Ayoo, wanna hear a story about my “super supportive” friends?
I came out as non binary to them because I felt that I could trust them because I care about them all very much, they asked what my pronouns were so I told them they could call me by anything, after that they continued mocking me and calling me a he or an it to make fun of me. This was in the middle of class but the teacher didn’t give a shit about what they were doing so she didn’t say anything. After all the mocking my friends said “sorry, I know you’re non-binary but I’m still going to call you a she” and all of my other friends agreed. I built up the fucking courage to come out to them and that’s how they treated me. This is why I don’t put my pronouns in my bio.

Here's the thing, gen z and millennials, more so than any other generation, are well known for having a very dark style of humor. However, our dark humor is focused on humoring our traumas in order to lighten up the mood. We focus on making fun of ourselves, not others. It's incredibly weird to see both boomers and people with boomer mentalities calling us snowflakes for not liking their racist, sexist and homophobic jokes.

that whole comment about his son and the coffin thing really got to me, my grandma had a sister back in the day who wanted to get divorced from her husband who she had been forced to get married to (they were poor and the dude was rich so my family thought marrying her off to him would be good) because she had found another man she was actually in love with and was told by my great grandma, her MOTHER (who I got to meet and liked a lot until the day I found this out) that "She would rather have a dead daughter than a divorced one", mind you all SHE WAS DIVORCED AS WELL, which I find very hypocritical of her but anyways the point is my grandma's sister killed herself that same day, my great grandma lived with that guilt all her life, your words matter a lot to those who love you the most please used them wisely.
My mom when she told me this usually says that my great grandma didn't mean it and that those were different times back then and she was probably scared of what she went through herself when she was divorced being something her daughter was going to go through as well, what I told my mom and will tell you is this simple: don't say words you don't mean to people, and never tell anyone that they are better off dead, I would guess her daughter came to her because she was thinking that in a world where everyone would judge her at least her mom would be on her side and seeing that she was all alone in her struggle was what broke her, that breaks my heart, a lot of people say a look just like her so I've made it my mission to spread her story.
