OMG YES! We exercise so that we are able to take care of ourselves!!!! This hit me so hard! Taking care of elderly parent who is unable to take care of themselves fully! No better motivation to keep up my training! Love you Dy!

4 months ago I was desperate to lose weight. I considered this shot. Thank God my brother had been fasting and lost 65 pounds and my son had also been fasting and lost 20 pounds. So I decided on the fasting route. So Happy I did that. I'm now down 25 pounds. I'm taking your class now and hoping to lose the rest of my weight over this year. All of my blood work was just checked and everything was perfect. So thankful for fasting lifestyle and everything that I've learned from you.
Elizabeth, so proud of you. When we take the focus off of food and can sit without it...everything changes. These changes will last. Make sure you read @debbieholbrook message here in the comments. Consistency over time, consistency over time.
Congratulations! Dy Ann is a blessing for the "Aging Woman." It's important to be consistent in your journey of fasting. I hope you will stay in the community of this group of wonderful women.
Love all your insights on a fasting lifestyle. I am a graduate from October of 2022 and still fast consistently every day and never gained my weight back. So grateful for you since my sister was doing weight watchers at same time and didn’t keep hers off and now trying another way!!! Fasting works!!!
Fasting DOES work! I believe it is because we take the FOCUS off of food and back on the US! Where the focus should be. So proud of you. Consistency over time!!
Mindset and food choices always matter. I tell all my clients you can’t out-fast, out-surgery, out-shot, or out-exercise a bad diet. Mindset/food choices trump all else. And I’m VERY pro-fasting and have fasted myself for 4+ years now. So in saying that, I’m not anti Ozempic. Obesity is a multi faceted disease and requires a multi faceted approach for many. Ozempic, surgery, fasting, etc can all work in tandem with each other to beat obesity (if a doctor feels you are a candidate for GLP-1 drugs, surgery, etc). Obesity kills and people are every sick as a result, so I support doing whatever it takes to combat it and maintain a healthy weight for life.
January 2022 grad. Take her course! You can research all the intermittent fasting you want, but she has done it for us in the course. There are so many different thoughts out there on IF. I know because I researched and it was so confused. As a post menopausal woman, I'm dealing with hormonal changes and other health issues (obesity, pre diabetes, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, etc.). When I took DyAnn's course it all made sense to me. I lost the weight, my health markers improved and I reversed pre diabetes. But most of all, I changed my mindset around food. No more dieting! Thank you DyAnn🤩
spot on Dy Ann, I am your 2017 or 2018 graduate, cannot remember. Long time IFer, the fasting is not hard, but at times staying on track with food is tricky. At 61, I do give myself some grace, and exercising for my health and not for weight loss. Please keep on producing good content here in UA-cam! Let’s see if these drugs have any longevity. I already know a few people that the weight is creeping back on....and it is mentally crushing to fail again. I always say, Americans are very cleaver but not necessarily wise.
This was extremely helpful, Dy Ann. I have thought about weight loss drugs in the past, but have never taken the plunge. Intermittent fasting is my ticket. Still working on my mind set!
I don’t understand our overall attitude of using drugs for everything. One, they never address the root cause of anything. Two, they often have side effects that can be quite serious and often encourage use of other drugs to deal with those effects. Three, the pharmaceutical companies have no interest in your health and well being. All they want to do is make as much of your money for as long as possible. I am not against drugs in all situations, but the default for many people, including doctors, seems to be take a pill for everything. And, in the situation of chronic disease, which in most if not all situations, is caused by insulin resistance, drugs will never do what diet and fasting can do.
I’ve done intermittent fasting since I was a teen but around the age of 57, I started gaining weight weekly around my midriff. Was diagnosed with insulin resistance in 10/23 and was prescribed Zepbound. The med is helping with hunger suppression and weight loss. I’m still practicing fasting but now I’m no longer gaining weight which has made me healthier, labs are good and I feel really good. Yes, meds are not for everyone but it helps as a tool for overall health.
@@Debsimmco2 I am not going to say it is BS because there are people out there who suffer from AF! Will you? Probably not. @@DyAnnParham yeah he was tired of taking stuff that was causing him to gain weight and now he's getting it under control and he's only on metformin and that's it now and I think he's lost almost 20 pounds in a couple weeks or maybe it's been a month now I think. But he really tries to eat more like keto now and he finds himself intermittent fasting all the time now. He says because his appetite has changed so he's incorporating it and asking me what to eat.
Fasting is much healthier, it’s natural, spiritually wonderful and it’s free. Oprah is 70 and overweight she just may be a candidate for ozempic, but stay away from her for spiritual advice. I agree it’s good for people who have a bad health history, and are struggling, and is obese. But to jump start only and than start IF which motivates you to eat healthier, exercise and manage your emotions.
You have to eat a clean, healthy diet to sustain weight loss. No question. However, I believe that these drugs are certainly critical for some people and they may need to be on them for life. I was on Ozempic for a year and now I’m on Zepbound. I eat healthy, exercise 2 hours a day and do intermittent fasting. I will probably be on these drugs for life and I’m okay with that. I take other drugs for different things and this is just another issue.

Yap, I agree. Plus Oprah is rich, have chefs and personal trainers. She can do it with out medications. She just eat a lot. She need to pay somebody, who will slap food of her face 24/7. O and I thought Fat is beautiful now days 🤦♀️
