Holly Molly Ranger this was better than I could have ever expected. I have held off watching until I knew I had the hour and twenty minutes to view it uninterrupted. And the format, the editing, the soundtrack and the choice of background music just came together do beautifully. I’m planing to share it online with others like myself who do want to manage the courage to get on trail and Thru Hike the AT at my own pace & style to experience the hiker community, the wilderness, the emotions and hopefully the accomplishment to join the ranks of those completing a Thru zHoke of the Appalachian Trail. Thank you so much. ❤😊 God Bless you .

That was amazing. You did such a great job of editing your clips and putting it all together to make this awesome documentary. I’m so impressed with you and your determination. God bless you Ranger/Maddie. ❤
Man this was so surreal to watch. I can tell I was just like a day behind you and that group for most of the trail. For example, the person that stitched up your pants (Potato), I stayed with them in that shelter in the Greyson Highlands. So we had to have been there on the same day, you were just there earlier. (I started in Damascus May 7) but my experience I was often not hiking with anyone at all, not seeing people sometimes no one at all for a couple of days other than day hikers. But I didn't meet you guys until Maine. I had a mostly solitary thru hike until Maine. Then after I flipped and did Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia in October, it was a ghost town until Georgia when I linked up with some LASHers.
This was absolutely wonderful! You should get a prize for your great editing. We also watched the whole documentary in one sitting. My hubby (Trig Treks) did 500 miles last year on the trail and he's heading back mid year to do another 600 miles. We've loved following your journey - thanks so much or sharing the good and the tough days. All the best from Jim (Trig Treks) and Robyn in New Zealand.
Very well done Ranger! Both the Trail, and this video. I have not thru-hiked (yet), and may only section-hike. It's nice to watch all y'all conquer your problems and fun to watch your triumph. Cheers to all the people in this video!
1:09:43 A learning leasson: As commented in the original vlog video, don't have the rope straight across the water. Can you see the V shape that the rope creates stopping the person crossing and getting stranded midstream? The correct way it to have the rope angle sharply downstream so as you cross the current will push you all the way across and not strand you in the middle.
Wow...This was so well done! I didn't want it to end! I definitely will be hiking the AT...it probably won't be a thru-hike but definitely sections as i have time. You are my inspiration Maddie! Thank you for sharing your experiences, good and bad. ❤

@@BeerinBeautifulPlaces Dif you happen to visit a hostel in Lincoln? It was called Chet’s Place. It was across the street from a community center/day care.
I’ve known Chet and fam for many many years. I actually lived at the hostel in the house for about a year. It was good fun.
Absolutely Amazing ! Thank you for this gift. Your thoughts , insights , tears and joy and just pure strength and determination are an inspiration. You also have a wonderful sense of humor. I followed your journey the entire way and so enjoyed revisiting it in this masterful documentary…. And the Oscar goes too…… Maddie ! Brava !!!
Aww, yay! Thank you so much!!
You captured the true essence of the hike🥾🥾🥾

It’s super inspiring how much perspective and wisdom you gained on the trail. And this documentary is very well produced, the title cards and music and pacing and everything; well done!!!
Thanks so much! Glad you noticed all those little things!
Such a fun video! Even though I followed you on your journey, it was super fun to watch the documentary and re-live your awesome adventure. Great job 🤩

Wow, thank you! I really appreciate that!
Great video! Talented🎉
Thank you!! 😁
This was incredible. This would be so good for someone wanting to do the hike.
Thank you!! I really appreciate your support!
One of your best videos Ranger. Really enjoyed it.
Thank you so much!
There has to be a film festival or something that you can submit this to. It is so good!!!
Thanks!!! I haven’t looked into festivals yet, but I’m definitely hoping to!
That was amazing. You did such a great job of editing your clips and putting it all together to make this awesome documentary. I’m so impressed with you and your determination. God bless you Ranger/Maddie. ❤
Thank you so much! ❤️❤️❤️
That’s so cool! Are you Tina Shorts? If so, Smoke Master remembers you!
@@BeerinBeautifulPlaces yeah that's me
It was so great following your AT journey through your stories and vlogs and this documentary was brilliant
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
Thank you for this documentary...I miss you guys on trail!!!❤
This was absolutely wonderful! You should get a prize for your great editing. We also watched the whole documentary in one sitting. My hubby (Trig Treks) did 500 miles last year on the trail and he's heading back mid year to do another 600 miles. We've loved following your journey - thanks so much or sharing the good and the tough days. All the best from Jim (Trig Treks) and Robyn in New Zealand.
Love this video. Capture it perfectly. Great job.
Very well done Ranger! Both the Trail, and this video. I have not thru-hiked (yet), and may only section-hike. It's nice to watch all y'all conquer your problems and fun to watch your triumph. Cheers to all the people in this video!
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it. Best of luck with your section hiking or potential thru hike! :)
Good stuff! I'm planning to go next year. Great video full of emotions and spirit.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!!
@BeerinBeautifulPlaces most definitely. I'm quitting my job next march to hike the AT. I can't wait!!
Love this! I followed your journey from day 1 on trail. I enjoyed your weekly videos. Your realness.
Excellent video!
Thank you very much!
Great job Maddie!!!! Can't wait for your next big adventure!🎉
Thank you!!
Henry is awesomeness. embracing head scratching trends and always on top of tech.
Wow beautiful scenery ♡ I just started youtube following 2024 hikers. It's still March & everything is brown, cold & soggy. Love your story! ♡
Thanks so much! 💚
Wow...This was so well done! I didn't want it to end!
I definitely will be hiking the AT...it probably won't be a thru-hike but definitely sections as i have time. You are my inspiration Maddie! Thank you for sharing your experiences, good and bad. ❤
Very nice and unique take on the genre. I'd say best video of an AT thru-hike I've seen since mancub & kitfox 2012.
Thank you! I've seen so many AT docs, I wanted to do something different to add a little spice!
As a trail angel, I love receiving those cards.❤
That’s awesome!! I still need to send mine out
Thanks!
Thank YOU!
So awesome. I did my NOBO thru-hike back in 2015 and you brought back many incredible memories. Outstanding documentary and congrats fello Thru-hiker

Well done! I followed your whole journey last year and thought those videos were very good. You put so much personality into this. I loved the interviews, those really put a face on the hike. I have watched some of your other hikes, which were good, but you really nailed telling your story in this production. Well done Maddie! Hi Smokemaster!
Glad you like them!
