I think that you should go around to local or national news companies, when you’ve retired from hiking, to report the news. You’re really good at it and so funny.

Holly Molly Ranger this was better than I could have ever expected. I have held off watching until I knew I had the hour and twenty minutes to view it uninterrupted. And the format, the editing, the soundtrack and the choice of background music just came together do beautifully. I’m planing to share it online with others like myself who do want to manage the courage to get on trail and Thru Hike the AT at my own pace & style to experience the hiker community, the wilderness, the emotions and hopefully the accomplishment to join the ranks of those completing a Thru zHoke of the Appalachian Trail. Thank you so much. ❤😊 God Bless you .

Howdy Ranger, this is Sugar Bear. I met you near the Front Royal trailhead as I was entering and you were exiting the Shennies.
I’ve been watching your documentary (taking a break at “the trail provides” section to get to bed) so far, this is one of the best AT documentaries I’ve seen (and I’ve seen a lot). It is a surprising blend of great imagery, humor, honesty, vulnerability, and humility … and more importantly, captures the essence of the trail. Job well done! - Sugar Bear

I had literally started watching you on day 4. You popped up on my youtube channel. And followed you daily. I have watched your video a few times now. And watched others as well. But your documentary is very different from almost everyone that i have seen. Yours more on the emotional side of the trail. And the hard ships and other people's stories as well. Very well thought out video. i remember almost all of this when you were hiking. I'm not going to lie, tho that river crossing. i was scared for you. I remember when you posted that. I couldn't believe they let you try that. With your pack on. One of the guys should have stepped up on that one. But i knew you would end up making a beautiful documentary. It was very well thought out and very inspiring even tho i doubt i will ever thru hike personally. Im just an over night camper. I love driveing up to roan mountain and camping the Overmountain Shelter. I hate they took the barn down, tho. 😢 but it definitely is beautiful up there. Hate you couldnt see anything when you walked thru there. 💔. But just wanted to personally congratulate you on wonderfully made documentary and i hope that this video inspires people to get out and hike the A.T. much love ❤️

Man this was so surreal to watch. I can tell I was just like a day behind you and that group for most of the trail. For example, the person that stitched up your pants (Potato), I stayed with them in that shelter in the Greyson Highlands. So we had to have been there on the same day, you were just there earlier. (I started in Damascus May 7) but my experience I was often not hiking with anyone at all, not seeing people sometimes no one at all for a couple of days other than day hikers. But I didn't meet you guys until Maine. I had a mostly solitary thru hike until Maine. Then after I flipped and did Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia in October, it was a ghost town until Georgia when I linked up with some LASHers.

Maddie! I didn’t realize how much I’ve been missing your videos, your voice, your insight, until the very end of this amazing AT documentary! What an achievement! The trail, the weekly videos, and this. I can’t wait to see where adventure takes you and Smoke next. Also, what a thrill to see my name (Marta Rose) in the Patreon credits at the end-I hope more people will consider supporting you soon!

Excellent documentary, Ranger! It caused me to reflect back on a time during our through hike when, overcome with emotion, we could imagine ourselves on the top of Katahdin. So, even though I didn’t have time to feel any emotion at the summit because we were running short on daylight to get down the mountain, it’s good to remember that I had that moment during the hike. Thanks. Sincerely! Hope & Holler, class of 2023

Aww I’m sure rushing your summit day wasn’t ideal! But I guess it goes back to the concept of things aren’t going to go like you pictured! Glad to hear you got to have that moment during the hike!
