You two Young Ladies are the "Real Deal".
Your down to earth story telling injected with humor; the juxtapositions of the man-made sacred with the nature made sacred, expertly woven together with your wonderful photography is heartfelt. As others have noted - you put a lot of effort into your work. Your details are so well captured- can't praise you enough!
The video seems to be paced "just right" - then - WHAM - you TAKE YOUR TIME to rescue a poor, sick, kitty - even after you note that you "have to be more careful with paying full price for lodging" 😮😥😮😨😨, otherwise, "you'll run out of funds"!
    You two made me cry!!
Thank you, thank you for rescuing the little kitty!
(I hope your work has earned enough to pay for your well presented ventures!)
The Best to You, Both!! 💗

You had me in tears... I walked the Camino before on my own and in 2 days I´ll be walking it again with someone for the first time. Watching the special relationship you had with your sister really touched my heart. Buen Camino wherever you are

I have watched so many Camino videos....I have lost count. I have to say....without a doubt...your video is my favorite...although I found myself crying most of the time through it. I loved that you wanted to take your little sister and you both seem to love each other so much. I have been alienated from my sister for many years and we haven't spoken. If the betrayal had not run so deep....I would call her up and see if she wants to walk it with me. But I will not fool myself. It would not be the same Camino as you and your little sister have just undertaken. And I can bet that the bond between the two of you can never be broken. I have been dreaming of walking the Camino. I am fixing to turn 71 in a few days. I guess that is why I have watched so many videos. It was just a couple of days ago that I decided to take the money I have been saving for the last couple of years for a screened in back porch (to keep those pesky mosquitos away in the Carolinas)....but yesterday morning I woke up and I said to myself over my morning coffee that I have decided to take my screen porch money and make plans to use the money to go and walk the Camino. I was so happy and I even called to see how much it will cost to board my dogs. So I am feeling excited just to have made the decision. Well.....my happiness at the prospect of walking the Camino came crushing down before I even got started. I went out to my car and it is broken. I knew this day would come (It's a 1990 SUV with over 300,000 miles on it. It has been a good old car. Other than maintenance I haven't had a day of trouble. Looks like my Camino will have to wait another year. Now, I need to look for another good used car, I guess. Thank you again for sharing your adventure. I especially loved the filming of the little creatures. I could sense God smiling.

I plan on going back to Burgos to finish. Le Puy is a wonder start for the Camino. It’s the gr65. The trail is marked with a red and white stripe. Keep up the wonderful videos! Be well, John

I tip my hat to you for your humor, your amazing photography, the editing, the soundtrack choices were epic and for carrying all the cameras and chargers and recharging every day so you could film and share this with us. This really touched me deeply! This is the best film I've seen...way better than the Hollywood film of it for sure! You shared such joy! and nothing felt rehearsed or awkward....Kudos to you both and THANK you for sharing your joyful journey...it makes me want to go back again.

What a charming pair you two are! I just loved your video! Had me in tears so many times. Barring a continued Covid shutdown, my plan is to walk the Camino in 2021 and to enter Santiago De Compostela in time to celebrate the Jubilee year of the Festival De Santiago on July 25.
I was always told that the true pilgrim walks the Camino alone, but after watching Dos Chicas, I am afraid that I too will bring my little sister along- to celebrate-like yourselves-the joy of sisterhood.
    Buen Camino.

I just finished watching your through hike of the PCT and yesterday, I was fortunate enough to watch your through hike on the Camino de Santago. I want to say thank you. Thank you for the beautiful person you truely are. Little things of saving little lives of insects, your funny, funny original and special sense of humour caught me with deep gratitude and love. I have been hiking for a few years in Australia but nothing like what you do. You really inspire me to take my hiking to another level. Thank you for your honesty and sweetness. This was such a lovely documentary. When I walked the Camino, I was young and rushing it. I missed out on so many of the slower, beautiful moments that you captured in this video. Seems like such a lovely sister bonding experience. I wouldn't trade my Camino experience for anything - everyone walks their own walk - but seeing this makes me want to walk it all over again and really savor it.

Missed the Premiere but watching this version of your complete Camino series from last year today. It is super!. Coincidentally, today, I was looking at our photos from our Portuguese Coastal Camino last Autumn. The Camino gets in your blood and when you aren’t there yourself, you have to relive your own, or live vicariously through someone else’s. Listening to you learn about a new place, a country you’ve never been to, is fascinating. Taking your younger sibling on this trip was a very wonderful thing to do. You will be forever adored by your sister, and all your viewers, too. You recognize what you don’t know, and that there are things to learn, every step of the way. Americans have a reputation, perhaps unfair, of not recognizing this when they travel. I learn something from every one of your videos, even ones I’ve watched before. Ultreia! And stay home and safe in the meantime! Where are you planning to hike next?

    • @RodMurray

It hadn’t occurred to me until I got to the end of this why I enjoyed watching the two of you walk. You see, we walked part of the French Way in 2016 with our friends, and were were also joined by their three daughters, 26, 23 and 21. So many of the fun (and silly) things you and your sister did, and thoughtful things you observed, and the bond you have, are reminiscent of our wonderful walk with these three young women. Thanks again for sharing your journey. After our second Camino, via the Portuguese Coastal route, I am determined to return, and walk another route, or all of the French way. Thanks again for the inspiration.

Its so sad everyone'es hiking adventures were cut short this year, but this is wonderful, because it captures what it was like before all this. Love that you got to do a hike with your sister, thats nice when you can share something like that with her. I just love your videos! I think you should put Thru Hike and Spain in the title, in case people don't know what it is. Thats so neat the communal dinner, and how you get to hear about everyone's journey. I started to cry when you mentioned the story of the guy, and the daughters ashes. My sister in law lost her son, and carried his ashes with her on a necklace, and then she tragically passed away. I hope that man finds what he needs on the journey. We all take journeys for different reasons. Running toward something, away from it, to try to find something that gives your life meaning, to fill yourself up when your feeling empty, with something new. "This Alabama runs deep." Speaking the language is a big deal anywhere you go, and I think its the most nerve wracking part of travel.

Not gonna lie, when I would see them around a big group of people I freaked out a little on the inside.. really puts into perspective what a toll the last few months has taken on my mind. I can't wait until this is over, I would love to do this trail!

Well done, girls! Thank you for sharing your lyrical and inspirational journey. It’s a visual masterpiece of storytelling, beautifully edited. I love the creative transitions. You’ve distilled the essence of the Camino. I’ve been dreaming of my 2nd Camino since I got back last year even though I was hobbling around like a centenarian for weeks afterward. The Camino loves you, hurts you, and begs you to come back. Thank you for keeping the dream alive - and the exhilarating ride!!!

Really enjoyed that Dixie! I started my own 'Camino' from my home in Dundalk, Ireland last summer and got as far as Mont St. Michel in Normandy (took the ferry from Rosslare to Cherbourg). It might take me a while to get to Santiago! But I'm in no rush, I think it's kinda fun to take it in sections and zig-zag my way down from one interesting place to another. I had a tent and stayed at campsites in Normandy which was really nice, campsites in France are very friendly, relaxed places I found and very cheap, I think the cheapest pitch I got was €3 for a night! I wonder is that an option in Spain, I didn't really like the look of those crammed dormitories you stayed at. I'm enjoying your channel and the good advice and thorough reviews, keep up the good work, Shane.

Dixie, this is just superb, I walked the Camino in 2019 just after my 70th birthday and seeing these little towns brings back so many memories. Good idea to walk with your sister, you were able to share the planning and the walking, meet people, etc. it is a unique experience and I just want to do another, perhaps the walk from Porto north to Santiago. It’s now Sept 2020 and I suspect it will be a few years before it is possible or safe. They are having a hard time with the pandemic in Spain. Have to agree that having some Spanish language is a huge benefit, I spent some time learning a few words using Coffee Break Spanish, and highly recommend it as a way of learning enough Spanish for the Camino. It’s a popular walk among other Australian hikers too. thanks for your other videos too...

Nice to see this updated video though the cat rescue doesn't feature... I still think - as I posted on your last Camino summary video - that you'd find it very interesting & rewarding to hike round the Japanese island of Shikoku following the 88 temples pilgrimage route. Discreet wild camping very easy and cheap hot springs everywhere. Rural Japanese, and most Japanese in general, are very welcoming to people such as yourself and Japan is... another planet (with gorgeous nature... and those hot springs!). Thank you for your entertaining posts.

Girl. First of all let me say as a Fellow southerner NC and Alabama, I absolutely love your take on life and your perspective in your editing and music! It’s the little things you say, the little frogs, snails, the wind in the trees, the lakes, sunsets, etc. that set you apart from any other hiking/adventure filmer/channel. This was such a beautiful trip to take your sis on and I soo loved every min of it. Was over too soon for me too as a viewer. ❤️ Keep it up and I hope to do the AT one day soon

Been watching quite a few videos about long distance walks and this is one of the best. You've captured the essence of the Camino. It's fun to spot place and even people (Pepe) from when I walked the same Camino route in 2017. It was the simplicity of the Camino that I loved; how far shall I walk, what shall I eat and where will I stay? The only real three questions of the day.
