this man was the superhero of my childhood
Same for many of us ! :)
@@RelentlessKnight yeah, and me.
Same here friend
And they killed him in a damn 5 min UA-cam video. I see they deleted the original video though they knew this was disrespectful of the goat 🐐
@@garitcarijean5612 at least he died happy. After all that has happened to him that's really all I could ask for as an ending
I like that the last thing that he saw in his last moments was his family being happy and alive.
So poetic and tying up to AC2 where the death of his family was one thing that started his path as the assasin.
Damn
Not enough people know about this. I’m so glad it exists. The idea of not seeing Ezio’s end broke my heart. We saw his beginning and end.
And during his last final years before his death, it just saddens me how much his story was. Losing his half families, his friends like Christina and meeting Altair just sitting in a chair just peacefully. And for that, I don't care what people say about him. He will my favorite game character from the Assassin's Creed series. Because it's great enough to have a character's story you can relate to.
A man we never met, a man that does not exist but a man we love deep in our heart's ❤
amen
Wow rly yes
Ezio Auditore and Arthur Morgan have to both be the best videogame characters ever created.
Master chief too!
Dont forget Agent 47
Dude EA and AM= same energy😂❤
And Solid Snake
Lee Everett, Dovahkiin and Edward Kenway too.
The man is Ezio's past self, it shows how far Ezio has come, from being a mischievous teen to the master assassin he once was. This scene is really deep, never fails to make me tear up

@@odysseasr308 Long story short, Ezio was having delusions of grandure Wikipedia link en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grandiose_delusions Basically what this is; is the human brain is having hallucionations of something, anything, before death. When stated the drug DMT, Wikipedia link en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimethyltryptamine that is sometimes released at the time of someones death causes said delusions. In Ezio's case, he was hallucionating his younger self.
@@rxblo thats not really how it would work out in this imaginary scenario but sure, go off gurl
Time is an enemy that no warrior no matter how strong can defeat. This is a beautiful ending for a beautiful character. No story could create another character such as ezio
Watching this man grow and learn was an honor
Requiescat in pace, Ezio Auditore da Firenze
the greatest assassin
From what I saw I think the man was a Templar who was there to kill ezio and ezio knew that he was a Templar, but the man saw that ezio was already dying and the nod meant that there was an understanding between the two. Edit: at 2:21 you can see ezio looking at something and right after that he starts to calm down. I also think the nod from the man was him confirming ezio’s suspicion that he’s a Templar.
You can also see a little bit of a hidden blade under his sleeve when he holds Ezio's hand.
@@diegoestrada56 false
@@noctiscaelum3504 blind
IIRC the devs have said that the man was actually a hallucination. Ezio was already dying, and the man was simply a representation of how Ezio was in his younger days, which he realizes and is why he stares at him for a split moment like that. It means his life has finally came full circle and that he got to die in the very place his journey started.
@@47thheaven34 exactly
The man is no templar. There is no cross on his bracer. I encourage you to stop the video, take a screenshot, and brighten/enhance the image. Compare it to images online that allege the templar cross and you will see a difference (even if you only see pixels). The man does grab Ezio’s hand and says, “courage, old man”. Ezio looks at him as if he were saying: “has my time come?” and the man nods to agree. So is he a templar no. He’s a hallucination in the likeness of the younger version of Ezio. The hallucination is Ezio’s realization that he is dying. We know he’s not real because earlier in AC Embers Ezio looks out across a field and sees a man, wipes his face, and the man disappears. Ezio is clearly very sick and he WRITES a letter to Sofia right before they leave. He knows he’s about to die. Ezio poses 0 threat to the templars because he left the Assassin’s and seeks to live in peace. The whole Embers (even the title) foreshadow his dwindling life. It was no assassination from a Templar, but a man dying in peace. One last thing to prove the man isn’t real. The man walks straight away from Ezio and you won’t see him in the zoomed out view… just like the hallucination earlier.
"Courage, old man. Get some rest."
i somehow knew what was going to happen right after that :(
In my opinion HE is the most legendary assassin. Nobody else got 3 games.
Yeah could be, i personally think Altaïr, Edward and Alexios are up there as well

Rest easy to THE Master assassin, Ezio Auditore. Thank you for being a part of my childhood ❤
We saw his entire life from his birth to his death. Makes it so much sadder😢
I bought myself a steamdeck for christmas and saw that AC2, Brotherhood and Revelations were dirt cheap on the steam store. The insane level of nostalgia that I got from playing these games again after so many years(just finished Brotherhood and going to start Revelations now) and seeing this video for the first time brought tears to my eyes. Its because of Ezio that I got the assassin insignia on my right wrist. Im not a gamer by any means. I like Metal Gear, GTA and Ezio's games, thats it. This was really special to me as I didnt think he was in any other games. Requiescat in pace my good friend 😢
RIP the Man of All Assassains Rest in the Grave well Live in heaven Like a Dream RIP Ezio
Requiescat in pace legend !
I feel like that dude definitely had some connection to ezio he even had an obvious hidden blade on his arm but I’m not sure what. But my guess is he was just there to show him that his family is still safe. Which is why Ezio was so happy and at peace looking at his wife and daughter
The subtle smile and nod to me was a “it’s okay for you to go”
Try to pause when you see the vein sleve where hidden blade be on that dudes arm. Just before he sit. He has templar cross there.
It’s confirmed that’s it’s a younger version of himself not a Templar devs confirmed
@@deadmeme2403 dude, it's a reflection of ezio's younger self, not a templar, not some assassin, nothing, as much as i love theories this is just straight up wrong
Back when assassin's creed was about assassins
I liked how you could hear his last breath after he took one last look at his family. And I have read many interpretations to who the person that sat on the bench next to him was. I think most get it wrong, for one, I don't think he was actually there, I think it was Death letting him know that it was ok for him to stop fighting and to let go, because the most important things he said to him was "rest' and "courage old man". Throughout the whole movie was the incessant coughing, besides after all that fighting he did the day before, he knew his time was winding down. Sad, but fitting end.
You just rarely get this sort of emotional investment in a character anymore.
True that !
Bro knew Ezio had the blade but stopped him. Ezio looked at his own hand then looked at the man. The man stoped whatever Ezio was going to do because he knew what he was going for. I think the man was death reminding Ezio of the arogance he once had but realized at the last moment who it was and what it meant in the moment
That is a very good take !
He Lived His Life As A Assasin And Died As A Mentor ❤
A Templar with a hidden blade.
Not the first or last time we would see someone like that.
Shay Cormac !
Nope. Not a templar. Just a hallucination
At least he’s now reunited with his father and brothers.
Pretty clear to me rewatching this many years later out of curiosity, that he was poisoned by that guy. But it seems like he was okay with dying and maybe even happy to a degree.
He looked like he had a heart disease or some such. Would still be interesting to know what actually happened there, might have just been a heart attack.
@@RelentlessKnight Nah, otherwise he wouldn't die that fast and that calmly, he was poisoned by hidden blade or some sort. Edit: 1:45 you can see he has something in his arm hidden inside.
@@GodKingIssei Yeah that makes sense i suppose :)
@@RelentlessKnight You could tell Ezio was actually relieved when he got poisoned, he wasn't shocked, he wasn't trying to fight, he was like, my death has come, i will embrace it.
@@GodKingIssei Go watch the entire movie. Ezio was showing signs of being worn out and close to death through the entire thing. All sources state natural cause of death. The most common theory is that this was a hallucination of his younger, smug, self-centered version before he got the reality check and turned into an assassin.
Requiescat in pace... Ezio... 💔
I have a weird respect for the man who obviously came to kill ezio. Something about him seeing him already dying with his family and respecting it instead of assassinating him makes me just respect him.
"Get some rest, huh?" Ezio needed that rest after all hes been through man.
You got respect for the man who killed a weak and old Ezio ? No offence but that makes no sense ! :D Prime Ezio would have obliterated that coward
Requiescat In Pace, Ezio, friend, mentor.
Definitely not the death I expected but atleast he was finally at peace
Ezio was a big part of my child hood, I remember my uncle letting me play AC1 it was good but playin as ezio in AC2 you felt like superman😂
Requiescat in pace, Ezio.🥺😢😥
Am I the only one that thinks that he was killed by that schmuck? That grin he gave Ezio, it reeks of Templar malice......
Theres no way to know for sure, and i think Ubisoft wanted that
To be fair, we learned he died from the first game with him, and this information seems to be from either the Template or Assassin database. Seems like he really did just have a heart attack after all the shit he went through by this point.
I really think people are misunderstanding this ending. That guy was clearly death come to let Ezio know it is time. He was a mirror reflection of Ezio’s younger self, which made Ezio content in his final moments as he realized how far he had come.
The best assasin in the world
Yep definitely and one of the greatest video game characters ever created !
Ubisoft will never make an AC assassin as good as Ezio or Conner
Sometimes i repeat watching this iconic story ..only to travel to our great memories

Requièscat en pace for the most badass assassin amongst the greatest assassins ever lived. So long ezio auditore.
Ezio lived a good life, sure his family died but he ended up become a badass master assassin, sleeping with tons of women, lived a good retirement with a hot wife and a child and eventually died semi- peacefully of a heart attack in the middle of town.
I personally like to think the young man really was a Templar like other theorists say, but he didn't kill Ezio, he just knew Ezio was on his last legs and sort of said goodbye to him.
Requiescat In Pace ✝️
~ Ezio Auditore
My childhood hero got poisoned by the despicable me villain
He actually looks exactly like him LMAO
Okay, from what i understand the guy that sat down and talked to Ezio was a Templar assassin sent to kill him, you can see a templar cross when he goes to sit down and he also has only one leather cuff on his right wrist which has a hidden blade, you can see the blade when he grabs Ezio's hand.
The assassin saw how Ezio was frail, weak and posed no real threat anymore so he just let him live for the rest of the short time he had.
You can also see how he was a representation of Ezio's younger self, he even has a scar on his face, it reminds Ezio of how he used to be inmature and only thought of women. It's also probably why he also spared Ezio since an arrogant young dude wouldn't waste his time to kill an old dude in the edge of death in the middle of a public space, better just let time do its thing than risk getting caught, you'll still get paid for the contract anyways and better save the time to go get laid.
An old assassin probably wouldn't have let Ezio live, since they know they have to make sure the target is 100% dead.
That was a pretty good analysis
I learnt so much from this man!

I think the man was an angel, or maybe death. He came to show Ezio how far he has come in life, and in his last moment he realized how happy he was.
He had a Templar medallion on his sleeve though.
@@RelentlessKnightwhat is the time stamp where you can see it? I must be overlooking it.
On a rewatch I guess it’s possible that he poisons Ezio with his hidden blade when he grabs his hand.
@@demonicar 1:45 Templar medallion on his sleeve, difficult to see but it's there
@@RelentlessKnighthe’s no Templar. He’s death aka the grim reaper. Look at how he nods to ezio basically letting him know that his time has come and that it’s time for him to let go. Also if you noticed ezio started to have a heart attack immediately after the man touches his hand. The myth is that anytime the reaper touches an individual he/she starts to die rather quickly. Also to point out the mysterious man completely vanishes as if he wasn’t even there once the camera starts to slowly pan up.
Given the cough I think poor ezio died of tuberculosis. But he died happy. Few people get to go happy. That guy may have been either assassin or Templar but either way it seems he had an unspoken respect for ezio. Not uncommon for either side. Gotta respect a man who foils 15 take over the city and church plots. Ezio is a legend greater than any other of Desmond’s ancestors. Even Altair and Edward did not accomplish as much as him. I think the man was assuring ezio whether or not he was a Templar or assassin that even in his death his family would be safe. Probably the only reason ezio kept going day to day. He was clearly worn out just breathing. And tbh I don’t think the templars had any interest in going for ezio. Sure he was a pain in their ass but he’d been retired probably over ten years at this point and they would have either thought he was dead or retired. Either way no reason to mess with him. Especially because if he became a figurehead again the assassins would start kicking their ass again.

Is so sad seeing ezio die after so long the old boy may he rest in peace 🙏 😢
it always is kinda sad
For the ones wondering about it. The guy was indeed a templar and poisoned Ezio. You can spot in fact, for a moment, a hidden blade inside his sleeve.
Moreover, the look they exchange each other are pretty talkative. Ezio understood what the men was there to do.
Several templars were known to take hidden blades from their enemies as a trophy and Ezio could have possibly recognized the hidden blade as a friend's.
Actually that was possibly the only end Ezio could expect.
Maybe he is a rouge student saying good bye. Or final insult?
rogue
there is no blade on his bracer, nor in the sleeve
The reach is strong in this one
he did not poison ezio but you got right the blade part he has the blade but did't use it because ezio was dying same on Templar part if you go from ezio's perspective , but this is all a hallucination
I finished relevations just now and man I feel like crying

NOOOOOOOO EZIOOOOOO UR MY MOST FAV ASSASIN T-T
He's the greatest assassin ever :D
Ezio went through three games just to be killed by a dude with a bowl cut 💀
I have been looking for a tin sign of ezio for a long time.i want it for my mancave
tin sign ?
There are many people who ask, who was the dude? was it death? a templar? someone they meant to flesh out but never did? just some dude? Ezio's inner reflection of his youth?
Guys, anyone thought thay it was just a stylized interpretation of Petrucio as a grown up in the afterlife? like, yeah you can still say "ah its a metaphor for death" but I am not looking just for meaning in plot but also in appearance, and I feel like that fits.
Not exactly sure but that's definitely an interesting interpretation
He died with honor 🎖
There is literally no reason for templars to kill Ezio while he is frail, weak and retired. He poses no threat
Makes sense. Source though ?
Guys, In my opinion the man at the end is a real character and is indeed a templar assassin. First, due to the templar cross he wears on the right forearm, second, but I could have misinterpreted it, how he press the hand on its shoulder and the noise that can be heard, which reminds me clearly the movement of a stealth poisoned blade, or it’s simply him standing up, who knows.
It was confirmed that The guy who sat down next to him was just a random guy, who reminded Ezio of his teenage years. (Always chasing after women.) The guy got up and left because he saw Ezio wasn't feeling well. There wasn't any poison involved, and the, "Templar insignia" on his wrist has nothing to do with it.
I wish his ending was with rosa from the second game. I know that the voice actress passed away
Had she already passed away when this game movie was originally made ?
i love ezio
I think we all do
