I actually started as “dirty” Keto for several months (with the keto snacks and treats), then went Clean Whole Foods Keto for several months, then Ketovore and have been full Carnivore for the past year. I still drink one cup of “fatty” coffee every morning (with heavy cream and grass fed butter), I sometimes will have a half an avocado or some low carb veg with my meat, and some occasional berries but for the most part I eat fatty (mostly red) meat, seafood and eggs, butter and cook my steaks in beef tallow. I feel best when I keep my fat macros high (70-80%) and I eat 2 meals per day with intermittent fasting, with a 18/6 (6 hour eating window) so I stay in Ketosis as long as possible. I have done a few 24 hour fasts just bc I wasn’t hungry, but I don’t enjoy feeling hungry so I don’t force myself to fast. I hope this helps!😊
@@majafleur9646 what is your point? Are you the carnivore police??? The textbook definition of a carnivore is any animal who consumes 70% or more of their diet is animal products. I have been on and off carnivore for nearly 10 years. I am currently working through a health scare that has made me commit 100%. NOT doing carnivore is a huge mistake.
I felt a lot better after just a month or two but I worked with my psychiatrist to wean off my psych meds over 6 mos to a year and then I’ve been symptom free since the. And off all meds😊
100% agree love that carnivore is just easy! Batch cooking, shopping, was so stressful each week now it’s in & out of the store & easy cooking no prep. That’s why I love it.
Thank you thank you thank you. It’s the old adage ‘Rome was not built in a day’. Years and years of poor four choices/eating will not resolve overnight. I am 70 and have only in the last few years admitted to myself that I had a very real fear of going hungry, and more recently that I have battled food addiction for so much of my life. Praise God I am now on the road to improving my health and vitality with lots of meat and fat no carbs.
That’s funny as I too have realized that my carb addiction stems from my fear of being hungry. I have no idea where that comes from as I’ve never been denied food in my life though I was denied rubbish food as a child and told to eat fruit and veggies first, when of course I craved anything sugary. Good luck with your journey.

Same here. Been carnivore for 6 months and just realized its the addiction that is gone for me! I never reallly looked at food for me as being such! But it was!
Thank you both for questioning the efficacy of Fasting for all low-carb adherents. If it works for some folks, great. But it’s not for me, having spent my first eighteen years semi-starved. OMAD and fasting works for me. I eat a hyrbid Keto/canivore diet. The message to take from this video is not to eat processed foods full of carbs ie starch and sugar typically wheat and grains based foods with all the deadly oils and additives. Eat whole foods from fresh.
Fasting doesn't work when the metabolism is wreaked, and your then going to have carbs to break the fast. That's a see saw lifestyle and more stressful for the system, and the body will go into starvation mode and keep the weight on.

My meal on repeat lately is a prawn omelette each day usually for breakfast. 4 eggs and a handful of frozen prawns sometimes with a little garlic in butter then add scrambled egg mixture of 3 or 4 eggs with a hint of pure cream and greated parmasen cheese and salt. Cook and flip and serve. Happy comfy food also healthy.
My journey into carnivore actually started with one of Lisa Wiedeman's video where she talked about eye health and just mentioned that she is not only not using any of the highly processed seed oils but also follows a carnivore diet. This was the first seed that started me on my research and eventually a carnivore lifestyle. I have been on carnivore diet since late October last year and have seen a lot of positive changes. From a body composition perspective I'm today (nearly 60 y.o.) like I was in my early thirties, gone are GERD and skin problems, as I realized later I probably had undiagnosed t2 diabetes, that now I don't have any signs of. Unfortunately carnivore didn't miraculously cure my sick eye, but hopefully removing a lot of underlying issues it is going to help me to preserve vision in my other eye. Becoming a carnivore wasn't the easiest of journeys, I could not get rid of diarrheav for about three months and my wife had serious issues with oxalate dumping, but eventually we managed to overcome these problems. To those who are at a very beginning of their journey I'd like to say not to get discouraged, as you will start feeling real health benefits six to nine months after your lifestyle change. It took a lot of years to develop all the problems we have, so it doesn't take overnight to get rid of them all. Thank you Judy for this guest and thank you Lisa for being the first ray of light that has shown me the way!
Good to hear this..I'm only on my 32nd day on this journey. Have IBS..so far I have lost weight..I'm still experiencing weakness and heart palpitations on and off. Carnivore is the only way of eating that has healed my body. No joint pain, my hair is soft, my skin is soft, my skin has cleared. When I ate vegan and a ton of plants & grains I always felt ill.
9:02 If anyone gets the chance, try to attend one of Dr. Weidemans carnivore retreats. It's an intimate way to learn so much. Carnivore is not right for everyone because you have to change it up for those who can not or will not follow through. And that means getting through the time your body is reseting. Oxalate purging, keto flu, getting fat adapted, sugar withdrawal. Carnivore works for everyone because it is our native diet! So don't read to much into the way she said Carnivore doesn't work for everyone. Not true, everyone is not ready to commit to Carnivore, this is true!!❤❤ Good luck!!
@johndempsey99 i find it is uncommon for a carnivore fluencer to say it might not work, especially in the weight loss department. However, your experience might be different from mine, so thank you for your comment and I wish you well.

As a cake maker for over 30 years its saying no to baking to myself and everyone else. Its a huge change and sometimes when i feel too happy or syressed put i might eat a treat and its a set back each time. So pushing it out with better choices is the best way. I’ve been 3 years Ketovore. It’s the only way for me to control my sugar addiction that I’ve had my whole life. I find it so easy now being near the sugary temptations while out. I’m sure it’s the full fat high protein food I’m eating. It’s so liberating to not be controlled by this carb addiction. The only problem is getting enough food when out dining. I usually have a 300gram steak or order a burger and only eat the patty, bacon and cheese. Sometimes I’m paying for the other stuff that comes with the purchase (if you say don’t include it they don’t discount the cost) but that’s a small price ! to pay to be free of this addiction. I try not to cheat as it really is not good for me going forward. Easier to not give in to temptation, ever. Makes the next temptation easier to always say no. Good luck everyone on your own journey. I’m 61, just off HRT due to suspect breast lumps and live in Australia.
I feel the best when eating only ruminant animals. Chicken isn't as nourishing to me, and I gave up pork and bottom feeding seafood several years ago. Carnivore diet has changed my life, and it's been less than four months. I can't see ever going back to high carbs and oxalates. I feel like I'm getting younger, and I'll be 63 next month.
I learned about the power of speaking out loud to my body about my cravings. On the inside I said “no”, while on the outside I gave in to “yes” and ate bags of chips. But over time, remembering how crappy and tired I felt 12 hrs after snacking away repeatedly, caused my outer”no” to rise up more often , until it was easy to say no without salivating and visualizing potato chips. I also began going to bed the moment potato chip thoughts crept into my head space. These days I don’t allow negative food talk or thoughts to hijack me. I acknowledge that they show up, look at them and say, “ok, chip craving, go away! You’re not welcome in my head space. Leave now! “ The power of my “no , spoken out loud OVER TIME, has really worked for me. No is no, inside and out!😊
Please do your CAC score (Calcium Artery Score) Dr. W, just to prove it to everyone. My Mom has been Atkins keto and low carb on and off since the 1970s. She even had us Keto in the 70s. She still has a perfect ZERO score on her scan every time.
You both looked great, I guess I have been trying off and on but never see it through . Listen to this show. I think now I’m going to go in fully with carnivore!!
Lisa has such good insight into food addiction and disordered eating. I’m 3 years Carnivore and still find myself eating huge plates of meat. I am very strict with the quality but the only thing that stops me eating too much is that I am sooo full and simply cannot eat any more. I have recognised that I still have that tendency to overeat, but once I’ve walked away from the table, the thoughts are gone and I won’t be hungry for quite a few hours.
I still drink organic coffee with raw cream and stevia and have lost 26 pounds and my body is healing. 6 months in. I only eat New York Strip, eggs, bacon, butter, tallow occasional lamb and occasional shrimp lobster and cheese. The fat keeps me satisfied. I was a serious over eater but since I started this diet and higher fat my body tells me your done eating. That never happened to me before.
Sound's similar to me. My breakfast treat is prawns in butter with 4 scrambled eggs with parmasen cheese and a hint of pure cream and salt and cook it over the cooked prawns like an omelette. I also love eye fillets and lamb and mince and fish and quality organic coffee. But I expect to give even coffee up eventually, too, because it will only induce gastro when on a carnivore diet. Seems to me carbs need coffee but carnivore doesn't need any extra dopamine hits nor assistance in digestion like the S.A.D

So true; it’s not one size fits all. And food is just one piece of the puzzle of health and well being. It’s individual trial and error, and trusting ourselves instead of looking for external validation.
Im sorry, but this conflicting conversation about all the conflicting content about the conflicting stories of the conflicting...this was all very conflicting. Your pod cast was great up to this point. Tell the story and tell it true, it is up to all of us to research a topic several times. Once i find the guys and gals that i trust, i don't go looking for someone else to try to change my mind. The other thing that is more helpful than most people trying to convince you, is to listen to real people telling their story...so much powerful information. Dave mac...has a hell of a podcast that all of his guest tell their stories. We all can pick up powerful information and no one to argue with, because they are telling you their story and their why and who they listened too. Awesome stuff!!❤❤

I'm two years Carni and my husband too. I shop online I have repeat items easy, and no temptations and cooking so easy. We went cold turkey and did repeat foods for the first few months ie, bacon and eggs, burgers and eggs, steak and eggs savory mince using 3 different meats, lamb, pork, beef with sea salt and a little white pepper. We are aged 77 and 68 and haven't had a cold or any virus for years now 🎉 My plan on holiday is to eat as much meat, fish and eggs and occasional cheese. Even a beef curry isn't as bad as eating load's of carbs and salads that. We order our food with no salad no fries and we get looks but don't care. For a treat now I can make keto biscuits or Carnivor ice cream but we have no real addictions now kicking carbs I thought would be really hard but it wasn't and the higher protein foods we are satisfied and have no cravings now. It's for life now because we love feeling so well. ❤
This is such an under represented topic. Thank you for this. So many perspectives that are just completely absent from other carnivore/animal based videos
Just a follow-up from the suggestion Judy gave me in a comment on my comment on the last video I watched. She suggested activated charcoal to process out toxins and I've been taking them for 2 weeks and for the first time in 4 years my face is finally starting to clear up! So I agree sometimes you need something else besides carnivore.
Great idea, I used long ago when I consumed alcohol. Would you please share the protocol for charcoal. I recall 2 hr before/after eating or meds , so not to interfere with nutrient absorption . Is bedtime best. I recall with plenty of water, to prevent constipation. But then I have to get up while sleeping to use restroom. Maybe during IF times. Thank you!
I can't tell you how much I appreciate this video! I understand more about what I am dealing with concerning my eating issues! This video has definitely given me some things to think about. Thank you!
i am soooo amazed so far on my results after only 11 days i am down 16 lbs and feeling great no keto flu at all ( knock on wood ) i must of had alot of inflammation staying the coarse for at least 90 days to maybe until March of 2025 cheers from Vulcan Canada
@@GOLFADDICT65 If you’re like many of us you’ll feel so much better in 90 days you won’t want to stop. The best is to never be hungry or to never crave again.
Bacon has roughly a ration of almost equal fat & protein. Pork belly is pure and you can cure it with butcher salt at home. So eating 1-2 pounds of meat per day with bacon / pork belly being a significant portion is fine. Dr. Jason Fung has mentioned a Bacon & Egg fast. It is really hard to want to eat a pound of bacon and a dozen eggs. You might eat that over (3) meals.
I can so relate. Seven years carnivore but I do fall off the wagon. Even a tiny tangerine will lead me to eating hubby’s carbs. I do have recurring foot nerve pain on carnivore so I start thinking I need some vitamin c. So I’m caught between carnivore and experimenting with foods to counter gout. One thing that helps is keeping my protein to a minimum of 60 grams a day and upping the fat to 140 grams a day.
I agree that nerve issues are related to B vitamins. I love Seeking Health's B complex with choline, they have the best bioavailable forms in their supps.
Starting carnivore again. I've done it before, and I lost weight every time. I also felt much better. My problem is consistency. If I stay consistent, I will meet my goals.
When I eliminated sweet TASTE I felt much less drawn to it at all No diet pop etc (never used pricey sweet paks of electrolytes) Butter was my fat of choice but crisped beef fat is awesome also. Fat satiation subs for the need for sweet.
Great video the insight was fabulous. One day I pulled into a convenience store. I was working and that little samples of the frozen yogurt and I just had one with an hour. I went to two other ice cream places and got big Sunday and that’s when I realize I said oh God, I haven’t made an impact but recently we are working on a job it was over 100° and this guy shows up with all these little tiny bowls and a big thing of ice cream. I took the smallest bowl I could find just a sample and I had it and I didn’t need anymore. It was like not as good, so hopefully things are starting to work on me, but I have a lot
The message to take from this video is not to eat processed foods full of carbs ie starch and sugar typically wheat and grains based foods with all the deadly oils, sweetners, preservatives and additives. Cook and eat whole foods from fresh.
I drink LMNT all day it gives me zero carb cravings. Stevia doesn’t do that to me. 90 days of absolutely zero carbs or sugar and I have zero cravings. And the electrolytes help me a lot.
When i started keto I was scared to death that it would be impossible to stick too. I had a friend who had successfully lost and kept off weight and they suggested that if I just jumped in 100% it would seem much harder so set up strict but realistic guidelines and that worked for me. Basically my guidelines were: strict keto (>20g total carbs/day) during the work week (mon morn until off work Friday) and the freedom to choose non keto foods on Saturday, what is served when having super at a friends and just choosing the most keto option that I enjoy from a restaurant. I felt like I had a lot of freedom so it wasn’t ’restricting’… i found as time went on and as the result became more and more obvious I wanted the carbs less and less. Over ~75lbs lost and kept off for a decade and a half now… about 95% Carnivore now because it’s what i enjoy… i do season with hot peppers and leeks that I grow myself and will cheat now and then with something sweet like on my birthday I had an Asian pear… i do find that when eating almost purely meat, I end up eating 1 meal a day… i was about a year in when i learned that it was actually a thing… i just found that the fat/protein based meal i just can’t eat multiple times a day… and now i love how much extra time i have each day.. .
Those electrolytes with sweetners can definetly hinder your progress, if you are a sugar addict. By cutting out all sweet taste, its 100% easier to not want anything sweet. 😊
When I hit a massive weight stall and cut out the flavored electrolytes, it broke my stall. Also, I believe the artificial sweeteners in the electrolytes was triggering my sugar/carb cravings so I took them out and feel a lot better.. And I’m now down to my lowest weight so far too!😊
Not IF you are a sugar addict. We all are addicted to sugar, sugar is in every thing processed. Sugar has 62 different names. Our bodies react negatively to even small amounts of sugar. If you have a cancer that you are not aware of, ...sugar is going to grow that tumor until you become aware of the cancer. So SUGAR IS EVIL....
Does it help with menopause ? I'm 59 and was on patches which did help but it wasn't right for me. It took me 4 attempts to come off them and on the 5 attempt I have been off them for 6months. I'm coping, I have stopped sugars and processed food which has help. Great podcast ladies thank you 😊
This is a fantastic video. I'm on my second round of going on the carnivore lifestyle. I just don't see any other way from me. I have the same disordered eating as this doctor talks about. I never stop at just one or two or three chips. If I have something junky in the house I just eat it all until it's gone. It doesn't last me weeks and weeks like a normal person. When I get on that train it's like an out of control disaster about to happen. I wonder to myself will I ever just be able to be carnivore and occasionally have some of these other things? Or will I have to stay this way on this particular path forever? I don't know. I do know it's not good to look too far ahead and take one day at a time is really important.
@@sunsetstormx Just do it. You can discipline yourself. You are the only one who can help you. Clean out your cabinets and fridge. Stock some burgers and eggs and hard cheese as well as bacon and butter. Then go for it.
I am now on carnivore for over a year. First months my psoriasis cleared up. A few months ago I started having honey nuts and blueberries. Also adapt to people I eat with. I don’t go into binge mode but even like once a week having a little bread or pasta caused my disease to return. I wonder if the disease would go away again if I was stricter to carnivore.
If you were part of my practice, I would recommend going stricter and seeing how you do. If your psoriasis clears, stay there for a while. Then see what threshold (amount and frequency) you can add back blueberries without getting any patches of psoriasis. I don't recommend honey nuts. If you can't do any (organic) blueberries, then you may just need to support the gut for a little while longer on carnivore and see if you can add non-carnivore foods back later. Healing takes time and the internet is not good with sharing the truth that sometimes that time for healing is longer than we wish.

I was absolutely addicted to carbs. The worst carbs, biscuits, sweets, chocolate, cakes etc. I had general anxiety issues too. That has now gone, as has cravings. OMAD and meat and eggs. I’m still learning about carnivore, hoping I can carry on with it. Carbs are so destructive.
When I went to the doctor my blood pressure was always high. I was on bp meds and he wanted me to get an echocardiogram. He must have told them that he expected heart failure and lo and behold they did. I knew it was wrong so I went to the Cleveland clinic. My heart is perfect. It’s 100% (60-65%) I believe the doctor can influence the outcome of a test by telling the testor what to expect.

Your diet is NOT carnivore.
@@majafleur9646 what is your point? Are you the carnivore police???
The textbook definition of a carnivore is any animal who consumes 70% or more of their diet is animal products.
Dr Bart Kay, one of the most prominent carnivore doctors and influencers in the world has mentioned this on many occasions.
But if you insist on trying to police or bully others, that is your right so go right ahead.
You sound silly however when you do so. 😊🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐮🐮🐮🐮🐮🐮
That is Ketovore.

NOT doing carnivore is a huge mistake.

I have been on a relapse for a whole year. Very difficult to start again. This video is very helpful.

That sounds yummy

The small amount of people she hosts allows her to really dig into the why. She allows you to ask all those questions and to verbalize your concerns in a perfect manner. Finally a CARNIVORE who straight up says it doesnt work for everyone! Love the honesty
That's not uncommon most carnivores are trying to improve their health not tell others what's right or wrong for them.
Not true, everyone is not ready to commit to Carnivore, this is true!!❤❤
Good luck!!

Flatbread made from cottage cheese and eggs filled with goats cheese is a nice treat as a carnivore eater.
Do you have a recipe.? That would be a great treat.
2 eggs 1 cup of cottage cheese or ricotta....blended poured /spread onto a rectangular baking tray lined....bake 20 -40 min depending on your oven in a moderate oven ....keep checking top will be brown bottom pale.....lots of videos on you tube 😊

So encouraging to hear this story 😊
I feel the best when eating only ruminant animals. Chicken isn't as nourishing to me, and I gave up pork and bottom feeding seafood several years ago. Carnivore diet has changed my life, and it's been less than four months. I can't see ever going back to high carbs and oxalates. I feel like I'm getting younger, and I'll be 63 next month.
Same for me. So I'm listening to my body

Butter with the meat? Or before?
Butter fills me like nothing else
I love Lisa, I follow her on IG. You always have the best guests on!

We are aged 77 and 68 and haven't had a cold or any virus for years now 🎉
My plan on holiday is to eat as much meat, fish and eggs and occasional cheese. ❤
This all resonates with me so much! Definitely believe hidden eating disorder may be the culprit 🥴

I can eat half lb easily
No prob afterward with the fat either
Plus eggs
I eat only beef bacon the last few years but pork bacon, oh yes
I can so relate. Seven years carnivore but I do fall off the wagon. Even a tiny tangerine will lead me to eating hubby’s carbs. I do have recurring foot nerve pain on carnivore so I start thinking I need some vitamin c. So I’m caught between carnivore and experimenting with foods to counter gout. One thing that helps is keeping my protein to a minimum of 60 grams a day and upping the fat to 140 grams a day.
Sounds like a b vitamin issue. You may need to fix your vitamin d level so your microbiome can produce b vitamins for you.
I agree that nerve issues are related to B vitamins. I love Seeking Health's B complex with choline, they have the best bioavailable forms in their supps.
Dr Boz talks about gout
It’s actually carb caused

This is great advice, but for some people that isn't enough. Some of us have to eat just meat to switch on our true health.
Is this leading to health or harm? That’s a great nugget to use for deciding everything in life ❤
I drink LMNT all day it gives me zero carb cravings. Stevia doesn’t do that to me. 90 days of absolutely zero carbs or sugar and I have zero cravings. And the electrolytes help me a lot.
I wish it wasn't so darn expensive. I would love to buy it but it's just so costly

You look really good! Great job on your journey and definitely carnivore is the way to go…
When I went to the doctor my blood pressure was always high. I was on bp meds and he wanted me to get an echocardiogram. He must have told them that he expected heart failure and lo and behold they did.
I knew it was wrong so I went to the Cleveland clinic.
My heart is perfect. It’s 100% (60-65%)
I believe the doctor can influence the outcome of a test by telling the testor what to expect.
What a great interviewer...
