Thank you. I’m a personal trainer but I’m embarking on this new journey. I’m excited
Thanks Justina! I love your shoot from the hip gangster style of your overview on tips of teaching online fitness classes. You and I would def get along! Had me laughing....do yur thing girl!
Hahaha happy you enjoyed Bonnie!
Extremely helpful!! Thank you! I'm preparing my first big class and this took out a LOT of guess work.
So happy to help!
Hi Justina! I love your video tips!! I am a personal trainer just starting online. I start my first class July 1! Your Zoom video tips and wix website tips have been so helpful the past few months as I’ve been preparing!!
You are seriously the best Justina!!!! This is SO helpful! Thank you!!
So happy you enjoyed!
Yes, she is the best. She is like your most trustworthy friend you can always rely on. ❤
Great concise tips! I especially love the contrasting colors idea and white board idea because I think I struggle the most with memorizing moves since I’m new to video classes!
If you have extra money to spend, the Rode Wireless GO is a game changer for wireless mics!
I actually have the Wireless Go and love it! But I use it to film as I'm teaching so I'm double mic-ed :)
Thank you. I like direct information.
Glad it was helpful!
I'm preparing my first class! Very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
This is invaluable information! Thank you so much for making these videos! I’m starting to make a plan for online teaching Pilates and strength training (yoga soon too) I’ve really just been doing UA-cam workouts since April. We used mind body at the studio I used to teach at, and the software is so clunky, haven’t tried it yet for virtual classes. I’ve also been getting a lot of ads for Moxie, ever heard of them? Seems like they are almost like mindbody but just for virtual teaching!
So happy you found it helpful! I haven't heard of Moxie but it might be a good option. I'll look into it :)
@@JustinaErcole I’ve gotten a lot of ads on Facebook and Instagram, but it looks like an all in one booking and hosting platform for virtual fitness
Great tips!
Glad it was helpful!
thank you! I'm teaching pilates specifically for nurses/ healthcare professionals.
That's great!
Excellent video.
Glad you liked it!
Love it 🥰
Thanks!
Oh u r a captain America fan too, that shield looked marvelous and looked not married ..
Hahah technically my husband is the Cap fan. I'm more of a Tony Stark girl :)
Thanks for all of your videos - very informative! Maybe this is obvious, but I use an ethernet cable (with adapter) so that I don't have to rely on Wifi.
Great option for those who can be close enough to their router. Thanks for sharing!
@@JustinaErcole The one I bought is about 50 feet long (I should have mentioned that).
Teaching handstands class! Thanks
Ooh sounds like fun!
Excellent video! I will be teaching barre classes.
Just wondering what you use for music? Loved the Disney remix on Friday. Are you using Spotify or another music service? I have heard that the music companies sometimes go after people for broadcasting music. Have you used or know anyone that uses a “stock music” service and which ones might be better?
Thanks, T
Thanks Tamara! You can purchase a music license thru a company like ASCAP. It's actually pretty affordable for the year. But my fave place for "stock music" is Hello Thematic. Hope that helps!
its starting to feel like normal is something we will never see again..hi from Ireland..same story here :-) Im thinking about opening a reformer pilates studio next year! omg I wonder could I take any of your classes..dance cardio sounds amazing but with time differences Im not sure.
Hey Sarah! That's amazing that you want to open a studio. If I'm ever in Ireland I'll definitely look you up :) And hopefully the time difference will work out one time. Hop into class for free with the code UA-cam
@@JustinaErcole awh thats so kind🙏
I am a yoga instructor. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this. We could NOT figure out the sound.
So happy it helped!
Another awesome video, Justina! I was wondering -- what's the white clip-on mic (I assume) you're using now?
Thanks Shannon! It's the Rode Wireless Mic and I LOVEEEE it!
@@JustinaErcole I thought that might be it. Good to know -- thank you!
@@JustinaErcole I've been hearing that the Rode Wireless mic is a good option. How is the audio transmitted from the mic into the camera? Does it come with a Rode Wireless receiver of sorts?
Hi Justina... first off, you're definitely my people with the straightforward way you describe everything (expletives included... ha ha) and I love the information you're providing. Question- what do you use as far as a camera goes... phone? Laptop? Actual camera? I'd like to do the most with the least, particularly to start, but don't want it to come across as unprofessional/rinky dink, either. I"m considering doing cycling classes via Zoom, so I'm not moving around at all, but am wondering the best camera, and also SOUND, so that it doesn't sound like an AM radio on the other side. I know very little about ZOOM but I think you can do sound sharing that makes it better on the other side? Thank you so much for your info- it's invaluable.
Hey, so happy you found this helpful! For my camera during class, I use the one directly on my macbook pro. It gets the job done. When I film for on demand I use my canon g7x. You have a lot of options for sound and it really depends on how much money you want to spend. I use powerbeats or powerbeats pro and they work very well. The audio could be better with my wireless instructor mic and a small mixer, but I don't want my neighbors to kill me haha.
I made two videos regarding teaching online using zoom below:
ua-cam.com/video/FiH0olJuw38/v-deo.html
ua-cam.com/video/unw8bLUgXJ8/v-deo.html
Hope they help!
@@JustinaErcole - awesome. thanks for the info on the camera- most helpful. And I get it with the mic/mixer and neighbors. One thing I'm curious about... are the earbuds an earbud/microphone combo, or area they just standalone earbuds, and you have a mic elsewhere? I've been researching the earbuds you suggested, and can't tell if there's also a mic attached. Oh... and if you and your husband are ever out in CO and want to check out some awesome mountain biking...let me know- it's what I do!!
@@MrDavemac88 Yep they have a mic built in. And we love CO so I would love to take you up on that one day!
@@JustinaErcole - please do! And thank you so much for your help!
I need a laptop stand!!thanks
Hey love the video I’m in New Zealand and I’m 19 and managing an entire gym on my own but I really am looking at moving online soon but I’m unable to find the websight for talent hack do you have a link?
Oh they sold their company and gave everyone 30 days notice. The owner was a total piece of 💩 and left a everyone without a place to host their businesses.
Indoor cycling - since pandemic yoga trapeze -- thank you so much for this. I'm now using Talent Hack due to your suggestion. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.
Love that!
Hey Justina, I would like to know what kind of music are you using when you teach on Zoom. I am having a hard time figuring out music licensing rules. Thanks for your input!
Hi Iveta, I play directly from my Spotify account because I pay for a music license. The most popular ones as ASCAP and BMI. If you don't want to pay that fee, you'll need to use copyright free music. My favorite place to find that is on hellothematic but you can also use paid services like epidemic sound. Hope that helps!
@@JustinaErcole Thank you very much. Also, can you tell me exactly what type of music license do I need for streaming classes on Zoom? And how do you acquire them, how long does it take to get them and how much they cost? I don't think I will be making videos, so I don't think I need synchronization license, but my head is already spinning from all the info out there. Sorry for all these questions, and thank you so much for your help
@@JustinaErcole I figured I will probably need both ASCAP and BMI, since it's super time consuming to search up where all the performers and writers belong...
@@ivetaboykin6867 When purchasing mine, I actually contacted each company and talked with someone about what exactly I would need since it's all very confusing. So I definitely recommend doing that!
Hey, I want to add more instructors and styles to my fitness app but have no clue how to do that cost wise. I want the instructors to be compensated while owning the content the put on my app..
Hey! Since I don't know your app, business, hosting platform, compensation platform, workouts, etc. it's hard for me to give you any specific advice. Sorry!
8:53 is that an overlay during your live? if so, what are you using?
Yes! It's a program called IntervalCam. They were kind enough to let me try it out for the week.
Hi I teach HIIT and Yoga classes via ZOOM. Since the begining of the lockdown I was experimenting with few softwares and I managed to: embed overlay of the exercises names, interval timer, time left for the whole workout, two separate HD cameras (that are actually my two mobile phones streaming via WiFi) and music from soundcloud directly into the stream. I can stream directly to facebook or youtube should decide to while teaching in zoom (only my camera view). Now the catch is I controll everything from my third mobile device that suites me as remote and I can switch between cameras, pause/play the music, change different screens - things like that. You can see a live sample here:
ua-cam.com/video/kTf9c5ISSmU/v-deo.html
I'll be happy to share if it of any use for you guys cause it's basicly all done with a cheap or free software, but takes time. Cheers!
Mam pls tell me how to find students in online . Iam teaching yoga so pls help me mam
Hi Justina, I am looking for a video camera to improve my live stream and UA-cam videos.
What would you recommend? Thanks
Hey! I’m honestly not a tech guru so I would recommend checking out Think Media for their insight. But I have two cameras: canon g7x mark 3 and canon rebel t5i.
@@JustinaErcole thank you I will check them out. Love your channel it looks fab 👍
Do you recommend a "Mixer" for better sound on zoom. If so, can you recommend a mixer . Thank you
100%! I don’t use one but I’ve seen a lot of other videos breaking that down.
Hi, thanks for info, question.. Do I need headphones?
If you’re sharing your computer sound or teaching far from your computer, I highly recommend it!
Teaching yoga and HIIT
Love it!
Lucky for me I don’t have a cat 🐱
I laughed of your joke back to normal
Glad someone else finds me funny :)
