8 Incredible Foods That Calm Autoimmune Diseases
    8. Sunflower Seeds
Are you looking for a way to boost your immune system and alleviate the symptoms of your autoimmune disease? Look no further than sunflower seeds! These small but mighty seeds pack a nutrient-dense punch that can help rebalance your immune cells and fight chronic inflammation. One of the key components of sunflower seeds is vitamin E. In fact, a 100g serving of sunflower seeds can deliver up to double the recommended daily intake of this important vitamin.
    7. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Extra virgin olive oil is not just any ordinary cooking oil; it may hold the key to easing the pain and inflammation associated with autoimmune diseases. Recent studies have shown that it contains two major components that play an essential role in managing inflammation: oleic acid and oleocanthal antioxidants.
    6. Sweet Potatoes
Looking for a healthy and delicious vegetable to add to your diet? Look no further than sweet potatoes! Whether you prefer them boiled, steamed, roasted, or mashed, sweet potatoes are a versatile and nutrient-packed option that can benefit your immune system. One of the benefits of sweet potatoes is that they do not contain nightshade alkaloids, which have been linked to allergy-related symptoms. Instead, sweet potatoes are rich in potassium, beta-carotene antioxidants, vitamin C, and vitamin A. These nutrients work together to support healthy cell protection, decrease vitamin deficiency caused by autoimmune disease, and soothe inflammation.
    5. Fatty Fish
If you're a fan of fish, you're in luck! Not only is fish a tasty addition to any meal, but certain types of fish can actually be super beneficial for those with autoimmune diseases. So, what's the catch? Well, you'll need to opt for fatty fish varieties, like salmon, sardines, herring, mackerel, or anchovies, that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA. But why are these fatty acids so important? Well, studies have shown that omega-3 fatty acids can inhibit an inflammatory marker called C-reactive protein, which has been linked to worsening autoimmune reactions.
    4. Turmeric
Autoimmune diseases can be challenging to manage, as the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy cells in the body, leading to chronic inflammation. Fortunately, some spices like turmeric may hold the key to calming the immune system. Turmeric, a golden spice commonly found in Indian and Middle Eastern cuisine, has been shown to have promising effects on a wide range of autoimmune diseases. The active ingredient in turmeric, curcumin, has been found to reduce the production, activation, and migration of antibodies, making it an excellent tool for autoimmune balance.
    3. Green Tea
Green tea, a hot beverage enjoyed worldwide, has become increasingly popular for its health benefits. One of its potential benefits is its ability to soothe the immune system. This tea is packed with epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), a potent antioxidant that has been found to reduce the production of cytokine cells, which play a role in autoimmune diseases.
    2. Mushrooms
Mushrooms are one of the few plant sources of Vitamin D, and wild mushrooms are especially rich in this nutrient. In fact, they contain almost three times the recommended daily intake of Vitamin D2. That's right, wild mushrooms are like a little ray of sunshine for your immune system.
    1. Leafy Greens
Leafy greens are an excellent food choice to calm autoimmune disease. They are packed with a range of nutrients that include vitamins A, C, E, and K, minerals such as calcium and magnesium, and antioxidants that help fight inflammation and protect the body against free radical damage. Moreover, leafy greens also contain beneficial plant compounds like carotenoids, flavonoids, and glucosinolates, which are anti-inflammatory in nature.

My rheumatoid arthritis was completely gone just months after I gone vegan. Meat, eggs and dairy are the culprit of autoimmune diseases - I found out later after digging into medical journals. Why didn't my doctors tell me about this?!!! It has been 11 years, and RA has not come back. Good luck and good health to you all!

My research and real life results do show that out of all foods Dairy is absolutely horrible for RA! I went on a plant based diet and that enabled me to get off All medications! And I mean everything! I seldom suffer from my RA pain anymore (I was on Simponi Aureia infusions, prednisone, tramadol, methotrexate injections, hexofloroquinolone…etc. but not anymore) I drink a green superfood smoothie containing moringa, spirulina, wheatgrass & a mushroom complex. That has helped immensely. I also now walk anywhere from 4-8 miles as exercise which I believe helps as well.
I know your pain, food is medicine so eat clean.
Be blessed & Peace be with you.
God is Good, even if the world is not!

For some people, eating raw kale are among other coniferous vegetables , contain goitrogens that harm thyroid functions. Everyone must research foods themselves for personal use.

    • @brusselsprout5851
      @brusselsprout5851 Рік тому

I’m beginning to believe the root of all ailments is inflammation and we are all like Onions. How the poisons are in each of our body’s layers varies. For that reason how each of us remove one layer after another varies too. Either way, as we start peeling off the layers embedded in a number of them is fears put there by a self serving allopathic enterprise that doesn’t want us to break free from the prison of their treating us until death. Well, anyway, that is what my experience has been while peeling through the layers of poison that enterprise dumped into me while being afraid they are right and God is wrong.
I’m not a medical doctor but have to wonder how much kale it would have to take to damage an already damaged thyroid vs reaping the benefits of what portions of kale can do for the immune system. I recall a time when I was afraid of kale because doctors have had me on so many Rx that were killing me more than a leafy green could ever even begin to. Quite literally, every medical record of mine from 2004 until now contains inaccuracies, mis diagnosis and actual lies in them.
How many people actually get copies of their medical records and research what they mean or question their validity? For your own safety and health I would suggest everyone does this. Because you might find out your medical doctor doesn’t even know you and pretty much only pretends to so he or she or his associations can treat you. Not all, but most of them. It’s been my 19 year experience I’d trust a leaf of kale before I’d trust an allopathic system about anything.
What I’ve learned is to listen to my body and to research and while in those rabbit holes when “they” start pandering to scaring me about dying, I consider the source and what they will benefit as a whole by putting a person on drugs and under the knife that most of the time doesn’t heal the problem and most of the time makes it worse.
It’s a sad situation when we cannot trust medical doctors to provide healing. That is why Dr John Hicks left allopathic medicine and got his degree in natural medicine. His videos used to be on UA-cam. I had the good luck to meet him in Denver, Colorado. He was a decent person who really cared to heal people versus seeing each of us as his personal ticket to a great retirement.
Of course I’m not a doctor so you will always need to ask your doctor if good health is right for you.

I’ve learned although these videos can be helpful you really have to adapt them to your body. It certainly isn’t a one size fis all. But any knowledge is better than no knowledge .

I have sjogrens, which bothers me a lot and lupus with no symptoms. I have eaten a vegan diet for almost 30 years which I contribute to my lack of inflammation and symptoms.

If anyone is taking turmeric, in order to make the turmeric powder 2000x more bioavailable to the body, you must add a small amount of black pepper. If you don't, you're wasting your time, money, and resources. If making the golden tea, a small amount of MCT or coconut oil will do the same.

That is not 100% true. We can most definitely make things better for ourselves with the diet we choose to eat. It does make a difference. And to say otherwise is irresponsible and incorrect.

@@SuzetteG316 don’t speak out of turn. Do you have autoimmune? Are you a dermatologist? Diet will help maintain autoimmune by not making it worse but it does not make it better. I’m on a special drug to reduces my inflammation. That’s what helps my autoimmune.

Autoimmune disorders are increasing day by day and we need to understand that this is only due to wrong foods and habits. I saw great results when I went back to the roots and switched to Ayurveda based HAIP Diet

Not sunflower seeds. I was in a specific diet after having COVID. I went to buy sunflower seeds from the store because allegedly there were good for you. But oddly enough they irritated my "system". I could not understand why and then looked at the ingredients on the back. Roasted in canola or vegetable oil which is unhealthy. Not to mention if you buy the ones that are seasoned which have added sugar, unhealthy oils, salts, etc. The only way they could be healthy is if they were raw, unroasted
