Then my boy introduced me to Slipknot in 1999 and they've been my favorite band ever since. I subscribed and hit the Bell just for the fact that you guys react to so much Slipknot. Y'all reaction is amazing, keep up the great videos.
The house was in Des Moines, Iowa. Where Slipknot is from. They rented it to do the video. Invited about 350 fans, referred to lovingly as maggots, to come listen to the song, which hadn't been heard by the public yet. It was the only song they played the entire time. Fans all the way from the Ukraine came to it. Production for the video was about 300-500k. However, the destruction caused. Put the budget over a million. As the band was held responsible for the repairs. Slipknot has kinda been that release for the angst ridden person. That has that anger bubbling in them, but doesn't have the right way to let it out. This song is about trying to deal with that and the pain of feeling alone and unheard. Something most teens feel and feel alienated about.
I always heard it was a friend's property and they knew what was going to happen. They asked people to destroy it. Doesn't change what you said but it's not quite as sensational to hear all the details. 🤷♂️

It was getting renovated and needed tearing apart, the label paid $50,000 to the guy for the renovation costs in exchange for letting Slipknot and the Maggots tear it to shreds!
Your girl got it right they announced on the radio that they were going to do the show any fan was welcome to come an everyone was told to wait outside and when the music started to get inside and watch the house was going to get a remodel anyway.
A fan offered his house, because he was going to remodel for $10,000. So Slipknot put it out there for 100 fans to show up.... over 1000 fans showed up and caused over $50,000 in damages! Slipknot over paid the Faithful follower, who offered his Crib!

You know which channel I think is super underrated? Metal Piano Music. The guy spends weeks composing classic metal songs into classical/relaxing piano pieces and he hardly gets any views. That dude deserves millions of followers 🤷

This video is great, like they bought a dilapidated house on the outskirts of Des Moines, invited fans for a free video shoot and let 'em tear it to the ground, too cool.
They didn't buy the house, a fan was renovating it and let them shoot the video in the house also they weren't supposed to do any major damage to the house but alot of fans ended up doing it anyways, in the end Corey paid the owner of the house for the damages.
Also love that there was a young fan from the UK who found out about the shoot, and turned up to the US using borrowed money from his grandmother, and as he had no where to stay Corey paid for a hotel for him
You remind me of my best friend Bryant (RIP Brother) Who passed away 5 or so years ago. He was a blast to hang out with. I'm a total white guy and he was a brother to the core. Two totally different walks of life and color who pushed it to the edge. I miss that Brother everyday. He OD'd on Fentanyl when I was on a trip to Texas and on my way home I got a phone call just before I boarded my flight home. I held it together till I got home then walked into a dark quiet empty house. I lost my shit and did not leave my house for a week. Shitty part was he never really messed with that kind of stuff. The whole thing sucks.....
