Stephanie, I'm so pleased I found your video today. I walked the Camino in 2019 aged 68, I was meant to go again in 2020 but the world changed for everyone. Now aged 72 I thought I was too old to go again and follow my dream of walking to the end of the earth (I caught the bus at the end of my last Camino) but now I'm planning on going in 2024. So thank you for sharing your Camino, like you, I will be walking for my parents who both passed since my last Camino. ❤👣👣

I have watched many Camino vlogs and have followed peregrinos on different routes. I can say hands down that yours is the absolute best I’ve seen. The homage you paid to your dad is a testament of the wonderful man he must’ve been. Congratulations for every mile, every tear, all the friends/family you made along the Camino, but most importantly congratulations on finding yourself. I’m in awe of the raw beauty you presented. I will never be able to walk the Camino because of health reasons but I gladly strapped on my virtual backpack to follow you. I’m still wiping tears away. Buen Camino Stephanie from Orlando, Florida.

Maria, you couldn't have explained my feelings better. Stephanie you have a gift! Your documentary allowed us the viewer to be a witness of the love of your dad, your mom (silent in the background) and the family that God placed in your "buen camino." This is, like Maria said, by far the BEST Camino video I have seen. I felt your pain, your love, your tiredness, your heat, your laughter, your struggles but especially the moments of pure joy, wonder and awe. Thank you for bringing us along on your very personal Camino. Thank you for capturing what is the reason for the walk!

The only people I desire to be around are travelers. Travel, especially Camino, is the great equalizer. People just come back to themselves when they're away from the lives they don't like anyway. Every video I see of the Camino shows people being happy, real, dealing with whatever they came to deal with, struggling, smiling, growing, resetting. Thank you for all your hard work on this. No one knows how hard it is to put something like this together until they do it. You are awesome for sharing your life on the Camino with us. Thank you!

I finally got to sit down and watch this. Every video you do you pour your heart out and show your unvarnished self. With that openness you gathered an amazing group of friends around you along the way. As I said in another one of your videos I’m sure your dad is very proud of who you’ve become. When you hit upon the realization of that he meant when he said you have to be able to walk through fire I imagined him saying ‘Yes Mija!’ Un Abrazo from España.

I walked the Northern way in April but had to cut the journey short because my partner was very unwell. My desire to walk the full camino is still deep in my heart and watching your videos made my desire even stronger. Thank you again for sharing your journey and so sorry for your loss. And it seems your father was with you on both journeys. Very touching to see your love for him with each step.

My mother-in-law attempted Camino in 2016 from France and had to stop due to injury. She returned before Covid with her best friend and walked from Portugal to Santiago. I really appreciated this vid-journey as you captured much much more of the esprit and what the journey does and is supposed to do for you. I sent this to My mother in law and would love to hear her thoughts. She belongs to a community of Quebecois who have made the journey and gather a few times a year just to be in each other's company and rejoice in the experience. Thanks to you and this video, I get it, I get why she went. Thank you.

I lost my father 9 years ago, my uncle who was my second dad 7 years and my only sibling, my brother 6 years ago. I have so much pain in my heart. My brother died 2 months short of his 50th birthday. I'm turning 50 next years. I'm planning to do the Camino in April of 2026 in honoring of my brother and to let go of all the pain and baggages on carrying. Thank you for your video.

Where do I start? First, Thank you Stefanie for sharing such a poignant and personal experience and story. Within the first ninety seconds I was hooked, inspired and crushed because,, you see, I am 62 years old and have been working for 33 years for the same company and I loved Emilio Estevez's The Way. So, as you can imagine I found all these similarities with your Dad, then you tell us that he's passed and I went from happy and inspired to feeling sad for our loss. You are an angel and I'm sure your Dad was (and still is) with you during your pilgrimage (s). Walking The Camino De Santiago it's been in my bucket list since I saw the movie and I've watched lots of videos about it, your documentary is unique IMOH because it's an honest narrative of not only your thoughts at every specific place you went through, but also the commentary of your fellow walkers. Even if I don't get to do The Camino, I'll be forever grateful that I watched yours in the entirety and I felt as if I was walking along with you and your group. God Bless you, your Dad and your family. Greeting from Texas!

You had me in the first five minutes at the footage of your father. I wept for him, for you, for all of us who have had the incredible blessing of a loving father. My father was my biggest fan and I miss him every day. Here is a thought for you, a spoken word piece I stumbled upon. Pardon me as I butcher the quote: "Love yourself as they loved you, to honor them.". That seems like an insurmountable task for me; I was so loved. Thank you for sharing your journey. Much love 🙏

Hey Camino Sister! I could not take my eyes off this. You nailed it! You were literally 2 weeks behind me. Great to see the same through different eyes, everything was so fresh and emotive. What a trip, you captured it beautifully - the food, the water, the weather, the food, the peeing, the alberges, the people. I felt every crunch of your steps - in sandals too - you rock! Free the toes. I wore Spanish Army desert boots the whole time and they were heavy.
If I'd have known, I would have waited for you in Samos. So worth the detour. I rested up for two days there, when I rejoined the main camino, I stopped in a café. A german woman and an English bloke were dsicussing their 50k a day stategy. She read a text message from a friend who had taken a wrong turn and was in Samos, what a drag. I said it wasn't so bad, Samos. She shot me a look, as if to say "How dare you even talk to me!" and said she'd done Samos 4 years ago and didn't rate it. Oh well, to each their own Camino.🙂
Your story is so personal, yet at the same, universal. We walk alone but part of one big family. Thank you for sharing.
It's 3:30 am here in Ireland, I'm beat but I had to thank you first, before I sleep. I will go back to Léon this September for a couple of weeks walking, see you along the way. Perhaps we'll meet in Hospital De Órbigo, when you open your alberge there.
P.S. Did you see this Ozzy guy's film? ua-cam.com/video/4dqOI87nSU0/v-deo.html He carried 10 kgs of camera equipment with him. Totally nuts but I'm so glad he did. Again, a very real story.
P.P.S. Did you notice many pelegrino dogs on the camino? I'm think of taking my dog for the short walk I'm planning for September. I remember an alberge in Cée, close to Fisterre, that allowed dogs in the actual dorm. Thanks again for a wonderfully honest and heartfelt film.

I watched your awesome video in February. I enjoyed it so much I decided to also walk the French Camino. I leave Durban, S Africa tomorrow and will start in St Jean on Thursday 25th April, I intend to walk all the way carrying my backpack of 5kg. I will finish at Finisterre 6 weeks later. Thank you for inspiring me to do this epic trip, Stefani! (I also loved your other life in NY videos!)

I'm so happy I found your video! Thank you for this. My mom died last year and it's been hard for me. I'm hoping to move back to Madrid next year to teach English. Now I'm inspired to walk the camino again! I walked it years ago from Avilés to Santiago and it was an amazing experience.

Wonderful video...seeing all the wonderful places I walked by is so wonderful. Thank you. I am coming up on my 10th anniversary of walking from SJPP ( Sept 2013) to Santiago, bussed to Muxia. I carried my brother's ashes and I put them two different places. One same as you. I walked alone but never was alone, as you know. I have always said it was the second most wonderful thing I have done besides having my sons. I walked with MS to prove things to myself. I look back at my strength and pull from it to carry me further with CLL now. I am fine and I keep it moving. I was so blessed to be able to do this journey. And I am so proud. Buen Camino x

Your Camino was very inspiring to us and I’ll be honest I was a little sad when it ended. I look forward to more of your videos but if I could make one suggestion, maybe consider not swearing so much? Your story is too beautiful for that.

Hi Stefanie, loved following your story and i am sorry you had to go through what you went through,.
Next spring, march 16 '24 i'm going on my first cazmino with a similar reason in mind...my father in law who was my best friend past away 2 years ago because of covid. We were talking about doing the camino for years but he didn't get to do it. Next year i will be starting from my home town, at his house, were my mother in laws is living. I live in Ostend, Belgium so i will be walking somewhere between 3 to 4 months.
    Take care, love 🥰

    Hi Stephanie,
Thank you for sharing your personal journey on the Camino. We really enjoyed it & it was well done! Congrats. I really didnt think I would actually watch it(I came upon your vlog actually by chance) because I saw it was +2hrs long. However, it was very interesting for us. We had done the Camino de Santiago in 2016 & it has also been one of our most memorable "vacations"! Again, thanx for the memories.....we are planning to do it again in the near future. Your Dad would be very proud of you & Im sure he was with you in spirit all "the way"
    Great vlog...thanx
    Glenn & Johanne. 😊
