As a cis straight guy I've always known that I identify with my birth sex. I've always known that I'm attracted to women. It boggles my mind that people can't give LGBT+ people the same trust that I was given. If people can trust me to know that I'm a straight cis man then they should be able to trust people that aren't cis or straight. It's just prejudice and there is no good reason behind it.

Oh my god. Literally everyone responded that children were old enough to choose their gender, just not old enough to transition then the dude has the audacity to say everyone agreed kids couldn’t. Don’t twist their words like that bro
Exactly.
They don't understand trans people or are intentionally try to say that the state of medically transitioning is what being trans means. They're trying to go for the low ball "think of the children" stance while actually not thinking about what's good for children
@Sai when did he say that, he was comparing what some 8 year olds would think like. (it is a weak argument I give you that but he wasn't comparing transpeople to being dragons my love.)
You shouldn't be forced as a child to think a certain way. They do this now everywhere but we stopped that in 1945 in happening to the world. However, it happens everyday now. FAITH SCHOOLS are banned from teaching ONLY THEIR FAITHS in our schools here. Ruddy faith schools mate...the parents will choose to send them there, therefore they will want them to grow up as that faith. And therefore, the state is sticking there orr in telling them they need a "diverse" view of other faiths and prospects...obviously not getting faith there.
But that is besides the point, you need to allow growth in a person to make an informed decision about anything and it should not be enforced as doctrine, yet spoken about and discussed.
Alas, it is plastered all over our media sites, tipped up on our entertainment and blanket b0mbed over social media sites with a one spectrum view. Just like 1923 to 1945 in Germany mate.
I would be careful before you have something where it isn't persumed "free". This is why you and I (and everyone) must fight for the right for our OWN thoughts and our own education and percieved learning. That is why it is dangerous in having one spectrum view and that is why everyone should do as I do, where I watch videos I don't agree with and videos I do and then make an informed decision whether I still do nt or if I do now.
My bottom line BTW - as a disclaimer - is do what you want as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. Base line. I would also say if it doesn't affect your health, as I would like to everyone to have a decent crack at being a human being for as long as their life was destined to be. You can't be cut off short. So carefulness, health professional advice and even now psychological ones to, should be paramount.
There was only 2 people who disagreed and they got more screentime then all the people that agreed 💀💀💀

now i saw someone else say this, but it's too good not to quote: "are trans people real? we asked cis people!"
Not even kidding a study was done on ROGD and this woman wanted to know if it existed. So rather than asking trans kids she asked the transphobic parents of the kids if it existed. I kid you not this is a real example of "are kids trans? We asked transphobic parents!"
Aren't you already segregating people because of their sexual orientation by judging they aren't capable of speak or give their opinions about a specific subject , just like you are impling a cis person can't talk about trans people . You just became what you hate the most .
@@kaiyatunick8014 we aren’t segregating people. But not all parties can speak on subjects or relate to things that they have not dealt with. An example is, you wouldn’t ask a white person what black issues are, because that white person would not have dealt with black issues. This can go vice versa, for all social views. This does not mean groups can’t intermingle, or have a common ground of understanding, but one group shouldn’t answer on behalf of another group. Specifically in a video like this from Prager U, these people are randomly selected off the street. Many of whom we have no proof that they’ve even interacted with a trans person, yet they are answering questions about trans experiences.
@@gotmilk9843 That doesn't make sense , everyone is allowed to speak about every subject , even if our experiences are different because people that are smart independently if they are trans or not knows is wrong for a kid to start a hormone treatment that young and undergo mayor surgery that can affect their life in the future or that may regret because they weren't really transgender .

EXACTLYYYY
Not with intersex kids. If they have something not clearly boy or girl downstairs then it's perfectly fine to just make that decision for them and operate. Gotta make them whatever is considered normal.
@@schnizzyfizz7832 its not possible for intersex people to have both a penis and a vagina. its jus biologically impossible. it is common to have genitals that resemble one sex but function as another. they dont do any "big chop". that being said some do choose to undergo plastic surgery or gender-reassignment surgery later in life.
@Astrid It's not. But it is considered to be since they are doing it. They really ought to wait with surgery until that child can articulate what they are. Society is very eager to "normalise" people that don't fit within the two boxes.
More than a few instances of where they got it wrong. And then it sucks to know you kind of had the right bits to begin with, but they operated you in the wrong direction.
I get it if the urinary canal is blocked or some other medical emergency, but most of these kids can pee and poop just fine. And they are not going to have sex until they are teenagers. So maybe not be in such a rush operate?
Circumcision is a partial chopping and it's legal, and way too common in many countries. Not my own, but in America it's super common despite not being 100% necessary in most cases, despite it being imposed by parents, and despite the fact that an older person with an "it" can decide to get it or not, when being able to decide. So there are really weird standards. With people with "its" and intersex people, parents should wait until their child can decide if there is no real medical risk. No need to rush.

@Stoney McStone Honestly! Like I think her name was Megan Fox, but that's how I want my kids to grow up. She lets her son's pick out whatever they want to wear, even if they aren't traditional boy clothes, I don't want my children to be held back by sterotypes.
@Stoney McStone Update: it was Megan Fox. I really like the message that she's sending to parents that clothes don't mean gender. Can't wait to see more accepting parents that do the same thing.
Can you be my parent
As the parent of a trans-child, I have to say I am often confused and at a loss, but I respect my child and what they feel and want in their life. I am the parent who, over time not overnight, bought the boy's clothes, the haircut, changed the name (which was harder than I expected) and I have found it to be one of the most rewarding things I have ever done in my life. I mean, I knew I was a girl from a young age, so what is the difference? Also, do parents really think they'll be able to maintain a good relationship with these kids after basically belittling everything they believe in? NO. All they are doing by not supporting their children is losing out on the love, trust, and respect of their beautiful babies and I was NOT about to do that.
You are a wonderful person❤️

Age 7 I definitely knew I was a girl and I asked my parents why wasn't my name this name or whatever or why wasn't I a boy I wanted to be a boy. And they said it doesn't work like that and I was like oh...anyways carried on with like being a girl but going through puberty hit different!!!! I mean I wasn't myself anymore that's when I was like yeah I'm definitely a boy but again still carried on as a girl age 13 to 17 as I'm 17 now I decided it was time to change things up by dressing as a guy and wear hats a lot but age 16 cuted my hair and bla bla bla lol and now 17 I'm here as a dude and very happy and very comfortable about myself but still waiting to start testosterone and that should be next year in march sometime
yeah, for me it was liking doing things my guy friends did, relating a lot to male characters in the media, and desperately wanting to cut my hair off since middle school. i never asked to wear anything else than what i was told to at that age because i didn’t know wearing guy clothes was something i could do. when I hit high school, i wanted to be just like the other boys, i would eat a lot because all my friends were on the football team and i felt cool “bulking up”, same thing with gaining muscle. i would literally look at the weights the other guy before me had done and not even move it so i could challenge myself to be able to push them. i got excited and happy about gaining arm and leg muscles, it felt so euphoric to be strong. I also always wanted to wear suits, ties and button downs like all my friends at our track banquets, but never told my parents cuz again, never knew i could be trans. In college i met a trans friend and started looking stuff up about it, and found myself immediately drawn to trans men on UA-cam, tumblr etc. and to this day my parents tell my therapist there were never any signs. 😆

Alright alright alright, if I told my mom, when I was eight years old, I wanted to be a dragon? She'd buy me a dragon onesie and let me collect rocks and be a dragon until I got bored.
I remember telling my mom I thought I was a boy when I was FIVE and she went ‘lol ur just a tomboy’ and here I am, twelve, almost thirteen years later and I am non-binary so yk, there was something there lmao ,:)
Sam homestuck transed me
Honestly what would an 8 year old choosing their gender actually entail for it to be "dangerous"?? Like at that age the kid would be getting new clothes, toys, haircut, decorations, etc. The absolute worst case scenario is that they were wrong and so you just... stop. It's not a big deal, children should be allowed to explore themselves especially in this case when there would be no actual consequences if it turns out they were cis, while it would be a huuuuge benefit to their wellbeing if they weren't.
Edit: got angry and wrote this comment before watching the rest of the vid, so glad to see this point was made lol. It's so obvious that arguing against is just stupid.
Also the difference is an eight year old “wants” to or “wishes” to be a dragon but a kid “knows” that they’re a boy/girl/neither. Like a little trans boy can want to be a dragon too, and he knows he’s a boy.
I hate when adults talk down to children like they aren't human beings. When I was a kid I had so many ppl telling me "you're a kid so you don't know what you're talking about/doing" and now I'm struggling in my adult life to speak up for myself, make my own choices without others guiding me and I have no faith in my own brain. I genuinely think I'm just not smart enough yet bc I was always told I would never be smart until I grew up. It seriously held me back and it was just those few words being fed to maybe 2 or 3 times a day. Words matter, especially to children.
Kinda related but my sister doesn't think non binary people exist and she won't talk to me about it now

"As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gender."
- Not actually the first lines of Goodfellas.
i keep thinking that if a parent is afraid of their kid being trans or gay then they don't deserve to be a parent. having kids is not about them being another version of you, you're supposed to be the one to help them grow up into their OWN person.
I transitioned when i was 6. I didnt know what transgender was at the time i only knew that i didnt like bejng a boy and being a boy made me feel like i wasnt in the right body and evetually i was diagnosed with gender dysphoria. I started hormone blockers this September!!!!
Everyone is different and people mature at different rates, while I personally didn’t know about gender and what I was until I was like 12-13 some people know what gender they are at 8 and sometimes even younger!
To me it depends on the maturity of the person and their understanding of the world around them and not the age.

It’s true. I was transed in like 02. You know, when the closest thing to representation was “My husband cheated on me with a tr*nny” on Maury. The first time I felt represented was in 06 when I learned of Kim Petras. Oh and then the next best thing was when my mom’s boyfriend cheated on her with a trans woman. So, I hid into myself until 2016 when I was already 18.5. I knew since I was a kid. I was consistent in the belief. I pass and am ok with how I turned out, but my life would’ve been so much better if I had representation and knowledge as a wee little kid and came out back then.

i hate when i see those videos because then i watch them and have conversations with the person asking questions about.. just how devastatingly wrong they are about how it works.
When I was 6 I was wearing long shirts or blankets to pretend to have a dress and putting scarves on my head to pretend to have long hair. I hated being referred to as a boy and I hated my name and told my parents that I wanted to be a girl until like 8 when they finally told me that I just couldn't do that and that I was a boy. Needless to say going through all the dysphoria and suicidal ideations isn't fun. Will every child know that they are trans? No. But when a child is constantly saying that they are the opposite gender it's more harmful to force them into a life not meant for them than to let them experiment or take them to a therapist to find out where to go in the future. Please if you have kids just support them it will help them to not have to deal with extra pain that they don't need.
honestly, i dont like how some parents are raising their child as the opposite gender like... just let them find out for themselves??? like with the parents raising their kids as nonbinary. idk if this is transphobic but just raise them without gender stereotypes and if they come out to be nonbinary good for them. just dont push it on the kid
I think parent just don't need to force a gender or a stereotype on their kids. Just let them like what they like and don't ashamed them to be a certain way.

its one thing to think that it would be epic to be a dragon and want that, and another thing to feel so confused about yourself, questioning yourself, and feeling gender dysphoria/euphoria, discovering your identity at an age where gender roles are blatantly in your face. a little boy crying at night because he doesnt know why everyone calls him a girl is different from a kids pretending to be a dragon because its cool and fun. as people grow up, they develop and discover their identity and how they see themselves. gender is just one of those things. people having the stupidest misconceptions just shows exactly how educated we choose to be. please respect trans people more, it doesnt hurt to do a quick google search to understand it all.
I'm so annoyed by how people say "choose their gender", you do not CHOOSE your gender, it is there, it just is. It's not a decision for "you" to make. If trans people could "choose" their gender, then they wouldn't have gender dysphoria 🙃
Gender is a social concept, it absolutely can be changed. Sex is biological and cannot be changed. There is a difference.
@@thereaIjesuschrist I meant that gender was the person's identity and it isn't something they can choose
@@thereaIjesuschrist See that.
Jesus support trans people.
My dysphoria as a child manifested as not wanting to do things that were “girly” to avoid being “girly” I didn’t t want to associate with that. My mom would say I acted like a boy and it would make me feel happy. It never really registered “I’m a boy.” Until a few year ago, but it was definitely there.
There needs to be so much more awareness made and information provided on this topic, because I had no idea that an 8-year couldn't begin their medical transition until much later, which is only common sense, but that kind of information is never put out into the media which I assume is so detrimental to kids who are trying to figure out their gender identity
I was suicidal at 7... kids can have adult thoughts at very young ages.. Gender dysphoria is a real thing and it affects kids even if it is a small percentage. To say that that kid can’t decide for themselves who they want to be is ridiculous... and maybe you don’t just change the gender right away but that’s why there’s a system to it 🤦🏽♀️ you take that 8 year old to therapy and work through those thoughts and see if they still feel the same a little later on in life but they should definitely be able to get the haircut they like and wear the clothes they want so they can identify with themselves more... I mean you want them to be happy and feel comfortable in their skin. I also really don’t think there are many doctors out there that are just gonna start chopping up 8 year olds so like... dudes an idiot
why don't they ask 8 years old their questions about them ...?
Well, If I had an 8 year old I would have a massive problem with an adult asking my kid such questions.
@@ievolution-9651 ofc, that's understandable, and that's what makes the issue so complex
theres a difference between wanting to be a dragon and being sad that you can’t
and wanting to transition because you feel like you were born wrong and then getting heavily depressed when your parents don’t support you ....
I thought this video was gonna be COMPLETELY different but I’m glad I checked it out and subscribed :)
