      The solution for my eczema is strong steroid cream but my doctor refused to prescribe it to me last time I had an appointment. I had eczema all over my body, including the scalp but he didn’t suggest anything for my scalp, only a moisturizing cream for my body that I know will makes it sting more and make me itch like crazy but he didn’t care when I told him.

    • @athenazz81
      @athenazz81 6 місяців тому

      @@88marome Get a new doctor, sadly using steroids constantly can cause more harm... Definitely request a referral to a dermatologist for other remedies like oral meds or dupixent.
      I have severe chronic eczema all over my body not one part isn't affected. My derm prescribed the highest dose of dupixent which I inject every 2 weeks.
      Before dupixent I got dependent on steroid creams which then caused me to go through TSW.. It was a living hell

    Thanks for mentioning that commenter who said they use CeraVe in the tub as a conditioner it's better than any regular conditioner and it's helped my scalp eczema and bacne lol
    I like to take a gentle clarifying shampoo (sulfate, fragrance free, I like the MoroccanOil brand one) and dilute it into a bottle of water with a long thin applicator (most beauty supply stores have them for like a buck) shake it up, and squirt it directly to different localised areas on my scalp to get more precise, even coverage, and to help me scrub less to get my whole scalp, plus i rinse it out more quickly. I'm thinking about getting coconut oil soon to see if using it before i wash really helps my hygral fatigue! Thank you so much for your tips again!

Thankyou for all your videos - after having an excision recently, your informative uploads have really helped educate me on how to protect my skin and avoid skin cancers going forward. Would it be possible to do a video on how to protect and repair the skin/hair after regular swimming for exercise (pool and ocean). I’m guessing the trans epidermal water loss may be quite high - are there ways to counteract this???? Thankyou 🙏🙏🙏

    How often should you exfoliate your scalp and is there a product that you recommend? I used to have my scalp exfoliated about once a month at my hair salon (with a well known brand) and although the scalp felt clean, the product seemed to aggravate my scalp and cause more dryness.

    I have dry, naturally curly hair with a dry scalp. I find that the fewer products I use on my scalp, the better. More products or heavy styling products tend to cause a buildup that eventually starts flaking or lifting which causes more itching. :-( I don't apply any styling products on my roots, in fact I keep them at least 2 inches down the hair shaft to prevent this issue. I also sleep on satin pillow cases which prevents a lot of frizz but a nice side effect is less itchiness on my scalp, I think due to less friction applied to my head while sleeping. :-) Thanks again for another captivating video Dr. Dray! Happy Friday! :)

    Thank you so much for sharing such information, as a kid i used to deal with eczema on my eyelids when i was like 10_17 years old and i used Betamethasone ointment to help with it, the eczema eventually went away. But now in my early twenties I’ve been having itchy scalp in a specific part of my head for 2_3 years and i have used oil based solutions containing Betamethasone .as long as i use it my scalp feels better and its not itchy but as soon as i cut it, it just comes back. So my question is does ecxema travel through the body?(if it makes sense 😂) and what treatment is best for the scalp besides the esteroid? 🙏🏻🥰

    I get acne on my scalp when I really stressed out, but I rarely get acne on my face. It's mainly on my sideburn area, below the area behind my ears, the top of my head, and then spread out all around. I can't stop picking at it, it's so painful!!! :"( I dont think it's eczema since it's not itchy, per say, but it's lumpy and pus comes out when I scratch them open :"(

    Honestly you would have had a field day with the Hema UK serum I saw earlier: it said it was not perfumed. Despite containing at least 5 scent-only essential oils, and literally containing PARFUM.
    That aside, I don't have eczema but I do have scalp psoriasis and the only thing that particularly helps me is Polytar shampoo. Other than that I've mostly given up, although ginger or oat shampoos (NOT the Aveeno baby head-to-toe though! That was helllll) tend to be a reasonable bet. Mostly though I just use my Polytar as directed, and just use something which at least doesn't worsen things on the non-tar days so I can at least enjoy smelling nice. I do also make my own as well as having some store-bought ones, and my current favourite is a coffee mocha shampoo featuring coconut oil as a mild surfactant and descaling ingredient, which smells A+ and works pretty damned well!

    I found Vanicream products through your other videos. I ventured on to try their shampoo and conditioner. After about a month, my scalp eczema is virtually gone. I previously used Neutrogena T/Gel, I actually tried one wash since using the Vanicream and it made my scalp red and inflamed. I just re-read the ingredients for T/Gel and it does have Fragrance, I'm thinking that may be the cause. The Vanicream seems to be the cure! Thank you and love you and your videos!

    I developed itchy scalp and bumps that sometimes turned into sores about 1 1/2 years ago under a period of extreme stress (both parents passed away). Saw 2 dermatologists, tried various prescribed items. Nothing seemed to help. After watching Dr. Dray’s videos, I have been alternating Nizoral shampoo with Free & Clear shampoo. Has seemed to help tremendously. Not gone, but more manageable and sores are gone. My derm says alternating is something they often suggest.

In my country I can only find the Eucerin product and now I totally understand why I will throw every head & shoulders in the garbage and I think that there is also one more very very important thing to mention and that is that the food intake may have a great negative effect on this unfortunate condition. I am not a doctor and not an expert but what are your thoughts about the food triggers ( maybe nicotine and marijuana also ). Anyway thanks for all of the advices again!
