Master of Puppets, Fade to Black, One, Creeping Death, Holier Than Thou, Sanitarium, Disposable Heroes, Ride The Lightning, For Whom The Bell Tolls, The Four Horseman, Wherever I May Roam, The Unforgiven, Escape, Trapped Under Ice, Sad But True
When you do One, don't do the music video. Do the Lyric version. Then the music video 2nd. The video cuts the song up and scenes over the music. Then do master of puppets with lyrics next. Then fade to black same way. Those 3 songs are anming their best and most famous. And Nothing else matters reaction after those 3 and you'll know who Metallica is n
They are in their 60s and they are indeed touring they come back to the states in April. Their live performances are ridiculous. Moscow, 1991 Seattle, 1989 Anything with Cliff Burton (RIP) Antarctica 2013. Yes, they really played in Antarctica Germany, 2024 it rained so hard They also did two records with the San Francisco Symphony orchestra, and they were both brilliant😊
This was it. This was the song that got my metal journey started. I was 9 years old when This came on MTV back in the day and I have been hooked ever since, learning about new bands, new songs, absorbing all the new riffs into my core memories. Thank you so, so much for this trip down memory lane, I am so glad that it hooked you too! Welcome to the metal family, dude!
Keep in mind that many of their early songs do NOT have accompanying videos. That said, they’re awesome! They’re in their early sixties and still performing at an extremely high level. Wherever I May Roam
YOU HAVE TO SEE "THE WARNING" PERFORM THEIR VERSION OF THIS LIVE. The Warning - ENTER SANDMAN Live at Teatro Metropolitan . METALLICA ASKED THEM TO DO A REMAKE A COUPLE YEARS AGO FOR THEIR BLACKLIST ALBUM. THEY ALSO COVERED THIS WHEN THEY WERE LITTLE GIRLS AND IT WENT VIRAL OVER TEN YEARS AGO ...YOU'VE BEEN WARNED !
They’re still performing. I saw them last summer at MetLife Stadium in NJ. They did a two day concert and one of those nights was on his 60th birthday. They still sounded as great as ever. Definitely worth seeing live. Crowd had lots of people from all ages.
The entire “black” album is awesome, Mia. It’s their self titled album from ‘91. Oh, and check out the live performance of this song in ‘91 in Moscow. It was right after the Soviet Union/communism fell. Supposedly, according to reports at the time, there are over 1 million people in the crowd. It’s crazy!
Mia they are still touring i went to their concert in Minneapolis Minnesota Sunday August 18th experience of a lifetime they kicked ass times ten. You have to see them live. Look up metallica concert dates for future concerts.
There is a bass guitar player goes by the name of Les Claypool. Les auditioned for Metallica when their bass player passed away. Well they told Les he was overqualified for the part and he should start his own band. With that we got Primus...
They just performed in Mexico a month ago with 4 concerts at the stadium. If you wish, you can listen to the song "no leaf clover" 1999 Now the guys are over 60, and they conduct concert activities almost all the time.
First album is from 1983 and still perform, the best version of Enter Sadman is live in moscow front at 1.6 millions people's who have first experience with Heavy metal concert after wall of Berlin fall. You lobe drum then lessen from Metallica Battery live with san francisco Orchestra
The album Master of Puppets is preserved in the Library of Congress for it's profound impact on music. It's the only metal album in the Library of Congress. That said I recommend Master of Puppets next. It's the accompanying song to the album title
This song will always remind me of being a kid and being dragged to one of my dads parties. He and his friends would get drunk, play D&D and blast Metallica all night, and I'd fall asleep on the couch 5 feet from the speakers as this song was playing on 11.
"Sad but true" "Turn the page" "Disposable heroes" live in Mexiko "Nothing else matters" "Wherever i may roam" "Fade to black" live in Nebraska "Lux Æterna" "Whiskey in the jar" "The day that never comes" live in Nimes
Metallica was formed in 1981, they first found commercial success with their third album, Master of Puppets (1986), which is considered as one of their heaviest metal albums and the band's best work.
And thus, a new metalhead was born... Can't wait till you hear their song One if you like drums. Probably my favorite song all time. Just be aware, the subject matter is heavy, you might cry. It's about war and injured soldiers. But don't miss it, it will change your life.
You should definitely listen to their earlier stuff when they had this bad ass bass player named Cliff, that's definitely their harder more thrash metal stuff . I think those first 3 albums are CLASSICS - Kill 'em All, Ride the lightning and Master of Puppets. Listen to songs from those albums and you're definitely listening to a different Metallica than from the Metallica that you have reacted to. In those albums they're younger and the music feels more aggressive, you'd definitely have many of those songs on your gym playlist. I totally forgot about "And Justice for All".
This album came out right around the year. My older sister was born. And man oh man, my jealous I wish I could just go back in time to know what it was like when this album first came out. I heard it was insane. I even saw footage of people lined up late at night waiting for a record store to open. I mean, the black album became one of their most best selling and most legendary albums of their entire career. And they toured nonstop for 3 1/2 years.
I grew up in a Pentecostal church and school cult. We weren’t allowed to listen to secular music, or have or watch tv. In my early teens, or course I smuggled a Walkman cassette player into my room. I listened to pop radio, and maybe some oldies rock radio. Then in 87-88, my non-cult family visited from godless California 😂. We lived in Iowa. My cousin gave me a copy of Gun N Roses’ Appetite For Destruction. It changed my music direction immediately. Then my dad trashed it. A few years later, another cousin from another part of California visited right after this album came out. He gave me a copy of it. Again, it changed my sheltered fundamentalist life. In 1993, Metallica was my first ever non-southern gospel concert. It was so eye opening. In 95 I saw Ozzy, then no more metal concerts until 2019. My son had found my very first mp3 player on an archeological dig in the boxes in the basement, and fell in love with Metallica and Pantera. So much so he bought his own guitar of FB marketplace and taught himself how to play. In 19 for his 16th birthday, we bought him a used Les Paul guitar and Spider Amp, and tickets for me and him to go see Metallica. That was 5 years ago. Yes , they’re still rocking and put on phenomenal shows. But im making up for all the lost time as a kid and go to see smaller bands at more intimate venues. You must go. A Metallica is a good starting point. Generally speaking, metalheads are kind and caring of others around them. You’d have a blast. I say metal shows are my church, without all the religious nonsense. 😂
I apperciate you being so open to harder rock, You should also check out these songs from their first few albums, Hit The Lights (First Album), For Whom The Bell Tolls (Second Album), Master Of Puppets (3rd album), One (4th Album).
VAN HALEN (rabbit hole - u’ll b glad u did) - Aint Talking ‘Bout Love - Feel Your Love Tonight - Ice Cream Man - You’re No Good - Somebody Get Me a Doctor - Bottoms Up - Outta Love Again - D.O.A. - Women In Love - Beautiful Girls - Mean Street - Dirty Movies - Hear About It Later - Unchained - So This Is Love? - Everybody Wants Some - Take Your Whiskey Home - Could This Be Magic - In A Simple Rhyme - Secrets - Little Guitars (intro to) / Little Guitars (listen to them together - then it’ll make sense) - The Full Bug - Happy Trails (this is a fun one) - Poundcake - Black and Blue - Top Jimmy - Drop Dead Legs - I’ll Wait - The Seventh Seal
These guys are old at this point, but they're still together, and they still tour. Their shows are still amazing from what I understand; they still fill stadiums. The band formed in L.A. in 1981. This song came out in 1991; they released their 11th studio record last year. The music gets faster and heavier as you go backwards in their catalogue...don't know if that sounds appealing or not. There's a ton of good music to check out if you like 'em, though Ciao...
This was the album that introduced me to Metallica way back in 1992. A lot of their "fans" turned their back on them when this album dropped, as it was a departure in style from their first 4 albums. IMHO, this is sonically their best album. You hear ALL the instruments. Their best body of work is a tie between 1984's - Ride The Lightning & 1986's - Master of Puppets. I took my son two years ago for his very first concert; making that my 11th Metallica show. Not one time in all of those years have I left a show disappointed. If you want a great solo from this album, look no further than; The Struggle Within. Absolute ripper! Fun fact: The child you hear reciting the prayer "Now I lay me down to sleep" is the son of producer, Bob Rock.
Singer (Hetfield), drummer (Ulrich) and bassist (Newsted) were born in 1963 making them 61 as of 2024. Only the lead guitarist (Hammett, with black hair) is one year older. This was my first Metallica song. Been hooked ever since.
And yes, they are still performing and they bring in huge amount of money and sell out arenas in minutes. Though as of 2003 they have a different bassist.
Love these guys been a fan for like 40 yrs. You were talking bout their hair? A few yrs ago my 27 yr old son n I went to see them n it was the first time my hair was longer then theirs lol😂. N yes they are still touring.
For Whom The Bell Tolls - Metallica. It's the intro song for the 2009 movie Zombieland. It was also a last request song for a friend of mine that passed away. He requested that his friends and band mates play it at his church live for everyone. It was awesome. First time I walked into church, and it felt like going to a Metal show. The Acoustics were so choice. Very Rad. Super Sick. Just Awesome of the church too to let them do it. R.I.P Christian.
To me, their live performances are best. I like the "Nimes" concert. High production value, excellent video coverage, great sound quality. The guys are in top form, not missing a lick. Great reactions.
Mia still doesn't realize that when this video was filmed waaaay back in 1992 *this was considered a 'gym body' for men!* If you worked out in the early 90s, the sleek swimmer's body was the ideal physique for men to have. Guys didn't start getting jacked until the late 2000s when the UFC took off (thank you, Brock Lesnar) and reliable gear became easy and safe to order online
What bro??? Guys were getting jacked even way before Arnold S. was a thing. Brock & UFC didn't have much to say about any of that. If anything, thats when the cali ear started taking off.
This is one of those songs they played on mtv literally every half an hour back in the day… The entire album is great. I personally like dont tread on me.
Awesome reaction as always Mia. Hell yeah they still perform. React to Enter Sandman live in Russia. Insane! 1.6 MILLION people at the concert. I GUARANTEE you've never seen ANYTHING like it!
@@williamreiser3118 I was 11 and somehow my best friend ordered the album from one of the old Metal magazines. Just freaking blew us away never heard anything like it. Master of Puppets was released in March of 1986 and I went to my first concert in August of 1986, I was 14. For 20 dollars I saw Metallica open for Ozzy on the Ultimate Sin Tour. I was close enough to feel the heat from the pyro on stage. The most magical thing though was seeing Cliff Burton play Anesthesia. I will never forget that and will also never forget a month later my friend calling me to tell me Cliff had been killed. To me one the most tragic losses in Metal next to Randy Rhoads.
More Metallica! If you want insane, do the same song in Moscow in the early 90s. They were part of the Monsters of Rock tour with AC/DC headlining an insane outdoor show on a Russian air base with 1.6 million crazed fans going nuts! Enjoy. 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎶🔥
You should check out The Warning's totally reimagined version of *Enter Sandman* LIVE at Pepsi Center, CDMX, from their tenth anniversary show. It will blow you away! In 2014, as LITTLE KIDS, three Mexican sisters recorded a straight cover of *Enter Sandman.* They put it on their UA-cam channel for their grandparents to see. It's only got about 26 MILLION hits! In 2021, they teamed up with Alessia Cara of Canada to rearrange the song for Metallica's *Black List* album, a 30th anniversary celebration of the *Black* album. The Pepsi Center version has a ten-piece string section accompanying the band...
Metallica’s first album “Kill’Em All” came out in 1983 and they started the heavy metal thrash genre (among a few others), they still tour which I saw at SoFi Stadium in LA with Pantera and Mammoth WVH and they still kill it! Gotta be in the snake pit for your first time!
Metallica got the riff for the song from this Finnish thrash metal pioneer Stone's song: "Stone - Get Stoned". There's also an interview in which Lars Ulrich meets the members from Stone: "Metallica & Stone @ Rockstop 1988 (Finnish television)". In 1996, a Finnish band Apocalyptica released an album on which they covered Metallica's songs with four cellos: "Apocalyptica - 'Enter Sandman' (Official Video)". Here Metallica performs with them: "James Hetfield with Apocalyptica One LIVE San Francisco, USA 2011-12-05 1080p FULL HD". Stone was inspiration for many Finnish metal bands and the guitarist Roope Latvala from the band played also E.g. in Children of Bodom: "Children Of Bodom - In Your Face".
check out Fade to black, For whom the bell tolls, master of puppets, one, whiplash, battery, creeping death, and wherever i may roam. Need more METALLICA!
When people say things like, "How have you never heard this? That's impossible." Those people don't understand how big and diverse the world is. What's ubiquitous in one area and culture, isn't in another. We metalheads tend to be very metalcentric to a massive fault, and forget we're not the center of the universe. Lol
Metallica is still touring... Tour dates in 2025 in stadiums across USA, starting on April 12 in Las Vegas... ending on June 29 in Denver, Colorado... the current line-up is: James Hefield (vocals/ guitar), Lars Ulrich (drums), Kirk Hammett (lead guitar) and Robert Trujillo (bass) "Enter Sandman" was the first single from Metallica's 5th self-titled album in 1991 (aka the 'black album') which has sold 17 million copies in the US to date and is their biggest record. Quite a few Metallica fans were upset that the 5th album was not as aggressive and fast as their previous 4 albums... but Metallica gained a huge, new audience who were not typically fans of heavy metal music... Of course, when Metallica cut their hair in 1996 and released 2 laid back albums 'Load' ... and 'Reload' in 1997... Fans were furious and called them 'Alternica' at the time ... and they even had country & southern rock songs on those records. Metallica were in their early 20's and raging in 1983 when the released their debut album "Kill 'em all"... a sonically fast and brutal record in the thrash metal genre... It was followed up by an even more intense and furious thrash metal album 'Ride the Lightning' in 1984. Signing w/ major label Elektra Records, Metallica released their 3rd album 'Master of Puppets' in 1986, which is a fan favorite and became their first gold selling record (half million copies) in the US. However, tragedy struck on tour in 1986 when Cliff Burton (bass) was killed in a tour bus accident at age 24... A devastated (and drunk) Metallica continued touring w/ bassist Jason Newsted. Their 4th album 'And justice for all'... was released in 1988 and it sold 2x platinum and charted in the US top 10 (8x platinum now) as Metallica also released their first music video for the track 'One' in 1989. Their 5th self-titled album took a year to complete, cost $1 Million to produce... and was their first #1 charting album... 5 music videos were released from it ('Enter Sandman'... 'The Unforgiven' ... 'Wherever I may roam'... 'Sad but true'... and 'Nothing else matters') and Metallica toured relentlessly from 1991 to 1994.
All your reactions have been great so far. I'm from Minnesota. Let's get some Prince. Maybe his cover of "Come Together" from Coachella. Come on Mia. You're killing me here.
Beautiful I've been into this band since I was 21 in 1983 I've seen them live a couple times I love the 80s Metallica the best they had a dry spell where the album's word is good after this album called The Black album that this song was off of then Death magnetic on up which also included hardwired to self destruct and 72 seasons they were back to normal
Love love love Enter Sandman the first metal song i ever heard my dad got me into Heavy Metal. Oh btw Mia if u want a truly insane song to react to u should look up Through the fire & the Flames by DragonForce the drummer is certifiably insane wit how fast he plays not a lot of bands could cover that song i think youll love it keep it metal my friend u are so beautiful as always ❤
Now that you've watched the original, you should check out The Warning’s reimagined cover of "Enter Sandman." This band, made up of three Gen Z sisters from Monterrey, Mexico-Ale, Pau, and Dany-was asked in 2021 to create their own version of the song alongside Canadian pop singer Alessia Cara for *The Metallica Blacklist* album, celebrating the 30th anniversary of *The Black Album*. There's an official music video featuring Alessia, and they’ve done several amazing live performances of the song. While Alessia’s "oh-oh-oh-oh" vocals are still used on the backing track, she doesn’t usually perform live with them. However, they did perform the song live with Alessia once, but that was a one-time event. One of their best live performances is from their 10th anniversary concert at the Pepsi Center in Mexico City in 2023. At the time, Ale was 18, Pau was 21, and Dany was 23. For this show, they added a string ensemble, giving the song a totally epic sound that’s worth checking out.
Metallica. Wherever I May Roam. Banger
Yes
Never heard this song before, just listened to it. Thank you
You need to watch their first concert in Russia. 1.6 million people in attendance!!!
Let’s go, be awsome see you react to them in Russia in 91 but this will do . Keep the great content up..
💀Creeping Death💀 too in the same concert rocks 🤘🏽
Lives are not always, or even usually, better sound than the studio versions.
It would just be a reaction to the event rather than the song itself.
They are in their 60s and they are indeed touring they come back to the states in April. Their live performances are ridiculous.
Moscow, 1991
Seattle, 1989
Anything with Cliff Burton (RIP)
Antarctica 2013. Yes, they really played in Antarctica
Germany, 2024 it rained so hard
They also did two records with the San Francisco Symphony orchestra, and they were both brilliant😊
They're still touring and in fact the shows are epic even today.
NEVER to late to find good music! I was just fortunate enough to grow up in these era's!
This was it. This was the song that got my metal journey started. I was 9 years old when This came on MTV back in the day and I have been hooked ever since, learning about new bands, new songs, absorbing all the new riffs into my core memories. Since you like Metallica and drums so much, next recommendation is their song "One"
I agree 🔥🤘🏽🔥
Now That We're Dead is a good sign for drums from them.
Gotta react to their #1 song "Master Of Puppets" ... girl you are not ready !!!!!!!!!
Seattle 1989
Such a beautiful soul and amazing reactions
I actually got to go see them in concert for the release of the black album. March 7th 1992. I was 17 and it was an awesome concert
You could try the live version from Moscow 1990; There were an estimated 1.6 million people in the audience.
They’re still performing. I saw them last summer at MetLife Stadium in NJ. They did a two day concert and one of those nights was on his 60th birthday. They still sounded as great as ever. Definitely worth seeing live. Crowd had lots of people from all ages.

I loved your reaction to the guitar solo!! Metal goosebumps 🤙🏼 They are definitely still touring
Rock on!
Once you rewind a guitar solo, you've pretty much become a metalhead. XD
"Sad but True" is probably the best choice for follow-up song. \m/
It looks like Metallica performs in Houston TX June 14th next year. The original members are in their early sixties.
I saw them last month. two shows, completely different setlists. Incredible.

METALLICA -ONE
Music Video, lyrics will blow your mind.
I remember this song blasting in the locker room before every football game in high school back in the 90’s.
they are in their 60's now. They still put on an great show. They are obviously older and more laid back, but they still sell out stadiums.
I enjoy every reaction of yours I've seen thus far Mia.
They still perform as a matter of fact they'll be on tour till later next year and they are in their 60s still rocking
The entire “black” album is awesome, Mia. It’s their self titled album from ‘91. Oh, and check out the live performance of this song in ‘91 in Moscow. They just performed in Mexico a month ago with 4 concerts at the stadium.

Now the guys are over 60, and they conduct concert activities almost all the time.

4:22 It's never too late in music, these bands are legendary and timeless, it's great that you're getting to know them 👍
10/10 review. Concerts are bangers. Seen them 4 × throughout the years. Easily the best live shows that I've been to. They don't disappoint

Metallica has sold more than 125 million records worldwide. Enter Sandman is a classic and your reactions are so positive.
Great reaction, Mia. "Sad But True" and "Whiskey In The Jar" are another couple of great songs from Metallica.
This is one of those songs they played on mtv literally every half an hour back in the day… The entire album is great. I personally like dont tread on me.
They will be in Houston in the summer of 2025. Let us go!!
Shoutout to Kirk Hammett the lead guitarist. He wrote the main riff in this song and he was excellent when I saw them last year in Arlington. 🎸😃
All I can say is MOREEEEEE plz, I already ate up most of your content already!!
Pulling up to the store to go in but Enter Sandman is playing.....wait until it ends!
Awesome reaction as always Mia. Hell yeah they still perform. React to Enter Sandman live in Russia. Insane! 1.6 MILLION people at the concert. I GUARANTEE you've never seen ANYTHING like it!
”Hail to the king“ and ”Shepherd of fire“ by Avenged Sevenfold are two great songs
They're still performing, in their 60's.
Need to see the Moscow version of this song. They had 1.6 million fans there
Metallica first album released in 1983 and yes still performing. They are a fantastic live band go see them for sure.
Man I bought them all when I was 21 1983 summer
Look this song up live in Moscow there was 1.6 million people at the concert!!
They are on tour right now
You've got to see this live from Moscow 1991
lol they are still performing but they still look like they are in their prime and they perform like every year and they are in their 60’s
Like my age early 60's they're touring 72 seasons album now by the way that album kicks ass
Thank u for the review
Lol
You have to do the 1991 Moscow version with 1.6 million people in attendance
She never knew it, but she is a rocker...fo sho..
when i was pregnant with my son in 2009 , i would sing this to my stomach to settle Michael, that is what I named him, so I could go to sleep.
I'm happy you have found the mighty Met🤘
One of the classig guitar riffs. The Russia concert (Monsters of Rock) really is worth checking out, the crowd is insane!
Awesome jam, they use it alot in sporting events this song yeah 🤘😆🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🎸🎸🎤🥁
Metallica is still touring... Tour dates in 2025 in stadiums across USA, starting on April 12 in Las Vegas... ending on June 29 in Denver, Colorado... the current line-up is: James Hefield (vocals/ guitar), Lars Ulrich (drums), Kirk Hammett (lead guitar) and Robert Trujillo (bass)
"Enter Sandman" was the first single from Metallica's 5th self-titled album in 1991 (aka the 'black album') which has sold 17 million copies in the US to date and is their biggest record.
Metallica is still touring, I went and saw them last year and they put on a amazing show!
You’ve just hit the tip of the iceberg, gorgeous
