My health issues that I have been going to the doctors for years now include insomnia, migraines and I have osteoporosis diagnosed at age 40 and I’m now 58. Another video I watched included migraines as a sign of low magnesium and I go to my family PCP yearly and I have never been tested for magnesium deficiency. I started taking 400 mg of magnesium last week and I’ve noticed better sleep and less migraines. I wake up with migraines regularly. I have more trust in you then I do in the health care system. Seriously, no one has EVER mentioned MAGNESIUM. THANK YOU, DR. BERRY!!!
@@kimwestra2961 Nice. It's almost as if you have to be your own doctor, because the guys in the white butcher coats don't have the answers 100% of the time, and they font profit when you find solutions outside of the system. We have to do our own research.
Been depressed since preteen....now in my early 50's and found 500mg magnesium finally, FINALLY made it go away. Day three I was still crying but by the end of the week I realized my depression was no longer hanging around my neck. For the FIRST time.
Just no name 500mg Magnesium. I am now off my antidepressants. It tools six months, but I was weaned off of Wellbutrin & Seriquil XR. No side effects coming off except only needing 7hrs of sleep instead of 10 or 12. WTH am I doing up at 5am? LMAO 😂
@@carinagrennan129 I usually do in the mornings with all my other vitamins that can be taken together. I'm sure I'm getting even more magnesium in my multivitamin that I added a yr and a half ago. All is well as I've had my levels checked. Everything was fine accept I was told to stop taking B12 as I was producing enough on my own. It was the only thing too high..
@@djformalin Went to bed at midnight, still up at 5 am. Brain is either anxious about changes in work or is just to cleared up from not being on anti-depressants. People complaining that he took too long to get to the symptoms should appreciate the important info he was sharing while they zoned out: He explained how your blood magnesium levels could be normal on a test, but your cellular level of magnesium could still be deficient.
Yes , details are important. Anybody who doesn't listen and just wants answers is a fuckin idiot. We have to listen to every point of a subject , that's how we make rational informed decisions
My thought is what does good does it do to receive information with out the back drop of the what, why's & when. Folks today want info now and not one second later, like a dang spoiled child, makes me think of the rich girl on Willie Wonka(original one), we all remember what happened to her.
What about severe anxiety disorder?? I have had trouble sleeping and eat benzos like candy. I went to the Dr. And got a blood test. It revealed that I was vitamin D deficient but he said my magnesium levels were normal. I've taken 400mg. of mag for 2 weeks and my sleep was AMAZING!!! Thank you for this video, Dr.!
sandra gaines Docs are required to take a lot of nutritional classes. I’m a nurse and I had to take a TON of nutrition classes. Nutrition unfortunately still falls in the alternative health zone and doctors work in the conventional zone. Supplements are not regulated so you can’t prescribe an amount, nor will insurance cover nutritional testing.
@@mariamayer6181 of course not ... cuz the fda is in on the scam too ... its a legal drug cartel... they dont test nutrition or even bother to ask cuz they know thats the problem... us cattle have been eating chemicals all our lives that they tell us is "food" ... theres a reason cancer is such a problem ... n it boils down to what we're ingesting
This lecture is gold. Personally, I had the first 6 symptoms mentioned here, and nobody knew why. I took magnesium supplements 2 times a day for a few months and these symptoms improved or disappeared: 2:57 - #01, energy levels / ATP 3:24 - #02, tachycardia (fast heartbeat) 3:57 - #03, numbness / tingling 4:25 - #04 , muscle cramps / twitches 4:49 - #05, constipation 5:26 - #06 , insomnia
Me too. Although I was taking a magnesium oxide that wasn't readily absorbed in the blood. When I switched supplements everything got better. All the best!
Magnesium absorbs through the skin. The old Magnesium body rubs were salty. I’ve just ordered Magnesium oil. I’m not sure if it will be salty or not. 🙏🤷♀️ Epson Salt’s has magnesium. That’s why grandmother soaked her feet in warm Epsom Salt’s water. ❤
It is negligence that nutrition continues to be ignored. Most MD's have no clue or interest in educating themselves on the basics of supplementation. Yet they're fluent in countless Big pharma drugs. I used to suffer with A fib and incidents of tachycardia. My cardiologist had me on metaprolol for a while, but I could barely function. I began to research and learned of the heart's need for electrolytes among myriad other bodily functions. The rest is history. May God bless you Dr. Berry. You are truly saving lives and building health.
I suffered terribly from extremely painful calf cramps for 50 yrs. Two yrs ago I started taking Mg tablets and I have been cramp free for the past 2 yrs.
The cramps in my thighs have been keeping me awake. I tried stretching but that was a temporary fix. Last night I took a magnesium supplement and had NO thigh or calf pain
Because most doctors are only taught to suppress symptoms of disease by prescribing medications that never intend to cure anything. What's worse is that many of these medications have dangerous side effects and can become addictive. The pharamcutecal companies who provide these meds line their pockets with the suffering of millions. In ancient times Man looked to nutrition and natural cures to eliminate disease. Now doctors are nothing more than drug dealers with a license to push poison on the population.
My symptoms all point towards magnesium deficiency. Numbness, muscle cramps, low energy, high parathyroid hormone ect. My doctor checked my magnesium levels and said it was normal. I just started taking a supplement and good results were almost instant.
Very true I walk in my job over 8 mls day. My doctor said didn’t need magnesium but I kept cramping and legs hurting from continual walking.. started magnesium felt better. ❤️😊
Thank you Dr...I've been to drs and finally after two visits to emergency..was told I had taci cardia..went back to my dr.and she didn't explain anything..more meds..didn't help...found you and realized I had severe deficiency in magnesium...thank you ..my heart thanks you..I'm not crazy
I have PCOS, and suffered from amenorrhea (no period) and was told magnesium deficiency can cause your hormones out of wack, so I started taking magnesium malate(400mg) (one year ago) and within four weeks, I had a cycle and have had one every 32 days since. Seriously, this helped me so much!
Look for videos on IMF and keto to learn about how to lower your insulin resistance. Sugars and insulin resistance can be a cause of PCOS! You may realize you've been consuming way too many carbs and especially sugar, possibly hidden in your foods as HFCS (high fructose corn sugar) which is no longer required to be shown on the label as anything but 'sugar', yet is much harder on the liver, blood vessels and tissues including the ovaries. Hence, PCOS.
Holy cow. I’ve been diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (high heart rate) and small fiber neuropathy (numbness and tingling in my hands and feet). I’m going to try a magnesium supplement.
Since using Magnesium, I have NO night muscle cramps anymore. This came to memory one morning after waking up. Something my mother used for years. What you say right here has worked for me!

Family history heart issues, I was having afib, took magnesium, no more problems! Much later in life I was pregnant, dire, debilitating morning sickness, I wasn’t taking magnesium! Now I take it religiously! I am trying to get the son I was carrying at this time to take magnesium! Thank you! I sent him this video!
I'm on Magnesium for the last few years after Nursing my late husband for 9 yrs lack of sleep perhaps 2 hrs only in the night time! My eye optometric said that my eye is over fatigue I twitch from time to time my right eye that is many thanks 🙏🐾🐕👍!!!
I used to get horrendous cramp in my feet and calves along with unbearable restless legs almost every night but these stopped completely once I started taking magnesium. It is actually quite difficult to get what you need from your food nowadays as our soils have become so depleted of not just magnesium but also many minerals essential for our body. This is what happens when you rely on monocultures instead of the good old fashioned crop rotations. Our crop production has gone up. However, the nutritional value has gone down.

How is it that an honest to goodness medical doctor knows so much about nutrition?! Most Doctors don't know diddly squat about nutrition. It is so refreshing to listen to you give information to people that can help them. Food is Medicine- It's too bad modern medical schools don't follow Hippocrates advice about this. After all isn't he the Father of modern medicine? Great job-keep it up.I started taking magnesium supplements months ago when I learned that most people with Fibromyalgia are deficient. I've started on the Keto diet as one of my friends on it says that all her aches and pains have gone away. When I've gone off the reservation and eaten sugar I can really tell in my pain level! Sugar addiction is hard to break, but I just get back on the diet and keep trying. Stubbornness can be a good thing when you refuse to give up.
"After all isn't he the Father of modern medicine? " The sort the likes of the Queen gets, or the sort we can get with either no money or lots of money? City of London (seperate state to the UK) still has a 'worshipful company of' apothocaries. I believe.
Thank you!!! I was having heart palpitations , anxiety attacks and cramps in my hands etc… I started taking magnesium and those symptoms went away! Your.a God send.. keep up the good work!❤️ God bless you
Just about every symptom you mentioned is what I’m dealing with. Just went to the walk in clinic yesterday for severe puns and needles in my fingertips and toes. Everything but my D levels were in the “normal range”. Your average doctor doesn’t know what you know. They’re very one dimensional and stick with what they’ve learned in class rooms and books. It’s sad. Thank you so much Dr Berry!🌸
After this year of COVID resulting in researchers discovering that the easy to access and inexpensive Vit D ... has had an amazing impact on people's immune system and its ability to fend off the ravages of COVID much better than in people with LOW D levels. Now more research is discovering that it appears that VIT D also plays a critical role people developing autoimmune diseases if they are low ... and benefiting if they have higher levels. I have had a nasty autoimmune disorder for many years, one that was associated with people who lived in northern climates - but no one knew WHY? Well it appears that low levels of VIT D is a factor ... It is amazing what has been discovered about its amazing benefits ... plus it is very inexpensive and easily accessible ..... ALL THINGS BIG PHARMA HATES - an amazingly beneficial substance that they cannot cash in on. It is terrifying to think of all the inexpensive and easy ways people can improve their health - that is being discouraged by BIG PHARMA and their influence on our entire health care system, including doctors being bombarded by Pharm Reps spinning tales of how their extremely expensive DRUGS are 'the only alternatives' to treating patients ... while plying Docs with incentives and perks to "push their drugs' instead of cheaper and better alternatives.
Get a SPECTRACELL TEST, which covers everything and doesn't have stupidly low ranges that are supposedly "normal". "Satisfactory" lab values for vit D3 are from a really low 30 to a high of 100. You actually want to be in the upper quintile from 75 to 95, which is where all the optimum stuff happens. Do you want to fight cancer and all disease with a big fist or do you want to shake hands with it?
We really really need more doctors like you... you know your stuff very well. I've been to several doctors and they can't seem to figure out what's wrong with me and whatever I'm dealing with keeps me from doing everyday activities
Definitely shared this one! I was magnesium deficient for years and didn’t even know. My levels showed normal like you said but I had heart palpitations (checked out and shown to be nothing serious), chronic insomnia (for 7+ years with no help from my doctors) and severe foot cramps. I started magnesium glycinate and a little magnesium calm before bed and those issues are resolved about 98% (insomnia still gets me every so often). I am so happy to have learned about this!
Carrie Wright I was beginning to have problems with cramps in my feet and upper thigh at night last year, also always had a fast heart rate and at times palpitations. Never knew magnesium would help. I'm gonna get a supplement to see if this helps me as well. And I too have insomnia at times never connected all of these symptoms together!
Within 2-3 days for about 98% relief like I said. My feet might feel like they're going to cramp a bit but then they don't and before they were debilitating cramps and the insomnia; sleeping most of the time is better than only 4 hours EVERY night.
Me neither! It's worth a shot. The straight magnesium in Walmart didn't work for me, just FYI. I've heard Citrate is good for diarrhea so I've stayed away from that lol and I went with a chelated Glycinate to be easier on my stomach since it can cause issues. It's been wonderful.
Carrie Wright I just went online and found some to order. I usually order most of my supplements online from Swanson vitamins. My feet would cramp so bad at night it would wake me up. I felt like Pinocchio... lol
It straightened out my long term constipation problems due to medication. I poop like I did when I was in my youth! Also fully evacuate. I don't feel like I left the job unfinished. ..huge thumbs up on this one!
I had heart arrhythmia in my 20's and that stopped when I started taking magnesium. In fact (I wish I knew sooner) that I was deficient in electrolytes and other minerals because I skateboarded and lost a lot of minerals through sweat. Also unknowingly I was into keto long before it was mainstream knowledge, back in the 90's and early 2000's I would eat 1-2 meals a day and when in ketosis we lose more minerals. Things I wish I knew 20 years ago!
I’ve been taking metoprolol morning and night along with losartan. Started taking a mag supplement about 2 months ago. Started having dizziness to the the point of almost passing out a few times. Started checking BP and heart rate several times a day. Heart rate was getting too low 44-47 bpm and BP 95-100 over 60-65. Started cutting my metoprolol in half and stopped taking losartan. My heart rate is now staying 60-70 bpm and BP 115-125 over 75-85. Feeling 100% better and sleeping much better.
Thank you so much for the comment! I also take metoprolol and I was wondering about this. I would like to continue adjusting my diet so that I can stop taking it. So far I have reduced it to (1) 25 mg pill once a day from (2) 25 mg pills twice a day . I also take warfarin because of a prosthetic valve, but other than that no other medications. I have already required my cardiologist to prescribe my warfarin to adjust to the vitamin K that I refuse to give up. One truly needs to become almost their own functional nutritionalist to be healthy these days and to not be afraid to talk to their doctors and search for doctors that will listen and work with you .
Dang! I'm on metoprolol one half twice a day. Suddenly started having fast heart racing two weeks ago. It just started all of the sudden and they are trying to say I just have an irregular heart beat. But this just suddenly started and I'm dependent on meds for life now? Like man..
Thanks Dr Berry, my doctor put me on mag-oxide 400mg, one daily but didn’t tell me to take at night. I started taking daily @ 10 am and I started taking a afternoon nap. I never before in my life almost 70, needed a daily nap. Wow, now I will start taking it one hour before bedtime! Sharing this with friends and family!
@@Sabbathissaturday it's not bad, it's just has less rate of absorption, however there is more magnesium in Magnesium oxide than other types of magnesium compounds, so their higher absorption rate defeated by the fact that there 6 not much magnesium in them. However if magnesium gives people the runs, they should try, other types like glycinate.
I am so out of words seeing the solution to problems that made me feel less than and abnormal for years in a tiny pill that I happened upon accidentally. Insomnia, constipation and incapacitating painful irregular heartbeat have reduced me to living far below my potentials. This revelation is one of the greatest miracles of my life! God is beyond wonderful 😥😥😥✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
I'm a general contractor who works long days on my feet up and down and started getting tremendous leg cramps in the middle of the night. Started taking Magnesium Malate and no more leg cramps. Other cheaper varieties of Magnesium did not work for me tho.Great video BTW.
Something similar just happened to me. I had been taking a less effective form of Magnesium that seemed to work quite well for many years in eliminating assorted aches and pains. However, suddenly after twisting my leg - and subsequently hobbled by severe pain up and down that leg to the point it was torture due to bizarrely powerful and excruciating leg cramps. I was already taking Magnesium Oxide and Potassium rich foods and supplements when this happened - but everyday my pain and muscle spasms greatly limited what I could do. Coincidently - I had just ordered Magnesium Malate online - because of all the negative things I had hear about the Oxide version ... and it arrived about 11 days after the onset of this massive pain. I immediately took the Malate in the evening, after eating ... and at first I saw no improvement, in fact my pain actually got worse a few hours later - leaving me discouraged and befuddled ..... HOWEVER ... to my shock the next morning, I was pain free!! I assumed my contractions would return after a few hours of moving around like they had the previous 11 days - BUT to my utter delight and surprise after a full day - and actively moving around the house - the PAIN NEVER returned ....and the ONLY difference was - switching to MAGNESIUM MALATE!! I did some research that stated it could take up to 48 hrs to be absorbed, which would explain my initial pain. I am on Day 2 of Magnesium Malate now, and still feeling good - after 11 DAYS OF PURE TORTUROUS PAIN AND CRAMPS ...that was literally disabling no matter what I tried and Pain relievers had only made a small temporary improvement. FYI -Today I only took a half dose to see how well a smaller dosage worked - and I am still Pain-Free and back to normal.
This is by FAR the best video on magnesium deficiency on UA-cam. You answered all my questions! Other popular docs on UA-cam are falling short. Love your content. Subscribed 🙏🏻
70 on 2 months, I've had those symptoms all my life, thank you for this . Severe morning sickness5-6 months. Lost 12 kids doctors should have helped me, in hospital a lot! I pray this blesses someone besides me. .
I wish I could find a doctor Ken where I live. I don't trust doctors I always end up with doctors with God complexes and we butt heads and I leave frustrated with prescriptions that I won't take.
Which kind of magnesium? There's magnesium oxide, magnesium glycate, magnesium citrate, and others I can't think of right now. What kind is best and how much, how often, with food, or without? Thanks for all you do, Dr. Berry. You have helped many people live less painful and more fulfilling lives.
My son has many of the symptoms described. I have always taken magnesium but I never thought a very active 17 year old may need it also. Glad I watched this video.
I've been taking magnesium for a couple months. Solved my life long constipation and deep sleeping like never before! Started a calcium supplement and it stopped all the good magnesium effects. Back to only magnesium
Thanks for posting this. From 2004 - 2011ish I was having grand mal seizures. It wasn't epilepsy, so nothing could be prescribed by a doctor. I decided to try a simple magnesium supplement 500mg daily after seeing a website on magnesium deficency which listed seizures as a symptom. I've had that eye twitch you talked about and petit mal seizures (absent) since I was a kid and the seizures were infrequent. Within a month the seizures stopped completely. How simple would it have been (and less expensive) for even a nutritionist to say, hey how about taking a magnesium supplement? It would have saved years (literally) of pain (from falling) and anguish going from doctor to doctor and I would have gotten much more sleep! I hope people try it, because it certainly can't hurt. It didn't hurt me, it helped.
I had lots of seizures during nights and I woke up because of them. I also had very painful thigh cramps every may-june during hot weather. I went through many ECG tests without a diagnosis. Finally, I read about how magnesium can prevent afib and I purchased some easily absorbed magnesium (not MgO) and my problems with seizures and painful muscle cramps disappeared. I still suffer from insomnia, though. I have a food sensitivity, birch pollen cross sensitivity and histamine intolerance and they might be the cause of my magnesium deficiency.
I can always tell when I'm low on magnesium as I will get this random, quick, onset of teeth chattering. Can't hardly talk because it sounds like I'm freezing cold, from my teeth chattering so badly. Also feels like my lower jaw starts to stiffen as my teeth are chattering. Thought it was really strange...to say the least! Went to the ER. and they gave me a small bag of magnesium which had to be administered over a three hour time course intravenously as you cannot just be hammered with it in your vein, all at once. Wow...what a difference this made. Also, got rid of the random pvc's with my heart and definitely escalated my mood! I had a full gastric bypass back in 02 and then had to have it completely reversed one month later due to extreme side effects from the procedure itself. Every since the reversal, my body has an absorption issue with most all minerals and vitamins. However, I can attest that magnesium is literally a game changer! It controls so many functions in our bodies and being off even a little can wreak havoc! Of course, there are many different factors, but magnesium is truly crucial! Thank you for sharing your story.. Stay safe, happy, and healthy..
I have nerve damage due to a motorcycle accident in 2018. During that time, I had to have multiple blood transfusion and in hospital for three month's. Ever since then I've had magnesium deficiency and my feet will sometimes cramp up in the middle of a walk. This is a great reminder to make sure to take my supplements, especially after learning that it effects more than just my feet. Thank you! 💖
I didn't realize I was magnesium deficient until I started taking frequent Epsom salt baths, which for those who don't know, allows you to absorb magnesium through your largest organ, your skin. The difference is like night and day and it leaves your skin feeling fantastic. No more bumpy skin! Over the last few years I have had all of these symptoms and more: eye twitching, migraines, anxiety and depression, extreme fatigue, thrombosis and heart palpitations and loss of bone density. After only a few baths, my shoulder, which hurt so bad I could not raise my arm for months without severe pain, improved enough that I could start doing yoga poses again. The improvement in my overall health is so amazing I literally feel like I have a new life!
Laura Baxter I had to leave a comment thank you Laura for your comment I like yourself have found Magnesium to be detrimental to overall health I clearly see the difference I suffered tremendous back pain and a couple days ago I started doing Yoga thanks to UA-cam like you I feel like a bran new person ♡ for the 2 guys that left a comment first off I have been doing research on magnesium for a year and you don't know what the hell your talking about it's not a scam...and Yoga is to improve flexibility and overall health...its also about strength and balance the fact you would think it's demonic it BEYOND stupid if that's where your mind takes you that sounds like a personal issue..
Lisa Carey Actually, there's more to yoga than what you realize. Search out its origins, and don't be so quick to dismiss things other people might be more aware of. None of us knows everything. If you research yoga and still want to do it, then that's up to you. But at least you'll know. And I'm not commenting about magnesium, only about the practice of yoga. Plus I'm a female, and not a guy like the other two that commented.
@@lisacarey856 Thanks for the support. I agree with you, it seems ridiculous to say Yoga is demonic but researched it anyway and still disagree. I'm not one of those people who want to stack everything in life into a good vs evil category. The breath work alone in yoga is 100% worth it and completely beneficial. I think what people are afraid of is the possibility of kundalini awakening (activating the body's chakras) because that can cause problems depending on the persons awareness, state of mind, and how much fear they have stored up in the body. I would go further and say, the only people who have "demonic" possession as a result of yoga, are the people who believe in such things.
@Henry Stoneking where in hell, well I guess that's where you came up with such a ridiculously ignorant view of yoga. This statement is to backwards to even give it any more of my time. Some people's choice to be ignorant amaze me and then they try to share such ignorance. wow! Research before you open your mouth would be a wise thing to do
This is very helpful, I’ve been experiencing the heart palpitations occasionally and leg cramps and I even have magnesium vitamins in my cabinet! Taking one right now, thanks Dr Berry
Oh my. My daughter has been through every test they can think of. She has been ill daily for over a year. She has most of these symptoms. I am getting some tonight I pray this is the solution we have been waiting for. God Bless.
Magnesium supplements have changed my life. Seems like such a simple, cheap thing that shouldn't have a massive effect but... it does. If you don't eat a lot of dark greens, nuts or avocados... You. Need. Magnesium. Can't hurt to try... changed me in a day after many years of problems.
Great clip, thank you. I was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation. My lifestyle was poor - inadequate sleep, alcohol binging at the same time taking up cycling and going pretty hard at it. I also suffer from restless leg syndrome and muscle cramps. Started taking magnesium supplements daily in powder form and all these conditions disappeared. It’s been such a revelation. I recommend it if you’re suffering from any of these conditions. I also take Hydralyte electrolyte tablets in water after a long ride. That too has helped in the above conditions.
Can you please tell me what brand of electrolyte tablets you take. I get up with sore muscles everyday and most nights I get cramps in my legs, that I have to jump down from the bed and rub it with a mag spray I got on Amazon but it does not help. I drink pickle juice which helps a bit. I run about seven 5K marathons every year, stop for the 2 years of lockdown. But now it's getting very hard to do with all these pains. I dont want to ever stop running or walking but it seems like I may have to for awhile. I got a sciatic nerve pain attack a few months could not walk for 5 weeks. I ran a 5K marathon 2 weeks ago now I am still trying to recover from it! Thankyou in advance
Here's a big one.... for anyone that suffers from epilepsy - Taking magnesium is a must! Less seizures or in some known cases has stopped them completely. Research magnesium and seizures.
Was in a car accident a few years ago, had to have many operation to my arm and hand. Lots of nerve damage was done. My VA doctor told me right away to start taking Mg to help my body rebuild and help my nerves. Also had trouble sleeping even after I got on breathing machine, the VA doctor recommended Mg before I went to bed. So now I am taking 250 mg supplement and at 73 I am doing just fine. Must say you did mention all good points for people to feel better and have good health. Keep up the good videos.
Wow, I’ve been complaining of several of the signs you mentioned for a while now. With insomnia being the most recent. Was just googling the correlation with keto and insomnia as I just started having it within weeks of starting a keto diet. This video made it clear I have a magnesium deficiency. Will definitely order the supplement you recommended. Thanks so much for sharing this info!
I'm AFib,at least was,, started supplementing mag,5 month ago,and I tell you incidents of palpitations have almost completely disappeared!I feel solid on rhythm.have yearly blood work and always looks good,to there standards, anyhow I have benefitted substantial, thank you
My doctor flat out agrees with you 100% he actually gave me this whole argument and he said I had a magnesium deficiency which is why I was displaying a fast irregular heartbeat. Muscle Twitching, longer recovery time via gym, insomnia hypertension. He put me on pedialyte sport He explained that magnesium and potassium deficiencies affect your ATP. He said the exact same thing you did we are highly deficient and magnesium in our food magnesium is associated with heart distress and he argues that potassium and magnesium could be the main factor for why women have the highest heart disease rate. Even though my blood levels came back normal he said the symptoms do not lie he put me on my regiment the symptoms went away. I know someone's probably gonna say this in the Comments and the comments are gonna be well I'm plant based.. I am too and I still had a magnesium and potassium deficiency.
I like what you've said here. Your doctor recognizes that his/her patients may have unique needs that require higher- or lower- nutritional levels of any given vitamin or mineral. We don't all react the same to medications, either!
Plant based means you’re MORE apt to be deficient lol Minerals are very hard for ppl to absorb from plants AND the souls are depleted on top of that. Take the quality mag capsules nightly! (don’t drink the crappy sourced minerals in sugar syrup, chemical dye free or not) And get a RBC mag lab, not serum mag lab. That wil show if there’s an actual deficiency
How do i know which magnesium to take .? Im told there’s about 4 different types, thank you for being a real Doctor that cares about people. So many doctors today are nothing more than service writers for the hospital. Like a car dealership. But you are one that i wish was my doctor
The same for me!! I use to have crippling night time anxiety that would keep myself and my husband up to all hours of the night. Within a few days of starting a magnesium supplement my anxiety was almost completely eradicated. It has made a world of difference for me.
@@jennifernicole4773 What brand do you use, please? I want to look it up and buy it on-line. And as you know, some laboratories are better than others in putting out quality supplements. Thank you in advance for your time!😊
I can attest to the heart palpitations part. I developed severe heart palpitations back in 2007 and went to several Dr's who said it's normal and not to worry about. NOT ONE suggested that I may be Mg deficient. I didn't know anything until about a year ago when I was researching something else and came across an article about A-fib. Someone in the comment section wrote that if you have A-fib you should be taking Mg. I said hey, what the heck. It couldn't hurt. LO AND BEHOLD it pretty much took them completely away!!! I still have bouts every now and then but nothing like before. For 10 freakin' years I lived with this and all it was, was low Mg. I swear doctors are useless!!!!
I had significant heart palpitations for many years ... twice I was diagnosed by Cardiologists and neither one of them EVER MENTIONED anything as a solution or asked any questions - I was just told I had tachycardia and sent on my way. NOTE: This was in the pre-internet era when the average person had no real access to health information - which allowed too many doctors to play god with people's lives, and go unchallenged. Later on, as I grew older and wiser, I became infuriated that the 2 times my palpitations were the worse, occurred about 6 to 12 hrs AFTER I had consumed more caffeinated coffee than usual - and in the evening. What made me so angry - was that neither Cardiologist ever even asked me how much caffeine I ingested - which should be "DUH 101" - they should ask EVERY PATIENT that is being seen for heart palpitations and fast heart beat. The only reason I had not drawn that very logical conclusion - was because my fast heartbeat occurred about 6+ hours after consuming my higher than usual caffeine intake the previous evening - but that is exactly what happened to make my heart rate speed up - so I simply lowered my caffeine intake - and BINGO - my palpitations virtually disappeared. Now, with access to these videos online ... and SO MUCH INFORMATION about all the problems that can be easily treated with simple supplements or diet changes ... is both exhilarating - and infuriating - considering how many 'millions' of people have needlessly suffered from problems, that can be so EASILY 'fixed' with simple supplements or diet changes - that are to this day NEVER mentioned or addressed by the MAJORITY of Physicians we have all wasted a lot of precious time and money visiting! Looks like BIG PHARMA has had a lot of influence over Doctor's medical advice. After all, if it weren't for the Pandemic ... and all the research on into it - we likely never would have known about how absolutely CRITICAL Vit D is to our overall health and immunity. Makes one wonder how many lives could have been spared, if from the onset everyone bolstered their immune systems with the very powerful Vit D ... very inexpensive and easily accessed ... the very things BIG PHARMA hates.
@@ridgebriar17 Wow. Your story is a good one. So happy you found a solution. Just recent due to stress and anxiety my palpitations started. I take magnesium but not daily. I think I should start a new routine. But also what seems to be helping is taking care of my gut health. Overall, keep inflammation down and all will be ok. 👌🏾💪🏾
I commend you Dr. Berry for taking natural lifestyle choices as being of importance. Most don’t take the time to educate themselves in wholistic living as it’s so much easier to discount the general public as caring enough about themselves to make the changes needed. At 37 close to death I cared. At 46 currently I’m in the best shape of my life, why? Because my cardiologist sent me to a wholistic life coach. Now my life is a journey of educating myself as well as others to eat properly and respect the importance of what we eat, what we do activity wise and how we think. Keep the videos coming because I definitely enjoy them and share them often. 💪🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Hey doc. Off topic!! Maybe someone said it already but I'll say it because I just came across this video but stop wearing those wireless earphones! Not sure if you know much about Emf radiation but those things in your ears, right next to your brain are extremely dangerous. Always use wired earphones. Love your channel so just a bit of friendly advice 😊
I’m so grateful to you doc, I did not know why my fingers were tingling and going to sleep at bedtime or in the morning. Took mag supplement and I have had no troubles since. The pain that went along with it was horrible. I guess it was the carpel tunnel caused it to be painful. Thanks again
I'd just like to add to make sure your magnesium supplement is of good quality. i took a low quality one and it gave me runs instantly. switched to a full spectrum magnesium supplement and the results were amazing. Really helped my insomnia and restless leg syndrome. and no runs!
I used to get ventricular tachycardia attacks few times a week some 11 years ago. My heart rate would go very high, I'd feel lightheaded and faint. My doctor didn't know what to do with it. I asked him if I should take magnesium supplements. I heard back then that magnesium could be helpful. The doctor said it wouldn't do anything and sent me to see a cardiologist instead. By the time I saw the cardiologist, I have been taking magnesium supplements for weeks at that point. My heart was fine and didn't have an episode in 11 years. Magnesium rules.
About a year ago I started having a lot of pain in my back and hips. It got so bad I went to the Dr and he basically said it’s arthritis and gave me medication for it. I also noticed that just about every time I ate a piece of tooth chipped or broke off followed by the worst TMJ pain I’ve ever experienced. Somehow I just so happened to find out that a cholesterol pill I had been taking was depleting my magnesium. I quit taking it and started taking a magnesium. After a couple of days taking it I quit having all that pain. It has been a life saver for me
Taking any cholesterol pills have so many bad side effects. Never get suckered into the lies that high cholesterol levels are bad for you. Your brain and nervous system needs and requires cholesterol.
I eat at the buffet three times a week. People are amazed with my weight loss. The heavy set guy who is diabetic just spent the week end in the hospital with atrial fibrillation . It all makes sense because he never eats green and doesn't take supplements. He takes medicine. This lecture could save many lives!

Hi. I was just on the ER with what appeared to be a heart attack. Turns out my magnesium was very low. I am type 1 diabetic. I had every single one of the symptoms. Not one Dr. even mentioned the low magnesium. I didn't connect it until listening to this. I take extra magnesium so I was very surprised that it was so low when they took the blood samples. Thank you so very much for this. The doctor can't figure out why my heart rate is so fast.
I have a magnesium deficiency and I have to take a supplement. My doctor does blood tests every 3 months because of different medications I'm on. This is very good information.
When I told my dr I was supplementing magnesium he responded that most people arent deficient and enough magnesium is produced by the kidneys. I ignored him and expressed I would be continuing my high dosage. I take 800- 1k mg a day broken up between morning and night. He initially told me it was a high dosage, but I know it's not because I feel great.
Too much us dangerous too. I'm a cardiac patient and have to take lasix so I'm required to take potassium and magnesium. The doctor has to watch my magnesium very closely so as to not gain toxicity.
I suffered cardiac misfiring aka PVCs..began when I was 24 yrs old...I had a dangerous Bi-gymany...triple PVCs along w racing heart rate...was given 2 different Beta blockers that didn't really help...then I heard a Mayo clinic cardiologist talk about cardiac arrhythmias being magnesium deficiency...I have chrones disease my entire life...but taking magnesium made everything better...no more PVCs...wow!
I literally had no idea how important magnisium was until I had none! Was in hospital last year for DKA. Struggled with magnesium since then. I recently got on magnesium suppliments and it changed my life!!! All these symptoms he's speaking of I had.
Thank you, Dr. Berry for the thorough explanation! I wish I'd known about this when I was pregnant (twice) as I suffered severe morning sickness, would wake up in the middle of the night with leg cramps, and was constipated.
Been reading up a lot on this Magnesium deficiency thing ever since I noticed I twitch way too much. I've had muscle cramps since I was a kid, mainly Calves, arms, hand. When I got older, it felt like the cramps are almost everywhere, thigh, waist, chin. Been told to go for a run or lose some weight whenever I tell someone I'm cramp prone. And now I feel my back problems and insomnia could also be due to magnesium deficiency. Glad to come across this video. Might try some supplements to see if it makes a difference!
You sound exactly like me ! Recently I've discovered drinking way more water and an iron supplement once per day, has reduced a daily occurrence to once every 2 weeks. Good luck and God Bless.
I've finally met someone else who has cramps in their chin!! People think I"m crazy when I tell them I cramp EVERYWHERE, even my chin. I get cramps in my belly, fingers, toes, everywhere. I knew magnesium and potassium were supposed to be helpful for them and took both supplements for years until I learned I have stage 3 kidney disease and cut out the potassium, then ran out of magnesium and never got a new bottle, and I'm so severely tired, my dr yesterday did more blood tests and told me there is a study for extreme daytime tiredness she's going to try to get me into. I have 6 of the things he mentioned in the video, so I'm definitely getting more magnesium to start taking again.
@@kathyjohnson2878 I get painful cramps in my neck when I yawn. Cramps in my inner thighs, torso, shoulders, legs, feet, and more. I use an electric blanket on my legs every night. It works 80% of the time. I have a doctor who is no help at all.
You just saved my life. I have a vitamin D deficiency it was only at 16... My doctor put me on prescription 50,000m Vitamin D a week. At first it seemed to help but then I started having horrible symptoms which I know now are due to magnesium deficiency. Thank you. I subscribed!! ❤️
This is amazing information! I was reading about magnesium deficiency for period weeks which is supposed to help. Not only has it helped it also has helped with sleeping at night and my fast heart which I take beta blockers for ( for flight or fight, mostly flight😁) thank you so much for the advice and well as the comments from people!

My levels showed normal like you said but I had heart palpitations (checked out and shown to be nothing serious), chronic insomnia (for 7+ years with no help from my doctors) and severe foot cramps.
I felt like Pinocchio... lol

Wow! I'm impressed!
Magnesium oxide is the cheapest and the worse type of the Magnesium. Change into the others please.
Do your research...search best forms of magnesium. Oxide is one of worst.
Why is it bad???
Magnesium rich foods
I am on Day 2 of Magnesium Malate now,
and still feeling good - after 11 DAYS OF PURE TORTUROUS PAIN AND CRAMPS ...that was literally disabling no matter what I tried and Pain relievers had only made a small temporary improvement. FYI -Today I only took a half dose to see how well a smaller dosage worked - and I am still Pain-Free and back to normal.

Be sure and take a Vitamin D supplement. We are always told to take calcium but D is more important. Weight bearing exercise too
Which kind of magnesium?
Wow,shame to the doctors
I had lots of seizures during nights and I woke up because of them. I also had very painful thigh cramps every may-june during hot weather. I went through many ECG tests without a diagnosis. Finally, I read about how magnesium can prevent afib and I purchased some easily absorbed magnesium (not MgO) and my problems with seizures and painful muscle cramps disappeared. I still suffer from insomnia, though. I have a food sensitivity, birch pollen cross sensitivity and histamine intolerance and they might be the cause of my magnesium deficiency.
@@marjattalakso5819 how's your current condition?
Great
I can always tell when I'm low on magnesium as I will get this random, quick, onset of teeth chattering.
The improvement in my overall health is so amazing I literally feel like I have a new life!
research says your body doesnt absorb that way and its a scam

We SW
I like what you've said here. Your doctor recognizes that his/her patients may have unique needs that require higher- or lower- nutritional levels of any given vitamin or mineral. We don't all react the same to medications, either!
Plant based means you’re MORE apt to be deficient lol
Minerals are very hard for ppl to absorb from plants AND the souls are depleted on top of that.
Take the quality mag capsules nightly! (don’t drink the crappy sourced minerals in sugar syrup, chemical dye free or not)
And get a RBC mag lab, not serum mag lab. That wil show if there’s an actual deficiency
Wow!
Why form of magnesium did you use and how much
There are several types of magnesium. Which types are best for specific symptoms?
Started taking only 250 grams a day....a week ago.....I feel so much better....I don’t feel my heart racing anymore...
My anxiety is better also
what kind of magnesium did you take?
I hope that's a typo and you mean 250 mg. :

The same for me!! I use to have crippling night time anxiety that would keep myself and my husband up to all hours of the night. Within a few days of starting a magnesium supplement my anxiety was almost completely eradicated. It has made a world of difference for me.
ReMag is another amazing magnesium that crosses the blood brain barrier! I use it everyday and it has worked wonders for me!
How about pumpkin seeds? Are they good enough?

He's exactly right. I was hospitized and they started me on this along with other meds...big difference.
Same here,
Yes they are. This “pandemic” proved how worthless they are!
@@ridgebriar17 Wow. Your story is a good one. So happy you found a solution. Just recent due to stress and anxiety my palpitations started. I take magnesium but not daily.

If a Dr told you that kidneys "produce" magnesium, like you wrote, they should be suspended & sent back to school.
600mg is probably at the high end
Keep an eye on your kidneys. As a former dialysis nurse I had patients on dialysis because they over did it on supplements.
