Diogo Pinto It is possible that the Apple of Eden he had with him prolonged his life. This would explain why he grew weaker and died relatively quickly when he hid it in the tomb and sat down in that chair.
Playerbam Also notice thanks to the Apple he had access to knowledge far beyond his time. Altair fires a self-made arm-wrist pistol at one point in Relevations. Then of course he would also know more about the human body and medicine than anyone else living in his time.
MinecraftPro15 Well, Altair lived I suppose in bad conditions: His mother died on born, his father in a battle, his friend committed suicide when Altair had 9 years old, he lived among other assassins, he was exiled by them, his wife was stabbed in the back, but he still lived for a long period of time. "I have done my part" that means he lived till he did what he was meant to do. He died after he hid the Apple, fulfill the Prophesy.
Honestly, the most underrated and most powerful moment in the entirety of the AC franchise. Ezio realizes what the whole purpose of his life was, his suffering, his sacrifices, the years of endless struggle. He wasn’t meant to answer his own questions, but rather provide the answers for someone else. Someone, who is not of his reality, yet who has been with him and watching him ever since from his birth. He realizes that his whole purpose was to guide this “Desmond” throughout his life. It’s also absolutely beautiful how Ezio accepts such a realization and the reality. He now understands that he has done his part, and now he can simply retire from his fight and finally, after all these years, spend the rest of his life at peace with his new love by his side.
maybe, but i actually felt the altair missions in this game were more of a character arc. ezio was seeking answers till the end and then just sorta gave up after having a deus ex machina (not the game but the figure of speech) moment the writers inserted into his brain where he suddenly comes up with the name desmond even tho he had never heard it before. altair on the other hand spends decades with the apple, learns of the first race, realized the artifacts power, and seals himself away in the library. after having taken care of abbas for what he did to his wife and the order.
@@ImperialDiecast did you even watch the video or play the games? Ezio HAS heard Desmonds name before, hence that entire scene for the rest of the ending 🤨
@@Woodsman9273 true, i played ac 2 about 10 years ago and then acb about 5 years ago and acr only a few months ago so I had forgot some dialogue references amidst the 120 hours of gameplay these three games offer :D
5Sush0 I say still is because TBH I haven't played a game properly since Black FLag in 2013 (Discounting Dragonball Xenoverse because that focuses more on an MMO element)
I played this game once before, a long time ago, and now this ending lingers in my mind like an image from an old dream, who are we, who have been so blessed to play a story like this?
Darby? I have played this games as best i could, not knowing its purpose, but drawn forward like a moth to a distant moon. And here i last i discover a strange truth: that this scene will never be topped
Maybe the new players will answer all the questions we have asked. Maybe they will be the ones to make all this suffering worth something in the end. Now listen... Juno wanted Desmond dead so that there will be no one to stop her once she returns. It is now your duty to find her and stop her. Godspeed assassin.
@@H.K.5 They have the same face in AC2 and ACB because the animus puts Desmond's face on Ezio. In Revelations we see Ezio's real face. Desmond's had to be changed for legal reasons.
Broke my heart how Altair, one of the greatest Assassin's of all time and the one who started the Assassin's on the right path to save the world died alone, in the cold and darkness with no around him. Hit me so hard and made me choke up for a couple of minutes and im NOT an emotional person at all.
2Good2BeTrue45 when he finally defeated the Templars and destroyed their plans he should've came back home as a hero and should be respected by the others but all he got was disgrace and humility and was then abandoned by his brothers and was exiled from the place until he came back and made the assassins order
Best ending to an assassins creed game. And I hate ubisoft for what they did with unity.they just completely forgot about all the ancient civilisation stuffs as if they didnt even existed.
Dude they have to bring Desmond back or else they know they're dead. besides they're planning on making 20-30 years more of ac if they keep this up no one will play ac (willingly) or it will drop in a substantial amount. Their profits will undoubtedly be way smaller.
+SarcasticReaper HD nope they officially announced that they'll make 10-20 more years of ac games which will solely be involved with the first civ. To me first civilization = modern day = Desmond
Such a great ending. The old Masyaf music, the lighting and quenching of the torches,Ezio respecting Altair, saying our goodbyes to them for the last time,Ezio speaking to Desmond...This is my favourite game of the series,no contest.
Ezio is the best character Ubisoft has created. Now they are just churning out characters left and right for each new assassins creed game, it's hard for me to care for anyone of them.
ironmantis25 Connor and Edward, I could sort of care for them. But nowhere near as much as Ezio or Altair. I can't even remember Unity's or Rogue's main characters.
Nah, Edwards my personal favourite. He was a gritty, badass pirate who only cared for money and power, which is why I love him. None of that pansy assassin shit.
***** Which is kinda why he's my favourite... I've grown tired of the same assassins creed game every year, so Black Flag for me was something different.
ironmantis25 i consider Ezio having some mental disability, he pissed me off so many times. But not to blame him, rather the creators, so much bullshiting in plot and not to mention why no assasinations trought the windows in brotherhood ? It would add some change but no, rather make everything overcomplicated and look alike, that never get's bored -.-
The game itself wasn't something special; it was okay... But they story... I have never felt so empty after a game before. Ezio as a character is so complete and complex, and to end it was so... Emotional. Requiescat in Pace, Ezio Auditore da Firenze.
Good times.... miss these moments. Since the day Ezio was born till the day he gave his last breath, we've been there. All Great things will come to an end. It is all memories now. Memories that we will never forget.
When Ezio started to take off his hidden blade and threw his sword down, the tears just starting gushing out. A lifetime of servitude to the assassin order, and he finally found peace and closure. Ezio Audtiore da Firenze, a legendary master assassin.
+The Banterlope I was honestly satisfied with every ending up till this one. I also really liked the modern day ending in Syndicate. It finally added story to the modern day.
leolionhunt Well man, if you want to be that fussed up about it, then sure. It showed that Abstergo was cloning Those Who Came Before, potentially to develop a host for Juno to enter and inhabit. This means Juno is finally moving on with her plan. She's going to inhabit a body, and is going to make the Templars her army, for after all her plan for the world aligns with the ideology of the Templars. The ending also showed a conflict between the Assassins and the Templars, re-introduced Gina, and brought back some of the big-name Templars too. It isn't great but it is far better than Unity. I just hope that next year, they'll actually add some good shit in the Assassin's Creed modern day story. And not just nothing.
Well the ending of origins was quite promising and good. They've to end the franchise. Take a five year break and pull of a witcher 3. Assassin's Creed in the future. No animus.
Altair's gone... He's really gone... The best man and assassin of the series, followed closely by Ezio. I know they never existed, but that doesn't make their lives any less meaningful to me. I cried when I saw Altair's body and Ezio said for him to rest in peace and I knew that Ezio was also dead by this time in the story but it didn't make it hurt less. A fitting end to the best characters I've ever seen. I will never forget them.
This is my favorite game in the series, and this ending is a big part of the reason why. Having this game come out before 12/21/12 was brilliant because even though I knew this was fiction, a part of me couldn't help but fear that there might be some truth to it. It was so shocking, so jaw-dropping, so TERRIFYING to think about that it left a huge impact even after I finished the game.
I know right! This game isn't my top 10 but i were for a very long time, and i know how you felt with 12/21/12 moment! It was somehow scary... the thought was scary...
ErikTheWizzard 66 yup, but it was only a hoax to the common people. The scientists/ppl that knew their shit knew 2012 was not going to change anything (the horror of the 2012 fiasco revolved around the shifting of poles on our earth...which physicists knew wasn't going to happen lol). it was just another rumor, just like the year 2000 millennium (or maybe even experiment?) on the common folk to see how we react to such a scenario...let's just hope there aren't anymore 'global catastrophes or faktastrophes' in the future...
***** Hmm well our world is constantly changing but weather its moving forward or not remains to be seen i imagine something will happen to our planet or maybe to us only but i doubt it will happen in our lifetime.
I really feel sorry for Altair, I mean he was manipulated by 'those who came before' to play his role in delivering the message to desmond. As a result he lost his wife and by the sounds of it became enthralled by the apple so much that he loses touch with the reality around, forgetting his wife leaving and who knows how much else.
I wish I could forget that everything from AC3 onward ever existed. This ending, and the promise that it held.... everything afterwards was such an incredible disappointment. It truly felt like the series was going to go in a different direction than it ultimately has.
You're right dude. Most of the gameplay dynamic, the interface, the "promise" that the game held... it all points to "we got some of the cool stuff in, but then the budget ran out". Kind of like unity and syndicate-- with the absurd micropurchases to get forward faster. What a crock of shit.
One of the best ACs ever created. Newer games NEED to have these stories in them for god's sake. Such a masterpiece. The story was the most touching and emotional, the gameplay was also good with some useful modificationss and the city was so BEAUTIFUL. Not to mention, the missions design and the side quests were fun as hell.
Unfortunately thanks to GTA online and how's it being milked for so many years most game developers aren't focused on story given games, all about online and fucking battle royal shit, I'm going to buy the ezio collection for old times sake, get sad comparing this to modern ac games
In my opinion, games these days need somthing like this. They put more effort and more content in the multiplayer but lack so pitifully in the story itself. THIS right here has such an amazing story behind it. The music, the dialog, the journey itself through Assassins Creed 1 up to revelation. Unity. Flag, ect ect just never had the same draw as this. and neither do games they spew up anymore.
Actually i liked black flag. But yeah, ezio was fkin legendary. Black Flag was also quite good but it wasnt exactly an assassins creed game, more like pirate ship simulator
Altair died alone in his library without anyone even knowing of his death .. the only "R.I.P." he got is from a man he never knew , a man who didn't even live in his era.
@SlayerSaber He wasn't, Ezio's great-great grandfather has diary entries at the bottom of Villa Auditore in the same era where Altair died, of his run in with Niccolo Polo. As a native Italian, it's unlikely Altair's family got there and reproduced before 1257. It's been confirmed that Desmond's relation to them is maternal for Altair, and paternal for Ezio.
Assassin's Creed 1 ending was mysterious and exciting Assassin's Creed 2 ending was fantastic and keeps you excited. Brotherhood and Revelations were awesome and had great endings. Then AC 3 happened.
Logical Actually in a very small way I understand. Like believe it or not I actually learned a couple history lessons from AC1-ACR. I did learn a bit in AC3 but it wasn't as "Wow the research in this is insane." Never the less, AC3 was an awesome game with an awesome story.
One thing I love about the Ezio series is that we get to follow Ezio from when he is born until his old ages it is the best assassins creed games of all time
This had SO much promise! Such an amazing ending to a game, and Ezio embracing who he was, and passing on his findings and responsibility to Desmond, not knowing who this man even was, but blindly following the Creed's cause anyway. This, alongside some amazing material to look forward to regarding the end of the world in 2012 in AC3... All wasted!
To the guy saying his robes were white.... you try keeping your robes clean 300 years after you die... they would whither and look pretty nasty. so his robes are definitely the correct color
I would argue best ending I've ever seen for anything. I would be satisfied with ezio refusing to take the apple. But then they link it with desmond, explain what happened to the precursor race, space montage, show how their cities actually looked, WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED. OMG... It just just a pile on of awesome. God this is the best ending ever
Ezio: Desmond? I heard your name once before Desmond, a long time ago. And now It lingers in my mind like an image from an old dream. I do not know where you are, or by what means you can hear me. But I know you are listening. (he leaves his weapons) I have lived my life as best I could, not knowing its purpose, but drawn forward like a moth to a distant moon. And here, at last, I discover a strange truth. That I am only a conduit for a message that eludes my understanding. Who are we, who have been so blessed to share our stories like this? To speak across centuries? Maybe you will answer all the questions I have asked. Maybe you will be the one to make all this suffering worth something in the end. Now... listen... FBH&*(&*FG@&*G@F&* EVERY GOD DAMNED TIME
What really makes me tear up every time is when Altair goes "Go son. Be with your family. And live well" and his son responds, "All that is good in me, began with you, father."
asassins creed 1 all thr way to revelations was the best series I've ever played everything after that .... sucks the way this game series was developed all the way till this game was so beautiful and creative it makes me cry. I wish assassin's creed was as good as it used to be.
I think this is genuinely one of the best game endings I have ever come across. It is just better, overall because of its difference. The game itself is excellent with some very deep dialogues and phrases. Well done Ubisoft. This is one of your best games yet!
That moment when he ecountered Altair was a full burst of emotion stringing from the very first time I held my controller, playing AC 2, not knowing that I would be embarking to a story that I will forever remember. Seeing how he was a naive teenager to this wise old man yearning for the truth, it felt like I've been with him all throughout his life. To witness the beginning and end of the great Ezio is one of the best experiences I've had in gaming. All those hours spent finding and knowing the truth is all worth it.
Played unity. Thought I would get an epic ending like this, but no. Even though revelations wasn't my favorite assassins creed game, It still had my favorite ending.
BrightSpectrum I think the point of Unity black flags etc is not to be as EPIC as the previous games as we are taking a slight break from all that and going back to the roots of the Assassins as a completely different person. Its meant to be a DEHYPE for the purpose of resurrecting the story we were left with from Revelations / Assassins Creed 3. Trust me man, we have to be patient and wait and appreciate the newer game until we come back to this!
I remember the first time I saw this, when I played through the game. "I do not know where you are, or by what means you can hear me. But I know you are listening" it just got so real. Ezio knew all along, he figured it out. It just hit me like a brick.
I love this game and this ending so much. From the music of AC 1 at the beginning, to Altair's death, to the jaw dropping shit storm of a revelation at the end. This is one of the best endings in gaming history. I will never understand how anyone could dislike this game. Revelations is by far my favorite of the series, and AC 2 is so good, but that's how powerful this ending is.
I dislike it because it's far too short. It is the very end of Ezio's life as an Assassin, and he certainly ended it with a bang, but it felt too soon. y'know?
It is a great ending. It puts a cap on Altair and Ezio's lives very well. I wish it focused a little more on them than on the First Civilization, but I can't have everything. This was not my favorite game in the series. I'm not sure why. Maybe because I played them all in a row and Lucy's death was still a sour taste in my mouth. Some of the full-sync objectives were incredibly difficult. I'm not sure. Someday I'll pick it back up and play it again, but, sadly, this was probably my least favorite in the series so far (I'm halfway through 3 and haven't played 4 yet).
JayIceColdD I played them all in row (besides 4 which I just finished) last year around when 3 came out, and I think that's why I love Revelations so much. Having Altair's badassery fresh in my mind made me really excited going into Rev. Another factor could be the fact that some cunt ruined the ending of Brotherhood for me. So maybe that's why Lucy's death didn't bother or shock me as much. I still thought Brotherhoods ending was great though, honestly that was my favorite part of the whole game And I agree about the 100% Sync. The tower defense crap is terrible.
My save file was named cipher because my username across most platforms is cipherscriptures and hearing Jupiter ask “do you hear me cipher?” Scared the fucking shit out of me
I bet we will hear something. Unity isn't far from 3's time. If I am correct, Connor became the master assassin of America at the time. With famous masters (like Ezio and Altair) you usually hear something about them in game. Like in 3 when Achilles talked about old Ezio.
Blaine Gamble Arno's dad died when Connor was to meet his father. Shay killed his father. Shay met Connor's father. What the hell, Altair's dad died due to false accusation, Ezio's dad died of false accusation too, being hanged. Connor killed his own dad. Assassin's Creed: Daddy Issues
Ezio's message for Desmond sums up the life and ideology of Ezio and by extension the assassins. Assassins did some great things. They changed the course of mankind. And yet no one's going to remember them. Ezio did great things and helped in raising and bringing down empires in his life. He saved mankind so many times. But in the end he was just a messenger. No one would except a handful of people would know what he truly did for humanity and how he changed the course of history. Even after all he did, in the grand scheme of things he would be lost in the pages of history. That's the life and legacy of assassins, all the hardship and suffering and no rewards.
I have watched this so many times even now, where it looks like the world is coming to an end. It may be, that i am only a 14year old kid, but i have been playing Assassins Creed since my early childhood, to be honest i never understood the Story, or the purpose of these games. But every year i understood more of it, and more of the life. It may be, that its not normal for people in my age, but i've played every single game. it may be confusing to others. But i've never spoken any bad tone to Assassins Creed, never. It just ... gave me the chance, to be good in something. To have something to do, at these days of Boring life. Life, that i don't even have. Since the 23rd August 2017 am i walking to huge sea, like 10 kilometers away from my "home". Everyday, and even now, i keep doing it. It all began 3 Years ago, as i was at the sea, with friends, that are now invincible for me, away. There were 2 Girls coming to us, the one said to me, her friend Annika wants to talk with me, alone. I said aight, why not. And then we walked along the sea, like... 4 hours. She told me, that she sees me always in school, and whenever she does, her love to me grows stronger and stronger. And even if she's not the beautiest girl, she said, it would be great for her, if we would meet again. And i said sure, whenever you have time. Then next night, we've been walking a long time. Like... 4 or 5 hours. She just... never wanted to leave me, and asked her, why she isn't sleeping at this time. And then she...she told me about her father, which is like drunk the whole day, her mother, which left the family, and she said that she dont have anybody to talk. And i just... understood. My Parents aren't like... parents, they just bad people, when i was 9, my father told me, that i never was planed, to be born. And from that moment on, i hated him everyday, and he's hating me everyday. All that seems to be fun, to be interesting... wasnt allowed for me, like it was for Annika everyday. So we met every night, didn't cared about the winter, rain or something like that. And we kept doing that, for more than 2 and a half years. Nobody was knowing about it, and nobody should have known it, besides us. We both knew, we were in trouble if it came out, but even then, when we were little kids, we've seen too many terrible things, that nothing was able to get between us. After like 9 Months she started to come with me, back home. It was risky, but it is a risk to live. She climbed through my window, and started crying. Then she told me, she was like slapped in her face by her father. So she slept in my Bed, stayed in my room for many months. I always needed to get her something to eat, to drink. We kept doing that for another 8 months. Just her father was in our way, no one else. And then, after like 27 month of, love, tears and of course some fun moments, i walked to the sea, like always. But she wasnt so happy to see me, like before. Then she told me, her father has known of us for the complete time. And now, they both have to move away. She doesn't knew where to, and she said theres no way out. Her phone, her contancts and our only to speak across high distance, destroyed. I said, she could come with me, hide and wait until everyone has stopped searching. But she just sat there, at a bank... and cryied. Then she said one sentence to me. "I have lived my life, as best i could, not knowing its purpose. But drawn forward like a moth, to a distant moon. And here at last, i discovered a strange truth. That i am only a conduit to a message, that eludes my understanding. Theres often a way, to give up. But dont do it. Keep living, and never stop walking. " I've seen her the last time, in my arms. Crying and unable to speak. And thats why i am watching, playing and crying to this so many times. Every good thing, everything we love, seems to be taken away everytime. Taken by cursed parents, that aren't understanding , that we children also have a life. My only dream was, to find peace in this world, ruled by chaos. By all i found, in this 14Years of Life, is tragedy, anger and "parents" that dont even want to be my parents. Assassins Creed was the Only way to avoid my anger, and the only way to have the fun, that every child in this world deserves! I havent lived as long as Altaïr Ibn-La 'Ahad, and i never had the courage of Ezio Auditore da Firenze. But i've managed to see a lot more things, than many adults. Everywere you look, is chaos. But the Assassins always were the light, that i needed to walk through this dark life. Even now, it may be confusing to you, but it seems, that i am a conduit to. I have lost much of my best friends, just because they didnt understand. They never managed to believe me the story, that you have read a few moments ago. I have one final thing to say, one final message to send. Live your life, as best you can, let no one be in your way, and if is, show him, that youre not the one, that everyone thinks you are. I have taken a few sentences out of the AC-Film. Aguilar said, they think about the Assassins. They calling them murderers, beglars and bloodthursty Rebells. But the Assassins never tried to fix that, they used it for hiding their real culture. Nothing is true, everything is permitted. Decisions aren't always easy, but you have to understand, that you have to live with them. Wether glorius, or tragic. Thats my message. The True message of the Creed, the Brotherhood. Our Brotherhood. You can Accept your Fate, or fight it. Remember my words. Youre the Architect of your Actions, fratello mio
I'm 40 years old. I have played and still played a lot. From Atari Frogger, Super Mario World 3, Sonic & Knuckles; to Tenchu, Metal Gear Solid V, TLOU2, Ghost of Tsushima, 11 Assassin's Creed in total, and so on. And I can tell you: this is the best ending of any videogame at any time by now.
+Kolby Wright I agree. AC had some of the best stories ever with such creativity and research... then it went onto pirates and random English people that have nothing to do with anything.
At this point, the game was at its best for me story and gameplay-wise. The ending gave a promise of something greater to come. Sure AC 3 wasn't bad but for me, it felt like it was missing something. Maybe I'm being too nostalgic but at this point, this was where the magic of the series ended for me. I enjoyed AC 3 but it felt like it lacked something. AC 4 was a blast but it was clear that it was more a pirate game than an AC game. Now with the new trilogy AC Origins and Oddysey. They're both good games but at their cores they aren't AC games anymore.
Ac 3 should have ended with ezio. But after revelations ezio was already the used golden cow. Why end a trilogy with a random new character instead of one fans have been invested with. Ac 3 was a failure and what followed a disgrace
That was a beautiful ending. I'm sad to see just how helpless the first Civilization was when the solar flare hit. Another thing that I've truly come to grips with is Desmond woke up from a coma just to sacrifice himself
So sad to see how Altair died.....So sad to see Ezio retire......So sad to know that no other Assassin's creed game will ever even be close to this......
I think the whole Ezio series is hands down the best, of all the AC games. However, the soundtrack for 'Revelations' takes the cake. It wasn't the best of the three Ezio games, but its soundtrack was.
Awesome. To this day, they still revere Altair as a true master assassin of the creed. This is why he's my favorite assassin because throughout all the hardships he's been through, Altair still managed to keep the creed in his heart. He was arrogant then became humbled and realized that knowledge and sorrow feeds off each other interchangeable. That was his mission. He represented the gridiron warrior.
Years later and watching this still gives me the same emotions of the first time I played this... 4 in the morning crying in 8th grade lol. So beautiful
Every time I see, i can't control my tears. I hope if I could be one of them. If I could do something for my country. But alas! I'm afraid I can't because of my these kind of emotions. Rest in peace Altair and a true love from me.
This is a character right here. Forget freaking Edward. I could barely STAND playing as him for however many hours. A LONG TIME. All he wanted was gold and I couldn't take it. Ezio is pursuing the noble goal of his order and he almost always had. sigh I just want to play a true Assassin again Ubisoft. Is that too much to ask for?
BurreBurrsson True but it was also justice. He may have been after vengance but it ended up being justice, whereas Edward, "I was only in it for a bit of coin lad." As he cuts down everything in his path.
SquishyBananaBread Agreed. If this would have been the ending of the entire series, it would have been a worthy ending. Ezio was and is The Assassin, and not even Altaïr can surpass him. With Ezio you began at the beginning and ended at the end and followed him along the way. You saw him turn from a spoiled child into an assassin fighting for what is right, to the Mentor of the entire Brotherhood, to the old Assassin who finally wants to live life on his own terms. He is the only assassin that i care about.
SquishyBananaBread after this Black Flag AC3 and Rogue was still good.but i never played Unity or the new syndicate.and i'm not planning to.does not sound that great
+SquishyBananaBread But that only finishes Ezio's story. Not what Desmond and the others are facing in 'current' times. But I loved Ezio. He was my favorite.
+MegaGothmog if Altair revolutionized the brotherhood. Why do u think ezio looked up to him as he did? Altair is the lager of assassins therefore already passed ezio my friend
I don't care for the controls, gameplay, or the stupid optional objectives the early AC games have, but man is the story and ending for this game one of my favorites for any video game I've played. The music adds so much to it. No doubt one of the most beautifully made endings for an AC game.
I don't know why, but the moment Darim says "All that is good in me, began with you, father." makes me cry every single time I watch it, and makes me think about my own father, who I only get to see once every other year.
See I was pumped for 3. I was like oh I cant wait to Play as Desmond and save the world! Then it was annouced that 3 would be another Ancestor of Desmonds rather then Desmond fully. I think for me thats were my Disapointment for the series really started and continues to this day. I havent even played an Assassins Creed game since 3.
DarkYamiThe3RD if you ever want to go back to it just play assassins creed 4 black flag I played all the games after 3 and black flag is the best out of the new ones. It is also a much better and emotional game then assassins creed 3
This game is so emotional man. I just sat watching the credits and it hits you. Ezio did his best to live a good life and he never let his work and all the horrible things he experienced over the years change who he was at his heart. Just as he an his brother promised each other on the roof of that church at the beginning of AC2. My favourite character right there.
My first AC game was Odyssey, which gameplay wise was fun but started to become a grind 50ish hours in, got bored with Valhalla in even less. Decided to start this series ALL the way back in AC1 last year, along with this trilogy which I just finished today and I can COMPLETELY see why you guys totally geek out over them. These games have so much soul its unreal. Never trust anyone that says skip AC1.
After revelations i have never played another AC game. For me the moment desmond died was the moment the AC story was over. He saved the world, sacrificed his life and then died as a hero. Not to mention it had THE greatest ending in ANY possible game that has come out on today. Conclusion, I thank my self for never picking up another AC game and calling this the final ending.
Ending gives me goosebumps every time. I wish they still continued to really focus on the ancient civilization story and the whole plan of everything. It grabbed me in so much
Altair lived to be 92 in the 1200's.
that in itself is a major accomplishment
Yeah.I mean, didn't people in that time live a shorter lifetime?
Diogo Pinto
It is possible that the Apple of Eden he had with him prolonged his life. This would explain why he grew weaker and died relatively quickly when he hid it in the tomb and sat down in that chair.
Lenariet I never thought about it like that. an interesting theory
Playerbam
Also notice thanks to the Apple he had access to knowledge far beyond his time.

Altaïr

+5Sush0 I remember the first time I finished the game. I thought it was the best ending for any game I've ever played... still is
H-Bomber i think the same too.
5Sush0 I say still is because TBH I haven't played a game properly since Black FLag in 2013 (Discounting Dragonball Xenoverse because that focuses more on an MMO element)
+5Sush0 And as Ezio says: "Just you fratello mio. Requiescat in pace, Altair." It just gives me so much emotion...

I have played the newer games......not knowing its purpose
Ezio talking directly to Desmond will always be the best moment in the franchise
to me it was Juno

@@H.K.5 They have the same face in AC2 and ACB because the animus puts Desmond's face on Ezio. In Revelations we see Ezio's real face. Desmond's had to be changed for legal reasons.

Not compareable, too different. TWD is an emotional tear-driver. Revelations is age- and century-crossing epicness.
Lenariet meh..
Ezio is the best character Ubisoft has created. Now they are just churning out characters left and right for each new assassins creed game, it's hard for me to care for anyone of them.
I know dude, feel free to express your opinion
ironmantis25 Connor and Edward, I could sort of care for them.

This is the only ending I've been satisfied with in the franchise
+Writer Shard Better bring back Desmond allng the way.
This comment described what my mind can't say
Fake characters are always the best kind of role models. Even if they don’t exist.
You can say that Altair was real...
TheEpona92 Finally somebody that understands the DEEPNESS of the AC series.
I think Assassin's creed 3 is the best of the series
Such an emotional scene when Altair dies...
It truly felt like the series was going to go in a different direction than it ultimately has.
well it did go in a different direction. Just a bad one that shits on the greatness of the previous ones
ac4 was good
+Shay Frye agreed, but it should have been a new IP instead. Ships or pirates shouldn't be associated with AC.
You're right dude. Most of the gameplay dynamic, the interface, the "promise" that the game held... it all points to "we got some of the cool stuff in, but then the budget ran out". Kind of like unity and syndicate-- with the absurd micropurchases to get forward faster. What a crock of shit.
but you have to admit, being a cowboy assassin would be pretty awesome
One of the best ACs ever created. Newer games NEED to have these stories in them for god's sake. Such a masterpiece. The story was the most touching and emotional, the gameplay was also good with some useful modificationss and the city was so BEAUTIFUL. Not to mention, the missions design and the side quests were fun as hell.
Unfortunately thanks to GTA online and how's it being milked for so many years most game developers aren't focused on story given games, all about online and fucking battle royal shit, I'm going to buy the ezio collection for old times sake, get sad comparing this to modern ac games
Easily my favourite video game ending of all time
In my opinion, games these days need somthing like this.
Crisis series has a good story
Actually i liked black flag. But yeah, ezio was fkin legendary. Black Flag was also quite good but it wasnt exactly an assassins creed game, more like pirate ship simulator
Black flag was better than ac2 imo
***** so does the last of us. what's ur point?

Altair died alone in his library without anyone even knowing of his death .. the only "R.I.P." he got is from a man he never knew , a man who didn't even live in his era.
Well, Ezio was a descendant from Altair, so, they're family.
I think his son knew or at least assumed he will die there
@SlayerSaber He wasn't, Ezio's great-great grandfather has diary entries at the bottom of Villa Auditore in the same era where Altair died, of his run in with Niccolo Polo. As a native Italian, it's unlikely Altair's family got there and reproduced before 1257. It's been confirmed that Desmond's relation to them is maternal for Altair, and paternal for Ezio.

Watching an older Ezio acknowledge Desmond was a real payoff.
Good bye Ezio. We will miss you.
Played unity. Thought I would get an epic ending like this, but no. Even though revelations wasn't my favorite assassins creed game, It still had my favorite ending.
Unity is all about FEED DAMN ENGINE MASSIVE CROWD!
Man even after 10 years, this game still has one of the best endings. I miss beating this game for the first back when I was in high school
I remember the first time I saw this, when I played through the game. "I do not know where you are, or by what means you can hear me. But I know you are listening" it just got so real. Ezio knew all along, he figured it out. It just hit me like a brick.
Finished this game today. It was a masterpiece. I am pleased to say i lived in the right moment to play this creation
I still thought Brotherhoods ending was great though, honestly that was my favorite part of the whole game
And I agree about the 100% Sync. The tower defense crap is terrible.
TheAwesomeSpork It was longer than Brotherhood, AC Liberation, or AC Bloodlines

We know the how Altair, Ezio, Haytham and Edward all die. I wonder if Ubisoft will ever reveal Connor's fate.
I wonder if it's something to do with Unity, and he dies in it or something, or you're told how he dies.
Umm all of them died, coz It is like hundreds of years before present day.
Mister Mister no shit lol

Ezio knew where to stop. I’ve seen enough for one life, this dialogue still lingers my mind and maybe it will forever.
Altair, you have found true peace at last including you Ezio.Your final chapter is complete
The story is so deep i love it
I have watched this so many times even now, where it looks like the world is coming to an end.
I've seen her the last time, in my arms.
Best ending in the franchise IMO. Ezio's retirement and Altair's last moments...
After AC3. Ubisoft completely Fucked up on the Assassins Creed story and the Game itself
+Kolby Wright I agree. AC had some of the best stories ever with such creativity and research... then it went onto pirates and random English people that have nothing to do with anything.
He says with a Jacob Frye pic
+The Burning Owl just Because i have Him as my Pic doesnt mean i Like the Game it means i Like the Character
+Kolby Wright After AC Revelations i cant play in AC.
+Kolby Wright syndicate was good but not as good as anything wit etzio
I hate this whole "YoU DOn'T pLAY aN AsAAsSin so It'S NoT AsSSAssIns cREeD"
That was a beautiful ending. I'm sad to see just how helpless the first Civilization was when the solar flare hit. Another thing that I've truly come to grips with is Desmond woke up from a coma just to sacrifice himself
So sad to see how Altair died.....So sad to see Ezio retire......So sad to know that no other Assassin's creed game will ever even be close to this......
This is the best assassin's Creed games ever but people are to mad and jealous to realize, Ezio man you will always be the best assassin.
I think the whole Ezio series is hands down the best, of all the AC games. However, the soundtrack for 'Revelations' takes the cake. It wasn't the best of the three Ezio games, but its soundtrack was.
this is probably my favourite AC game
Those are the gems that need remakes. Oh how much I despaired when AC 1 ended on a cliffhanger.
BurreBurrsson True and the ending is great but you play as a selfish pirate for almost the whole game. The ending was great though.
BurreBurrsson True but it was also justice. He may have been after vengance but it ended up being justice, whereas Edward, "I was only in it for a bit of coin lad." As he cuts down everything in his path.
***** I just don't get how that's beautiful. I like the classic Brotherhood. I. Want. To. Fight. For. Freedom.
I actualy like Edward better. He has more character.
SuperArppis Could you explain to me how?
The series should have ended here.
Dissagree
I don't care for the controls, gameplay, or the stupid optional objectives the early AC games have, but man is the story and ending for this game one of my favorites for any video game I've played. The music adds so much to it. No doubt one of the most beautifully made endings for an AC game.
They should remaster the original assassins creed game with Altair n all
That music when Altair sits.... gets me everytime
I havent even played an Assassins Creed game since 3.
play black flag, not a good assassins creed But really good pirate game with some assasin/templar stuff
DarkYamiThe3RD Rogue was pretty good one! you should play it
Ahem go play origins
Shedewbeast 300 not even close too the trilogy
DarkYamiThe3RD if you ever want to go back to it just play assassins creed 4 black flag I played all the games after 3 and black flag is the best out of the new ones. It is also a much better and emotional game then assassins creed 3
This game is so emotional man. I just sat watching the credits and it hits you. Ezio did his best to live a good life and he never let his work and all the horrible things he experienced over the years change who he was at his heart. Just as he an his brother promised each other on the roof of that church at the beginning of AC2. My favourite character right there.
Poor ezio, he lives his whole life just to served for greater future but not know his purpose
What have the series become...more fun less life lessions? These games thought me well thank you ezio for your wisdom
For real. I was lucky enough to start with AC II on the Ezio collection 2 months ago, and I don't regret it at all.
Back when the series still had these climax story moments. Now everything in AC just feel like side quests.
Assassin's creed was once a strong and powerful franchise that lived in peace and harmony, but then everything changed when ac3 attacked...
And completely massacred after black flag
I always come back to watch this. One of the best, if not the best and longest cutscene I've seen in any game.
Revelations has always been my favorite because..lets be honest it is the perfect ending to a game and a character!
Ending gives me goosebumps every time. I wish they still continued to really focus on the ancient civilization story and the whole plan of everything. It grabbed me in so much
fuck, who the hell is peeling all of these goddamn onions?!
