This music video was actually filmed at a fan's house who volunteered for Slipknot to record it in. After they destroyed it, Slipknot gave them $50,000 for the damages.
@danielpalmersheim4252 I'm pretty sure the house was gonna get renovated. I don't know about torn down but I could be wrong. So they definitely helped.
Baby, don't feel pressured to explain everything. So many vibes are speechless. We can rock with you regardless if whether or not Slipknot are your favourite artist. Keep doing what you do.
Fun fact: Earlier this month, Forbes ranked Slipknot as one of the 10 greatest metal bands of all time, coming in at number 7, behind only Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Pantera, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and Metallica.
Thanks for giving Slipknot another try. They are pretty versatile so people can definitely find something they like in their discography. My favorites from them are probably People=Shit, My Plague, Wait and Bleed and probably Spit It Out. I like to put them on when I am frustrated or aggravated at people or life and it's like catharsis. By the time the songs are done I feel a lot better knowing that someone out there can commiserate and can express my feelings better than I can verbalize them myself. I think that is kind of a microcosm of why I like metal so much. It gives a voice to the negative feelings and emotions so that you don't keep them Bottled up inside in an unhealthy way. And gives you a chance to think through them a little better, like therapy. Another solid reaction, thank you again!
I would bet money you would enjoy the song "Snuff" by Slipknot. Lyrically, it is very well written. And there are two versions (music video vs acoustic live), both are good...but I sway toward the acoustic version with Corey alone on stage with a guitar. Even though the instrumentals in the album version/music video are awesome. If you do decide to react to Snuff, I would recommend having the lyrics pulled up while you listen, just in case you miss a word or line. But to me, that song is so well done and really is an honest portrayal/response.
The mask thing is actually pretty interesting. You have to understand that when Slipknot was becoming popular the internet was just becoming a thing, it wasn't like it is today where pictures and videos of practically everything are all over the place. When Slipknot first began making music they always wore their masks, during live shows, in their videos, they even wore the masks during interviews. For a very long time no one knew what these guys looked like. (Apart from perhaps some people locally where the band got started.) The band dropped the video to the song "Before I forget." which is the first video to ever feature them without their masks on, even though the video is shot in such a way to not show their faces it was a huge deal at the time. The band had never been seen unmasked before. This trend continued for a very long time. Even as the internet started to grow, and you started to have the emergence of people cyber stalking celebrities, still Slipknot remained elusive. Eventually as time wore on, the individual band members would be 'unmasked' by side projects and collaboration. Corey Taylor for example is also the lead singer of a band called StoneSour, and their first hit video "Bother" features Corey's face throughout most of the video. Then one of the band members tragically died, and the rest of the band appeared mask-less in an interview for the first time.
@@scarce911 Its great for sure but I think the first experience of that song should be the original. The problem with the video is some scenes stop the music and kills the momentum to me. I think after some time with slipknot, then do the acoustic version.
Volume 3 the subliminal verses is Slipknot's 3rd album. Duality is on it, but during this period Corey Taylor *main vocals* was also in Stone Sour. I'm this album Slipknot found themselves more successful than ever before, and they finally started becoming mainstream
This song is slightly edited, because it had more sections after that ending, like a slowed down riff. Their faces were exposed years ago, but they kept the theme. Corey Taylor (vocals) and Jim Root (guitar) are also in Stone Sour without masks, Joey Jordinson (drums, RIP) was in Murderdolls for a few albums, and Sid Wilson does other DJ work.
I think they never show their faces in music videos and live shows but the lead singer, Corey Taylor, has another band called Stone Sour where he shows his face.
Not a huge Slipknot fan myself but this song/video is legendary metal. Also- you should like whatever you like and at the same time, if you don't like a genre or a band, that's more than fine. Viewers that are angry with you for not liking a band shouldn't be following you. ANd trust me, you'll more than make up with those you lose by just being real and true to yourself.
4:26 most of it is Corey, he's doing a bit of what's known as 'vocal fry' on his voice & just talking really low & pushing more breath at the end of measures. Engineer then puts a lil distortion, adds more than a lil compression, and a low pass filter when mixing, and voila!

It's funny when you realize this song is about just having repeated migraines. Pushing your fingers into the bridge of your nose, between your eyes tends to relieve the pressure.
Thank you for your honest reactions. I appreciate you doing things outside of your comfort zone. May I suggest Slipknot's "Spit it Out" live at Download. Corey fast-raps and works the crowd to an amazing ending. You might feel inclined to use your legs lol!
Another great reaction. This is the song that really pushed them mainstream and blew them up. Id love to see you react to some of their heavier songs from their first 2 albums self titled and iowa. Some recommended songs from those albums.... people = shit, my plague, the hetetic anthem, left behind, (sic), wait and bleed, surfacing, No Life.

Gutteral vocals are something of a "very EXTREMELY aquired taste." Extreme metal (death metal, black metal, grindcore, most metalcore, definitely deathcore), to punk-infused styles like thrash, crossover thrash, and sludge, as well as maybe a lot of nu metal bands (Slipknot, Mudvayne, Tallah).

Not the biggest slipknot fan either but “wait and bleed” is probably my favorite! For the mask bands check out Mushroomhead their masks are next level you’d probably like their song “qwerty” my favorite by them is “we are the truth”
I think you would like “The Devil In I.” It has good dynamics. There are some softer vocals along with some hard vocals where you can experience his range. In the softer side, the lead singer (Corey Taylor) does a live acoustic version of one of their songs called “Snuff” that’s outstanding. Both the live acoustic version and the official video are worth checking out.
Hi, thank you for react again to slipknot 😊❤ nice react, i like corey vocals is a nice vocalist really, he can sing everything, check out the second band for her, its call stone sour ❤🎉
@MiaintheMoment Mia, if you liked "Duality" much more than the previous two songs you reacted to, because it is more melodic, and with less shocking rhythm changes, I think I know what would be the perfect next Slipknot song that you should react to. Without a doubt, "Nero forte". You're going to love it. Apart from this, Corey Taylor is one of the most incredible singers in the history of metal, due to his versatility. The more you listen to Slipknot, the more you will like his voice. And, aside from all this, I've rarely seen anything sexier than you wearing that Metallica t-shirt. I wish all metalheads dressed with such good taste😂
Eyyy try not to let the fans get to ya, I remember being unreasonably angry too on my fav groups behalf when i was young and dumb. Theirs just something that does somethin to your head when you feel like an outcast but have found your people/clan/maggots/etc that makes you raise your hackles at anyone who seemingly "disapproves" of your fav group whether they actually do or dont. Its not "hate" so much as it is a knee-jerk reaction due to historic attacks from the media, government and parental groups (story for another day, look up frank zappa, dee snyder and John denver speeches agaibst the pmrc)--story for another day. But it is what makes metal fans some of the most dedicated and fantastically coordinated fans in music still. As a metal fan I do cherish the reactors that have different views and thoughts on the music I love, it makes for more interesting viewing than the rolling wheel of only positive reactions. Real gutsy of you, keep it up. Maybe check out vermillion pt1 or I am hated. I always felt I am hated was influenced of the 90s more than most slipknot songs. And as a latino to a latina Im wondering if you ever heard of mon laferte?
OK, as a decades long Slipknot fan, I have to be fair here. When their self-titled debut album came out when I was in high school, I have to admit that I was on the fence about it, and I had already been a fan of rock and metal since I was a toddler. It seemed like it was trying too hard to be chaotic and aggressive instead of just naturally letting it flow. Then I cracked the lyric book open, and got my teenage mind blown away by Corey's lyrics. I've been a fan since, and their song writing improved quickly. Since you're still somewhat new to metal, it can be even more jarring; however, with time and evolution of how your ears hear the music, you'll better understand the genius behind it all. They are also an amazing live act. Here's a live version of Spit it Out, which is usually highly suggested: ua-cam.com/video/10BBB0k4h9g/v-deo.html
Duality is one of my absolute favorite Slipknot songs if i had to choose my top 10 songs by them it would probably be way up there. I really love The Heretic Anthem but there's no music video for that one so you could only listen to audio. The Devil In I would be a good choice for a reaction because I love love that song and it has a music video too.
"appearance" maybe? the word you were looking for there was an interview in the early 2000's (the height of casted boy bands) where they stated that music should stand on its own legs without the looks being a part of it (paraphrasing)
You might like "Unsainted," its excellent in terms of the song, and the video is their trademark creepy without any gore. Also, "Before I Forget," which is another banger and in which they appear without costumes or masks. "The Devil In I," is a fantastic song, but the video is...upsetting. Watch that one with extreme caution. "Vermillion," is a really great slower jam with a cool video concept which, just like "Unsainted," has got good creep factor without gore.
So you'd prefer songs off of the subliminal verses album. That's awesome! It's a gateway into their other stuff!! If would so kindly, check out killpop by then next. Heavier, and yet softer at the same time, but will still hear the nice vocals as well!
Please react to a band called (hed)pe, they're metal, punk music infused with hip hop. Songs I suggest are Renegade, Suffa, Blackout, I Got You or their biggest hit Bartender. Thx and keep the great reactions coming.
Metallica would be proud. The thing about Slipknot, is if you go to their earlier catalogue, it is harder, nastier and violent, so you may be put off by the overall aggression. It can be a slow burn for you but you may end up becoming impressed with the earlier days of this band. For all intent and purposes, give 'Purity' a listen... It is dark and wild but it is impressive. Keep going!
Still should react to Stone Sour ( Thru Glass ) you will be like that can not be the same man since singing. It is Cory Taylor other band. My favorite Slipknot is anything off the Iowa album

You have to react to Slipknot's Snuff☺️
A slower song, Vermilion prt2, its pretty nice!.
awesome song, awesome girl, awesome reaction❤
Oh... That Metallica shirt is killing me ❤🤤
Now this song isn’t to bad this is probably the better one of them I’ve heard
Your shirt is so dope!!! Luv ya.
Hi Beauty !
Cool reaction !
👍👍👍💕😎🇸🇪
I'm waiting for this ❤❤❤
"appearance" maybe?
the word you were looking for
there was an interview in the early 2000's (the height of casted boy bands) where they stated that music should stand on its own legs without the looks being a part of it (paraphrasing)
The lead singer shows his face with his alternate band stone sour his name is Corey Taylor
Im surprised you didn't begin with their song Wait and Bleed. That was the song that blew them up. Personally, I like a song called "Surfacing".
The voice thing is called 'vocal fry'
Slipknot..... hmmmm so good❤❤❤❤
you should check out slipknots song called Killpop
Watching you try to explain in the beginning was cute and funny.
Now on to the reaction lol
You need to listen to, Snuff. You will never look at Slipknot the same again. Trust me, react to it you won't be disappointed.
I didn’t know you were a big horror fan babe love it❤
Metallica would be proud.
Hi beautiful
Take you for wearing what you have on❤️.Suoer thanks for reacting to another Slipknot song.
Fan of the masks and horror? Check out Mushroomhead - Soul Is Mine and We Are The Truth.
Check out snuff where Corey Taylor is live, no mask and it will change your mind
Great reaction! You should give some of their newer stuff a listen next. Try the song "Unsainted"
Gotta do song and video for Korn - got the life!
Play the official video for I Remember You from Skid Row. Its from the 80s. You'll love it.
