I adore this movie. Unfortunately the message and theme of the film is lost on a lot of people. Genuinely one of my favourite films I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing.
23:28 I honestly don't think she was evil. She was forced to marry and scared of the man and that's why she jumped. She probably laughed out of fear to be next. He is just reflecting his own personality onto her. And why did she go? She is curious, and wanted to know about her mother and herself.

Glad you loved it! This is easily my favorite film of the year (& maybe one of my favs of all time). Lily Gladstone did great in Killers of the Flower Moon, but I’m lowkey hoping Emma gets the Oscar for this. ❤
This movie stands a VERY strong chance of beating BARBIE in Production Design and Costume Design. I'm actually predicting this to win those 2. Fun fact: Thanks to this film, Mark Ruffalo tied an Oscar record for most Best Supporting Actor nominations by any male actor ever (this is his 4th Supporting nomination, and he shares this record with 7 other men including Al Pacino, Jack Nicholson and Robert Duvall among others). Sadly, Willem Dafoe didn't get nominated but he would have tied the exact same record had he been nominated as well.

The only logic I got out of not reviving her as herself and swapping brains is cause she killed herself while being pregnant. Back then let say 1890 suicide was just as bad as shooting someone in the head! (Murder) they viewed suicidal as self murder and was a crime and or severe looked down upon. So even if Godwin brought her back as Victoria blessington. Her life would have been way worse than it already was. Creepy to see at first but it makes sense at that point in time. That’s what I got out of it!

In the book is heavily implied that Godwin is the Frankesteins monster, that´s why his "father" did all those experiments with him

probably the weirdest movie i saw in 2023 in a good way, the big issue for me was by the last dinner scene where i started to feel the runtime
