This is brilliant! I was going to go for separate slides and camera recordings, then overlay them in post, but this is way better. Like you said, it mimics the "evening news" style of presenting we've been used to for decades.

This is great advice, Garr -- especially because of how simple it is. Virtual presenting is quick to get bogged down in tremendous complexity. I have colleagues who have six cameras and seven monitors! Engagement does not require such complexity.
Thanks, Rick. Yes, I'm just trying to keep things simple. I am amazed at some of the set-ups I see with 4-5 screens, sound boards, cameras, etc. etc. Seems like a lot of flexing. I'd be happy if I could just get people to get some good lighting, get a good mic and get the camera at eye-level -- just that a lone would improve a lot of online presentations.
How do you switch slides quickly easily using this method?.

This is great! But, for the life of me, I can't figure out how you are on the right of the screen. I've watched another video of yours too, where you share the PPT as a Virtual Background in Zoom. But, I can't get myself to be off to the side, and still be able to look into the camera. I've recently downloaded Camo, for iPhone, and have the same result. What's the trick? Thank you!!
Thanks, Catherine. I just move the camera slighting to the right or move my chair slightly to the left (of both) while still making sure the green screen in filling the entire space behind me. If I can I'll make a video soon to address this question. Thanks again.

An excellent idea. Would be really useful to have tips and tricks for changing the background while presenting so that it smooth - not people waiting for you to find and upload the next background/slide.
But how to do it? How do you change between slides?
Why not just let an entire slide fill the screen so viewers don’t have to look back and forth between the presenter and the slide?

This is great. What is the trick with looking good in front of your virtual background. Do you have a physical green screen and is the green screen backlit? In order to reduce the “glow” that can appear around your head (you look great)
Thanks, Betsy. The camera is a Brio (not great, but not terrible). Yes, I have a good green screen behind me. It should be further away to reduce green spill (mine is only about 2 feet behind me). And yes, I put some lights behind me to make sure the screen is lit up as well (does not need too much light, but without separate lighting it looks pretty bad). Zoom has gotten much better with or without green screen to give a green screen effect. This is the app. You choose the virtual camera from within the zoom app, choose the mmhmm camera which will appear as an option in Zoom once mmhmm is open.
