I have been told by the nurse at my doctors, welcome to old age. What?!? I was 54 at the time. I had a hard time losing weight on carnivore. I really dug deep to figure out why. I did the sardine challenge last week. I tweaked my diet. Now I am down ten pounds and in ketosis! I eat OMAD. I add 1 drop of iodine in my coffee. I am excited to see the nurse at my doctor's office!! Take that girly!! 😂
No I think the same thing. I have wanted to stop a couple times but did not. Cause In the end, I always realize that I feel better,, is that crazy or what ? LOL God bless you.
That's one of the things that sold me on this diet. Everyone looks great! If everyone had sunken eyes, funky muscles or blotchy skin etc I'd never have even looked at this as an option.
Personally, I don't care about losing weight anymore. Threw away my scale. I feel well, energetic and in control: total carnivore zen. And I AM losing fat, which is what matters. Clothes keeps getting loser. More importantly, I AM healing from 25 years of bulimia. Reversed my arthritis too. Numbers on the scale have become meaningless to me.
I'm excited to hear you reversed your arthritis. I'm dealing with arthritis and possible palindromic rheumatism that so far carnivore hasn't helped. But I'm feeling better in every other way, so your comment gives me hope. Thank you for this!
I've been carnivore for almost 2 years and have started gaining weight; lost ketosis about one year after stopping keto and starting carnivore... just recently found out that I need MCT oil to uncouple my mitochondria and am FINALLY back in ketosis. I was unable to burn the fat, hence, gained fat . . . when I was keto, I ate coconut oil and avocado oil, which have MCTs. That was my major difference, and now, with one tablespoon of MCT oil in my java, I'm on my way!! Hope it helps someone.
@@ipaintkitchencabinets2069 Definitely not true. I am eating exactly the same but I cut out all coconut products and never having been obese, it has affected my mitochondria. I am now eating exactly the same amounts but I’m back in ketosis and have lost the extra 10 pounds.
@@catrinaitaliano8755 Coconut products are high in calories, by removing all coconut products you’ve reduced your calories and have lost 10 pounds. It’s all about calories whether you choose to believe it or not. Facts are facts.
I cannot walk very far or stand very long, because of constant chronic pain in my glute muscles and my SI joints & hips and it really is painful to walk most times. I'm just getting over finally, after months from the 4th of July weekend, a knee injury, which really affected my ability to move. I am at 68 yoa & 250 lb; started researching and learning more about the carnivore diet around July and August more intensely and trying it to get more and more carnivore eliminating most vegetables and fruits, including nuts, and then I started learning about oxalates at the same time; with encouragement from the low oxalate gurus to change slowly to carnivore to prevent oxalate dumping. I used to eat a lot of nuts especially to bring my blood sugar back up if my blood sugar dropped too low, being an insulin dependent diabetic. Doing more and more carnivore based diet, yet being discouraged from being so by one of my doctors telling me my cortisol level was too high and I was breaking my own body down if I went carnivore. But still trying to stick with it and I just can't seem to shuck the weight even though I've been trying more to do this carnivore diet in the last 2 to 3 months I haven't been able to do it 100%. Partially related to having to be in a family members home and not having control or free use of the kitchen, but there are other issues as well. Also being diabetic chronically and having difficulty knowing that the insulin I have to take is adding to & keeping fat on. And not seeming to make headway. I'm trying to go more and more strict carnivore, but it's difficult when you have to stand to cook and I can't stand for prolonged periods of time. I can do it in short bursts but not for long periods of time. So a lot of my carnivore meals have been at restaurants where they will grill meat & do eggs & bacon for me, or it's a combination of meat and eggs. But maybe they're all using seed oils and that's the next step to cut out, I've cut it out at home a long time ago. Being a nurse and learning about all of this stuff and just the last 6 months has been mentally fatiguing but still determined to make these changes if I can I'm just not sure why I'm not seeing all the results that everybody else talks about with their improvements, some even just being on Carnivore one month 2 months or even just weeks and let alone 3 months like I've been trying to do
Well, can't afford a gym membership to go get on the human size hamster wheels for exercise. Calculated mowing my yard with the push mower. Its a 5 mile walk! So here's the cardio, raking and chopping and picking up the messes? About 100 squats. So I started feeling good enough about 2 weeks ago to take over these chores. I'm already getting where im not panting so hard afterwards. Not bad for a great grandma. (Breaking my arm to pat myself on the back, LOL).
I gained weight at the beginning of carnivore plus coffee, thought it was the coffee and not prepared to give that up...3 months later, I have lost 6 kg. Definite improvements with mood and memory, happy for no reason, never had that before!
My first 3 days on Carnivore I noticed I had so much energy not just physically but mentally I had a better Outlook I was feeling much better mentally. I too gained weight but that's because I found out my sweetener was full of sugar thanks to the big Agra companies. Also I noticed that my good mood started to disappear. I attributed a lot of that to my anxiety because of things going on in my personal life, but Once I changed all that sugar nonsense I started to feel better again.
I'm definitely on the side of not staying consistent with eating enough , then eating whatever I can ! Dani has the most epic hair ! The video I needed today...
I’m thinking meat is good for hair, after seeing you two. I’m a 3.5 year low carb man , 75 and long haired. I’m so healthy and want to go to the next level and I’m pretty sure carnivore is the way. Just need to learn more, so I’m watching videos and yours are good. Just watched you w/Dr. Berry.
I just started carnivore about 2 weeks ago. Had a bit of a bumpy start, but been very consistent with just meat, water, butter ( and half a cup of goat milk kefir). I started because I have been recently experiencing joint and muscle pain (Im 61 and have had some health struggles, and now in menopause). The more I listen to various videos on carnivore (trying to educate myself), the more I wonder if it's necessary to hire someone like Danni to guide me through this, because I'm not sure what my personal ratios should be or what a "macro" is....sigh...I was hoping I could do this on my own since I've already spent a fortune on doctors, naturopaths, tests, etc... I really want to do this right, though. I'm already feeling my joint pain leave by about 95%!
This was just the thing that I was seeking. I went carnivore last year from May to September 2021, and I didn't lose any weight. I started again this Feb 14, 2022 I lost about 5 lbs the first week, but started to regain the weight although I remained carnivore. I have done hair analysis, blood work, full thyroid panel, intermittent fasting, dry fasting, regular fasting, OMAD, etc. No weight loss and I weigh over 300 lbs! One expert suggested that I eat leaner cuts of meat. I did that. No weight loss. Another told me that I need to not worry about losing weight - I was too much into my head...Another said not to worry. But I weigh over 300 lbs and I need and want to let go of the excess fat and be healthy. I did have gall bladder surgery in Oct 2020, but I can eat meats without a problem. This was a godsend. Thank you, Kelly! I have already emailed Dani to schedule a consultation. Be Blessed!
Have you thought about eating more? I gained weight in the beginning of carnivore eating two pounds a day at 6 months. I listened to the veterans and I increased to 3 lb of fatty me today and quickly dropped 10 lb. My hormones needed to balance before my body was able to lose weight.
I have been 250 lbs and have had the same issue. I can stay on carnivore but still don't lose weight. I eat beef and lamb. I don't trim the fat but I don't add fat either.
my body weight did not drop a lot in the last three weeks of carnivore. about half a kg per week. but i noticed body composition changing a tiny bit as well. so i guess there is more fat loss but also a bit of muscle growth (the muscles around the chest feel very present somehow. take home message: * the scale shows only weight loss, not fat loss * almost half a kg of weight loss per week is still ok. it adds up over time
This was a great interview by Kelly with Dani! My Zero Carb Life UA-cam channel is the best carnivore channel out there! Keep up the great work, Kelly!
I have lipedema and and pcos and keratosis polaris. Well I had them 2.5 years ago when I started carnivore in a fit of desperation. It took me a year to get past a wall where my legs would hurt like hell and refuse to shrink. I lost weight everywhere else. Fought through awful oxalate dumping. My appetite for fat has gone up and down and I finally now feel like I can actually tune into my hunger. I’m about 20lbs behind my “goal” weight and living my life at 35 with more vigor than I did at 15. These videos help me to keep a sense of normalcy to my lifestyle and a community where I can learn from and share with others. Thanks for the content!
I have lipedema too. Are you saying the diet helped with pain? Are you considering liposuction? I don't want to but I'm in so much pain I don't know what else to do! I'm working on diet. I'm 5'7 and 185- so at least 30 lbs overweight.
@@stacywoods9368 I've had painful lipedema since I was very young. I never considered liposuction because it is not a financial possibility. I lost weight with restriction and exercise but it did nothing for my legs. My belly went away though. I gained the weight back in less than a year because I felt I was starving all of the time and binged it back. When I went carnivore, I expected my legs to stay the same size, but they actually started to shrink first! The pain is barely noticeable now 2.5 years later, but that has not been the case the whole time. For the first year, the pain stayed about the same but would always flare right after a big activity day or my period. As my legs got smaller, the pain got more intense for a few months until I started to massage the tissue regularly. Massage hurts but was necessary because it helps relieve the pain. I started taking a warm bath daily and massaging my legs and that prevents the pain all of the time for me now. Lipedema is known to be caused by issues with the lymphatic system, so in hind sight this makes sense. At first, the fat in my legs, hips, butt, and a little bit in my upper arms was hard and rough. It felt like thick dry mud balls under my skin. When it wasn't hurting, it was mostly numb. With time on a strict carnivore diet, it got softer and eventually smoothed out over 90%. I now have minor cellulite on my butt and small patches of lipedema fat on my hips. My legs rarely turn purple/red with swelling anymore. I actually can't remember the last time it hurt and I used to be kept up at night in tears from the pain. Now when I massage my legs in the tub, I can feel the muscles and I'm hopeful that my daily bath with someday soon just be my time to relax instead. I hope you can find a solution for your pain!
Kelly Hogan, I’m not losing like I thought I would. Yet I feel smaller and I feel so good! My waist looks like it’s getting smaller. So I know this is working but the scales not showing much weight lose it’s causing me to wonder why! I will say I can’t eat much! I can’t eat sometimes but one meal. So is my body holding on to weight thinking I’m starving myself. I truly am not hungry much anymore.
Quick reference to summarise advice: "Weight loss happens when the body is healthy & in balance" --> don't guess - test! ;) 1. Reduce carb intake. Cut out all sugar & processed foods, seed/vege oils & gluten 2. Focus on resistance work outs (strength/muscle-building improves our metabolism) over cardio (can create more stress/cortisol/hormone & blood sugar response) walking is a good option 3. Eat nutrient dense foods (ie: animal protein) 4. Get more sleep (blood sugar/cortisol spikes & GI imbalances can wake you up) 5. Go outside, everyday - regardless of the weather (Vitamin D is essential) & socialise with others 6. Keep well-hydrated with electrolytes (headaches, fatigue, nausea, leg cramps can indicate not enough or too much!) 7. Ensure you have enough iodine + fat in your diet 60%
@@micaKTM1290 If the salt is iodized that they are using of course. But not all are. Many just using sea salt etc as seasoning purposes. I mean theres a whole host of actual nutrients an all beef diet is lacking in from fat soluble vitamins to vitamin C.
Kelly, really miss your videos. When you create a new one, it's fantastic. This was an informative conversation. Regained 15 pounds due to a stressful move. I forgot how hard it is to lose weight as a type 2 diabetic, still insulin resistant- although not as severe as I was 4 years ago. I consider my journey a peel the onion. I cut sugar, carbs and grains. When I get to a plateau - same weight for more than 2 months, I cut extras like cheese and diet pepsi and all fake sugar substitutes. Most doctors don't understand this way of eating. Change your eating/ lifestyle before medicating. My new doctor discussed putting me on statins before looking at my blood work! My Trig is 74, my hdl is 78, ldl 125! She did not test my insulin as I asked. It's a struggle to get good health care.
I too was diabetic for 15 yrs. I no longer am a diabetic. I never took meds. For three yrs doctors wanted me to take metformin, but I just never did. Come to find out. Metformin can cause wt gain people say.. After doctor appointment, I went to store ,got me rotisserie chicken, veggies, butter, cilantro tomato, oregano, catfish, green beans,, I made soup for six months and started a 4 mile hike on unlevel ground and next thing ya know, doctor said you are not a diabetic no more. That was about 4 yrs ago.. Now I went from that too full plant based, now I am full carnivore over night back on July 25th 2022. Bp was 144/88 P-82 two weeks later 129/78 P-65. I wonder what it is now. The heart doctor said, you need a pace maker about same time. Been 3 yrs since I went there. Doctors can experiment on somebody else.. Everything has smoothed right out,, even after cutting decaf hot tea out.. I do not drink coffee ☕ I was always a heavy tea drinker, now I am happier to not have any tea.,,weird.. God bless you.
Damn, tea or rarely coffee, has been an excuse to drink half n half, now heavy cream. 😢 But I’m realizing that I don’t actually like the taste of tea, even. 🤦♀️ No trouble eating straight butter 😋
Kelly what a great video. I so glad you approached it from all angles, you tell us we don't have to be carnivore and what the biggest things to change for better health - right now. You also addressed some of us more seasoned carnivores too. Even with the excellent health I have now, I'm always looking at ways to improve my well being. You and Dani provided so much great information!
I've been carnivore for 2.5 years.... Anyways, I've given up coffee, sweeteners, cheese with meals only. I have found that I only lose weight if I fast on alternative days. I don't overeat or undereat. I did have diabetes for 25 years and am 62. If I fall off the wagon I gain 10 pounds in a couple of days. (I have plenty of weight to lose)
Loved this conversation, thank you Kelly! I do have an upcoming appt with Dani this winter, and am excited to see how she'll help me with my thyroid autoimmune, and carnivore life.
Re: feeling "waterlogged." I have severe dysautonomia, so my electrolytes are whacky, and I've learned that if I start feeling waterlogged it means I'm low in sodium and potassium. If I drink some water with added salt and cream of tartar, it takes the sloshing in my stomach away (I imagine it changes the osmotic balance, enabling the water that's been in there to go where it needed to go), and often I can drink much more than I'd already gotten waterlogged drinking. Also that's usually my cure for headaches. I've been playing with amounts and frequencies for years now, and hoping that this new carnivore thing will help regulate all this, but if anybody else can use the info I thought I'd throw it out there.
@@joanneclark8256 Oh yeah that's a normal part of my life. Though it's mostly continually overheated. I'm fully menopausal now and they claim it's from that, but it just seems to be a lack of ability to regulate temperature. (It is a little better now than it was a year ago, but not much.)
Kelly I wish you had time to do more videos than you currently are doing. You are wonderful AND my favorite carnivore channel. I like your common sense approach along with your bubbly personality. Sure love you!
This is challenging to navigate partly because of programming and the other is being willing to experiment. I did strict carnivore for 12 days, didn't loose a pound. The wonderful outcome has been getting off of processed foods and carbs. I feel great. Thanks for the video.
This episode has had some great guidance - Thank you so much. My body went out of whack, post menopause, and nothing has worked. I now know I need to add more meat, more daily calories and more fat (totally the opposite of how I successfully lived my life until menopause, and the opposite of what my GP Dr. has recommended that I do, post menopause).
It's true... I forget that "that's all I eat"! and, indeed, I eat too little (1400 calories per day, 20% protein + 80% fat) . But I have difficulty eating (swallowing) more... even without looking at the macros: at the end of the day, if I count, I ate the same. 😕
I have been carnivore for over 3 years now. My health (physical and mental) has improved greatly, but I haven't lost the weight I need to lose. I mostly eat ground beef and pork shoulder steaks, 2+ pounds a day. I lift heavy things at work and walk a couple miles every day. I was already post menopausal when I started. Not sure if that is a factor. I'm happy with my health improvements and don't plan on ever going back, but I really wish my inner health showed on the outside. I think it's time I get some tests done.
I was listening to other keto people on UA-cam, about eating less fat on keto (with the "gotta burn my own fat theory")....I was losing energy. We've been Keto 4 years and want to lose about 20 more pounds. I went back, to eating to satisfied and I'm losing again!!!!!!!!! and my energy is back.
I lost weight slowly over 2 as I was carnivore (30 lbs) Healing had to happen first. The only issues I had were getting sick often.. colds pretty frequently.. that may have been tied to not eating enough varied in my meat based diet. I’m working with a natural path to address that though nutrient testing and adjusting :) great show! Keep up the good work, N=1
Awww my 2 favorites! What a wealth of knowledge between you two! 👏 This was just what I needed to hear as always! Thanks for always spreading the encouragement and love ❤️
I can’t wait to meet with Dani soon! I have an appointment for a session and like she mentioned, I’ve tried so many things and am trying one last thing before I just say, “it’s life.” I’m 3 years Carnivore, and now having different issues due to post-menopause! Can’t wait for her knowledge to help me. Thanks for sharing this, Kelly!! Kelly, you have been my motivator and shared your wealth of knowledge and experience from the beginning! I love your coaching sessions!
Thank you, Kelly, for such informative content. Until today I had never heard of Dani Conway. You do such a great job as an interviewer, you inform as well as entertain. Speaking of entertaining, I especially love your Carnivore News videos!!! Please make more!
My problem,(I think) is that I am post gastric sleeve and it’s really difficult to eat beef to satiety. It’s also hard to wrap my head around eating so much fat. But I’m getting there. It’s definitely a process
Loved this interview, just started dairy free carnivore, because dairy causes me arthritic pain. Great info and will be just trying to focus on healing and feeling better first. I definitely know I need some healing first. I have been ketovore for awhile and it's just not doing what I need. I am having headaches and fatigue even after being mostly carnivore so hoping I'll see lots of changes. Thank YOU for these great interviews and the precise and perfect questions.
Ive been carnivore for 7 months, in first two i lost all my fat and my trousers started to be loose again ( im nit obese never was, but I trnd to have ups and downs and with short statue, every 2kg shows). But then... I stopped losing and started to gain back that abdominal fat... I know now that its due to the change in my lifestyle, from active plus working out everyday, to sedentary and eating the same 🤦🏻♀️, its narch now and ill be active again, hope itl all go again easy
What about us that can't walk yet ( I can stand up for about 2 ,3 or 4 minutes. With my walker I can get to the truck. But my knees cartilage is gone & my bones are not all there anymore. ) my husband and I are on day 8.he lost 5 lbs I only lost 1/2 lbs. But my blood sugar is better. And he is still able to work. Thanks and GOD BLESS
I am a newbie. Just began yesterday. I have an issue leaving behind ketchup and sauce for pulled pork and a bit of honey for am tea or coffee. The sauce for the pork does have sugar in it, however, I only use a minute amount. I dont enjoy things "saucy" anyway. And Yes, I have the gum addiction....but the gum with zyletol. I have a customer service type of job and I chew gum to keep from saying WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO SAY.....
Great information. I love that I am constantly learning what works for me, and getting the tools and info to find out what works and does not work for me.
I simply CANNOT eat enough calories! I get full on 1 1/2 burger Pattie’s. I FORCE myself to eat 3 eggs. If I eat when I’m hungry, I can’t fast. Frustrating.
Me too. My personal trainer keeps telling me to eat more to lose fat and gain muscle but it’s so hard on this diet. I think I might need to up my fat but I get so nauseous easily. Hard to find a balance with fat. I tried this diet in variations many times. My first time I lost 30lbs in over a month. I only ate ground beef, steaks, and butter. Currently I’m eating any meat with butter. Might switch back to only beef for progress.
I stopped sugar and was eating clean and losing steadily but when I added sugar back to my morning coffee, even with changing nothing else, I stopped losing. Clearly I can't have sugar/carbs. Maybe someday if I stop being insulin resistant I could have some and be ok but I clearly can't get there by allowing any sugar or carbs.
Great info! I remind myself to eat enough all the time because my appetite isn't strong as a carnivore. Must say that you both have such beautiful hair!!!
Please do a day in your life, may be simple for you, but it would be so helpful- how much/what you do for working out, you drink coffee? How do you order at restaurants?
Well, this is cool! I just looked and apparently Dani and I are just a few miles apart! I’m in Roseville and will be looking into talking with her. Thanks Kelly for this interview!
Great interview!❤️❤️❤️ NTP’s are a great resource for not only losing weight but gaining better health. I’ve been seeing one for a little over 3 years and it’s been worth every penny.
I am one of those Ketovore's that has been all carnivore for more than a year, then ketovore and now carnivore again and not lost my COVID 20 lbs. for all this time, so frustrated!
Thank you Kelly and Dani for your informative video. You are becoming my go to though I check the other Carnivore influencers. Your webcast guests that stressed that some are under eating yesterday. Two changes I have made: Since I am new to Carnivore (6 weeks so far), that it I need to eat more and increase my fat. I have lost a lot of water and probably a few fat pounds. I don't weigh myself or I will get crazy obsessive. I have test clothing I use that I could not get over my thighs in the beginning of my carnivore journey. I can get them over my thighs and butt and zip up - new shorts, one skinny shorts fit comfortably. Second change is, I am eating 80/20 fat/protein as close as possible and intermittent fasting from 4 to 8 hour eating window give or take - I have always naturally have eaten this way even when I did not know about intermittent fasting. I feel grateful for the anecdotal info that is practically helpful. You women are angels!
I've been carnivore for 1 month now and while i have definitely noticed an inprovement in my mental health I'm only just seeing the difference in my energy levels now. I used to consume high amounts of foods with oxalates daily. Loads of almonds spinach a litre of 2 of almond milk protein smoothies filled with blueberries spinach and almonds and had unexplainable pain for a year or so with no correlationit could be my "healthy" diet. The pain is gone!! My body is definitely thanking me for eating this way. I only started this woe to get summer body ready for cairns 😂
Thank you for the good advice. You had typed that if loosing weight to exclude cheese & heavy cream- 😩 so apparently this has been the cause of my stall. I’ve been having 3 (8oz) coffee with cream & butter and snacking on cheese - thinking this was helping on my fat intake- it’s all so confusing
That much coffee might actually be contributing to your stall. It causes an increase in the stress hormone, cortisol, which makes you store and/or hang onto fat.
Thank you, it gets so confusing when I see others drinking coffee all day (dr Cywes) I never drank coffee (and learned to drink it with cream, butter & salt) until becoming keto then switched to carnivore. what about crystal light? Or would you suggest water only ?
@@Kimabsher I know it can get confusing sometimes. It takes some trial and error to figure out what works for your body. Don’t beat yourself up for it; you are learning along the way. ❤️ I would definitely cut out the coffee if you’re not attached to it. Often times, you’re getting enough fat from the food, so there’s no need to drink your fat in coffee. For beverages, many carnivores enjoy a flavored electrolyte drink (like Redmond Relyte or Ultima) or sparkling water. I hope this helps, and you are able to figure out what works for you. 😊
@@Kimabsher coffee but.little cream and bitter isnt neesed unless youre starving. if the goal is weight loss, eat real food and no need to pile on. you want 50% of the fat you use to come from the body instead of from added fat. i found eating a fatty meat to fill half or 2/3 plate and the veggies with a small amount of lard or butter and try water and salt only between meals. extra fat is a tool/crutch when between meals to keep you i ketosis instead of cheating or feeling "starving". dairy is dangerous. I limited coffee to 2 cups a day with whipping cream and cheese with meals to get the snack mentality out if my system. you can do this and remember how you feel. take care
Needed this been doubting myself but only at 74 days full carnivore.. going to cut the cheese and great point was made about gout and processed meat.. I have definitely found that. Start carnivore while have a gout attack as a test to prove most gout advise wrong, instead keeping inflammation down..
Kelly you are so funny! I thought the drinking pizza comment was on purpose LOLOLOLOL! I am also stalling but all the comment about weekend carb eating struck me. I may sneak a Hershey's Kiss in, just one! a week! EEEK!! Sabotage! OK consistency is key, stop STOP STOP sneaking a couple sugar carbs! I am losing weight but at a snail's pace. I just need to forbid it consistently! Thanks for the encouragement!
I jumped on this carnivore train 5 days ago. Getting on this way of eating I came from keto. Love the weight lose but my main concern is psoriasis on soles of feet and palms of hands. I see a small degree of healing 5 days in. Going for my yearly blood work in one week and physical early September. My dr will probably die when I tell her I’m on a carnivore diet. But I won’t be swayed, as she’s overweight and her assistant nurse is extremely obese! I just don’t get it! My main ?… what tests should I ask for besides the ones my dr will generally do? I’m going to ask for Vitamin D level.. for sure! Getting out in the sun.. Is a huge factor for me! I feel good, already I’m not craving anything.. which is mind blowing! Thank you both! A response would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you! I have been Ketovore for a couple months now! I started, not to loose weight (although I need to), but because I have Epilepsy. I have not lost any weight, but I am horrible at eating too much or not eating enough! I think my hunger signal is broken too! I cannot find a good balance! I don't drink enough water either!
I have been using the cronometer ap to calculate fat for the 80/20 ratio but a side benefit is it also gives my % of daily calories for each meal. As I plan my next meal, its very easy to add/delete foods to achieve the desired calories and fat/protein ratio.
I find it very hard to wrap my head around "eat more" when I come from a history of roller coaster dieting. I'm trying to eat until I'm "comfortably stuffed", but when I hear how much others are eating compared to me, I think I should be eating more and increasing my fat intake, but another part of me is telling me to eat less and portion control! I lost weight on keto, but gained 4lbs back over the winter (to many keto snacks), wanted to shed them doing the carnivore challenge in January , ended up gaining an additional 5lbs instead. I feel frustrated. Doing a bbb&e challenge right now with a 6 hour eating window. (day 4, and yes gained weight already 😞)
So I just did some labs with my doctor a week ago he said don’t get any vitamin D your good there. It’s in the “normal good” range (according to them) then I listened to this and a good amount is 80-100 so naturally I went and checked my test results again… it’s 55. Maybe I will get some more!
Also think about the fact that it's not a static number. Your numbers might be great today but if you stop taking the supplement it might go back down. MOST people who don't live like a native tropical person are deficient in D3-K2, or if you have a weak immune sytem, I would keep taking at least a maintenance level. Depends on age too.
I'm hovering around 89.7 and 91.3 but I'm losing only fats and gaining muscles without exercise, the scale does not know what I lost, use the mirror to understand what's going on in your body 😊
I have the double MTHFR gene mutation and have been taking Methylcobalamin for years. It relieved my depression and malaise. One month on carnivore (only pastured organic meats) and I THINK I should keep taking it but haven't found an experienced medical professional yet to advise me.
August 12 marks 1 month and only 5 lbs down. I eat mostly beef and eggs with butter and occasionally 2oz cheese and can tell my clothes fit better but the scale is not budging. I am a little frustrated because I eat 2 times a day at 12 noon - and around 7. I eat until I am satiated and can’t get much more than that. Usually a pound or less a meal. I think I just have not given it time
Hi. I wanted to tell you that black tea slightly watered down was perfect to drink without any sugar or artificial sweeteners. I couldn't believe it. I drank organic original blend that is used in Boba tea
Thank you for sharing about the weight. I started about 3 1/2 months. Started weight lifting at home. And I’ve actually gained weight. I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been. Though my auto immune symptoms are gone.. my menopausal symptoms have gone. This weight gain has been hard. I was also a vegan for 37 years so there’s that! Oh I really do NEED testing done. I would really love to get some tests and guidance with Dannie. How can I reach her? I feel like I need all these tests and I’m ready to move forward and figure out what’s goin on inside!
ok this is a huge eye opener for me. I have been eating 900 to 1000 calories a day. under 10 carbs. Carbs coming from eggs and cheese. been actually gaining weight on that low of calories. Tomorrow I am going to make changes. See how it goes. Been eating this way for about 8 years.
@@christinearmington Well I went to eating more straight meat less cheese. I have lost about 10 of the 20 pounds i gained but it is painfully slow. Maybe partly because I am 73 years old. I am active. Being winter and for here a mild snow year i have not been as active. Even so I have a house full of plants 5 cats and a dog to care for. hoping summer yard work time will speed up my weight loss. BUT on the good side of the weight gain my face filled out a little bit helping me to look a little less wrinkled.
WOW...sound was much better on this video!! 👍 And what a great video!!!💞. One of the best videos I watched on nutrition... Going binge watch all your videos✌️ Thank you.
This was so helpful thank you. I saved Dani's info in case I need her in the future. I am also in a new place, don't know anyone or any doctor who agrees with what I believe.
After a recent hospital stay they put me on thyroid meds. Now I can't lose weight and my blood sugar is going in the wrong direction. The thyroid meds are the only thing that changed so this video explained a lot.
What can be done to lower cortisol levels when you are an insulin dependent diabetic? Have lived very stressful jobs as a nurse, much less stressful now and only working part-time 2 days a week but for 10-hour shifts to take care of a multiple complex healthcare child so she can go to school. That accommodates my inability to stand or walk very far because standing and walking are in short bursts and most of the time is just being there with her in the classroom in case I'm needed as a nurse. I'm trying to figure out what I can do to lower my cortisol naturally and not getting straight answers from physicians. But I have had stress this year as both my mother and father passed away within a month of each other in their nineties back in January and February. And dealing with all of that as the healthcare power of attorney and also the eldest and also helping deal with a state issues afterwards for the last 2 yearswith dtressful siblings. So hearing you guys talk has helped me take a different look at stress but still not sure how to decrease the cortisol level. I guess that has been more stressful perhaps than I'd realized.
I found once I got rid of seed oils and looked for hidden sugars and additives. The goal is to feel better; your fat will melt away over time. I look at it in terms of how I think; if I feel bad, I have done something that will stop feeling good. I also fast because, frankly, if I could fast all the time, I feel so much better. And this complies significantly with how many families lived in history. Some of how you believe we live is based on our genetic history, the historical genetic code based on the father. This code is like pre-programming on your body, and in my family, they where farmers for 700 years in Norway, and that means living in pretty sparse conditions, working hard and eating not high on the lamb. Often, they miss meals, and that pre-programming is what I am working with, so I think fasting does so well for me. When I went to Norway, there was something different about the food; I dropped weight and felt amazing. But then an average breakfast is high in fat if they happen to eat it. And you do not need a lot of fat to keep you the day or the next couple of days.
13 months into Lion Diet and still plateaued for months, still constipation issues, the only things that seem to work are very high beef fat and lower amount of beef, which just gives me stomach issues, insomnia and depression. 😖
Check out Elliot Overton’s channel. He specializes in helping keto/carnivores who are not achieving healing by eating meat alone. He did a video with 4 case studies, and one of his patients was experiencing severe constipation and gut pain after quite some time on carnivore. He was able to resolve the problem for the patient with some supplementation. Here’s the video ua-cam.com/video/kAGCyW4GBuU/v-deo.html Wishing you all the best! 🙏
2% or 5% Lugol's iodine?
I was told that at 41. My 40s have been horrible. Carnivore is my last stop before 50.
Really helpful. Thx!
I would love to see a channel-or at least more time given-to those of us who are 60+.
Is it just me or do all carnivores just look freaking amazing?
No I think the same thing.
I have wanted to stop a couple times but did not.
Cause In the end, I always realize that I feel better,, is that crazy or what ? LOL
God bless you.
RIGHT??? They have amazing skin…and look WONDERFUL. I’m trying to go carnivore. Little tough, though. But, slowly getting there.
That's one of the things that sold me on this diet. Everyone looks great! If everyone had sunken eyes, funky muscles or blotchy skin etc I'd never have even looked at this as an option.
No. Only the girls.
@@vince1229 Have you seen Dr Chaffee?! 🥵😂
That's awesome, very impressive!!! You should be so proud of yourself, God bless you.
I'm excited to hear you reversed your arthritis. I'm dealing with arthritis and possible palindromic rheumatism that so far carnivore hasn't helped. But I'm feeling better in every other way, so your comment gives me hope. Thank you for this!
Hi do you eat only carnivore? What else do u eat? I'm trying to work out all out.
Amazing and encouraging story! Truly a blessing. I'm hoping this will help me with my arthritis and fat loss as well.
How long did it take you to start losing weight, because I can’t lose a pound, and my blood sugars keep going up and I am very strict carnivore.
Hope it helps someone.
thank you!
You’re gaining weight because you are consuming too many calories
Will try thx
@@ipaintkitchencabinets2069 Definitely not true. I am eating exactly the same but I cut out all coconut products and never having been obese, it has affected my mitochondria. I am now eating exactly the same amounts but I’m back in ketosis and have lost the extra 10 pounds.
@@catrinaitaliano8755 Coconut products are high in calories, by removing all coconut products you’ve reduced your calories and have lost 10 pounds. It’s all about calories whether you choose to believe it or not. Facts are facts.
I lost 30lbs then stalled. It wasn’t until I started omad that it started to drop again! So happy to be getting rid of my chronic illness and weight!
Thank you for this! I am 4 weeks in and have only lost like 10-15 lbs and I have a LOT to lose. Glad to hear it should pick up if I stick with it.
I love you saying that you're happy for no reason!
I'm definitely on the side of not staying consistent with eating enough , then eating whatever I can ! Dani has the most epic hair ! The video I needed today...
Thank you 🙏🏼
I agree! She reminds me of my sister, she has hair like that and mine is bone straight.
Lol, I was thinking, I need to get my hair permed like that again, I love curls. Mine is wavy.
Oh my goodness, all of this information is so good, but the whole time I could not get over how absolutely BEAUTIFUL Dani’s hair is!
@@craigluhr7243 try eating more... Your body's going to hold on to weight until the hormones feel balanced and your insulin comes down
Looking forward to meeting with you!
@@elizabethstern4812 do you still eat 3 lbs a day?
my body weight did not drop a lot in the last three weeks of carnivore. about half a kg per week.
but i noticed body composition changing a tiny bit as well. so i guess there is more fat loss but also a bit of muscle growth (the muscles around the chest feel very present somehow.
take home message:
* the scale shows only weight loss, not fat loss
* almost half a kg of weight loss per week is still ok. it adds up over time

Your notes added at the bottom of the screen are so incredibly helpful.
I don't care if I lose weight. Losing BODY FAT on the other hand. That's my goal.
Quick reference to summarise advice: "Weight loss happens when the body is healthy & in balance" --> don't guess - test! ;)
1. Reduce carb intake. Cut out all sugar & processed foods, seed/vege oils & gluten
2. Focus on resistance work outs (strength/muscle-building improves our metabolism) over cardio (can create more stress/cortisol/hormone & blood sugar response) walking is a good option
3. Eat nutrient dense foods (ie: animal protein)
4. Get more sleep (blood sugar/cortisol spikes & GI imbalances can wake you up)
5. Go outside, everyday - regardless of the weather (Vitamin D is essential) & socialise with others
6. Keep well-hydrated with electrolytes (headaches, fatigue, nausea, leg cramps can indicate not enough or too much!)
7. Ensure you have enough iodine + fat in your diet 60%
Thank you 🙏🏽
Where are people getting enough iodine eating an extreme all beef/rib-eye steak fad "carnivore diet"?

I'm ready to do what i need to do to finally lose my extra weight and inflammation and gain health back. Thank you, Kelly!
I do not drink coffee ☕
I was always a heavy tea drinker, now I am happier to not have any tea.,,weird..

Do you at all suffer freezing to over heat in seconds?
@@joanneclark8256 Oh yeah that's a normal part of my life. Though it's mostly continually overheated. I'm fully menopausal now and they claim it's from that, but it just seems to be a lack of ability to regulate temperature. (It is a little better now than it was a year ago, but not much.)

Great content! And I really enjoy your comments posted at the bottom of the screen. Thanks for your hard work and effort to educate us ❤️
Thanks for the info ladies. You both look beautiful, healthy and are glowing
Loved this video, as I am of the age where low fat and calorie restriction is burned into my brain. Thanks for all you BOTH do ❤️
It was definitely a transition from “fat free!”
Calorie restriction is still necessary to stay lean, even on carnivore.
Kelly, you're so positive and inspiring! I watch for nutrition and lifestyle ideas but also for the relentless cheer and positivity.
Testing will be super helpful!

Is heavy cream and cream cheese an ok way to increase fat or does it need to be animal fat trimmings specifically due to nutrient density?
Great info! I remind myself to eat enough all the time because my appetite isn't strong as a carnivore. Must say that you both have such beautiful hair!!!
Thanks 🙏🏼
This was absolutely AMAZING!! Thank y'all.
I think Kelly is great. She is so funny. And I love her accent.
Hi neighbor!
Great interview!❤️❤️❤️ NTP’s are a great resource for not only losing weight but gaining better health. I’ve been seeing one for a little over 3 years and it’s been worth every penny.
I am one of those Ketovore's that has been all carnivore for more than a year, then ketovore and now carnivore again and not lost my COVID 20 lbs. for all this time, so frustrated!
move yo butt!!! lol same with me...now im walkin a ton and hitting the gym also increased my water!
@@soofitnsexy just so you know, workout both cardio and weights no less than 6 days a week--squats with 50lbs, presses with 90lbs need i go on
@@joshane2058 quit the cardio and maybe cut down to 3 days a week. See if that helps. You might be raising your cortisol by over exercising.
Such a good interview! TY so much! Really helpful
Thanks to both of you! Helped me getting back on track 👍😊
What a great interview! Dani is such a fantastic wealth of information! Love her individualized approach! ♥️
Thank you so much, Linda! I agree with you completely! She’s great! ….and so are YOU! Thank you so much for watching! ❤️
Thanks Linda ♥️
I would definitely cut out the coffee if you’re not attached to it.
Thank you for the advice - I appreciate your help😊
Dios mío, qué pelo rizado maravilloso...! 🤩
You two have made my day with your fantastic educated advice. Thank you for all you do.
My body must be really messed up! 3 months in and no weight loss. Recomposition started early and then stopped. Now I’m back to where I started. Help?
It's hard to find someone who understands all of the nuances to this woe and health
17:20 thyroid panel isn't enough. May benefit from iodine
You both look amazing! ❤
Congratulations 🎊
Thank you for sharing about the weight. I started about 3 1/2 months. Started weight lifting at home. And I’ve actually gained weight. I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been. Though my auto immune symptoms are gone.. my menopausal symptoms have gone. This weight gain has been hard. I was also a vegan for 37 years so there’s that! Oh I really do NEED testing done. I would really love to get some tests and guidance with Dannie. How can I reach her? I feel like I need all these tests and I’m ready to move forward and figure out what’s goin on inside!
Some people need to remove salt and dairy..raw dairy is much more digestible though.
ok this is a huge eye opener for me. I have been eating 900 to 1000 calories a day. under 10 carbs. Carbs coming from eggs and cheese. been actually gaining weight on that low of calories. Tomorrow I am going to make changes. See how it goes. Been eating this way for about 8 years.
How’s it going? What did you change?
@@christinearmington Well I went to eating more straight meat less cheese. I have lost about 10 of the 20 pounds i gained but it is painfully slow. Maybe partly because I am 73 years old. I am active. Being winter and for here a mild snow year i have not been as active. Even so I have a house full of plants 5 cats and a dog to care for. hoping summer yard work time will speed up my weight loss. BUT on the good side of the weight gain my face filled out a little bit helping me to look a little less wrinkled.
Great video with so much helpful info! It's also the beautiful hair video!!
WOW...sound was much better on this video!! 👍 And what a great video!!!💞. One of the best videos I watched on nutrition... Going binge watch all your videos✌️ Thank you.
Wow you two are Beautiful!!!! Thank you for the great advice.
Kelly thanks for the great video. Love when you share important information. I saw Dani twice today and will be reaching out to her for help.
This was so helpful thank you. I saved Dani's info in case I need her in the future. I am also in a new place, don't know anyone or any doctor who agrees with what I believe.
Great video ladies! 🤩 thank you 🙏🏼
Thank you so much Kelly, love you and your interviews, learn so.. much, only I've been having withdrawal symptoms waiting for this video 😄❤🇦🇺
After a recent hospital stay they put me on thyroid meds. Now I can't lose weight and my blood sugar is going in the wrong direction. The thyroid meds are the only thing that changed so this video explained a lot.
Yep, low B12 because I have the MTHFR mutation and low vitamin D even though I live in South Louisiana.
Wow, thanks for mentioning the difference between deli meat and real unprocessed meat.
Here’s the video ua-cam.com/video/kAGCyW4GBuU/v-deo.html
Wishing you all the best! 🙏
Grain feed meat make that. Try only grass feed meat....organic.
