How to Screen Share Google Slides in Zoom and Still See Your Presenter Notes

- When you lead a class session or meeting and want to present a Google Slides presentation, it's very helpful to be able to see your presenter notes at the same time, WITHOUT your students seeing your presenter notes. Here's a way to do that on a single screen! It also allows you to see a presentation timer, upcoming slides, and enables you to manage audience tools!

This was so helpful. I had to practice with a "practice" account with my daughter. And oh my goodness. She played the worst student. lol But she taught me a really good lesson about classroom management. I had no clue how to mute her or how to get her to stop asking me to let her write on the screen. It took us 2 hours of exploring. Guess I have more work to do. lol Thank you for sharing this.

What about the tabs that are shown while presenting the window? I am having trouble getting these to go away unless the presentation takes up my whole screen.

This was super helpful--thank you! Have you ever had a need to zoom-in (meaning, get closer) to an image in a google slide during a Zoom (the video conferencing app) call? I've read how to zoom in but haven't been successful with Google Slides.

Hello Corinne and big thanks for the super clear explainer! Just to clarify: if I am sharing the presentation on zoom and keeping an eye on my speaker's notes on a separate window, I will have to click from slide to slide separately on the presentation that is being shared with students and on the presenter's view slides so I can see the notes, right?

Can you make the presentation go full screen for the students without them seeing the tabs in Chrome and still see speaker notes?
I've been wondering the same thing
You can make zoom share only a portion of the screen and therefore crop the chrome tabs out of the shared window. But you cannot overlay your presentation app with anything else. And it maybe lowers the quality. You will find this option within the advanced settings in the share screen menu.
@@jakubvymola8002 So as I understand it - you still have all the tabs at the top showing unless you go full screen - then you cant see your speaker notes - but you can crop the image so the tabs are not showing...? Many thanks ! x

Thanks for this! How do you maintain the live video camera of yourself + your participants in this mode? Every time I do the live screen share, the video camera goes black for both myself and my participant. When I end the screen share, it returns. Is that just by default?

Is there anyway to show the presentation slide (here seen as "This is my presentation slide" without the tab at the top and still see notes. If I click on full view, I can't see notes. Help please?
While sharing the screen like this, can i have a gallery view to see like 20 students at a time?
Or is it just the 1 strip of participants i can see?

Is there any way to share the full screen slides presentation while also in presenter mode? I'm wondering if there is a way to hide the web browser toolbar and url bar - and achieve the view you get when clicking Slideshow (not presenter mode). Hope this question makes sense!
While in ZOOM and showing my students a video on one of my google slides they are telling me it freezes or they cant access it when I push play. Thoughts?
What does 'back to meeting do"? Can I use it to flip student view to Zoom participants while I advance the presentation through multiple screens? The presenter view only shows the next, not all and in some classes some slides are to be skipped.

I am using a Chromebook and trying to display my speaker notes without my participants being able to see them whilst I show my slides. I've followed your video instructions but I can't get this to work. Does this work with a Chromebook? Surely, it must, right?

I had to keep going back and forth to each window to go to the next slide..... what was I doing wrong? Other than that it did work
Is there a way i can present the slides with students not seeing the tabs i opened? Because i tried it but the students can see the tabs i opened. When i try to full screen the slide, i lost the notes. So, i used alt+tab to get back to the notes but after that, the students then can already see.my notes also. thanks

I've tried this, but the presenter notes and my video show as black boxes over the Presentation on others' screens (and when I video record the call). How do we make it so viewers see the Slide Presentation without those black boxes?
But I watched the recording of the Zoom session and apparently the Presenter Notes also appears on my students' screen. Whatever I share is shared on their screen, so are the notes. So, that doesn't work properly.
How do you share the presentation full screen (i.e. without seeing the google chrome tabs and bookmarks) and still see presenter notes??? Is this possible?

All I saw was an arrow constantly moving around, and all I heard was background noise. And, then the presenter stating that she had not that in a while so she sometimes forgets how to do it! Completely useless. 😓
