I was searching for motivation for my Camino and your video popped up in my recommendations. Thank you for sharing. Your father’s struggle and perseverance is uplifting. God bless your father and your family. May he Rest In Peace.
I couldnt cotrol my tears when I saw your nephew walking. What a miracle! God answered your father’s prayers. May your father’s soul rest in peace. I am planning the Camino next year. I will be 73 years next year.
What a great man Lou was . Am glad to have known and greatly honoured to be trained by him and to call “mentor “ . He’s greatly missed and “may His memory be eternal “ . He’ll be always remembered as a role model , great father, superb surgeon and scientist and a kind beautiful person with unmatched humanity except for Saints .
Well done, When I was cycling round Spain I did the pilgramage route, there was loads of people skipping out bits. The people you meet along the way is worth the trip alone.
hi from NZ +Australia the miracle of little Ian 10yrs on was what you all made possible, your Dad was King you boys 100% were his rock during his trek, tough in life walking with St James Buen Camino DR Lou
I just finished watching this documentary. I live in Indio, California. I walked my first Camino, and my only one, in 2018; just a few days after having retired from teaching. It had been my desire since 1995, when I first read the book about EL CAMINO by Shirley McClain. I also walked El Camino out of gratitude, just like your dad. I love the story that you shared with us in this documentary. Coincidentally, I met a retired surgeon from Toluca, Mexico. I found many parallels between your dad and this retired surgeon that I just met yesterday. Having finished the documentary, I called this doctor, his name is EFRAIN, and I shared the link. The story that you shared with us is a beautiful one, your father seemed to have been ready and willing to finish his days on this earth. God had better plans for him and allow him to finish, "his camino" and go home to tell about it. El Camino doesn't have to be the whole distance, El Camino is what it is for each one of us. I am glad that you and your brother were able to walk and have this experience with your dad. I am sure, that that will be the one memory that you will hold as the most dear in your heart forever. What a beautiful way to culminate a life of service and goodness like the one that your father lived. You have done good in documenting this experience. Your documentary is beautiful. Without any doubt, your father is happily resting and smiling, and enjoying the fruits and the favors God had had waiting for him. God bless you and your whole family. Respectfully, Jose Rios Aug 2, 2023
I have no doubt that he is very pleased so many people are enjoying his story. Thank you for watching. And congratulations on completing this difficult journey.
On August 4, 2023, This Very Certain Call came to me, telling me to go back for my Camino Francés Experience #2. Now (November 28, 2023), I am sure that this video had a great deal to do with my acceptance to go and live EL CAMINO again. My son, my wife and I will be leaving to El Camino on or around the 27 of June, 2024. All this, with God's approval and help. Blessings!
Such a beautiful story. My sons and I are planning our Camino next year. Your inspiration will fuel our hearts to walk it for more pilgrims to come. God bless you all.
I saw this prior to my walking the Camino Portuguese this past September. I’m the same age as Lou was when he walked! He was certainly an inspiration to me. God bless him.
@@GinoDelGI wasn’t big on many of the traditions of walking the Camino. I never deposited a stone anywhere. I’m a Westchester County resident. I would be pleased to leave a stone on Lou’s grave, in the tradition of our Jewish brothers. That is, if you and your family would allow me. God bless him.
Thank you for this video… It was an honor and privilege to get a glimpse of a wonderful family with a beautiful legacy ! I’m beginning my solo pilgrimage this Sunday. Wish me luck….. Thank you once again. Very inspiring video.
Dear Gloria, thank you for your interest and I’m glad you enjoyed our film. Unfortunately, my dad passed away five years ago. Perhaps you’ll see him along your journey. Good luck.
Watched this with my brother, I want to walk with. Like your father, less the cigar. Ha! This was wonderful video. And priceless got future family members. Thank You. We thoroughly enjoyed!!!
Wow! Loved the story. It has so many layers… you could make a film for sure. What a wonderful experience to walk with your father. He found his miracle, and Ian his health. Your father is in heaven now, with that strong faith, there was no other way.
I have a question Gino, did your father lived to see Ian walk? I’m not sure if the picture at the end of both of them is real or a montage. I read in the comments that he has passed away. I certainly hope that he lived long enough to see Ian walk. And think about it, this is a powerful story of a man of faith and science that found his miracle. And 2 sons that I am sure found themselves. I bet you have a lot more footage than what you present. It is a beautiful love letter to your father, he is, I’m sure very moved and proud of you. Congrats! I’ve been sharing it and I will think about it when I walk in October. I have my own miracle to ask, this story gives me hope.
Yes, my father died when his grandson, Ian, was about 12. Ian adored my father and my father adored him. Ian was and still is able to walk very well without assistance. Good luck on your journey and I hope you find your miracle. God bless.
I’m watching this again after doing the Camino myself. It makes a lot more sense. I got sick, started booking hotels, took a couple of taxis when I was feeling that could not keep walking and made it to Santiago. Once in Santiago I cried rivers asking for mercy, and for a miracle. I am moved to tears by your dad’s story and thank you for this wonderful film.
Congratulations, my father had many awards and diplomas, but the only one he displayed prominently was his certificate for having completed the Camino.@@pmdiazg
What a great story! This should be made into a movie! Thanks be to God miracles do still happen!! Thanks so much for sharing this heart warming journey! It really was a Buen Camino. Blessings !!
My respects to your father and thanks to you for sharing these moments. It’s an honor to know about your father and inspire me more on my Camino next year. Thanks
That was the best Camino story I have heard. I've walked 3 Caminos and planning my 4th for 2024.
Thank you. That’s high praise coming from someone who is planning her fourth. You are a true Perigrino.
What a glorious heart-warming ending. 🙂

There's something about Spain.

Porque no en Español😮?
i think if you cant carry your own pack, then you ought not ask someone elce to ?
TBTG!
Interesting video. Amazing how your father 'knows', without ever having set foot there, that the 'middle part' of Spain is 'boring'. How wrong he is.
That was just his excuse. Glad you enjoyed the film.
Was wonder😢that many were not interested in religion.
