, nor does he care, he is just glad to have his legacy and story pass on.
i want my last words to either be "Delete internet history!!!" While clutching a family members arm, or holding on a nurse and gasping "Their....bodies...are buried ....at...." before dying.
Altair was too old to take that advice when he thought of it, but Ezio ends up taking it. It's not the kind of wisdom he made this trip to seek, but it was definitely the reassurance he needed to hear. He's a tired man who has long done his part, he isn't obligated to keep going. Not after he had just found love again.
Joe Treyes It almost brings tears to my eyes. Not because of grief or anything. This is the most satisfying ending of any story I've heard. It makes playing every game thus far a lot more worth it. 3 of them, Ezio Altair and Desmond, together, almost interacting with each other, through time, couldn't have asked for anything better.
This is a reason ezio is the best he realized that when we were controlling him in the game he realized that him finding altair as desmond was sieng through ezio, ezio realized that what us the player and desmond were sieng through him soooo he realized that what he was sieng wasnt real.
He was telling him to not dedicate his entire life to the brotherhood. That was one of the biggest failings of the brotherhood Altair was brought up in, that there life was to the creed and nothing more.
Tanveer Sakib As others have said dedicating yourself solely to an ideal isn’t worth it, and makes the ideal you fight for contradictory. How can you fight for freedom and liberty while simultaneously living your life as a pawn?
@@andyknightwarden9746 Honestly, I thought that the series would end with the game after Revelations or even 3(If they didn't fuck it up). After all that Desmond learned from his ancestors, we spend the last game as him, fighting Templars in the present day.
@@thevijaykumar story wise same, but gameplay. Rogue was the last one that was worth playing to me. The new rpg mechanics should have never been introduced. Kinda comes off as a witcher 3 copy cat with the last three games
@AstroAce Yes indeed let's do just that. Connor was the last to join the party and his story was merely an addition to a story that was reaching its conclusion. Altair was the one who started this entire quest, Ezio was the one who followed in his footsteps, revived the brotherhood and reached the revelations. Connor was just, well, Connor. An Indian dude on a revenge quest who just so happened to hold a clue on how to unfuck the world. I mean, the game was good no doubt, but as far as the founding pillars of AC go, Connor isn't one of them.
Yes but Connor was still important to the story, he had contact with the Apple of Eden as well, all of that doesn't matter anymore now that Desmond is dead.
5:41 a wonderful detail as someone ese said. If you look at the puddle when Altaïr is hugging his son, you can see young Altaïr hugging Al Mualim in the reflection.
Altair knew everything by asking the apple: 1. He knew about people who came before and the upcoming danger. He felt it was his duty to learn and protect. 2. He knew the time of his own death. He dies shortly after sitting on the chair in the same position. 3. He knew Ezio, the conduit, will come. He made those memory discs for him. 4. He knew apple must stay hidden until it passes its secrets to Desmond. He knew Desmond. 5. He knew what he knew eludes the understanding of even next generations. 6. He learnt how to build a hand-canon to kill Abbas while hand-canons were introduced by Da Vinci in AC2 through codex pages made by Altair. In AC Brotherhood, at the beginning, the mechanic talks about a new design from France that shoots canon from hand. 7. He told Abbas that he looked into apple and learnt about the past and the future. 8. He made such a bold decision that even Ezio refrained from going further and he said: "I have seen enough for one life." All of this but why? because "In much wisdom, is much grief. And he that increaseth that knowlege, increaseth sorrow."
Altair is such an important character in the series, I feel like people don't give him enough credit because you know. "AC1 repetitive and clunky blah blah blah" Without Altair the events of AC2 all the way to the modern day would have never happened, and I don't understand why Ubisoft decided to make these prequels to AC1 since absoloutely nothing important happens before AC1 anyway. This new canon that ubisoft has created isn't real to me. - The Assassins came from Al Mualim and were based on the real life 'hashashins' - Kassandra doesn't exist. - Bayek and Aya didn't create the creed. - The Templars came from the crusaders. - The Animus could only review genetic memories meaning no bullshit animus like in Origns-Valhalla - Alfred didn't create the Templars - The Hidden One's don't exist. - The Order of Ancients don't exist. Fuck this new canon Ubisoft has created.
@@fredster594 well to be fair, in AC2, the vault that holds Altaïr’s armour has other status of Assassin members long before him, including Amunet(Aya), so sorry to say, but it has always been canon, but I’d imagine they had a more realistic approach to their stories back then rather than mythological battle galore, but we may never know for sure.......
@@faisalsukhtian1932Good points! But I always imagined back in 2009 that Al Mualim created the Creed from these "Assassin" members and used their abilities and tools to create the Assassins. Not that these were actual Assassins, that had a creed and has fought Templars before the events of the Crusades.

When the camera transitioned from altair dying to Ezio....One of the moments i will never forget . Absolutely fantastic game ,no other game has hit me in the feels more than the ezio trilogy Edit : 2 years later and I found this again, glad to see so many fellow Assassins shared in the fantastic experience I had in these games , Raqueiscat in Pace Ezio.
"All that is good in me, began with you, father." Still touches me. It's such an honour, and an amazing achievement to raise a child to a point where they honour you and are good, genuine people.
Tobias poulsen I think he was being symbolic or something like that, Altairs story and knowledge is known to Ezio and i can see how Ezio would learn from that.
I also like the ending of bonfire of the vanities where he gives his speech about having freedom but not seeing it, having love but not knowing it etc.
I didn't even know about this until now. I played AC 1, 2, and Botherhood but was pretty burnt out by the time this one came out and got bored playing 3 (not that it was a bad game. Just wasn't in the mood for it) and haven't played and AC game since. Is Black Flag the best PS4 era one to get back into the series with?
Although many will disagree, but this is the best AC game. Everything was perfect, the story, Ezio and Altaïr and the other characters, the missions and weapons(if only there were more assassination missions), the location, the time, the music, the beginning, the ending...A MASTERPIECE.
It's not my favorite, but it's definitely a masterpiece, and an excellent conclusion for Ezio's story. "I have seen enough for one life" is such a simple line, but it says everything, especially if you've played both of the previous games and lived that with him.
When Altair told Darim to be with his family, I finally understood what it meant. He told his son to go live his life for himself, not for the brotherhood. Altair couldn’t, his life was the Assassins. It was the only life he has ever known, like he said himself. And seeing Ezio, Desmond, and Altair in the same room even if they are centuries apart, made me feel sad at the fact that we just watched Altair reach his last moments, Ezio reach his final moments as an Assassin, and see Desmond finish the work that his Assassin ancestors believed of. This, is what a true story is, where everything is built up, year after year, to a moment that cannot be redone. This was.... *Assassin's Creed*
Totally agree. Five games and five years worth of build-up only to kill him off for some half-assed apocalypse that made no sense? Totally ruined the entire franchise for me.
MickMaan How does it not make sense? The world was going to end, but it could be stopped because of Desmond and it was. It does make sense, you just can't understand it.
It's funny, during the series time, everyone loved Ezio or newer Assassins and no one liked Altair but a few. Oh the arguments we got into about which was better.
I'm replaying the game and there's a funny scene where Ahmet says to Suleiman "that's not legal" when Suleiman uses a move he learned in europe, when they're playing a board game.
that was probably desmond's subconscious messing his memories up, his imagination of 'what if ezio has been aware of me the whole journey', thus modifying the animus's output
also altair is a name of many names of eagle...الطير، الصقر، العقاب..and so on, may not be accurate but it may also mean the eagle son one none (as in the relation between assassins and eagles -eagle vision-)
"And here, at last, I discover a strange truth. That I am only a conduit for a message that eludes my understanding." "Who are we, who have been so blessed to share our stories like this? To speak across centuries?" This is what AC should be.
It’s almost meta. Like the game or character speaking to the player. So much cool shit could be done with this series. I still remember when I almost shit my pants when it hit me Minerva wasn’t looking at Ezio, but me. Talking to me. Really it was Desmond through the animus but it still felt like me. This series could get freaky and innovative man, but instead tries too hard to be the Witcher 3. I like Odyssey but it’s wasted potential with a franchise I love.
I remember how I cried when I experienced this scene for the first time. No other game has ever made me cry, this is the only one. Goes to show how much....magic this game had back then. Oh how nice it would've been if that magic was still carried through now
I thought the god of war transition was impactful Hmmm maybe not as impactful as this since that’s Altair and ezio... I’m a huge fan of GoW though but it didn’t seem as impactful for me because Kratos’ trilogy was literally one game ago, but still dope to see Athena just pop up like that
And pretty much every single protagonist after Ezio. Like literally Ubisoft just makes a new character for every new game. I wish they brought back Altair for one more game.
@@Rollbrand370 yes.I really want a full Altaïr life story ac game.I really want to know what he discover, what knowledge he gain from apple of eden, what secret he found I really want ubisoft to make a ac games all about Altaïr
The scene where Altair and his son talk for the final time together the music itself is just so perfect for this scene. Always makes me shed a little tear especially when Altair's son says to him, " All that is good in me, came from you Father." Makes me even more grateful for my father in my life.
The first time I played this, it made me see my father diferently, more like a normal human being, with his weaknesses and strenghts, and how hard he fought to give to me and my siblings the things that a child needs and deserves. It made me not look to him like a perfect hero anymore, but like a regular person, a loving father who kept fighting for us, despite his failures, weaknesses and losses. That ending is something else. Even though it is contained in a game, it somehow is above itself. It is the materialized concept of art.

Apparently the apple was what kept him alive for longer & gave him strength The moment he locked it away all that strength left his body and his old age finally caught up to him Altair died moments after sitting in the chair because death was finally able to get a hold of him
@@70mato70, its actually due to him no longer possessing the apple, which had been mitigating the ravages of time on his body. If I remember, moments after parting ways with the apple and time started catching up with him he went blind.
Once altair was the mentor of whole brotherhood...Now he can't even grab a chair properly to sit.perhaps this is the most aweful sight..When he kept the apple in the seal he realised that h has grown old and cant stay alive anymore. The apple was providing him strength..And then the revolving around the chair it shows how time passed by and the second mentor ezio has come..damn good !!!!
Dude, a young person in his mid 20s or early 30s would struggle to find a chair and sit on it in a room that is so dark. What's left to say about a man way over the age of 90 ?
Another reason I love Ezio is because with him you can see he was actually a student of the creed. He studied it, understood it, and even accepted its flaws. The way he explained what the creed meant is just proof of that. He was the greatest Assassin we were blessed with from this series.
@*_*MoJean*_* It never said she was an assassin in the first place. Especially since Odyssey takes place years before the Assassins were created in Origins.
Altair, he was born into the creed, lived for the creed, fought for the creed, and died for the creed. His last words for his son were "go be with your family and live well"
The cinematography of this scene is truly outstanding, and the scene as a whole. Scenes like this, Edward’s hallucination and Bayek’s son killing Flavius is what reminds me how much I love Assassin’s Creed.
@Starscream_xxx he ment hold up as in not falling apart as it should because there is literally nothing holding the bones in place so technically it should all fall down into the chair

Watching this in 2024. Tears running down my face with all the memories pouring in of playing all the old AC games. Not knowing time would pass us by this fast. What an amazing franchise it was. The connection of past and present with the Desmond timeline MADE the game. After Desmond was killed off, after Black Flag, to me personally it has been on a steep decline. I’ll still call it one of my all time favorites franchises. Thank you for the video and the memories 🤝🏼💙
This scene was amazing. Altair, Aesop, and Desmond, all in the same room, even if Altair is a skeleton and Desmond isn't physically present. 5 years and only now I realized auto correct somehow corrected Ezio to Aesop. Far be it for me to correct it now.
"it is a good life we lead, brother. The best May it never change And May it never change us" To "I have seen enough for one life" -Ezio Auditore A Great Journey..
Altair's death brings tears to my eyes. Not everyone understands how important he is in AC series. People just like Ezio and say he is the best... But they're missing the big picture. And the big picture is Altair. AC1 was the only game where you could feel like a true Assassin. He is the mentor of "his mentor" and all assassins in the series. Altair is and always will be the real, best, greatest Assassin of all time!
zomkiller200o the only thing that makes me grind my gears is that he dies at age 65 of a heart attack.... The dude had the physic to climb huge ass buildings without rest and he dies of a heart attack.... You could say people back then didn't live very long but Altiar lived to like 90+ years..
This is why Desmond was so special. Both bloodlines meeting for the very first time relating to a piece of Eden. The chances of this moment was 1 on a billion. That’s why
Definitely was. It's truly the heaviest scene because Altaïr took core part in establishing the Order in the beginning and was considered the greatest assassin whereas Ezio's journey ended right when he met his predecessor or rather a mentor, with his iconic signature words "Requiescat in pace" which he used throughout his entire life. Two of the most remarkable assassins ever.

"Ezio, remember. Evil is evil. Lesser, greater, middling; it's all the same. These templars, as honorable their intentions are, still desire the greatest perversion of all: absolute control. Sure, the prospect may seem fascinating. A world governed by peace and order where humanity itself is united under one banner? Marvelous. But at what cost? Our minds? Our dignities? Our freedom? No, my son. Freedom is the greatest blessing upon us all, one that is worth protecting and dying for. That is why we exist. That is why our Brotherhood must thrive. That is why we work in the dark in order to serve the light; to give humanity the chance to forge its own tomorrow and to protect it from the monsters that threaten its existence." -- Giovanni Auditore, of Monsters and Assassins, Chapter IV, Page 96
After 30 long years Etzio never got many of the answers he was looking for. But in the end he understood and accepted that he was never supposed to understand but merely be a messenger. Can we just take a moment to realise how zen that is
8:12 I think this is a very interesting scene. When he passed on his mission to his son and said goodbye, He still having a strong and lively appearance despite his advanced age. But after he's done his job, His legs are shaking and he sits in a chair with no strength... As if he had made up his mind that he could prepare to die now that his mission was over....very impressive

Requiescat in pace, Altair!!!
The most greatest, legendary and splendid moment in the franchise.
Altaïr’s last words were:
“Go, son. Go be with your family. And live well.”
A joy Altair hardly experienced. His entire life was basically the Creed
He probably did get that privilege. Abbas and his men were responsible for the death of his son and wife

@@AzguardMike al this talk about life and death war and peace but all you think about is sex i guess templars won at the end
Man this scene gave me chills specially when he called out for Desmond

Such a powerful moment in the AC series
Joe Treyes It almost brings tears to my eyes. Not because of grief or anything. This is the most satisfying ending of any story I've heard. It makes playing every game thus far a lot more worth it. 3 of them, Ezio Altair and Desmond, together, almost interacting with each other, through time, couldn't have asked for anything better.
dats true man...
try not to cry... but...

Tanveer Sakib
As others have said dedicating yourself solely to an ideal isn’t worth it, and makes the ideal you fight for contradictory. How can you fight for freedom and liberty while simultaneously living your life as a pawn?
Go son, go be with AC 3, Black Flag, and the other....and play well

@@thevijaykumar story wise same, but gameplay. Rogue was the last one that was worth playing to me. The new rpg mechanics should have never been introduced. Kinda comes off as a witcher 3 copy cat with the last three games
This scene had the 3 founding pillars of the Game, Altaír, Ezio & Desmond in one *single* frame
**yes lets just forget connor**
Connor who?
Connor, the guy who's better than Ezio

Altair knew everything by asking the apple:
8. He made such a bold decision that even Ezio refrained from going further and he said: "I have seen enough for one life."
All of this but why? because "In much wisdom, is much grief. And he that increaseth that knowlege, increaseth sorrow."

Exactly
It's not my favorite, but it's definitely a masterpiece, and an excellent conclusion for Ezio's story.
"I have seen enough for one life" is such a simple line, but it says everything, especially if you've played both of the previous games and lived that with him.
Revelations is my favourite AC game.
The music is the only one somewhat lacking as it wasn't completely done by Kyd like it's predecessors.

Hierkönnteeinnamestehen idk it would've been better if he'd die like Altiar of old age not die at 65 or being murdered..
Powerful moment in gaming that cannot be replicated in a movie. Especially if you played the lives of both of these assassins.
That old Altair scene looking for the chair.. bruh I cried, the glorious warrior, the most skilled assassin.. :c
"But time...waits on noone"- forgot the source...ancient asian saying
but altair can't swim
Pulung Andre Widiatmoko we don’t talk about that
@@dimasandre1209 omdss so many ppl say dat iss gettin annoying Unisoft already said the animus couldn't program swimming at that time
In his time but no arno and jacob are way more skilled dangerous and versatile
Good Quote
"All that is good in me began with you father"
4:24
"No books... no wisdom...
Just you, fratello mio"
I love this scene... so much.
Edit: holy shit! I've never gotten this many likes before!
"fratello mio" what language is that?
rafi suvo Italian
rafi suvo it means my brother in italian
rafi suvo Italian. It means "brother of mine".
Christian Cristof it's the same thing, smarty pants
This is why Desmond was so special. Both bloodlines meeting for the very first time relating to a piece of Eden. The chances of this moment was 1 on a billion. That’s why
Requiescat in pace Altair... That line give me chills everytime. This is probably the most epic scene in the saga.
Ezio respects Altair
there's the scene of Ezio blowing up the entire ship blockade
"Rest in peace altair"
proceeds to steal his bling
Onbekendje Confirmed and shoes
Altair: Put my shit back, nigga. Fuck you think you is?"
Ezio: How you even- never mind.
He left it there to pass it on -.-
Succ Mcgee well teoreticaly ezio is altair great-great-great-great-greatnephew
Ya Dingus *Hidden blades come out mid bling steal* "Shit! Oh fuck! I am so sorry man! It's a habit I see body my mind just says stab stab stab and bam there's a corpse! But you...were already a corpse so...uh...Bye!"
All that was good in Assassin's Creed, began with Altair and ended with Ezio
FYN Fynia Agreed but Edward Kenway was good
FYN Fynia it ended with Edward
Connor was my favorite by far
FYN Fynia Assasinscreed 3 was a lot of fun.
GrahfMetal His grandfather was the best in new gen...He was such a badass
Happy 10 year anniversary, Revelations. Even though I consider Brotherhood to be the definitive Assassin’s Creed experience, Revelations will always be my personal favorite. What an incredible story
That is why we work in the dark in order to serve the light; to give humanity the chance to forge its own tomorrow and to protect it from the monsters that threaten its existence."

of Monsters and Assassins, Chapter IV, Page 96
Wait... what ?
Okay so the first part sounds like its ripped off from the witcher. But where the fuck was this?
@Suni Victor Or its just ripped off from the witcher books lol.
"Evil is evil. Lesser, greater or middling it's all the same."
This part is from the Witcher
Now I don't know if I still prefer the "liberty"... have you taken a look to how are thinga nowadays?
back then when they tried to make a Story , behind the Animus. Poor Desmond you deserved better.
@Speed Gaming what were they best on?
Drinker_Of_Milk Ehhhhh that's debatable Oddyssey is more of grind the whole time filled with fetch quest missions
@@Lipidwave the grind is a selling point, it keeps people invested collecting gears and progressing
Drinker_Of_Milk i completely agree, missions are actually thought out and each one has their own story.
@@eternalmetro their own bad written shitty story
"Sit a moment and rest..." I cry everytime..
Me 2
This is hands down one of my favorite video game moments ever. Just brought so much together and was such a feel good moment.
After 30 long years Etzio never got many of the answers he was looking for. But in the end he understood and accepted that he was never supposed to understand but merely be a messenger.
Can we just take a moment to realise how zen that is
This is one of the most touching moments in gaming for me.. I just love it..
Roileen The Virtuoso do u know whats touching too? 7:44
To the guys who wrote that...Please make a movie
"animusis animii" i enjoyed most of the dialog in these games
they made a movie but it’s shit
Wasn't even a bad movie, they followed the original games pretty well just with a different twist.
Gage Taylor and a little rush to fit in a movie length
They made two mistakes. It was as fuck and pg-13
"Sit a moment and rest..."

From that point on he would do nothing but relax the rest of his life

Aren't you dead?
That is a very creative way to say fake account, real life ac pranks
You would say that
People don’t know how legendary this moment is.
Which is why there are over 5 million views and so many people are calling it the best moment in the series.
that is unforgettable for us , the lovers of that
I do, it felt to me as the universe was about to explode when these 2 legends met.
When Altair's *skeleton* has more presence and character than Connor, Arno, Kassandra and Eivor put together.
Slightly harsh on Connor but I agree with the others.
Needless Connor slander
