Would it be possible for you to record an actual virtual session so we can see exactly how to go about leading one? I really enjoyed your live session demonstrations and feel a virtual version of it would really benefit those who are trying to transition into virtual training. Thank you for putting amazing content btw!
I had been into fitness since 1990 but never used the innovative idea of virtual training but your video encouraged me to start online training now! Thank you for your contribution to empowering trainers around the world. Stay blessed always
I sincerely appreciate your content man! You do outstanding work and provide so much value!! Thank you tremendously!! I’m learning so much from your content!!
I like the fact that you remind me to like the video in the filming.....sometimes I just forgot....thanks for the reminder. Love this channel, we need to get it to go viral.
Good Video! As a trainer I agree that its not ideal to have clients who want to build strength who are virtual but do believe it is possible to gain a substantial amount of strength even from home if the right exercises are chosen. Ex. Most people are not able to do a pistol squat because they take a substantial amount of strength as well as mobility flexibility etc. but if you can master doing 10 reps of a pistol squat from home, that will have a huge carryover to squatting exercises in the gym. Even something like Archer pushups and weighted pull-ups require minimal equipment but have massive carryover to gym exercises. Essentially I agree with what your saying but I do believe you can get very strong using only at home workouts if you know what you are doing.
I agree! Good points! It’s definitely possible to get a lot stronger working out at home. It’s just significantly more difficult when working with certain types of clients
I would start by downloading Zoom or Skype to your chromebook. You can send meeting invitations directly from your dashboard on those platforms. As far as training goes, you’ll want to set your computer up in a space where you can demonstrate exercises (if you’re doing virtual training) and the person/people on the other end can see and hear you clearly,
Hi sir, as a personal trainer how to keep clients coming back even if they got their dream body? Please suggest or create a video on this topic if you think this is an important topic. Thanks 😊
Honestly, I’ve never had a client who got really good results with me stop training. They pretty much always stay working with me for maintenance. So there might be a good topic here but we might change it to something like “ How to keep your personal training clients” and then put in a section for clients who have achieved their goals.
Jeff since I am doing virtual personal training, I am not limited by location. I am focusing on the US only at this time, though. My question is, do I keep my rates the same for whether I'm working with a client in semi rural NC or Orange County? Do I adjust my rates for where the client is located?
Hi Jeff! I appreciate the content you are providing as it helps me look at personal training from a different perspective.🙏🏻 My question is regarding virtual group training. If you have about five in a group at different levels of fitness , would workouts with time be more suitable than each one doing three sets of 12 for example??
I definitely think that with bigger groups saying something like “do as many reps as you can with good form for the next 40 seconds!” makes a lot of sense rather than saying “do 15 reps of that exercise!” The bigger the group the better the timeframe option tends to work. It makes it so that the challenge level is adequate for everyone.
@@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation thank you so much for the advice. I'm hoping to start online group and pt session s very soon! Thanks again!! Have been watching all your videos!! Greatly appreciated!
For virtual training, we usually use either Google meets or FaceTime (whatever works better for the client). For online coaching, Trainerize or Everfit.
HI Jeff -Was curious if you use a video camera to film some of your video or your cell phone. For either one, which brand\model are you using? Do you also incorporate special lighting and other film accesories?
I use a canon camera to film most of my videos. (Canon EOS M50 Mark II + EF-M 15-45mm is STM Kit Black a.co/d/8HgzhjJ) Once in a while, like if I’m doing more of a vlog type of vid I’ll use my cell phone, but most of the time I’m using that camera. I have a relatively cheap lavelier microphone that I use too, but I don’t have anything special for lighting.
Hi Jeff- For virtual training sessions I was thnking of getting a portable TV stand (like what they use in business conference rooms), using the TV as a monitor and hooking up my laptop or mirroring my phone to the screen to make it easier for me to see what they are doing as opposed to limiting myself to my cell or laptop. What are your thoughts on this for you to see your client or conversely make it easier for your client to see what you are doing?
I had a set up like that when my studio was shut down during the pandemic! It worked well for me. These days I don’t do as much virtual training but I would go back to that set up again if I ever went back to doing more of it.

Good question! Keep your rates the same! It will appear sketchy to potential clients otherwise!

I just passed a NASM certification, is there any additional certifications I need to do online training legally?
Congrats on passing your NASM! No, you don’t need any other certifications to do online or virtual training.
