This is the second full length album I listened to from the strokes when I first found them and I really did like it instantly it was kinda a shock to learn everybody hates this Album lmao
I don't understand why people don't like this album I'm sorry. I enjoy it. It's amazing, ofcourse it's not insane, and honestly, if you compare this to The New Abnormal yeah it's 'mid'.
didnt like it that much either at the beginning..i gave it another listen with good headphones on a lonely night and and it hit different. good video tho
Sounds bland on first listen but there’s some cool ideas/songs to digest. Julian said in an interview (fantano) that he doesn’t understand this album + Angles and that the band didn’t wanna spend time in a toxic space but also had to finish their 5 album contract with RCA, thus the simplistic album cover+marketing. Great video mate!
They pretty much only made this album to satisfy the label. I don’t think they even wanted to make it in the first place lol. The cover is even the RCA logo I guess to signify that this wasn’t of their own accord 🤣 Tbh, I love this album. It took me a while to come around to liking it, but it’s great if you need something easy to listen to while doing menial tasks imo. But I get where you’re coming from and I don’t blame you. I don’t think the band would blame you either lol P.S. there’s also Fast Animals which is just a faster version of Slow Animals. A lot of people like that version better.
Automatically subscribed, I really like the strokes but I like genuine and honest opinions and comments more than something overreacted or false, it would be great if you react to any rammstein album in the future, greeting from Chile !

This album is great, like wtf is everyone's deal. If this was released in the last five years it would be huge lol.
It really wouldn't. This album was only put out to get out of their contract with RCA. It is extremely uninspired aside from a couple of songs.

I dislike this one too, but where is One Way Trigger? Did you skip it? Definitely the most lively song on the album
