As a fellow Asian-American, you inspire me to live rather than exist. I'm committed to work 1 more year then I'll be 50 and financially set to retire responsibly. Thank you for your videos and education. I've been searching for my, "perfect" vehicle. Surely many trips to HF...

Non-stick frying pans usually aren’t non-stick. I got hungry watching you prepare that dish. It brought back memories of Dad, my older brother, and me camping with the station wagon back in the mid-1950’s. Our staple was wieners and beans.

Thanks for the sanity break from the world around us all these days. You certainly have a calmness about everything to say and do. The whole world should take your lead and chill with Explorer Steve. Great music in the background for such a beautiful campground. Looking forward to more of your recipes, projects and travels. Happy trails to you Steve!

I also watch Matt's Offroad Recovery.
I grew up driving in the sand at the beach. While I tend to be a little smug about those newbs that sink their cars out where he rescues them, I can say from personal experience that the sand in Utah is different than beach sand. A few yeas back I got my Jeep Wrangler stuck in the Coral Pink Sand dunes outside of Kanab. The only way I was able to get unstuck is that I have years of experience driving in sand and was able finagle my way out.
I think the main lesson to take away from going to remote locations is to not be afraid to turn around and go back when it gets too rough.

I'm not sure what I like more, driving/route, being outdoors, or the camp tinkering? I guess it's a combination. On a side note, I periodically tie about 2 ft of yellow caution tape to the center of the guidewires to help me avoid them. They don't take up a lot of space & are reusable. Sláinte

When you go to Arizona - if you do go to the Cinders in Flagstaff stay on the hardpack main "road" - without 4 wheel drive you really would get stuck if you venture too far off of it; and if you like kayaking it is worth the drive to Canyon Lake.

Hello Steve, why are you favoring your SUV instead of your RV?
I hope the uncooked egg doesn’t give you salmonella poisoning.
I enjoy your little adventures, thank you for sharing.

It’s a common dish to eat lol the chances of getting salmonella from a fully raw egg are low, this is basically non existent

Guarantee that Toyota 4runner gets better gas mileage than the Dodge van.

Since the "thing" took over, I keep to weekending. Sites can get crowded so I like to get past the car campers and find some solitude. The higher ground clearance does that for me. Cheaper gas. I like to try out my build and improve on it. so it is the flavor of the month. I am still alive.
